¹Now there were some present at the same time who told him about the Galileans, whose blood Pilate had mixed with their sacrifices.

¹در همان هنگام عده ای در آنجا حضور داشتند که داستان جَلیلیانی را که پیلاطُس خون شان را با قربانیهای شان در آمیخته بود ذکر کردند.

²Jesus answered them, “Do you think that these Galileans were worse sinners than all the other Galileans, because they suffered such things?

²عیسی به آنها جواب داد: «آیا تصور می کنید این جَلیلیان که دچار آن سرنوشت شدند از دیگر جَلیلیان خطاکار تر بودند؟

³ I tell you, no, but unless you repent, you will all perish in the same way.

³یقیناً نخیر، اما بدانید که اگر توبه نکنید همۀ شما مانند آنها نابود خواهید شد.

⁴ Or those eighteen, on whom the tower in Siloam fell, and killed them; do you think that they were worse offenders than all the men who dwell in Jerusalem?

⁴و یا آن هجده نفری که در موقع فرو ریختن برجی در سیلوحا کشته شدند، خیال می کنید که از دیگر مردمانی که در اورشلیم زندگی می کردند گناهکارتر بودند؟

⁵ I tell you, no, but, unless you repent, you will all perish in the same way.”

⁵نخیر، بلکه مطمئن باشید اگر توبه نکنید، همۀ شما مانند آنها نابود خواهید شد.»

⁶He spoke this parable. “A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard, and he came seeking fruit on it, and found none.

⁶عیسی برای آنها این مَثَل را آورده گفت: «مردی در تاکستانش درخت انجیری داشت و برای چیدن میوه به آنجا رفت ولی چیزی پیدا نکرد.

⁷ He said to the vine dresser, ‘Behold, these three years I have come looking for fruit on this fig tree, and found none. Cut it down. Why does it waste the soil?’

⁷پس به باغبان گفت: «ببین حالا سه سال است که من می آیم و در این درخت دنبال میوه می گردم ولی چیزی پیدا نکرده ام. آن را ببر، چرا بی سبب زمین را اشغال کند؟»

⁸ He answered, ‘Lord, leave it alone this year also, until I dig around it, and fertilize it.

⁸اما او جواب داد: «ارباب، این یک سال هم بگذار بماند تا من دورش را بکنم و کود بریزم.

⁹ If it bears fruit, fine; but if not, after that, you can cut it down.’”

⁹اگر در موسم آینده میوه آورد، چه بهتر و گرنه امر کن تا آن را ببرند.»»

¹⁰He was teaching in one of the synagogues on the Sabbath day.

¹⁰یک روز سَبَت عیسی در کنیسه ای به تعلیم مشغول بود.

¹¹Behold, there was a woman who had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and she was bent over, and could in no way straighten herself up.

¹¹در آنجا زنی بود که روحی ناپاک او را مدت هجده سال رنجور کرده بود. پشتش خمیده شده بود و نمی توانست راست بایستد.

¹²When Jesus saw her, he called her, and said to her, “Woman, you are freed from your infirmity.”

¹²وقتی عیسی او را دید به او فرمود: «ای زن، تو از بیماری خود شفا یافتی.»

¹³He laid his hands on her, and immediately she stood up straight, and glorified God.

¹³بعد دستهای خود را بر او گذاشت و فوراً قامت او راست شد و به شکرگزاری پرودگار پرداخت.

¹⁴The ruler of the synagogue, being indignant because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath, said to the multitude, “There are six days in which men ought to work. Therefore come on those days and be healed, and not on the Sabbath day!”

¹⁴اما در عوض سرپرست کنیسه از اینکه عیسی در روز سَبَت شفا داده بود، دلگیر شد و به جماعت گفت: «شش روز تعیین شده است که باید کار کرد، در یکی از آن روزها بیائید و شفا بیابید، نه در روز سَبَت.»

¹⁵Therefore the Lord answered him, “You hypocrites! Doesn’t each one of you free his ox or his donkey from the stall on the Sabbath, and lead him away to water?

¹⁵عیسی خداوند در جواب او فرمود: «ای منافقان! آیا کسی در میان شما پیدا می شود که در روز سَبَت گاو یا الاغ خود را از آخور باز نکند و برای آب دادن بیرون نبرد؟

¹⁶ Ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan had bound eighteen long years, be freed from this bondage on the Sabbath day?”

¹⁶پس چه عیب دارد اگر این زن که دختر ابراهیم است و هجده سال گرفتار شیطان بود، در روز سَبَت از این بندها آزاد شود؟»

¹⁷As he said these things, all his adversaries were disappointed, and all the multitude rejoiced for all the glorious things that were done by him.

¹⁷وقتی عیسی این سخنان را فرمود مخالفان او خجل گشتند، در حالی که عموم مردم از اعمال شگفت انگیزی که انجام می داد خوشحال بودند.

¹⁸He said, “What is the Kingdom of God like? To what shall I compare it?

¹⁸عیسی به سخنان خود ادامه داد و فرمود: «پادشاهی خدا مانند چیست؟ آن را به چه چیز تشبیه کنم؟

¹⁹ It is like a grain of mustard seed, which a man took, and put in his own garden. It grew, and became a large tree, and the birds of the sky lodged in its branches.”

