¹But on the first day of the week, at early dawn, they and some others came to the tomb, bringing the spices which they had prepared.

¹در روز اول هفته (یکشنبه) صبح وقت سرقبر آمدند و حنوطی را که تهیه کرده بودند، با خود آوردند.

²They found the stone rolled away from the tomb.

²آن ها دیدند که سنگ از در مقبره به کنار غلطانیده شده

³They entered in, and didn’t find the Lord Jesus’ body.

³و وقتی به داخل رفتند از جسد عیسی اثری نبود.

⁴It happened, while they were greatly perplexed about this, behold, two men stood by them in dazzling clothing.

⁴پریشان و نگران در آنجا ایستاده بودند که ناگهان دو مرد با لباس های نورانی در پهلوی شان ایستادند.

⁵Becoming terrified, they bowed their faces down to the earth. They said to them, “Why do you seek the living among the dead?

⁵زنان سخت ترسیدند و در حالی که سرهای خود را به زیر انداخته بودند ایستادند. آن دو مرد گفتند: «چرا زنده را در میان مردگان می جویید؟

⁶He isn’t here, but is risen. Remember what he told you when he was still in Galilee,

⁶او اینجا نیست بلکه زنده شده است. آنچه را در وقت بودن در جلیل به شما گفت به یاد بیاورید

⁷saying that the Son of Man must be delivered up into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again?”

⁷که چطور پسر انسان می بایست به دست خطاکاران تسلیم گردد و مصلوب شود و در روز سوم زنده شود.»

⁸They remembered his words,

⁸آن وقت زنان سخنان او را به خاطر آوردند

⁹returned from the tomb, and told all these things to the eleven, and to all the rest.

⁹و وقتی از سر قبر برگشتند تمام موضوع را به یازده حواری و دیگران گزارش دادند.

¹⁰Now they were Mary Magdalene, Joanna, and Mary the mother of James. The other women with them told these things to the apostles.

¹⁰آن زنان عبارت بودند از مریم مجدلیه، یونا و مریم مادر یعقوب. زنان دیگر هم که با آنها بودند، جریان را به رسولان گفتند.

¹¹These words seemed to them to be nonsense, and they didn’t believe them.

¹¹اما موضوع به نظر آنها پوچ و بی معنی آمد و سخنان آنها را باور نمی کردند

¹²But Peter got up and ran to the tomb. Stooping and looking in, he saw the strips of linen lying by themselves, and he departed to his home, wondering what had happened.

¹²اما پِترُس برخاست و به سوی قبر دوید و خم شده نگاه کرد، ولی چیزی جز کفن ندید. سپس در حالی که از این واقعه در حیرت بود به خانه برگشت.

¹³Behold, two of them were going that very day to a village named Emmaus, which was sixty stadia 60 stadia = about 11 kilometers or about 7 miles. from Jerusalem.

¹³همان روز دو نفر از آنها به سوی دهکده ای به نام عِمائوس که تقریباً در دو فرسنگی اورشلیم واقع شده است می رفتند.

¹⁴They talked with each other about all of these things which had happened.

¹⁴آن دو دربارۀ همه این واقعات صحبت می کردند.

¹⁵It happened, while they talked and questioned together, that Jesus himself came near, and went with them.

¹⁵همینطور که سرگرم صحبت و مباحثه بودند خود عیسی نزدیک شد و با آنها همراه شد.

¹⁶But their eyes were kept from recognizing him.

¹⁶اما چیزی پیش چشمان آن ها را گرفت، بطوریکه او را نشناختند.

¹⁷He said to them, “What are you talking about as you walk, and are sad?”

¹⁷عیسی از آنها پرسید: «موضوع بحث شما در بین راه چیست؟» آن ها در جای خود ایستادند. غم و اندوه از چهره های ایشان پیدا بود.

¹⁸One of them, named Cleopas, answered him, “Are you the only stranger in Jerusalem who doesn’t know the things which have happened there in these days?”

¹⁸یکی از آن دو که نامش کلِیوپاس بود جواب داد: «گویا در میان مسافران ساکن اورشلیم تنها تو از وقایع چند روز اخیر بی خبر هستی!»

