¹ “Then the Kingdom of Heaven will be like ten virgins, who took their lamps, and went out to meet the bridegroom.

¹در آن روز پادشاهی آسمان مثل ده دختر جوان خواهد بود که چراغ های خود را برداشته به استقبال داماد رفتند.

² Five of them were foolish, and five were wise.

²پنج نفر از آنها دانا و پنج نفر نادان بودند.

³ Those who were foolish, when they took their lamps, took no oil with them,

³دختران نادان چراغ های خود را با خود برداشتند ولی با خود هیچ تیل نبردند،

⁴ but the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.

⁴اما دختران دانا چراغ های خود را با ظرف های پُر از تیل بردند.

⁵ Now while the bridegroom delayed, they all slumbered and slept.

⁵چون داماد در آمدن دیر کرد، همگی خواب شان برد.

⁶ But at midnight there was a cry, ‘Behold! The bridegroom is coming! Come out to meet him!’

⁶در نیمه شب فریاد کسی شنیده شد که می گفت: «داماد می آید، به پیش او بیائید.»

⁷ Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps. The end of the wick of an oil lamp needs to be cut off periodically to avoid having it become clogged with carbon deposits. The wick height is also adjusted so that the flame burns evenly and gives good light without producing a lot of smoke.

⁷وقتی دختران این را شنیدند همه برخاسته چراغ های خود را حاضر کردند.

⁸ The foolish said to the wise, ‘Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out.’

⁸دختران نادان به دختران دانا گفتند: «چراغ های ما در حال خاموش شدن است، مقداری از تیل خود تان را به ما بدهید.»

⁹ But the wise answered, saying, ‘What if there isn’t enough for us and you? You go rather to those who sell, and buy for yourselves.’

⁹آن ها گفتند: «نخیر، برای همۀ ما کافی نیست، بهتر است شما پیش فروشندگان بروید و مقداری تیل برای خود تان بخرید.»

¹⁰ While they went away to buy, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the marriage feast, and the door was shut.

¹⁰وقتی آن ها رفتند تیل بخرند، داماد وارد شد. کسانی که آماده بودند با او به مجلس عروسی وارد شدند و در بسته شد.

¹¹ Afterward the other virgins also came, saying, ‘Lord, Lord, open to us.’

¹¹بعد که آن پنج دختر دیگر برگشتند، فریاد زدند: «ای آقا، ای آقا در را به روی ما باز کن!»

¹² But he answered, ‘Most certainly I tell you, I don’t know you.’

¹²اما او جواب داد: «به شما می گویم که اصلاً شما را نمی شناسم.»

¹³ Watch therefore, for you don’t know the day nor the hour in which the Son of Man is coming.

¹³پس بیدار باشید زیرا شما از روز و ساعت این واقعه خبر ندارید.

¹⁴ “For it is like a man, going into another country, who called his own servants, and entrusted his goods to them.

¹⁴پادشاهی آسمان مانند مردی است که می خواست سفر کند. پس غلامان خود را خواسته، اموال خویش را به آنها سپرد

¹⁵ To one he gave five talents, to another two, to another one; to each according to his own ability. Then he went on his journey.

¹⁵و به هر یک به نسبت توانائی اش چیزی داد. به یکی پنج سکۀ طلا و به دیگری دو سکۀ و به سومی یک سکه، و پس از آن به سفر رفت.

¹⁶ Immediately he who received the five talents went and traded with them, and made another five talents.

¹⁶مردی که پنج سکۀ طلا داشت زود رفت و با آن ها تجارت کرد و پنج سکۀ طلا سود برد.

¹⁷ In the same way, he also who got the two gained another two.

¹⁷همچنین آن مردی که دو سکۀ طلا داشت دو سکۀ دیگر سود آورد.

¹⁸ But he who received the one went away and dug in the earth, and hid his lord’s money.

¹⁸اما آن مردی که یک سکۀ طلا به او داده شده بود رفت و زمین را کَند و پول ارباب خود را پنهان کرد.

