¹When they drew near to Jerusalem, and came to Bethsphage, TR & NU read “Bethphage” instead of “Bethsphage” to the Mount of Olives, then Jesus sent two disciples,

¹وقتی عیسی و شاگردان به نزدیکی های اورشلیم و به دهکدۀ بیت فاجی واقع در کوه زیتون رسیدند عیسی دو نفر از شاگردان خود را فرستاد

²saying to them, “Go into the village that is opposite you, and immediately you will find a donkey tied, and a colt with her. Untie them, and bring them to me.

²و به آن ها گفت: «به دهکدۀ مقابل بروید. نزدیک دروازۀ آن، الاغی را با کره اش بسته خواهید یافت. آن ها را باز کنید و پیش من بیاورید.

³ If anyone says anything to you, you shall say, ‘The Lord needs them,’ and immediately he will send them.”

³اگر کسی به شما حرفی زد بگویید که خداوند به آن ها احتیاج دارد و او به شما اجازه خواهد داد که آن ها را فوراً بیاورید.»

⁴All this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken through the prophet, saying,

⁴و به این وسیله پیشگویی پیغمبر تمام شد که می فرماید:

⁵“Tell the daughter of Zion, behold, your King comes to you, humble, and riding on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey.” Zechariah 9:9

⁵«به دختر سهیون بگویید: اینک پادشاه تو است که بر الاغی نشسته و بر کره چهار پایی سوار است و با شکستگی نزد تو می آید.»

⁶The disciples went, and did just as Jesus commanded them,

⁶آن دو شاگرد رفتند و آنچه به آن ها گفته شده بود انجام دادند.

⁷and brought the donkey and the colt, and laid their clothes on them; and he sat on them.

⁷و آن الاغ و کره اش را آوردند و آنگاه لباسهای خود را بر پشت آن ها انداختند و عیسی سوار شد.

⁸A very great multitude spread their clothes on the road. Others cut branches from the trees, and spread them on the road.

⁸جمعیت زیادی جاده را با لباسهای خود فرش کردند و بعضی، شاخه های درختان را می بریدند و در راه می گسترانیدند.

⁹The multitudes who went before him, and who followed kept shouting, “Hosanna “Hosanna” means “save us” or “help us, we pray.” to the son of David! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest!” Psalm 118:26

⁹آنگاه جمعیتی که پیش روی می رفتند و آن ها که از عقب می آمدند فریاد می زدند و می گفتند: «مبارک باد پسر داود، فرخنده باد آن کسی که به نام خداوند می آید. خدای متعال او را مبارک سازد.»

¹⁰When he had come into Jerusalem, all the city was stirred up, saying, “Who is this?”

¹⁰همین که عیسی داخل اورشلیم شد تمام مردم شهر به هیجان آمدند و عده ای می پرسیدند: «این شخص کیست؟»

¹¹The multitudes said, “This is the prophet, Jesus, from Nazareth of Galilee.”

¹¹جمعیت جواب می دادند: «این عیسی پیامبر است که از ناصرۀ جلیل آمده است.»

¹²Jesus entered into the temple of God, and drove out all of those who sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the money changers’ tables and the seats of those who sold the doves.

¹²آنگاه عیسی به داخل عبادتگاه رفت و همۀ کسانی را که در عبادتگاه به خرید و فروش مشغول بودند بیرون راند. او میزهای صرافان و جایگاه های کبوتر فروشان را چپه کرد

¹³He said to them, “It is written, ‘My house shall be called a house of prayer,’ Isaiah 56:7 but you have made it a den of robbers!” Jeremiah 7:11

¹³و به آنها گفت: «نوشته شده است: خانۀ من جای عبادت خوانده خواهد شد. اما شما آن را لانۀ دزدان ساخته اید.»

¹⁴The blind and the lame came to him in the temple, and he healed them.

¹⁴نابینایان و مفلوجان در عبادتگاه به نزد او آمدند و او آن ها را شفا داد.

¹⁵But when the chief priests and the scribes saw the wonderful things that he did, and the children who were crying in the temple and saying, “Hosanna to the son of David!” they were indignant,

¹⁵سران کاهنان و علمای دین وقتی معجزات بزرگ عیسی را دیدند و شنیدند که کودکان در عبادتگاه فریاد می زدند: «مبارک باد پسر داود» خشمگین شدند.

¹⁶and said to him, “Do you hear what these are saying?” Jesus said to them, “Yes. Did you never read, ‘Out of the mouth of babes and nursing babies you have perfected praise?’” Psalm 8:2

¹⁶آن ها از عیسی پرسیدند: «آیا می شنوی اینها چه می گویند؟» عیسی جواب داد: «بلی می شنوم! مگر نخوانده اید که کودکان و شیرخوارگان را می آموزی تا زبان آن ها به حمد و ثنای تو بپردازند؟»

¹⁷He left them, and went out of the city to Bethany, and lodged there.

