¹After these things, I saw another angel coming down out of the sky, having great authority. The earth was illuminated with his glory.

¹پس از این فرشته ای را دیدم، که از آسمان به زیر می آمد. او با اقتدار و اختیار عظیم آمد و زمین از شکوه و جلال او روشن شد.

²He cried with a mighty voice, saying, “Fallen, fallen is Babylon the great, and she has become a habitation of demons, a prison of every unclean spirit, and a prison of every unclean and hateful bird!

²آنگاه با صدایی بلند گفت: «بابِل سقوط کرده است! بابِل بزرگ سقوط کرده است! بابِل، مسکن شیاطین، و جای همه ارواح خبیث و قفس پرندگان نجس و نفرت انگیز شده است،

³For all the nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her sexual immorality, the kings of the earth committed sexual immorality with her, and the merchants of the earth grew rich from the abundance of her luxury.”

³زیرا همۀ ملتها از شراب آتشین زنای او نوشیده اند. شاهان زمین با او زنا کرده اند و تاجران دنیا از زیادی عیاشی او توانگر شده اند.»

⁴I heard another voice from heaven, saying, “Come out of her, my people, that you have no participation in her sins, and that you don’t receive of her plagues,

⁴آنگاه صدای دیگری از آسمان شنیدم، که می گفت: «از او بیرون آئید. ای قوم برگزیدۀ من، مبادا در گناهان او شریک شوید و در بلاهایش شریک گردید،

⁵for her sins have reached to the sky, and God has remembered her iniquities.

⁵زیرا گناهان او تا به فلک انباشته شده و خدا جنایات او را از یاد نبرده است.

⁶Return to her just as she returned, and repay her double as she did, and according to her works. In the cup which she mixed, mix to her double.

⁶آنچنان با او رفتار کنید که او با دیگران کرده است. برای اعمالش دو چندان به او باز گردانید. پیاله اش را دو برابر غلیظ تر از پیاله ای بگردانید که او برای شما تهیه کرده است.

⁷However much she glorified herself, and grew wanton, so much give her of torment and mourning. For she says in her heart, ‘I sit a queen, and am no widow, and will in no way see mourning.’

⁷او را به همان اندازه که از جلال و تجمل خویش فخر می کرد، غم و عذاب دهید. چون او در دل خود می گوید: «من مثل ملکه بر تخت خود نشسته ام! من دیگر بیوه نیستم و غم را هرگز نخواهم دید.»

⁸Therefore in one day her plagues will come: death, mourning, and famine; and she will be utterly burned with fire; for the Lord God who has judged her is strong.

⁸به این جهت تمام بلایا یعنی مرگ و غم و قحطی در یک روز به او روی می آورند و او در آتش خواهد سوخت، زیرا خداوند، خدایی که این چنین او را جزا می دهد، قادر است.»

⁹The kings of the earth, who committed sexual immorality and lived wantonly with her, will weep and wail over her, when they look at the smoke of her burning,

⁹هرگاه پادشاهان زمین که با او زنا کرده اند و از تجمل زیاد او بهره مند شده اند، دود سوختن او را ببینند، به حال او گریه و زاری خواهند کرد.

¹⁰standing far away for the fear of her torment, saying, ‘Woe, woe, the great city, Babylon, the strong city! For your judgment has come in one hour.’

¹⁰آن ها از ترس عذابی که او متحمل می شود، دور ایستاده خواهند گفت: «آه، آه، ای شهر بزرگ، ای بابِل، شهر پُر قدرت که در یک ساعت به جزای خود رسیدی.»

¹¹The merchants of the earth weep and mourn over her, for no one buys their merchandise any more;

¹¹تاجران دنیا نیز اشک خواهند ریخت و برای او ماتم خواهند گرفت، زیرا دیگر کسی کالاهای آنها را نمی خرد.

¹²merchandise of gold, silver, precious stones, pearls, fine linen, purple, silk, scarlet, all expensive wood, every vessel of ivory, every vessel made of most precious wood, and of brass, and iron, and marble;

¹²دیگر کسی کالاهای طلا و نقره، جواهرات و مروارید، لباس های ارغوانی و سرخ، یا ابریشم و کتان ظریف، انواع چوب های قیمتی و معطر، انواع ظروف عاجی و چوبی و برنجی و آهنین و یا مرمری،

¹³and cinnamon, incense, perfume, frankincense, wine, olive oil, fine flour, wheat, sheep, horses, chariots, and people’s bodies and souls.