¹⁹ “Now after a long time the lord of those servants came, and reconciled accounts with them.

¹⁹بعد از مدت زیادی ارباب برگشت و با آن ها به تصفیه حساب پرداخت.

²⁰ He who received the five talents came and brought another five talents, saying, ‘Lord, you delivered to me five talents. Behold, I have gained another five talents besides them.’

²⁰کسی که پنج سکۀ طلا به او داده شده بود آمد و پنج سکه ای را هم که سود برده بود با خود آورد و گفت: «تو این پنج سکه را به من سپرده بودی، این پنج سکۀ دیگر هم سود آن است.»

²¹ “His lord said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a few things, I will set you over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.’

²¹ارباب گفت: «آفرین، ای غلام خوب و امین! تو در امر کوچکی امانت و درستی خود را نشان دادی، من حالا کارهای بزرگ را به تو خواهم سپرد. بیا و در خوشی ارباب خود شریک باش.»

²² “He also who got the two talents came and said, ‘Lord, you delivered to me two talents. Behold, I have gained another two talents besides them.’

²²آنگاه مردی که دو سکۀ طلا داشت آمد و گفت: «تو دو سکه به من سپردی، این دو سکۀ دیگر هم سود آن است.»

²³ “His lord said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a few things, I will set you over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.’

²³ارباب گفت: «آفرین، ای غلام خوب و امین! تو در کار کوچکی امانت و درستی خود را نشان دادی و حالا کارهای بزرگ را به تو خواهم سپرد. بیا و در خوشی ارباب خود شریک باش.»

²⁴ “He also who had received the one talent came and said, ‘Lord, I knew you that you are a hard man, reaping where you did not sow, and gathering where you did not scatter.

²⁴سپس مردی که یک سکه به او داده شده بود آمد و گفت: «ای ارباب، من می دانستم که تو مرد سختگیری هستی، از جائی که نکاشته ای درو می کنی و از جائی که نپاشیده ای جمع می نمائی.

²⁵ I was afraid, and went away and hid your talent in the earth. Behold, you have what is yours.’

²⁵پس ترسیدم و رفتم و طلای تو را در زمین پنهان کردم. بفرما، پول تو این جاست.»

²⁶ “But his lord answered him, ‘You wicked and slothful servant. You knew that I reap where I didn’t sow, and gather where I didn’t scatter.

²⁶ارباب گفت: «ای غلام بدسرشت و تنبل، تو که می دانستی من از جائی که نکاشته ام، درو می کنم و از جایی که نپاشیده ام، جمع می کنم،

²⁷ You ought therefore to have deposited my money with the bankers, and at my coming I should have received back my own with interest.

²⁷پس به همین دلیل می باید پول مرا به صرافان می دادی تا وقتی من از سفر بر می گردم آن را با سودش پس بگیرم.

²⁸ Take away therefore the talent from him, and give it to him who has the ten talents.

²⁸سکه طلا را از او بگیرید و به آن کس که ده سکه دارد بدهید،

²⁹ For to everyone who has will be given, and he will have abundance, but from him who doesn’t have, even that which he has will be taken away.

²⁹زیرا آن کس که دارد به او بیشتر داده خواهد شد تا به فراوانی داشته باشد و آن کس که ندارد، حتی آنچه را هم که دارد از دست خواهد داد.

³⁰ Throw out the unprofitable servant into the outer darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’

³⁰این غلام بی فایده را به تاریکی بیندازید، جایی که گریه و دندان بر دندان ساییدن وجود دارد.»

³¹ “But when the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then he will sit on the throne of his glory.

³¹وقتی پسر انسان با جلال خود همراه با همۀ فرشتگان می آید، بر تخت پادشاهی خود خواهد نشست

³² Before him all the nations will be gathered, and he will separate them one from another, as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats.

³²و تمام ملت های روی زمین در حضور او جمع می شوند. آنگاه او مانند چوپانی که گوسفندان را از بزها جدا می کند، آدمیان را به دو گروه تقسیم خواهد کرد.