¹⁹He said to them, “What things?” They said to him, “The things concerning Jesus, the Nazarene, who was a prophet mighty in deed and word before God and all the people;

¹⁹عیسی پرسید: «موضوع چیست؟» جواب دادند: «عیسی ناصری مردی بود که در گفتار و کردار در پیشگاه خدا و پیش همۀ مردم پیامبری توانا بود،

²⁰and how the chief priests and our rulers delivered him up to be condemned to death, and crucified him.

²⁰اما سران کاهنان و حکمرانان ما او را تسلیم کردند تا به مرگ محکوم شود و او را به صلیب میخکوب کردند.

²¹But we were hoping that it was he who would redeem Israel. Yes, and besides all this, it is now the third day since these things happened.

²¹امید ما این بود که او آن کسی باشد که می بایست اسرائیل را رهایی دهد. از آن گذشته حالا سه روز است که این کار انجام شده است.

²²Also, certain women of our company amazed us, having arrived early at the tomb;

²²علاوه براین، چند نفر زن از نفر های ما، ما را حیران کرده اند. ایشان سحرگاه امروز به سر قبر رفتند،

²³and when they didn’t find his body, they came saying that they had also seen a vision of angels, who said that he was alive.

²³اما موفق به پیدا کردن جنازه نشدند. آن ها برگشته اند و می گویند در رؤیا فرشتگانی را دیدند که به آنها گفته اند او زنده است.

²⁴Some of us went to the tomb, and found it just like the women had said, but they didn’t see him.”

²⁴پس عده ای از نفرهای ما سر قبر رفتند و اوضاع را همانطور که زنان گفته بودند دیدند، اما او را ندیدند.»

²⁵He said to them, “Foolish men, and slow of heart to believe in all that the prophets have spoken!

²⁵سپس عیسی به آنها فرمود: «شما چقدر دیر فهم و در قبول کردن گفته های انبیاء کند ذهن هستید.

²⁶ Didn’t the Christ have to suffer these things and to enter into his glory?”

²⁶آیا نمی باید که مسیح پیش از ورود به جلال خود همینطور رنج ببیند؟»

²⁷Beginning from Moses and from all the prophets, he explained to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning himself.

²⁷آن وقت از تورات موسی و نوشته های انبیاء شروع کرد و در هر قسمت آیاتی را که دربارۀ خودش بود برای آنها بیان فرمود.

²⁸They drew near to the village, where they were going, and he acted like he would go further.

²⁸در این هنگام نزدیک دهکده ای که به طرف آن می رفتند رسیدند و گویا او می خواست به راه خود ادامه دهد.

²⁹They urged him, saying, “Stay with us, for it is almost evening, and the day is almost over.” He went in to stay with them.

²⁹اما به او اصرار کردند: «پیش ما بمان چون غروب نزدیک است و روز تقریباً به پایان رسیده.» بنابراین عیسی داخل خانه شد تا پیش ایشان بماند.

³⁰It happened, that when he had sat down at the table with them, he took the bread and gave thanks. Breaking it, he gave to them.

³⁰وقتی با آنها سر دسترخوان نشست نان را برداشت و پس از دعای سپاسگزاری آنرا پاره کرد و به ایشان داد.

³¹Their eyes were opened, and they recognized him, and he vanished out of their sight.

³¹در این وقت چشمان ایشان باز شد و او را شناختند، ولی فوراً از نظر آن ها ناپدید شد.

³²They said one to another, “Weren’t our hearts burning within us, while he spoke to us along the way, and while he opened the Scriptures to us?”

³²آن ها به یکدیگر گفتند: «دیدی وقتی در راه با ما صحبت می کرد و کتب را تفسیر می کرد، چطور دل های ما می طپید!»

³³They rose up that very hour, returned to Jerusalem, and found the eleven gathered together, and those who were with them,

³³آن ها فوراً حرکت کردند و به اورشلیم بازگشتند. در آنجا دیدند که آن یازده حواری همراه دیگران دور هم جمع شده

³⁴saying, “The Lord is risen indeed, and has appeared to Simon!”

³⁴می گفتند: «بلی، در واقع خداوند زنده شده است. شمعون او را دیده است.»

³⁵They related the things that happened along the way, and how he was recognized by them in the breaking of the bread.

