¹The Pharisees and Sadducees came, and testing him, asked him to show them a sign from heaven.

¹پیروان فرقه های فریسی و صدوقی پیش آمده از روی امتحان از عیسی خواستند که معجزه آسمانی به آنها نشان دهد.

²But he answered them, “When it is evening, you say, ‘It will be fair weather, for the sky is red.’

²عیسی در جواب آن ها گفت: «در وقت غروب اگر آسمان سرخ باشد شما می گویید هوا خوب خواهد بود

³ In the morning, ‘It will be foul weather today, for the sky is red and threatening.’ Hypocrites! You know how to discern the appearance of the sky, but you can’t discern the signs of the times!

³و اگر صبح وقت آسمان سرخ و گرفته باشد می گوئید باران خواهد بارید. شما که می توانید با نگاه کردن به آسمان هوا را پیش بینی کنید، چگونه نمی توانید معنی علائم و نشانه های این زمان را درک کنید؟

⁴ An evil and adulterous generation seeks after a sign, and there will be no sign given to it, except the sign of the prophet Jonah.” He left them, and departed.

⁴این نسل شریر و بی وفا جویای معجزه است و معجزه ای به جز معجزۀ یونس نبی به آن داده نخواهد شد.» پس از آن عیسی آن ها را ترک کرد و از آنجا رفت.

⁵The disciples came to the other side and had forgotten to take bread.

⁵شاگردان به آن طرف بحیره می رفتند ولی فراموش کرده بودند که با خود نان ببرند.

⁶Jesus said to them, “Take heed and beware of the yeast of the Pharisees and Sadducees.”

⁶پس وقتی عیسی به ایشان فرمود: «از خمیرمایۀ فرقه های فریسی و صدوقی دور باشید و احتیاط کنید.»

⁷They reasoned among themselves, saying, “We brought no bread.”

⁷آن ها در بین خود صحبت کرده می گفتند: «چون ما نان همراه خود نیاورده ایم او چنین می گوید.»

⁸Jesus, perceiving it, said, “Why do you reason among yourselves, you of little faith, ‘because you have brought no bread?’

⁸عیسی این را درک کرد و به ایشان گفت: «ای کم ایمانان، چرا دربارۀ نداشتن نان صحبت می کنید؟

⁹ Don’t you yet perceive, neither remember the five loaves for the five thousand, and how many baskets you took up?

⁹آیا هنوز هم نمی فهمید؟ آیا آن پنج نان و پنج هزار مرد را بخاطر ندارید؟ چند سبد جمع کردید؟

¹⁰ Nor the seven loaves for the four thousand, and how many baskets you took up?

¹⁰یا در مورد آن هفت نان و چهار هزار مرد، چند سبد جمع کردید؟

¹¹ How is it that you don’t perceive that I didn’t speak to you concerning bread? But beware of the yeast of the Pharisees and Sadducees.”

¹¹چرا نمی توانید بفهمید که من دربارۀ نان صحبت نمی کردم؟ من فقط گفتم که از خمیرمایۀ فرقه های فریسی و صدوقی احتیاط کنید.»

¹²Then they understood that he didn’t tell them to beware of the yeast of bread, but of the teaching of the Pharisees and Sadducees.

¹²آنگاه فهمیدند که عیسی از آنها می خواهد، که از تعالیم فرقه های فریسی و صدوقی احتیاط کنند، نه از خمیرمایۀ نان.

¹³Now when Jesus came into the parts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, “Who do men say that I, the Son of Man, am?”

¹³وقتی عیسی به نواحی اطراف قیصریه فیلیپُس رسید از شاگردان خود پرسید: «به نظر مردم پسر انسان کیست؟»

¹⁴They said, “Some say John the Baptizer, some, Elijah, and others, Jeremiah, or one of the prophets.”

¹⁴آن ها جواب دادند: «بعضی ها می گویند یحیای تعمید دهنده است و عده ای می گویند: الیاس یا ارمیا و یا یکی از انبیا است.»

¹⁵He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?”

¹⁵عیسی پرسید: «شما مرا که می دانید؟»

¹⁶Simon Peter answered, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”

¹⁶شمعون پِترُس جواب داد: «تو مسیح، پسر خدای زنده هستی.»

