¹He called to himself his twelve disciples, and gave them authority over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal every disease and every sickness.

¹عیسی دوازده حواری را پیش خود خواست و به آنها قدرت داد تا ارواح ناپاک را بیرون کنند و هر نوع بیماری و مرض را شفا بخشند.

²Now the names of the twelve apostles are these. The first, Simon, who is called Peter; Andrew, his brother; James the son of Zebedee; John, his brother;

²این است نام های آن دوازده رسول: اول شَمعونِ معروف به پِترُس و برادرش اندریاس، یعقوب پسر زَبدی و برادرش یوحنا،

³Philip; Bartholomew; Thomas; Matthew the tax collector; James the son of Alphaeus; Lebbaeus, whose surname was NU omits “Lebbaeus, whose surname was” Thaddaeus;

³فیلیپُس و بَرتولما، توما و متای جزیه گیر، یعقوب پسر حَلفی و تَدی،

⁴Simon the Canaanite; and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed him.

⁴شَمعونِ غیور و یهودای اسخریوطی که عیسی را به دست دشمنان تسلیم کرد.

⁵Jesus sent these twelve out, and commanded them, saying, “Don’t go among the Gentiles, and don’t enter into any city of the Samaritans.

⁵عیسی این دوازده نفر را به وظیفه فرستاده به آن ها گفت: «از سرزمین های غیر یهود عبور نکنید و به هیچ یک از شهرهای سامریان داخل نشوید،

⁶ Rather, go to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

⁶بلکه نزد گوسفندان گمشدۀ خاندان اسرائیل بروید

⁷ As you go, preach, saying, ‘The Kingdom of Heaven is at hand!’

⁷و در بین راه اعلام کنید که پادشاهی آسمانی نزدیک است.

⁸ Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers TR adds “, raise the dead” , and cast out demons. Freely you received, so freely give.

⁸بیماران را شفا دهید، مردگان را زنده کنید، جذامیان را پاک سازید و ارواح ناپاک را بیرون کنید. مفت یافته اید، مفت بدهید.

⁹ Don’t take any gold, nor silver, nor brass in your money belts.

⁹برای سفر، طلا و نقره و مس با خود نبرید.

¹⁰ Take no bag for your journey, neither two coats, nor shoes, nor staff: for the laborer is worthy of his food.

¹⁰و خرجین یا پیراهن اضافی و بوت و چوب دستی برندارید، چون کارگر مستحق معاش خود می باشد.

¹¹ Into whatever city or village you enter, find out who in it is worthy; and stay there until you go on.

¹¹به هر شهر و ده که داخل می شوید دنبال کسی بگردید، که شایسته باشد و تا زمانی که در آنجا هستید در منزل او بمانید.

¹² As you enter into the household, greet it.

¹²وقتی به خانه ای داخل می شوید سلام بگویید.

¹³ If the household is worthy, let your peace come on it, but if it isn’t worthy, let your peace return to you.

¹³اگر آن خانواده لایق آن باشد سلام شما بر آن ها قرار می گیرد و اگر شایسته نباشد، سلام شما به خود تان بر می گردد.

¹⁴ Whoever doesn’t receive you, nor hear your words, as you go out of that house or that city, shake off the dust from your feet.

¹⁴اگر کسی شما را نپذیرد و یا به آنچه می گویید گوش ندهد، وقتی که آن خانه یا آن شهر را ترک می کنید، گرد و خاک آن را از پای خود بتکانید.

¹⁵ Most certainly I tell you, it will be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah in the day of judgment than for that city.

¹⁵بدانید که در روز قیامت حالت سَدوم و غموره از آن شهر بهتر خواهد بود.

¹⁶ “Behold, I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves. Therefore be wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.

¹⁶خوب توجه کنید، من شما را مانند گوسفندان به میان گرگ ها می فرستم. پس مثل مار هوشیار و مانند کبوتر، بی آزار باشید.

¹⁷ But beware of men: for they will deliver you up to councils, and in their synagogues they will scourge you.

¹⁷هوشیار باشید، زیرا مردم شما را تحویل محکمه ها خواهند کرد، و شما را در کنیسه ها تازیانه خواهند زد

¹⁸ Yes, and you will be brought before governors and kings for my sake, for a testimony to them and to the nations.

¹⁸و شما را به خاطر من پیش فرمانروایان و پادشاهان خواهند برد تا در برابر آنها و مردم بیگانه شهادت دهید.

¹⁹ But when they deliver you up, don’t be anxious how or what you will say, for it will be given you in that hour what you will say.

¹⁹اما وقتی شما را دستگیر می کنند، پریشان نباشید که چه چیز و چطور بگوئید چون در همان وقت آنچه باید بگوئید به شما داده خواهد شد،

²⁰ For it is not you who speak, but the Spirit of your Father who speaks in you.

²⁰زیرا گوینده شما نیستید، بلکه روح پدر آسمانی شما است که در شما سخن می گوید.

²¹ “Brother will deliver up brother to death, and the father his child. Children will rise up against parents, and cause them to be put to death.

²¹برادر، برادر را و پدر، پسر را تسلیم مرگ خواهد نمود. فرزندان بر ضد والدین خود برخواهند خاست و باعث کشتن آن ها خواهند شد.

²² You will be hated by all men for my name’s sake, but he who endures to the end will be saved.

²²همۀ مردم به خاطر نام من که شما بر خود دارید، از شما نفرت خواهند داشت، اما کسی که تا آخر ثابت بماند نجات خواهد یافت.