³³ He will set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left.

³³گوسفندان را در دست راست و بزها را در دست چپ خود قرار خواهد داد.

³⁴ Then the King will tell those on his right hand, ‘Come, blessed of my Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world;

³⁴آنگاه پادشاه به آنهای که در سمت راست او هستند خواهد گفت: «ای کسانی که از جانب پدر من برکت یافته اید! بیایید و وارث سلطتنی شوید که از ابتدای آفرینش عالم برای شما آماده شده است.

³⁵ for I was hungry, and you gave me food to eat. I was thirsty, and you gave me drink. I was a stranger, and you took me in.

³⁵چون وقتی گرسنه بودم به من خوراک دادید، وقتی تشنه بودم به من آب دادید، هنگامی که مسافر بودم مرا به خانۀ خود بردید،

³⁶ I was naked, and you clothed me. I was sick, and you visited me. I was in prison, and you came to me.’

³⁶وقتی عریان بودم مرا پوشانیدید، وقتی بیمار بودم به عیادت من آمدید و وقتی که در زندان بودم از من دیدن کردید.»

³⁷ “Then the righteous will answer him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry, and feed you; or thirsty, and give you a drink?

³⁷آنگاه نیکان جواب خواهند داد: «ای خداوند چه وقت تو را گرسنه دیدیم که به تو خوراک داده باشیم و یا چه موقع تو را تشنه دیدیم که به تو آب داده باشیم؟

³⁸ When did we see you as a stranger, and take you in; or naked, and clothe you?

³⁸چه زمان مسافر بودی که تو را به خانه بردیم یا برهنه بودی که تو را پوشاندیم؟

³⁹ When did we see you sick, or in prison, and come to you?’

³⁹چه وقت تو را بیمار یا محبوس دیدیم که به دیدنت آمدیم؟»

⁴⁰ “The King will answer them, ‘Most certainly I tell you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers The word for “brothers” here may be also correctly translated “brothers and sisters” or “siblings.” , you did it to me.’

⁴⁰پادشاه در جواب خواهد گفت: «بدانید آنچه به یکی از کوچکترین برادران من کردید، به من کردید.»

⁴¹ Then he will say also to those on the left hand, ‘Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire which is prepared for the devil and his angels;

⁴¹آنگاه به آنهای که در سمت چپ او هستند خواهد گفت: «ای لعنت شدگان، از من دور شوید و به آتش ابدی که برای شیطان و فرشتگان او آماده شده است بروید،

⁴² for I was hungry, and you didn’t give me food to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave me no drink;

⁴²زیرا وقتی گرسنه بودم به من خوراک ندادید، وقتی تشنه بودم به من آب ندادید،

⁴³ I was a stranger, and you didn’t take me in; naked, and you didn’t clothe me; sick, and in prison, and you didn’t visit me.’

⁴³وقتی مسافر بودم به من منزل ندادید، وقتی برهنه بودم مرا نپوشانیدید و وقتی بیمار و محبوس بودم به عیادت من نیامدید.»

⁴⁴ “Then they will also answer, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry, or thirsty, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and didn’t help you?’

⁴⁴آنها نیز جواب خواهند داد: «چه موقع تو را گرسنه یا تشنه یا مسافر یا عریان یا بیمار یا محبوس دیدیم و کاری برایت نکردیم؟»

⁴⁵ “Then he will answer them, saying, ‘Most certainly I tell you, inasmuch as you didn’t do it to one of the least of these, you didn’t do it to me.’

⁴⁵او جواب خواهد داد: «بدانید آنچه به یکی از این کوچکان نکردید، در واقع به من نکردید»و آنها به جزای ابدی خواهند رسید، ولی عادلان به زندگی ابدی داخل خواهند شد.»

⁴⁶ These will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.”

⁴⁶و آنها به جزای ابدی خواهند رسید، ولی عادلان به زندگی ابدی داخل خواهند شد.»