³⁵آن دو نفر نیز وقایع سفر خود را بیان کردند و گفتند که چطور او را در وقت پاره کردن نان شناختند.

³⁶As they said these things, Jesus himself stood among them, and said to them, “Peace be to you.”

³⁶در حالی که شاگردان دربارۀ این چیزها صحبت می کردند عیسی در بین ایشان ایستاده به آن ها گفت: «صلح و سلامتی بر شما باد.»

³⁷But they were terrified and filled with fear, and supposed that they had seen a spirit.

³⁷آن ها با ترس و وحشت، گمان کردند که شبحی می بینند.

³⁸He said to them, “Why are you troubled? Why do doubts arise in your hearts?

³⁸او فرمود: «چرا اینطور آشفته حال هستید؟ چرا شک و شبهه به دل های شما رخنه می کند؟

³⁹ See my hands and my feet, that it is truly me. Touch me and see, for a spirit doesn’t have flesh and bones, as you see that I have.”

³⁹دستها و پاهای مرا ببینید، خودم هستم، به من دست بزنید و ببینید، شبح مانند من گوشت و استخوان ندارد.»

⁴⁰When he had said this, he showed them his hands and his feet.

⁴⁰این را گفت و دستها و پاهای خود را به ایشان نشان داد.

⁴¹While they still didn’t believe for joy, and wondered, he said to them, “Do you have anything here to eat?”

⁴¹از خوشی و تعجب نتوانستند این چیزها را باور کنند. آنگاه عیسی از آنها پرسید: «آیا در اینجا خوراکی دارید؟»

⁴²They gave him a piece of a broiled fish and some honeycomb.

⁴²یک تکه ماهی بریان پیش او آوردند.

⁴³He took them, and ate in front of them.

⁴³آن را برداشت و پیش چشم آنها خورد.

⁴⁴He said to them, “This is what I told you, while I was still with you, that all things which are written in the law of Moses, the prophets, and the psalms, concerning me must be fulfilled.”

⁴⁴و به ایشان فرمود: «وقتی هنوز با شما بودم و می گفتم که هر چه در تورات موسی و نوشته های انبیاء و زبور دربارۀ من نوشته شده باید به انجام برسد، مقصدم همین چیزها بود.»

⁴⁵Then he opened their minds, that they might understand the Scriptures.

⁴⁵بعد ذهن ایشان را باز کرد تا کلام خدا را بفهمند،

⁴⁶He said to them, “Thus it is written, and thus it was necessary for the Christ to suffer and to rise from the dead the third day,

⁴⁶و فرمود: «این است آنچه نوشته شده، که مسیح باید عذاب مرگ را ببیند و در روز سوم دوباره زنده شود

⁴⁷ and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name to all the nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

⁴⁷و به نام او توبه و آمرزش گناهان به همه ملت ها اعلام گردد و شروع آن از اورشلیم باشد.

⁴⁸ You are witnesses of these things.

⁴⁸شما بر همۀ اینها شاهد هستید.

⁴⁹ Behold, I send forth the promise of my Father on you. But wait in the city of Jerusalem until you are clothed with power from on high.”

⁴⁹خود من بخشش وعده شدۀ پدرم را بر شما می فرستم. پس تا زمانی که قدرت خدا از عالم بالا بر شما نازل شود در این شهر بمانید.»

⁵⁰He led them out as far as Bethany, and he lifted up his hands, and blessed them.

⁵⁰بعد آنها را تا نزدیکی بیت عَنیا بُرد و با دست های برافراشه ایشان را برکت داد.

⁵¹It happened, while he blessed them, that he withdrew from them, and was carried up into heaven.

⁵¹در حالی که آنها را برکت می داد از آنها جدا و به عالم بالا برده شد

⁵²They worshiped him, and returned to Jerusalem with great joy,

⁵²و ایشان او را پرستش کردند و سپس با خوشی بزرگ به اورشلیم برگشتندو تمام اوقات خود را در عبادتگاه صرف حمد و سپاس خدا کردند.

⁵³and were continually in the temple, praising and blessing God. Amen.

⁵³و تمام اوقات خود را در عبادتگاه صرف حمد و سپاس خدا کردند.