¹⁹مانند دانۀ اوری است که شخصی آن را در باغ خود کاشت، آن دانه رشد کرد و درختی شد و پرندگان آمدند و در میان شاخه هایش آشیانه گرفتند.»

²⁰ Again he said, “To what shall I compare the Kingdom of God?

²⁰باز فرمود: «پادشاهی خدا را به چه چیز تشبیه کنم؟

²¹ It is like yeast, which a woman took and hid in three measures literally, three sata. 3 sata is about 39 litres or a bit more than a bushel of flour, until it was all leavened.”

²¹مانند خمیرمایه ای است که زنی آن را با سه پیمانه آرد مخلوط کرد تا تمام خمیر برسد.»

²²He went on his way through cities and villages, teaching, and traveling on to Jerusalem.

²²عیسی به سفر خود در شهرها و دهات ادامه داد و در حالی که بسوی اورشلیم می رفت به مردم تعلیم می داد.

²³One said to him, “Lord, are they few who are saved?” He said to them,

²³شخصی از او پرسید: «ای آقا، آیا فقط عدۀ کمی نجات می یابند؟» عیسی به ایشان گفت:

²⁴ “Strive to enter in by the narrow door, for many, I tell you, will seek to enter in, and will not be able.

²⁴«سخت بکوشید تا خود را به داخل دروازۀ تنگ برسانید و بدانید که عدۀ بسیاری برای ورود کوشش خواهند کرد ولی توفیق نخواهند یافت.

²⁵ When once the master of the house has risen up, and has shut the door, and you begin to stand outside, and to knock at the door, saying, ‘Lord, Lord, open to us!’ then he will answer and tell you, ‘I don’t know you or where you come from.’

²⁵بعد از آن که صاحب خانه برخیزد و در را قفل کند شما خود را بیرون خواهید دید و در آن موقع در را می کوبید و می گویید: «ای آقا، اجازه بفرما به داخل بیائیم.» اما جواب او فقط این خواهد بود: «من نمی دانم شما از کجا آمده اید.»

²⁶ Then you will begin to say, ‘We ate and drank in your presence, and you taught in our streets.’

²⁶بعد شما خواهید گفت: «ما با تو سر یک دسترخوان خوردیم و نوشیدیم و تو در کوچه های ما تعلیم می دادی.»

²⁷ He will say, ‘I tell you, I don’t know where you come from. Depart from me, all you workers of iniquity.’

²⁷اما او باز به شما خواهد گفت: «نمی دانم شما از کجا آمده اید. ای بدکاران همه از پیش چشم من دور شوید.»

²⁸ There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when you see Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and all the prophets, in the Kingdom of God, and yourselves being thrown outside.

²⁸در آن زمان شما که ابراهیم و اسحاق و یعقوب و تمام پیامبران را در پادشاهی خدا می بینید در حالی که خود تان محروم هستید، چقدر گریه خواهید کرد و دندان بر دندان خواهید فشرد.

²⁹ They will come from the east, west, north, and south, and will sit down in the Kingdom of God.

²⁹مردم از مشرق و مغرب و شمال و جنوب خواهند آمد و در پادشاهی خدا بر سر دسترخوان خواهند نشست.

³⁰ Behold, there are some who are last who will be first, and there are some who are first who will be last.”

³⁰بلی، آنها که اکنون آخرین هستند، اولین و آنها که اکنون اولین هستند، آخرین خواهند بود.»

³¹On that same day, some Pharisees came, saying to him, “Get out of here, and go away, for Herod wants to kill you.”

³¹در آن موقع عده ای از پیروان فرقۀ فریسی پیش او آمدند و گفتند: «اینجا را ترک کن و به جای دیگری برو. هیرودیس قصد جان تو را دارد.»

³²He said to them, “Go and tell that fox, ‘Behold, I cast out demons and perform cures today and tomorrow, and the third day I complete my mission.

³²عیسی جواب داد: «بروید و به آن روباه بگویید: من امروز و فردا ارواح ناپاک را بیرون می رانم و شفا می دهم و در روز سوم به هدف خود می رسم.

³³ Nevertheless I must go on my way today and tomorrow and the next day, for it can’t be that a prophet perish outside of Jerusalem.’

³³اما باید امروز و فردا و پس فردا به سفر خود ادامه دهم زیرا این محال است که پیامبر در جایی جز اورشلیم بمیرد.

³⁴ “Jerusalem, Jerusalem, that kills the prophets, and stones those who are sent to her! How often I wanted to gather your children together, like a hen gathers her own brood under her wings, and you refused!

³⁴ای اورشلیم، ای اورشلیم، ای شهری که پیامبران را می کشی و آنانی را که پیش تو فرستاده می شوند سنگسار می کنی! چه بسیار آرزو داشته ام مانند مرغی که جوجه های خود را زیر پر و بالش می گیرد فرزندان تو را به دور خود جمع کنم اما نخواستی.اینک خانۀ شما به خود تان ویران واگذاشته می شود! و بدانید که دیگر مرا نخواهید دید تا آن زمان که بگویید: متبارک است آن کسی که به نام خداوند می آید.»

³⁵ Behold, your house is left to you desolate. I tell you, you will not see me, until you say, ‘Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!’” Psalm 118:26

³⁵اینک خانۀ شما به خود تان ویران واگذاشته می شود! و بدانید که دیگر مرا نخواهید دید تا آن زمان که بگویید: متبارک است آن کسی که به نام خداوند می آید.»
