1Therefore when we couldn’t stand it any longer, we thought it good to be left behind at Athens alone,
1Imi ur nezmir ara a neṣbeṛ fell-awen nnig wannect-a, nufa-d yiwen ṛṛay : nukni a neqqim di temdint n Atinya,
2and sent Timothy, our brother and God’s servant in the Good News of Christ, to establish you, and to comfort you concerning your faith;
2ma d gma-tneɣ Timuti, aqeddac n Sidi Ṛebbi, ițbecciṛen lexbaṛ n lxiṛ n Lmasiḥ, a wen-t-in-nceggeɛ a kkun isseǧhed yerna a kkun-inhu di liman nwen,
3that no one be moved by these afflictions. For you know that we are appointed to this task.
3iwakken yiwen ur ifeččel di teswiɛt-agi n uqehheṛ. Teẓram belli ayagi d ayen i ɣ-ițṛaǧun.
4For most certainly, when we were with you, we told you beforehand that we are to suffer affliction, even as it happened, and you know.
4Asmi nella yid-wen nenna-yawen yakan belli a d-yas wass i deg ara nețwaqehheṛ. Atan tura twalam belli d ayen ideṛṛun.
5For this cause I also, when I couldn’t stand it any longer, sent that I might know your faith, for fear that by any means the tempter had tempted you, and our labor would have been in vain.
5Imi xaqeɣ fell-awen, ur zmireɣ ara ad ṣebṛeɣ, ceggɛeɣ-awen gma tneɣ Timuti iwakken a yi-d-yawi lexbaṛ ma mazal teṭṭfem di liman nwen ; axaṭer uggadeɣ a kkun iɣuṛṛ Cciṭan, aț-țețțum ayen akk i wen-nesselmed, uggadeɣ lxedma nneɣ aț-țuɣal d ulac.
6But when Timothy came just now to us from you, and brought us glad news of your faith and love, and that you have good memories of us always, longing to see us, even as we also long to see you;
6Mi d-yuɣal Timuti s ɣuṛ-wen, yewwi-yaɣ-d lexbaṛ yelhan fell-awen : iḥka-yaɣ-d amek tḍuɛem Sidi Ṛebbi, d leḥmala yellan wway gar-awen ; yenna-yaɣ-d daɣen amek i ɣ-d țmektayem, ur aɣ-tețțum ara, tḥarem melmi ara ɣ-teẓrem am akken i nxaq fell-awen ula d nukni.
7for this cause, brothers, we were comforted over you in all our distress and affliction through your faith.
7Ay atmaten, ɣas akka nella di lmeḥna d iɣeblan, theddnen wulawen nneɣ ɣef wayen yeɛnan liman-nwen.
8For now we live, if you stand fast in the Lord.
8Tura yuɣal-aɣ-d ṛṛuḥ imi neẓra teṭṭfem di Ssid-nneɣ Ɛisa Lmasiḥ.
9For what thanksgiving can we render again to God for you, for all the joy with which we rejoice for your sakes before our God;
9Lfeṛḥ-nneɣ d ameqqran zdat Sidi Ṛebbi ɣef ddemma-nwen. Akken nebɣu neḥmed-it fell-awen drus.
10night and day praying exceedingly that we may see your face, and may perfect that which is lacking in your faith?
10Nețḥellil Sidi Ṛebbi am iḍ am ass, a ɣ-d-yefk tagniț i deg ara kkun-nẓer, iwakken a wen-nkemmel aselmed n wayen i kkun-ixuṣṣen di liman-nwen.
11Now may our God and Father himself, and our Lord Jesus Christ, direct our way to you;
11Nessutur Sidi Ṛebbi baba-tneɣ d Ssid-nneɣ Ɛisa a ɣ-d-ldin iberdan iwakken a n-nas ɣuṛ-wen.
12and the Lord make you to increase and abound in love one toward another, and toward all men, even as we also do toward you,
12Ad isnerni Ṛebbi leḥmala i tesɛam wway gar-awen, aț-țḥemmlem daɣen imdanen meṛṛa am akken i kkun nḥemmel nukni.
13to the end he may establish your hearts blameless in holiness before our God and Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus with all his saints.
13Ad isseǧhed Ṛebbi ulawen nwen, iwakken aț-țeṣfum, aț-țilim mbla lɛib zdat Sidi Ṛebbi baba-tneɣ i wass i deg ara d-yuɣal Ssid-nneɣ Ɛisa Lmasiḥ nețța d lmalayekkat.