¹⁷Jesus answered him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my Father who is in heaven.

¹⁷آنگاه عیسی گفت: «ای شمعون پسر یونا، خوشا بحال تو! چون تو این را از انسان نیاموختی بلکه پدر آسمانی من آن را بر تو آشکار ساخته است.

¹⁸ I also tell you that you are Peter, Peter’s name, Petros in Greek, is the word for a specific rock or stone. and on this rock Greek, petra, a rock mass or bedrock. I will build my assembly, and the gates of Hades or, Hell will not prevail against it.

¹⁸و به تو می گویم که تو پِترُس هستی و من بر این صخره کلیسای خود را بنا می کنم و نیروهای مرگ هرگز بر آن دست نخواهد یافت

¹⁹ I will give to you the keys of the Kingdom of Heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will have been bound in heaven; and whatever you release on earth will have been released in heaven.”

¹⁹و کلیدهای پادشاهی آسمانی را به تو می دهم، آنچه را که تو در زمین ببندی در آسمان بسته خواهد شد و هرچه را که در روی زمین باز نمایی در آسمان باز خواهد شد.»

²⁰Then he commanded the disciples that they should tell no one that he was Jesus the Christ.

²⁰بعد از آن عیسی به شاگردان امر کرد به کسی نگویند که او مسیح است.

²¹From that time, Jesus began to show his disciples that he must go to Jerusalem and suffer many things from the elders, chief priests, and scribes, and be killed, and the third day be raised up.

²¹از آن زمان عیسی به آشکار ساختن این حقیقت پرداخت و به شاگردان خود گفت که او می بایست به اورشلیم برود و در آنجا از مشایخ، سران کاهنان و علمای دین یهود رنج بسیار ببیند و کشته شود و روز سوم زنده گردد.

²²Peter took him aside, and began to rebuke him, saying, “Far be it from you, Lord! This will never be done to you.”

²²اما پِترُس عیسی را به کناری کشید و با اعتراض به او گفت: «خدا نکند! نخیر، خداوندا، هرگز برای تو چنین واقع نخواهد شد.»

²³But he turned, and said to Peter, “Get behind me, Satan! You are a stumbling block to me, for you are not setting your mind on the things of God, but on the things of men.”

²³عیسی برگشته به پِترُس گفت: «دور شو، ای شیطان، تو مانع راه من هستی و افکار تو افکار انسانی است، نه خدایی.»

²⁴Then Jesus said to his disciples, “If anyone desires to come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.

²⁴سپس عیسی به شاگردان خود فرمود: «اگر کسی بخواهد پیرو من باشد باید دست از جان خود بشوید و صلیب خود را برداشته بدنبال من بیاید.

²⁵ For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, and whoever will lose his life for my sake will find it.

²⁵زیرا هر که بخواهد جان خود را حفظ کند آن را از دست می دهد، اما هر که بخاطر من جان خود را فدا کند آن را نگاه خواهد داشت.

²⁶ For what will it profit a man, if he gains the whole world, and forfeits his life? Or what will a man give in exchange for his life?

²⁶برای انسان چه فایده دارد که تمام جهان را ببرد، اما جان خود را از دست بدهد؟ زیرا او دیگر به هیچ قیمتی نمی تواند آن را باز یابد.

²⁷ For the Son of Man will come in the glory of his Father with his angels, and then he will render to everyone according to his deeds.

²⁷پسر انسان با جلال پدر خود همراه با فرشتگان می آید و به هرکس مطابق اعمالش اجر می دهد.آمین، به شما می گویم، بعضی کسانی در اینجا ایستاده اند که تا آمدن پسر انسان را نبینند که در پادشاهیِ خود می آید، طعم مرگ را نخواهند چشید.»

²⁸ Most certainly I tell you, there are some standing here who will in no way taste of death, until they see the Son of Man coming in his Kingdom.”

²⁸آمین، به شما می گویم، بعضی کسانی در اینجا ایستاده اند که تا آمدن پسر انسان را نبینند که در پادشاهیِ خود می آید، طعم مرگ را نخواهند چشید.»