¹⁷آنگاه آنها را ترک کرد و از شهر خارج شد و به بیت عنیا رفت و شب را در آنجا گذرانید.

¹⁸Now in the morning, as he returned to the city, he was hungry.

¹⁸صبح روز بعد وقتی عیسی به شهر برگشت، گرسنه شد

¹⁹Seeing a fig tree by the road, he came to it, and found nothing on it but leaves. He said to it, “Let there be no fruit from you forever!” Immediately the fig tree withered away.

¹⁹و در کنار جاده درخت انجیری دیده به طرف آن رفت اما جز برگ چیزی در آن نیافت. پس آن درخت را خطاب کرده فرمود: «تو دیگر هرگز ثمر نخواهی آورد.» و آن درخت در همان لحظه خشک شد.

²⁰When the disciples saw it, they marveled, saying, “How did the fig tree immediately wither away?”

²⁰شاگردان از دیدن آن تعجب کرده پرسیدند: «چرا این درخت به این زودی خشک شد؟»

²¹Jesus answered them, “Most certainly I tell you, if you have faith, and don’t doubt, you will not only do what was done to the fig tree, but even if you told this mountain, ‘Be taken up and cast into the sea,’ it would be done.

²¹عیسی در جواب به آنها گفت: «بیقین بدانید که اگر ایمان داشته باشید و شک نکنید، نه تنها قادر خواهید بود آنچه را که نسبت به این درخت انجام شد انجام دهید، بلکه اگر به این کوه بگویید که از جای خود کنده و به بحر پرتاب شود چنین خواهد شد

²² All things, whatever you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive.”

²²و هرچه با ایمان در دعا طلب کنید خواهید یافت.»

²³When he had come into the temple, the chief priests and the elders of the people came to him as he was teaching, and said, “By what authority do you do these things? Who gave you this authority?”

²³عیسی داخل عبادتگاه شد و به تعلیم مردم پرداخت. سران کاهنان و بزرگان قوم نزد او آمده پرسیدند: «با چه اجازه ای دست به چنین کارهایی می زنی و چه کسی این اختیار را به تو داده است؟»

²⁴Jesus answered them, “I also will ask you one question, which if you tell me, I likewise will tell you by what authority I do these things.

²⁴عیسی در جواب به آن ها گفت: «من نیز از شما سؤالی می کنم، اگر به آن جواب بدهید من هم به شما خواهم گفت که با چه اجازه ای این کارها را می کنم.

²⁵ The baptism of John, where was it from? From heaven or from men?” They reasoned with themselves, saying, “If we say, ‘From heaven,’ he will ask us, ‘Why then did you not believe him?’

²⁵آیا تعمید یحیی از جانب خدا بود و یا از جانب انسان؟» بر سر این موضوع در میان آن ها بحثی درگرفت، می گفتند: «اگر بگوییم از جانب خدا است او خواهد گفت چرا به او ایمان نیاوردید؟

²⁶But if we say, ‘From men,’ we fear the multitude, for all hold John as a prophet.”

²⁶و اگر بگوییم از جانب انسان است، از مردم می ترسیم، زیرا همه یحیی را یک نبی می دانند.»

²⁷They answered Jesus, and said, “We don’t know.” He also said to them, “Neither will I tell you by what authority I do these things.

²⁷از این رو در جواب عیسی گفتند: «ما نمی دانیم.» عیسی فرمود: «پس من هم به شما نخواهم گفت که با چه اجازه ای این کارها را می کنم.»

²⁸ But what do you think? A man had two sons, and he came to the first, and said, ‘Son, go work today in my vineyard.’

²⁸«نظر شما در این خصوص چیست؟ شخصی دو پسر داشت. او نزد پسر بزرگ خود رفت و به او گفت: «پسرم، امروز به تاکستان برو و در آنجا کار کن.»

²⁹ He answered, ‘I will not,’ but afterward he changed his mind, and went.

²⁹آن پسر جواب داد: «من نمی روم» اما بعد پشیمان شد و رفت.

³⁰ He came to the second, and said the same thing. He answered, ‘I go, sir,’ but he didn’t go.

³⁰آنگاه پدر نزد دومی آمد و همین را به او گفت او جواب داد: «می روم، پدر،» اما هرگز نرفت.

³¹ Which of the two did the will of his father?” They said to him, “The first.” Jesus said to them, “Most certainly I tell you that the tax collectors and the prostitutes are entering into the Kingdom of God before you.

