1After these things, Jesus was walking in Galilee, for he wouldn’t walk in Judea, because the Jews sought to kill him.
1Deffir wayagi, Sidna Ɛisa ikemmel abrid-is iteddu di tmurt n Jlili. Ur yebɣi ara ad iṛuḥ ɣer tmurt n Yahuda, axaṭer imeqqranen n wat Isṛail țqelliben fell-as iwakken a t nɣen.
2Now the feast of the Jews, the Feast of Booths, was at hand.
2Lɛid i deg xeddmen wat Isṛail tiɛecciwin iqeṛṛeb-ed.
3His brothers therefore said to him, “Depart from here, and go into Judea, that your disciples also may see your works which you do.
3Dɣa atmaten is nnan-as : Kker aț-țṛuḥeḍ ɣer tmurt n Yahuda akken inelmaden-ik yellan dinna ad ẓren ayen i txeddmeḍ.
4For no one does anything in secret, and himself seeks to be known openly. If you do these things, reveal yourself to the world.”
4Win yebɣan ad yețwassen, ur ilaq ara ad iffer wayen i gxeddem. Imi tzemreḍ i lecɣal imeqqranen, sbeggen-ed iman-ik a k-walin akk yemdanen.
5For even his brothers didn’t believe in him.
5Atmaten-is s yiman-nsen ur uminen ara yis.
6Jesus therefore said to them, “My time has not yet come, but your time is always ready.
6Sidna Ɛisa yenna-yasen : Ma yella ɣuṛ-wen iwweḍ-ed lweqt, nekk ɣuṛ-i mazal.
7 The world can’t hate you, but it hates me, because I testify about it, that its works are evil.
7Medden ur sɛin ara sebba s wayes ara kkun keṛhen, keṛhen-iyi nekk imi d-sbeggneɣ yir lecɣal-nsen.
8 You go up to the feast. I am not yet going up to this feast, because my time is not yet fulfilled.”
8Kunwi ṛuḥet aț-țɛeggdem, ma d nekk ur tedduɣ ara, imi lweqt-iw urɛad i d-yusi.
9Having said these things to them, he stayed in Galilee.
9Mi sen-d-yenna ayagi, yeǧǧa-ten ṛuḥen, nețța yeqqim di tmurt n Jlili.
10But when his brothers had gone up to the feast, then he also went up, not publicly, but as it were in secret.
10Mi ṛuḥen watmaten-is ad ɛeggden, iṛuḥ ula d nețța mbla ma yesseɛlem yiwen.
11The Jews therefore sought him at the feast, and said, “Where is he?”
11Deg ussan n lɛid, imeqqranen n wat Isṛail țnadin fell-as, steqsayen anda yella.
12There was much murmuring among the multitudes concerning him. Some said, “He is a good man.” Others said, “Not so, but he leads the multitude astray.”
12Lɣaci i d-yusan ad ɛeggden, bdan țmeslayen fell-as. Kra deg-sen qqaṛen : D argaz n lxiṛ ! Wiyaḍ qqaṛen : Awah ! Yețkellix kan ɣef lɣaci !
13Yet no one spoke openly of him for fear of the Jews.
13Yiwen ur d-yehdiṛ fell-as ɛinani axaṭer uggaden imeqqranen n wat Isṛail.
14But when it was now the midst of the feast, Jesus went up into the temple and taught.
14Mi gneṣṣef lɛid n iɛecciwen, Sidna Ɛisa yuli ɣer lǧameɛ iqedsen, yebda yesselmad.
15The Jews therefore marveled, saying, “How does this man know letters, having never been educated?”
15At Isṛail wehmen, qqaṛen : Ur yeɣṛi ara d lɛulama yerna yessen tira iqedsen, ansi i s-d-tekka tmusni-yagi ?
16Jesus therefore answered them, “My teaching is not mine, but his who sent me.
16Sidna Ɛisa yenna yasen : Ayen i sselmadeɣ mačči s ɣuṛ-i i d-yekka, yekka-d s ɣuṛ win i yi-d iceggɛen.
17 If anyone desires to do his will, he will know about the teaching, whether it is from God, or if I am speaking from myself.
17Win iqesden ad yexdem lebɣi n Ṛebbi ad yeɛqel ma yella wayen i sselmadeɣ yekka-d s ɣuṛ Ṛebbi neɣ d imeslayen-iw kan.
18 He who speaks from himself seeks his own glory, but he who seeks the glory of him who sent him is true, and no unrighteousness is in him.
18Win iheddṛen s yisem-is yețqellib ad yawi cciɛa i yiman-is. Ma d win yețqelliben a d-yawi cciɛa i win i t-id iceggɛen yeqqaṛ tideț, ulac deg-s lexdeɛ.
