¹These are the journeys of the children of Israel, when they went forth out of the land of Egypt by their armies under the hand of Moses and Aaron.

¹אלה מסעי בני ישראל אשר יצאו מארץ מצרים לצבאתם ביד משה ואהרן׃

²Moses wrote their goings out according to their journeys by the commandment of Yahweh: and these are their journeys according to their goings out.

²ויכתב משה את מוצאיהם למסעיהם על פי יהוה ואלה מסעיהם למוצאיהם׃

³They traveled from Rameses in the first month, on the fifteenth day of the first month; on the next day after the Passover the children of Israel went out with a high hand in the sight of all the Egyptians,

³ויסעו מרעמסס בחדש הראשון בחמשה עשר יום לחדש הראשון ממחרת הפסח יצאו בני ישראל ביד רמה לעיני כל מצרים׃

⁴while the Egyptians were burying all their firstborn, whom Yahweh had struck among them: on their gods also Yahweh executed judgments.

⁴ומצרים מקברים את אשר הכה יהוה בהם כל בכור ובאלהיהם עשה יהוה שפטים׃

⁵The children of Israel traveled from Rameses, and encamped in Succoth.

⁵ויסעו בני ישראל מרעמסס ויחנו בסכת׃

⁶They traveled from Succoth, and encamped in Etham, which is in the edge of the wilderness.

⁶ויסעו מסכת ויחנו באתם אשר בקצה המדבר׃

⁷They traveled from Etham, and turned back to Pihahiroth, which is before Baal Zephon: and they encamped before Migdol.

⁷ויסעו מאתם וישב על פי החירת אשר על פני בעל צפון ויחנו לפני מגדל׃

⁸They traveled from before Hahiroth, and passed through the midst of the sea into the wilderness: and they went three days’ journey in the wilderness of Etham, and encamped in Marah.

⁸ויסעו מפני החירת ויעברו בתוך הים המדברה וילכו דרך שלשת ימים במדבר אתם ויחנו במרה׃

⁹They traveled from Marah, and came to Elim: and in Elim were twelve springs of water, and seventy palm trees; and they encamped there.

⁹ויסעו ממרה ויבאו אילמה ובאילם שתים עשרה עינת מים ושבעים תמרים ויחנו שם׃

¹⁰They traveled from Elim, and encamped by the Red Sea or, Sea of Reeds .

¹⁰ויסעו מאילם ויחנו על ים סוף׃

¹³ויסעו מדפקה ויחנו באלוש׃

¹⁴They traveled from Alush, and encamped in Rephidim, where there was no water for the people to drink.

¹⁴ויסעו מאלוש ויחנו ברפידם ולא היה שם מים לעם לשתות׃

¹⁵They traveled from Rephidim, and encamped in the wilderness of Sinai.

¹⁵ויסעו מרפידם ויחנו במדבר סיני׃

¹⁶They traveled from the wilderness of Sinai, and encamped in Kibroth Hattaavah.

¹⁶ויסעו ממדבר סיני ויחנו בקברת התאוה׃

¹⁷They traveled from Kibroth Hattaavah, and encamped in Hazeroth.

¹⁷ויסעו מקברת התאוה ויחנו בחצרת׃

¹⁸They traveled from Hazeroth, and encamped in Rithmah.

¹⁸ויסעו מחצרת ויחנו ברתמה׃

¹⁹They traveled from Rithmah, and encamped in Rimmon Perez.

¹⁹ויסעו מרתמה ויחנו ברמן פרץ׃

²⁰They traveled from Rimmon Perez, and encamped in Libnah.

²⁴They traveled from Mount Shepher, and encamped in Haradah.

²⁴ויסעו מהר שפר ויחנו בחרדה׃

²⁵They traveled from Haradah, and encamped in Makheloth.

²⁵ויסעו מחרדה ויחנו במקהלת׃

²⁶They traveled from Makheloth, and encamped in Tahath.

²⁶ויסעו ממקהלת ויחנו בתחת׃

³⁴They traveled from Jotbathah, and encamped in Abronah.

³⁴ויסעו מיטבתה ויחנו בעברנה׃

³⁵They traveled from Abronah, and encamped in Ezion Geber.

³⁵ויסעו מעברנה ויחנו בעציון גבר׃

³⁶They traveled from Ezion Geber, and encamped in the wilderness of Zin (the same is Kadesh).

³⁶ויסעו מעציון גבר ויחנו במדבר צן הוא קדש׃

³⁷They traveled from Kadesh, and encamped in Mount Hor, in the edge of the land of Edom.