¹³دارچین و ادویه، عطریات و بُخُور و کُندُر، شراب و روغن، آرد و گندم، گاو و گوسفند، اسپ و ارابه های جنگی و حتی غلامان و نفوس انسانی آن ها را نمی خرد.

¹⁴The fruits which your soul lusted after have been lost to you, and all things that were dainty and sumptuous have perished from you, and you will find them no more at all.

¹⁴آن میوه ای را که سخت در آرزوی به دست آوردنش بودی، از دست دادی و تجمل و شکوه تو از بین رفته است و دیگر هیچ وقت آن ها را نخواهی یافت.

¹⁵The merchants of these things, who were made rich by her, will stand far away for the fear of her torment, weeping and mourning;

¹⁵تاجران این کالاها که ثروت خود را از آن شهر به دست آوردند، از ترس عذاب او دور خواهند ایستاد و با گریه و غم خواهند گفت:

¹⁶saying, ‘Woe, woe, the great city, she who was dressed in fine linen, purple, and scarlet, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls!

¹⁶«آه، آه، ای شهر بزرگ که به لباس های کتان ظریف ارغوانی و سرخ ملبس و با طلا و جواهر و مروارید آراسته بودی!

¹⁷For in an hour such great riches are made desolate.’ Every shipmaster, and everyone who sails anywhere, and mariners, and as many as gain their living by sea, stood far away,

¹⁷در یک ساعت همۀ ثروت تو تباه گردیده است!» تمام ناخدایان و ملاحان و مسافران بحری و آنانی که از راه بحر تجارت می کنند، دور ایستادند.

¹⁸and cried out as they looked at the smoke of her burning, saying, ‘What is like the great city?’

¹⁸همین که دود سوختن او را دیدند فریاد زده گفتند: «آیا هرگز شهری مثل این شهر بزرگ بوده است؟»

¹⁹They cast dust on their heads, and cried, weeping and mourning, saying, ‘Woe, woe, the great city, in which all who had their ships in the sea were made rich by reason of her great wealth!’ For in one hour is she made desolate.

¹⁹آن ها بر سرهای خود خاک ریخته و با گریه و زاری فریاد زده می گفتند: «آه، آه، ای شهر بزرگ، شهری که تمام کشتی داران بحر از ثروت او توانگر شدند، در یک ساعت ویران شده است.»

²⁰“Rejoice over her, O heaven, you saints, apostles, and prophets; for God has judged your judgment on her.”

²⁰ای آسمان از نابودی او خوشی کن، ای مقدسین و ای رسولان، و ای انبیاء خوشی کنید، چون خداوند انتقام شما را از او گرفته است.

²¹A mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstone and cast it into the sea, saying, “Thus with violence will Babylon, the great city, be thrown down, and will be found no more at all.

²¹آنگاه فرشته ای نیرومند، سنگی را که به بزرگی سنگ آسیاب بود برداشت و به بحر انداخت و گفت: «همین طور بابِل، آن شهر بزرگ به سختی خواهد افتاد و دیگر یافت نخواهد شد.

²²The voice of harpists, minstrels, flute players, and trumpeters will be heard no more at all in you. No craftsman, of whatever craft, will be found any more at all in you. The sound of a mill will be heard no more at all in you.

²²دیگر صدای چنگ نوازان و مطربان و نی زنان و شیپور نوازان در تو شنیده نخواهد شد! دیگر صنعتگران هیچ حرفه ای در تو نخواهند یافت! دیگر صدای آسیاب در تو به گوش نخواهد رسید!

²³The light of a lamp will shine no more at all in you. The voice of the bridegroom and of the bride will be heard no more at all in you; for your merchants were the princes of the earth; for with your sorcery all the nations were deceived.

²³و نور چراغ در تو دیده نخواهد شد! و دیگر صدای عروس و داماد در تو به گوش نخواهد رسید. روزگاری تمام بزرگان دنیا تاجران تو بودند و تو با جادوی خود همۀ ملتها را فریفته بودی.زیرا بابِل به خاطر خون انبیاء و خون مقدسان و خون همۀ مقتولان روی زمین که در آن یافت شد، به جزای خود رسید.»

²⁴In her was found the blood of prophets and of saints, and of all who have been slain on the earth.”

²⁴زیرا بابِل به خاطر خون انبیاء و خون مقدسان و خون همۀ مقتولان روی زمین که در آن یافت شد، به جزای خود رسید.»