³¹کدامیک از این دو نفر مطابق خواهش پدر رفتار کرد؟» گفتند: «اولی.» پس عیسی جواب داد: «بدانید که جزیه گیران و فاحشه ها قبل از شما به پادشاهی خدا وارد خواهند شد.

³² For John came to you in the way of righteousness, and you didn’t believe him, but the tax collectors and the prostitutes believed him. When you saw it, you didn’t even repent afterward, that you might believe him.

³²زیرا یحیی آمد و راه صحیح زندگی را به شما نشان داد و شما سخنان او را باور نکردید ولی جزیه گیران و فاحشه ها باور کردند و شما حتی بعد از دیدن آن هم توبه نکردید و به او ایمان نیاوردید.

³³ “Hear another parable. There was a man who was a master of a household, who planted a vineyard, set a hedge about it, dug a winepress in it, built a tower, leased it out to farmers, and went into another country.

³³به مَثَل دیگری گوش دهید: مالکی بود که تاکستانی ساخت و دور آن دیواری کشید و در آن چرخُشتی کند و یک بُرج دیده بانی هم برای آن ساخت، آنگاه آنرا به دهقانان سپرد و خود به مسافرت رفت.

³⁴ When the season for the fruit drew near, he sent his servants to the farmers, to receive his fruit.

³⁴هنگامی که موسم چیدن انگور رسید، خادمان خود را نزد باغبانان فرستاد تا انگور را تحویل بگیرند.

³⁵ The farmers took his servants, beat one, killed another, and stoned another.

³⁵اما باغبان، خادمان او را گرفته، یکی را لت و کوب کردند و دیگری را کشتند و سومی را سنگسار کردند.

³⁶ Again, he sent other servants more than the first: and they treated them the same way.

³⁶صاحب باغ بار دیگر عدۀ بیشتری از خادمان خود را فرستاد. با آنها نیز به همانطور رفتار کردند.

³⁷ But afterward he sent to them his son, saying, ‘They will respect my son.’

³⁷بالاخره پسر خود را پیش باغبانان فرستاده گفت: «آنها احترام پسرم را نگاه خواهند داشت.»

³⁸ But the farmers, when they saw the son, said among themselves, ‘This is the heir. Come, let’s kill him, and seize his inheritance.’

³⁸اما وقتی باغبانان پسر را دیدند به یکدیگر گفتند: «این وارث است. بیایید او را بکشیم تا میراث اش از ما شود.»

³⁹ So they took him, and threw him out of the vineyard, and killed him.

³⁹پس او را گرفته و از تاکستان بیرون انداخته به قتل رسانیدند.

⁴⁰ When therefore the lord of the vineyard comes, what will he do to those farmers?”

⁴⁰هنگامی که صاحب تاکستان بیاید با باغبانان چه خواهد کرد؟»

⁴¹They told him, “He will miserably destroy those miserable men, and will lease out the vineyard to other farmers, who will give him the fruit in its season.”

⁴¹آن ها جواب دادند: «آن مردان شریر را به عقوبت شدیدی خواهد رسانید و تاکستان را به دست باغبانان دیگری می سپارد تا هر وقت موسم میوه برسد، حصۀ او را بدهند.»

⁴²Jesus said to them, “Did you never read in the Scriptures, ‘The stone which the builders rejected, the same was made the head of the corner. This was from the Lord. It is marvelous in our eyes?’ Psalm 118:22-23

⁴²آنگاه عیسی به آنها فرمود: «آیا تا کنون در کلام خدا نخوانده اید: آن سنگی که معماران رد کردند به صورت سنگ اصلی بنا درآمده است. این کار خداوند است و به نظر ما عجیب می باشد.

⁴³ “Therefore I tell you, the Kingdom of God will be taken away from you, and will be given to a nation bringing forth its fruit.

⁴³بنابراین به شما می گویم که پادشاهی خدا از شما گرفته و به امتی داده خواهد شد که ثمراتی شایسته به بار آورد.

⁴⁴ He who falls on this stone will be broken to pieces, but on whomever it will fall, it will scatter him as dust.”

⁴⁴[اگر کسی بر روی این سنگ بیفتد پارچه پارچه خواهد شد و هرگاه آن سنگ بر روی کسی بیفتد او را غبار خواهد ساخت.]»

⁴⁵When the chief priests and the Pharisees heard his parables, they perceived that he spoke about them.

⁴⁵وقتی سران کاهنان و پیروان فرقۀ فریسی مَثَل های او را شنیدند، فهمیدند که عیسی به آن ها اشاره می کند.آن ها خواستند او را دستگیر کنند اما از مردم که عیسی را پیامبر می دانستند، می ترسیدند.

⁴⁶When they sought to seize him, they feared the multitudes, because they considered him to be a prophet.
