1Now Boaz went up to the gate, and sat down there. Behold, the near kinsman of whom Boaz spoke came by; to whom he said, “Come over here, friend, and sit down!” He turned aside, and sat down.
1بوعز به دروازۀ شهر، جائی که مردم اجتماع می کردند، رفت. وقتی نزدیکترین خویشاوند اَلیمَلَک، یعنی همان شخص که بوعز از او نام برده بود، از آنجا گذشت، بوعز او را صدا کرد و به او گفت: «بیا و اینجا بنشین.» پس او آمد و در آنجا نشست.
2He took ten men of the elders of the city, and said, “Sit down here.” They sat down.
2بعد بوعز از ده نفر مشایخ شهر خواست که آن ها هم آنجا بنشینند. وقتی آن ها نشستند،
3He said to the near kinsman, “Naomi, who has come back out of the country of Moab, is selling the parcel of land, which was our brother Elimelech’s.
3بوعز به خویشاوند خود گفت: «حالا که نعومی از موآب برگشته است می خواهد مزرعه ای را که متعلق به خاندان اَلیمَلَک می باشد، بفروشد.
4I thought to disclose it to you, saying, ‘Buy it before those who sit here, and before the elders of my people.’ If you will redeem it, redeem it; but if you will not redeem it, then tell me, that I may know. For there is no one to redeem it besides you; and I am after you.” He said, “I will redeem it.”
4من فکر می کنم که تو باید از این موضوع با خبر باشی. اگر تو آن را می خواهی اکنون در حضور این افراد آن را بخر. اما اگر تو آنرا نمی خواهی، بگو، چون حق خرید آن مزرعه اول با تو است و اگر تو نخواستی، بعد از آن من می توانم آنرا بخرم.» آن شخص گفت: «من آن مزرعه را می خرم.»
5Then Boaz said, “On the day you buy the field from the hand of Naomi, you must buy it also from Ruth the Moabitess, the wife of the dead, to raise up the name of the dead on his inheritance.”
5بوعز گفت: «خوب، اگر تو مزرعه را از نعومی می خری، پس سرپرستی روت، بیوۀ موابی پسر او نیز با تو خواهد بود تا آن مزرعه برای فرزندان آن شخص و خانواده اش باقی بماند.»
6The near kinsman said, “I can’t redeem it for myself, lest I mar my own inheritance. Take my right of redemption for yourself; for I can’t redeem it.”
6آن مرد در جواب گفت: «در آن صورت من از حق خود در خرید مزرعه صرفنظر می کنم، چون فرزندان من آنرا به ارث نخواهند برد. من ترجیح می دهم که از خرید آن خودداری کنم. تو آن را بخر.»
7Now this was the custom in former time in Israel concerning redeeming and concerning exchanging, to confirm all things: a man took off his shoe, and gave it to his neighbor; and this was the way of attestation in Israel.
7در آن ایام برای انجام یک معامله یا انتقال یک مُلک رسم بود که فروشنده کفش خود را از پای خود بکشد و آنرا به خریدار بدهد. به این ترتیب، قوم اسرائیل معامله را انجام شده می دانستند.
8So the near kinsman said to Boaz, “Buy it for yourself.” He took off his shoe.
8وقتی آن مرد به بوعز گفت: «تو آنرا بخر،» کفش خود را نیز از پای خود کشید و آنرا به بوعز داد.
9Boaz said to the elders, and to all the people, “You are witnesses this day, that I have bought all that was Elimelech’s, and all that was Chilion’s and Mahlon’s, from the hand of Naomi.
9آنگاه بوعز به مشایخ و تمام مردمی که در آن جا جمع شده بودند، گفت: «شما همه امروز شاهد هستید که من تمام مایمُلک اَلیمَلَک و پسرانش، کِلیون و مَحلُون را از نعومی خریده ام.
10Moreover Ruth the Moabitess, the wife of Mahlon, I have purchased to be my wife, to raise up the name of the dead on his inheritance, that the name of the dead not be cut off from among his brothers, and from the gate of his place. You are witnesses this day.”
10از آن مهمتر روت موابی، بیوۀ مَحلُون، نیز همسر من خواهد شد. به این ترتیب، دارائی آن شخص در خانوادۀ او حفظ می شود و نام او در بین خاندان و زادگاهش باقی می ماند. امروز شما همه شاهد این امر هستید.»
11All the people who were in the gate, and the elders, said, “We are witnesses. May Yahweh make the woman who has come into your house like Rachel and like Leah, which two built the house of Israel; and treat you worthily in Ephrathah, and be famous in Bethlehem.
11مشایخ قوم و سایر حاضران گفتند: «بلی، ما شاهدیم. خداوند همسرت را مانند راحیل و لیه بگرداند (اینها زنانی بودند که برای یعقوب فرزندان زیادی آوردند). خدا تو را در میان قبیلۀ افراته غنی و در شهر بیت لحم معروف نماید
12Let your house be like the house of Perez, whom Tamar bore to Judah, of the seed which Yahweh shall give you of this young woman.”
12و فرزندانی که خداوند بوسیلۀ این زن جوان به تو عطا می فرماید، خانوادۀ ترا مانند خاندان فارِز، فرزند یهودا و تامار بسازد.»
13So Boaz took Ruth, and she became his wife; and he went in to her, and Yahweh gave her conception, and she bore a son.
13پس از آن بوعز روت را بعنوان همسر خویش به منزل برده خداوند او را برکت داد و او حامله گردید و پسری بدنیا آورد.
14The women said to Naomi, “Blessed be Yahweh, who has not left you this day without a near kinsman; and let his name be famous in Israel.
14زنان شهر به نعومی گفتند: «خدا را سپاس باد! او امروز به تو نواسه ای عطا فرموده که حامی تو می باشد. خدا او را در بین تمام قوم اسرائیل بزرگ و مشهور بگرداند.
15He shall be to you a restorer of life, and sustain you in your old age, for your daughter-in-law, who loves you, who is better to you than seven sons, has borne him.”
15عروست ترا دوست دارد و برایت از هفت پسر بهتر است. اکنون برای تو نواسه ای بدنیا آورده که زندگی تازه ای به تو خواهد بخشید، و او عصای دوران پیری تو خواهد بود.»
16Naomi took the child, and laid it in her bosom, and became nurse to it.
16نعومی آن طفل را در آغوش گرفت و از او پرستاری کرد.
17The women, her neighbors, gave him a name, saying, “There is a son born to Naomi”; and they named him Obed. He is the father of Jesse, the father of David.
17زنانی که در همسایگی آن ها زندگی می کردند، طفل را عوبید نامیدند. آن ها به تمام مردم می گفتند: «نعومی دارای پسری شده است.»عوبید پدر یسی و یسی پدر داود بود. شجره نامۀ خانوادۀ فارِز تا داود به این شرح است: فارِز، حِزرون، رام، عمیناداب، نحشون، سَلمون، بوعز، عوبید، یسی و داود.
18Now this is the history of the generations of Perez: Perez became the father of Hezron,
18عوبید پدر یسی و یسی پدر داود بود. شجره نامۀ خانوادۀ فارِز تا داود به این شرح است: فارِز، حِزرون، رام، عمیناداب، نحشون، سَلمون، بوعز، عوبید، یسی و داود.
19and Hezron became the father of Ram, and Ram became the father of Amminadab,
20and Amminadab became the father of Nahshon, and Nahshon became the father of Salmon,
21and Salmon became the father of Boaz, and Boaz became the father of Obed,
22and Obed became the father of Jesse, and Jesse became the father of David.
