James

1

1James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, to the twelve tribes which are in the Dispersion: Greetings.
1Nekk Yeɛqub aqeddac n Sidi Ṛebbi akk-d Sidna Ɛisa Lmasiḥ, sslam-iw i tnac leɛṛac n wegdud n Sidi Ṛebbi yenwezzaɛen di ddunit meṛṛa !
2Count it all joy, my brothers , when you fall into various temptations,
2Ay atmaten, feṛḥet m'ara țɛeddayent fell-awen teswiɛin ujeṛṛeb,
3knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance.
3axaṭer teẓram belli ajeṛṛeb n liman nwen yețțawi-d ṣṣbeṛ.
4Let endurance have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.
4Meɛna ilaq ṣṣbeṛ-nwen a kkun issiweḍ aț-țxedmem lecɣal yelhan iwakken aț-țilim d wid yennekmalen, aț-țǧehdem ur kkun-yețxaṣṣa ula d acemma.
5But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach; and it will be given to him.
5Ma yella yiwen deg-wen ixuṣṣ di lefhama, a ț-yessuter i Sidi Ṛebbi i d-yețțaken i yemdanen meṛṛa mbla cceḥḥa d ulummu, a s-ț-id-yefk.
6But let him ask in faith, without any doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, driven by the wind and tossed.
6Lameɛna Ilaq a ț-yessuter s liman mbla ccekk ; axaṭer win yețcukkun icuba ɣer lemwaji n lebḥeṛ i greffed yesrusu waḍu.
7For let that man not think that he will receive anything from the Lord.
7Amdan am wagi ɣas ur iṭṭamaɛ ara di Sidi Ṛebbi a s-d-yefk kra,
8He is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.
8axaṭer d amdan ur nesɛi ara yiwen n ṛṛay, lecɣal-is ur seḥḥan ara.
9But let the brother in humble circumstances glory in his high position;
9Lameɛna igellil ilaq ad ifṛeḥ imi i t-irfed Sidi Ṛebbi ;
10and the rich, in that he is made humble, because like the flower in the grass, he will pass away.
10ma d ameṛkanti ad ifṛeḥ imi t-id-issers Sidi Ṛebbi axaṭer ad ifnu akken ifennu ujeǧǧig n lexla.
11For the sun arises with the scorching wind, and withers the grass, and the flower in it falls, and the beauty of its appearance perishes. So also will the rich man fade away in his pursuits.
11 M'ara d-yali yiṭij s leḥmu-ines yesseṛɣayen, imɣi ad iqqaṛ, ajeǧǧig-is ad iɣli, ccbaḥa-ines a s-tṛuḥ. Akka ara tedṛu d umeṛkanti , ad iṛuḥ a d-yeǧǧ deffir-es wayen akk yesɛa.
12Blessed is the man who endures temptation, for when he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life, which the Lord promised to those who love him.
12D aseɛdi wemdan i gteṭṭfen deg ujeṛṛeb ur iɣelli ara ; axaṭer m'ara iɛeddi seg ujeṛṛeb, a s-d-tețțunefk tɛeṣṣabt n tudert i gewɛed Sidi Ṛebbi i wid i t-iḥemmlen.
13Let no man say when he is tempted, “I am tempted by God,” for God can’t be tempted by evil, and he himself tempts no one.
13M'ara tețwaɣuṛṛem, ɣuṛ-wat aț-ținim : d Ṛebbi i ɣ-iɣuṛṛen axaṭer Ṛebbi ur yezmir ara a t-iɣuṛṛ wemcum yerna Nețța s yiman-is ur yețɣuṛṛu ula yiwen.
14But each one is tempted, when he is drawn away by his own lust, and enticed.
14Lameɛna yal yiwen deg-nneɣ yețɛedday deg ujeṛṛeb axaṭer d ccehwat n tnefsit-nneɣ i ɣ-ițɣuṛṛun.
15Then the lust, when it has conceived, bears sin; and the sin, when it is full grown, brings forth death.
15Lebɣi n tnefsit yețțawi-d ddnub, ddnub mi gețwaxdem, yețțawi-d lmut.
16Don’t be deceived, my beloved brothers.
16Ay atmaten-iw eɛzizen ur ɣellṭet ara deg wayagi :
17Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom can be no variation, nor turning shadow.
17kra n tikci yelhan tețțas-ed seg igenwan, s ɣuṛ baba Ṛebbi i d-ixelqen tafat n igenwan, win akken ur nețbeddil, ur nețɣab am yiṭij iwakken a d-yeǧǧ ṭṭlam.
18Of his own will he brought us forth by the word of truth, that we should be a kind of first fruits of his creatures.
18Yehwa-yas a ɣ-d-yefk tudert s wawal-is n tideț, iwakken a nili d imezwura deg wayen akk i d-yexleq.
19So, then, my beloved brothers, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger;
19Ay atmaten-iw eɛzizen, teẓram belli yal yiwen deg-wen ilaq ad yesmeḥsis, ur ilaq ara ad ireffu neɣ ad yețḥawal ameslay ;
20for the anger of man doesn’t produce the righteousness of God.
20axaṭer amdan ireffun ur ixeddem ara ayen yellan d lḥeqq ɣer Sidi Ṛebbi.
21Therefore, putting away all filthiness and overflowing of wickedness, receive with humility the implanted word, which is able to save your souls .
21Daymi i glaq aț-țḍeggṛem seg ulawen-nwen ayen akk ur nzeddig ara, d wayen yellan d cceṛ deg-wen ; meɛna qeblet s wannuz awal i geẓẓan deg-wen i gzemren ad isellek lerwaḥ nwen.
22But be doers of the word, and not only hearers, deluding your own selves.
22Mačči d asmeḥses kan n wawal n Sidi Ṛebbi i ɣer tella, lameɛna sbeggnet-ț-id di lecɣal-nwen ; neɣ m'ulac ț-țikellax kan i tețkellixem iman-nwen.
23For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man looking at his natural face in a mirror;
23Axaṭer win yesmeḥsisen i wawal n Sidi Ṛebbi ur t-yexdim ara, icuba ɣer wemdan yețwalin udem-is di lemri akken yella.
24for he sees himself, and goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was.
24Mi gwala iman-is, iṛuḥ, yețțu imiren kan amek akken i gella.
25But he who looks into the perfect law of freedom, and continues, not being a hearer who forgets, but a doer of the work, this man will be blessed in what he does.
25Ma d win yețmeyyizen akken ilaq ccariɛa iṣeḥḥan, ccariɛa i d yețțaken tilelli, iteṭṭfen deg-s mačči s usmeḥses kan ad yuɣal a ț-yețțu, meɛna ixeddem ayen i d-tenna, wagi ad yili d aseɛdi di lecɣal-is meṛṛa.
26If anyone among you thinks himself to be religious while he doesn’t bridle his tongue, but deceives his heart, this man’s religion is worthless.
26Ma yella win iḥesben iman-is yetbeɛ abrid n Sidi Ṛebbi yili ur yețțaṭṭaf ara iles-is, yesseɣlaḍ deg iman-is, abrid-agi i gewwi ur iṣeḥḥa ara.
27Pure religion and undefiled before our God and Father is this: to visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained by the world.
27Atan webrid iṣeḥḥan yellan ț-țideț zdat Sidi Ṛebbi baba-tneɣ : d m'ara terzum ɣef igujilen ț-țuǧǧal m'ara ilin di lmeḥna, d uḥader n yiman-nwen ɣef wayen n diri ara d-yekken si ddunit.