²³ But when they persecute you in this city, flee into the next, for most certainly I tell you, you will not have gone through the cities of Israel, until the Son of Man has come.

²³هرگاه شما را در شهری آزار می رسانند به شهر دیگر پناهنده شوید. بدانید که پیش از آنکه به تمام شهرهای اسرائیل بروید، پسر انسان خواهد آمد.

²⁴ “A disciple is not above his teacher, nor a servant above his lord.

²⁴شاگرد از معلم خود و خادم از ارباب خویش بالا تر نیست.

²⁵ It is enough for the disciple that he be like his teacher, and the servant like his lord. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebul, how much more those of his household!

²⁵شاگرد می خواهد به مقام معلم خود برسد و خادم به مقام ارباب خویش. اگر پدر خانه را شیطان بخوانند، چه نسبت های بدتری به اهل خانه اش خواهند داد.

²⁶ Therefore don’t be afraid of them, for there is nothing covered that will not be revealed; and hidden that will not be known.

²⁶پس نترسید، هر چه پوشیده است، پرده از روی آن برداشته می شود و هر چه پنهان است آشکار خواهد شد.

²⁷ What I tell you in the darkness, speak in the light; and what you hear whispered in the ear, proclaim on the housetops.

²⁷آنچه را من در تاریکی به شما می گویم، در روز روشن اعلام کنید و آنچه را محرمانه می شنوید، از بام خانه ها با صدای بلند بگویید.

²⁸ Don’t be afraid of those who kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul. Rather, fear him who is able to destroy both soul and body in Gehenna. or, Hell.

²⁸از کسانی که جسم را می کشند ولی قادر به کشتن جان نیستند نترسید. از کسی بترسید که قادر است جسم و جان، هر دو را در دوزخ تباه سازد.

²⁹ “Aren’t two sparrows sold for an assarion coin An assarion is a small coin worth one tenth of a drachma or a sixteenth of a denarius. An assarion is approximately the wages of one half hour of agricultural labor. ? Not one of them falls on the ground apart from your Father’s will,

²⁹آیا دو گنجشک به یک روپیه فروخته نمی شود؟ باوجود این، بدون اجازۀ پدر آسمانی شما حتی یکی از آن ها به زمین نخواهد افتاد.

³⁰ but the very hairs of your head are all numbered.

³⁰و اما در مورد شما، حتی موهای سر شما شمرده شده است.

³¹ Therefore don’t be afraid. You are of more value than many sparrows.

³¹پس نترسید، شما از گنجشک های بی شمار بیشتر ارزش دارید.

³² Everyone therefore who confesses me before men, him I will also confess before my Father who is in heaven.

³²پس هرکس در برابر مردم خود را از من بداند من نیز در برابر پدر آسمانی خود او را از خود خواهم دانست.

³³ But whoever denies me before men, him I will also deny before my Father who is in heaven.

³³اما هرکه در برابر مردم بگوید، که مرا نمی شناسد من نیز در حضور پدر آسمانی خود خواهم گفت که او را نمی شناسم.

³⁴ “Don’t think that I came to send peace on the earth. I didn’t come to send peace, but a sword.

³⁴گمان نکنید که آمده ام تا صلح به زمین بیاورم، نیامده ام که صلح بیاورم بلکه شمشیر.

³⁵ For I came to set a man at odds against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law.

³⁵من آمده ام تا در میان پسر و پدر، دختر و مادر، عروس و خشو اختلاف بیاندازم.

³⁶ A man’s foes will be those of his own household. Micah 7:6

³⁶دشمنان شخص، اعضای خانواده خود او خواهند بود.

³⁷ He who loves father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; and he who loves son or daughter more than me isn’t worthy of me.

³⁷هرکه پدر یا مادر خود را بیشتر از من دوست داشته باشد، لایق من نیست و هر کس که دختر یا پسر خود را بیش از من دوست بدارد، لایق من نمی باشد.

³⁸ He who doesn’t take his cross and follow after me, isn’t worthy of me.

³⁸هر که صلیب خود را برندارد و به دنبال من نیاید، لایق من نیست.

³⁹ He who seeks his life will lose it; and he who loses his life for my sake will find it.

³⁹هرکسی که فقط در فکر زندگی خود باشد، آن را از دست خواهد داد؛ ولی کسی که به خاطر من زندگی خود را از دست بدهد، زندگی او در امان خواهد بود.

⁴⁰ He who receives you receives me, and he who receives me receives him who sent me.

⁴⁰هر که شما را بپذیرد، مرا پذیرفته و هر که مرا بپذیرد کسی را که مرا فرستاد پذیرفته است.

⁴¹ He who receives a prophet in the name of a prophet will receive a prophet’s reward. He who receives a righteous man in the name of a righteous man will receive a righteous man’s reward.

⁴¹هرکس یک نبی را به خاطر اینکه نبی است بپذیرد، اجر یک نبی را به دست خواهد آورد و هر کس شخص عادل را بخاطر اینکه عادل است بپذیرد، اجر یک عادل را خواهد یافت.بیقین بدانید که هرگاه کسی به یکی از کوچکترین پیروان من، به خاطر اینکه پیرو من است، حتی یک جام آب سرد بدهد، به هیچ وجه بی اجر نخواهد ماند.»

⁴² Whoever gives one of these little ones just a cup of cold water to drink in the name of a disciple, most certainly I tell you he will in no way lose his reward.”

⁴²بیقین بدانید که هرگاه کسی به یکی از کوچکترین پیروان من، به خاطر اینکه پیرو من است، حتی یک جام آب سرد بدهد، به هیچ وجه بی اجر نخواهد ماند.»