19 Didn’t Moses give you the law, and yet none of you keeps the law? Why do you seek to kill me?”
19Nnbi Musa yeǧǧa-yawen-d ccariɛa, lameɛna ulac gar-awen win i ț-itebɛen ! Acuɣeṛ i tețqellibem a yi tenɣem ?
20The multitude answered, “You have a demon! Who seeks to kill you?”
20Lɣaci nnan-as : Anwa akka i gebɣan a k-ineɣ ? Waqila ikcem-ik lǧen !
21Jesus answered them, “I did one work, and you all marvel because of it.
21Sidna Ɛisa yenna-yasen : ?ef wayen akka xedmeɣ i twehmem ?
22 Moses has given you circumcision (not that it is of Moses, but of the fathers), and on the Sabbath you circumcise a boy.
22Meyzet ɣef wayagi : nnbi Musa yeǧǧa-yawen-d lextana (ṭṭhaṛa), lɛadda-agi mačči s ɣuṛ-es i d-tekka meɛna s ɣuṛ lejdud-is. Atan tqeblem tessextanem deg wass n westeɛfu.
23 If a boy receives circumcision on the Sabbath, that the law of Moses may not be broken, are you angry with me, because I made a man completely healthy on the Sabbath?
23Ma yella tqeblem aț-țesxetnem i weqcic deg ass n westeɛfu, iwakken ur tețxalafem ara ccariɛa n Musa, acuɣeṛ terfam fell-i imi sseḥlaɣ amdan s lekmal-is deg wass n westeɛfu ?
24 Don’t judge according to appearance, but judge righteous judgment.”
24Beṛkat ! Ur ḥekkmet ara s wayen kan i țwalint wallen-nwen, lemdet aț-țḥekmem s lḥeqq.
25Therefore some of them of Jerusalem said, “Isn’t this he whom they seek to kill?
25Kra n imezdaɣ n temdint n Lquds wehmen, qqaṛen : Mačči d win akken i țqelliben a t-nɣen ?
26Behold, he speaks openly, and they say nothing to him. Can it be that the rulers indeed know that this is truly the Christ?
26Atan iheddeṛ ɛinani zdat lɣaci, yiwen ur s-yenni acemma ! Ɛeqlen-t lɛulama-nneɣ d nețța i d Lmasiḥ ?
27However we know where this man comes from, but when the Christ comes, no one will know where he comes from.”
27Argaz-agi neẓra ansi-t, lameɛna Lmasiḥ asm'ara d-yas yiwen ur iẓerr ansi ara d-yekk.
28Jesus therefore cried out in the temple, teaching and saying, “You both know me, and know where I am from. I have not come of myself, but he who sent me is true, whom you don’t know.
28Sidna Ɛisa yenṭeq s ṣṣut ɛlayen, slan-as-d akk deg wefrag n Lǧameɛ iqedsen, yenna : Tessnem-iyi yerna teẓram ansi i d-kkiɣ ! Ur d-usiɣ ara s lebɣi-w, lameɛna d Bab n lḥeqq i yi-d iceggɛen; kunwi ur t-tessinem ara.
29 I know him, because I am from him, and he sent me.”
29Nekkini ssneɣ-t axaṭer s ɣuṛ-es i d-usiɣ yerna d nețța i yi-d-iceggɛen.
30They sought therefore to take him; but no one laid a hand on him, because his hour had not yet come.
30Bɣan a t-ṭṭfen imiren, meɛna yiwen ur yesris afus-is fell-as imi ass-is urɛad d-yewwiḍ.
31But of the multitude, many believed in him. They said, “When the Christ comes, he won’t do more signs than those which this man has done, will he?”
31Aṭas n lɣaci si terbaɛt-nni i gumnen yis, qqaṛen : M'ara d-yas Lmasiḥ, eɛni ad ixdem lbeṛhanat yugaren wigi ?
32The Pharisees heard the multitude murmuring these things concerning him, and the chief priests and the Pharisees sent officers to arrest him.
32Ifariziyen wwin-d s lexbaṛ s wayen heddṛen lɣaci ɣef Sidna Ɛisa, dɣa lmuqedmin imeqqranen akk-d ifariziyen ceggɛen iɛessasen a t-id ṭṭfen.
33Then Jesus said, “I will be with you a little while longer, then I go to him who sent me.
33Sidna Ɛisa yenna i lɣaci : Mazal-iyi kra n lweqt yid-wen, syin akkin ad uɣaleɣ ɣer win i yi-d iceggɛen.
34 You will seek me, and won’t find me; and where I am, you can’t come.”
34Aț-țqellbem fell-i ur iyi-tețțafem ara imi ur tezmirem ara a d-tasem ɣer wanda ara yiliɣ.
35The Jews therefore said among themselves, “Where will this man go that we won’t find him? Will he go to the Dispersion among the Greeks, and teach the Greeks?