³⁷ויסעו מקדש ויחנו בהר ההר בקצה ארץ אדום׃

³⁸Aaron the priest went up into Mount Hor at the commandment of Yahweh, and died there, in the fortieth year after the children of Israel had come out of the land of Egypt, in the fifth month, on the first day of the month.

³⁸ויעל אהרן הכהן אל הר ההר על פי יהוה וימת שם בשנת הארבעים לצאת בני ישראל מארץ מצרים בחדש החמישי באחד לחדש׃

³⁹Aaron was one hundred twenty-three years old when he died in Mount Hor.

³⁹ואהרן בן שלש ועשרים ומאת שנה במתו בהר ההר׃

⁴⁰The Canaanite, the king of Arad, who lived in the South in the land of Canaan, heard of the coming of the children of Israel.

⁴⁰וישמע הכנעני מלך ערד והוא ישב בנגב בארץ כנען בבא בני ישראל׃

⁴¹They traveled from Mount Hor, and encamped in Zalmonah.

⁴¹ויסעו מהר ההר ויחנו בצלמנה׃

⁴²They traveled from Zalmonah, and encamped in Punon.

⁴²ויסעו מצלמנה ויחנו בפונן׃

⁴³They traveled from Punon, and encamped in Oboth.

⁴³ויסעו מפונן ויחנו באבת׃

⁴⁴They traveled from Oboth, and encamped in Iye Abarim, in the border of Moab.

⁴⁴ויסעו מאבת ויחנו בעיי העברים בגבול מואב׃

⁴⁵They traveled from Iyim, and encamped in Dibon Gad.

⁴⁵ויסעו מעיים ויחנו בדיבן גד׃

⁴⁶They traveled from Dibon Gad, and encamped in Almon Diblathaim.

⁴⁶ויסעו מדיבן גד ויחנו בעלמן דבלתימה׃

⁴⁷They traveled from Almon Diblathaim, and encamped in the mountains of Abarim, before Nebo.

⁴⁷ויסעו מעלמן דבלתימה ויחנו בהרי העברים לפני נבו׃

⁴⁸They traveled from the mountains of Abarim, and encamped in the plains of Moab by the Jordan at Jericho.

⁴⁸ויסעו מהרי העברים ויחנו בערבת מואב על ירדן ירחו׃

⁴⁹They encamped by the Jordan, from Beth Jeshimoth even to Abel Shittim in the plains of Moab.

⁴⁹ויחנו על הירדן מבית הישמת עד אבל השטים בערבת מואב׃

⁵⁰Yahweh spoke to Moses in the plains of Moab by the Jordan at Jericho, saying,

⁵⁰וידבר יהוה אל משה בערבת מואב על ירדן ירחו לאמר׃

⁵¹Speak to the children of Israel, and tell them, “When you pass over the Jordan into the land of Canaan,

⁵¹דבר אל בני ישראל ואמרת אלהם כי אתם עברים את הירדן אל ארץ כנען׃

⁵²then you shall drive out all the inhabitants of the land from before you, destroy all their stone idols, destroy all their molten images, and demolish all their high places.

⁵²והורשתם את כל ישבי הארץ מפניכם ואבדתם את כל משכיתם ואת כל צלמי מסכתם תאבדו ואת כל במתם תשמידו׃

⁵³You shall take possession of the land, and dwell therein; for I have given given the land to you to possess it.

⁵³והורשתם את הארץ וישבתם בה כי לכם נתתי את הארץ לרשת אתה׃

⁵⁴You shall inherit the land by lot according to your families; to the more you shall give the more inheritance, and to the fewer you shall give the less inheritance: wherever the lot falls to any man, that shall be his. You shall inherit according to the tribes of your fathers.

⁵⁴והתנחלתם את הארץ בגורל למשפחתיכם לרב תרבו את נחלתו ולמעט תמעיט את נחלתו אל אשר יצא לו שמה הגורל לו יהיה למטות אבתיכם תתנחלו׃

⁵⁵“But if you do not drive out the inhabitants of the land from before you, then those you let remain of them will be as pricks in your eyes and as thorns in your sides, and they will harass you in the land in which you dwell.

⁵⁵ואם לא תורישו את ישבי הארץ מפניכם והיה אשר תותירו מהם לשכים בעיניכם ולצנינם בצדיכם וצררו אתכם על הארץ אשר אתם ישבים בה׃

⁵⁶It shall happen that as I thought to do to them, so will I do to you.”

⁵⁶והיה כאשר דמיתי לעשות להם אעשה לכם׃
