¹Why do the nations rage, and the peoples plot a vain thing?

¹Miksi kansat kapinoivat, kansakunnat juonia punovat?

²The kings of the earth take a stand, and the rulers take counsel together, against Yahweh, and against his Anointed, The word “Anointed” is the same as the word for “Messiah” or “Christ” saying,

²Miksi kuninkaat nousevat kapinaan, hallitsijat liittoutuvat keskenään Herraa ja hänen voideltuaan vastaan?

³“Let’s break their bonds apart, and cast their cords from us.”

³"Me heitämme pois ikeemme, katkomme orjuuden kahleet!"

⁴He who sits in the heavens will laugh. The Lord The word translated “Lord” is “Adonai.” will have them in derision.

⁴Hän, joka hallitsee taivaassa, nauraa, Herra pilkkaa heitä.

⁵Then he will speak to them in his anger, and terrify them in his wrath:

⁸Ask of me, and I will give the nations for your inheritance, the uttermost parts of the earth for your possession.

⁹You shall break them with a rod of iron. You shall dash them in pieces like a potter’s vessel.”

⁹Sinä alistat kansat rautaisella valtikalla, murrat ne kuin saviastiat."

¹⁰Now therefore be wise, you kings. Be instructed, you judges of the earth.

¹⁰Tulkaa siis järkiinne, kuninkaat! Ottakaa opiksenne, maan mahtavat!

¹¹Serve Yahweh with fear, and rejoice with trembling.

¹¹Pelätkää Herraa, palvelkaa häntä, vaviskaa, kohottakaa hänelle riemuhuuto.

¹²Give sincere homage to the Son or, Kiss the son , lest he be angry, and you perish in the way, for his wrath will soon be kindled. Blessed are all those who take refuge in him.

¹²Tervehtikää poikaa, hänen voideltuaan, suudelkaa häntä, muuten Herra vihastuu teihin ja te suistutte tieltänne tuhoon, sillä hetkessä syttyy hänen vihansa. Hyvä on sen osa, joka turvaa häneen!