35At Isṛail qqaṛen wway gar-asen : Anda akka ara iṛuḥ armi ur nețțizmir ara a t-naf ? Eɛni ad iṛuḥ ɣer wat Isṛail ițwazerɛen ger leǧnas ? Neɣ ibɣa ad isselmed leǧnas nniḍen ?
36What is this word that he said, ‘You will seek me, and won’t find me; and where I am, you can’t come’? ”
36D acu i gebɣa a d-yini mi d-iqqaṛ : « aț-țqellbem fell-i, ur iyi-tețțafem ara axaṭer ur tezmirem ara a d-tasem ɣer wanda ara yiliɣ.»
37Now on the last and greatest day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, “If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink!
37Ass aneggaru n lɛid, yellan d ass yesɛan aṭas n lqima ; Sidna Ɛisa ibedden ger lɣaci iɛeggeḍ, yenna : Win iffuden a d-yas ɣuṛ-i ad isew ; win yumnen yis-i a d-yas ad isew.
38 He who believes in me, as the Scripture has said, from within him will flow rivers of living water.”
38Akken yura di lkutub : D isaffen n waman ara d-ițfeggiḍen seg-s.
39But he said this about the Spirit, which those believing in him were to receive. For the Holy Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus wasn’t yet glorified.
39Sidna Ɛisa yenna-d ayagi ɣef Ṛṛuḥ iqedsen ara yeččaṛen ulawen n wid yumnen yis. Di lweqt-nni, Ṛṛuḥ iqedsen mazal ur d-ițțunefk ara axaṭer Sidna Ɛisa werɛad yekcim tamanegt-is.
40Many of the multitude therefore, when they heard these words, said, “This is truly the prophet.”
40Ger lɣaci i s-d-yeslan, llan wid yeqqaṛen : Argaz-agi mbla ccekk d nețța i d nnbi-nni ara d-yasen !
41Others said, “This is the Christ.” But some said, “What, does the Christ come out of Galilee?
41Wiyaḍ qqaṛen : D nețța i d Lmasiḥ ! Ma d kra nniḍen qqaṛen : Yezmer Lmasiḥ a d-iffeɣ si tmurt n Jlili ?
42Hasn’t the Scripture said that the Christ comes of the seed of David, 2 Samuel 7:12 and from Bethlehem, Micah 5:2 the village where David was?”
42Ur yuri ara di tira iqedsen : Lmasiḥ a d-yeffeɣ si dderya n Sidna Dawed, si taddart n Bitlḥem ?
43So there arose a division in the multitude because of him.
43S wakka i gebda yețțimɣuṛ lxilaf ger lɣaci ɣef Sidna Ɛisa.
44Some of them would have arrested him, but no one laid hands on him.
44Kra deg-sen bɣan a t-ḥebsen lameɛna yiwen ur yesris afus-is fell-as.
45The officers therefore came to the chief priests and Pharisees, and they said to them, “Why didn’t you bring him?”
45Mi yuɣalen iɛessasen i d-yețwaceggɛen a t-ṭṭfen, lmuqedmin imeqqranen d ifariziyen nnan-asen : Iwacu ur t-id-tewwim ara ?
46The officers answered, “No man ever spoke like this man!”
46Nutni rran-asen : Di leɛmeṛ ur nesli i yiwen iheddeṛ am nețța.
47The Pharisees therefore answered them, “You aren’t also led astray, are you?
47Ifariziyen nnan-asen : Iseḥḥer-ikkun ula d kunwi ?
48Have any of the rulers believed in him, or of the Pharisees?
48Teẓram yiwen si lecyux-nneɣ, neɣ seg ifariziyen i gumnen yis ?
49But this multitude that doesn’t know the law is accursed.”
49Anagar lɣaci-agi ur nessin ara ccariɛa... a ten-inɛel Ṛebbi !
50Nicodemus (he who came to him by night, being one of them) said to them,
50Nikudem yellan d yiwen seg-sen, win akken i gṛuḥen deg iḍ ɣer Sidna Ɛisa, yenna-yasen :
51“Does our law judge a man, unless it first hears from him personally and knows what he does?”
51Tserreḥ-aɣ ccariɛa-nneɣ a neḥkem ɣef yiwen uqbel a s-nsel neɣ uqbel a nẓer d acu n cceṛ i gexdem ?
52They answered him, “Are you also from Galilee? Search, and see that no prophet has arisen out of Galilee. See Isaiah 9:1 and Matthew 4:13-16. ”
52Nutni rran-as : Ula d kečč d ajlili ? Qelleb mliḥ di tira iqedsen aț-țafeḍ : « Ulac nnbi ara d-yekken si tmurt n Jlili.»
53Everyone went to his own house,
53Imiren, mkul yiwen yuɣal ɣer wexxam-is.
