John

8

1but Jesus went to the Mount of Olives.
1Sidna Ɛisa yuli s yiɣil uzemmur ;
2Now very early in the morning, he came again into the temple, and all the people came to him. He sat down, and taught them.
3The scribes and the Pharisees brought a woman taken in adultery. Having set her in the midst,
3Atnaya lɛulama n ccariɛa akk-d ifariziyen wwin-as-d yiwet n tmeṭṭut ṭṭfen-ț txeddem zzna. Sbedden-ț ger lɣaci akken a ț iwali Sidna Ɛisa.
4they told him, “Teacher, we found this woman in adultery, in the very act.
4Nnan-as : A Sidi, neṭṭef tameṭṭut-agi mi txeddem zzna.
5Now in our law, Moses commanded us to stone such. What then do you say about her?”
5Di ccariɛa, Sidna Musa yumeṛ-aɣ-d a neṛjem s yedɣaɣen tameṭṭut am tagi alamma temmut. I keččini d acu ara d-tiniḍ ?
6They said this testing him, that they might have something to accuse him of. But Jesus stooped down, and wrote on the ground with his finger.
6Steqsan-t iwakken a t-jeṛṛben, țnadin sebba s wacu ara ccetkin fell-as. Sidna Ɛisa yekna, yețțaru s uḍad-is di lqaɛa.
7But when they continued asking him, he looked up and said to them, “He who is without sin among you, let him throw the first stone at her.”
7Imi t-ḥeṛṣen s usteqsi, yekker yenna-yasen : Win deg-wen werǧin yednib a ț-yeṛjem d amezwaru !
8Again he stooped down, and with his finger wrote on the ground.
8Yekna daɣen yețțaru di lqaɛa.
9They, when they heard it, being convicted by their conscience, went out one by one, beginning from the oldest, even to the last. Jesus was left alone with the woman where she was, in the middle.
9Lɣaci-nni, mi slan annect-agi, bdan tixxiṛen yiwen yiwen, seg umɣaṛ armi d ameẓyan. ?ǧan dinna Sidna Ɛisa weḥd-es di tlemmast n wefrag n lǧameɛ iqedsen, nețța ț-țmeṭṭut-nni.
10Jesus, standing up, saw her and said, “Woman, where are your accusers? Did no one condemn you?”
10Dɣa yerfed allen-is, yenna-yas : A tameṭṭut, anda-ten widak-nni i d-icetkan fell-am ? Ulac win iḥekmen fell-am ?
11She said, “No one, Lord.” Jesus said, “Neither do I condemn you. Go your way. From now on, sin no more.”
11Tenna-yas : Ulac a Sidi ! Sidna Ɛisa yenna-yas : Ula d nekk ur ḥekkmeɣ ara fell-am. Ṛuḥ, meɛna sya d asawen xḍu i ddnub.
12Again, therefore, Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the light of life.”
12Sidna Ɛisa iheddeṛ i lɣaci yenna yasen : D nekk i ț-țafat n ddunit, win ara yi-tebɛen ur iteddu ara di ṭṭlam, lameɛna ad yesɛu tafat n tudert.
13The Pharisees therefore said to him, “You testify about yourself. Your testimony is not valid.”
13Ifariziyen nnan-as : Tețcehhiḍeḍ ɣef yiman-ik, cchada-inek ur tṣeḥḥa ara.
14Jesus answered them, “Even if I testify about myself, my testimony is true, for I know where I came from, and where I am going; but you don’t know where I came from, or where I am going.
14Sidna Ɛisa yenna-yasen : ?-țideț, țcehhideɣ ɣef yiman-iw, lameɛna cchada-inu tṣeḥḥa, axaṭer ?riɣ ansi d-kkiɣ, ẓriɣ daɣen ɣer wanda tedduɣ. Ma d kunwi ur te?rim ansi d-kkiɣ ur teẓrim anda tedduɣ.
15 You judge according to the flesh. I judge no one.
15Kunwi tḥekkmem ɣef wiyaḍ s lɛeqliya n wemdan, ma d nekk ur ḥekkmeɣ ɣef yiwen.
16 Even if I do judge, my judgment is true, for I am not alone, but I am with the Father who sent me.
16Ma yella yewwi-d lḥal ad ḥekmeɣ, ad ḥekkmeɣ s lḥeqq axaṭer ur lliɣ ara weḥd-i, Baba Ṛebbi i yi-d-iceggɛen yella yid-i.
17 It’s also written in your law that the testimony of two people is valid.
17Yura di ccariɛa-nwen belli ma ddukklen sin inigan ɣef yiwet n cchada, cchada-nsen tețwaqbel.
18 I am one who testifies about myself, and the Father who sent me testifies about me.”
18Atan nekk cehdeɣ-ed ɣef yiman-iw, Baba i yi-d-iceggɛen d inigi fell-i.
19They said therefore to him, “Where is your Father?” Jesus answered, “You know neither me, nor my Father. If you knew me, you would know my Father also.”
19Nutni nnan-as : Anda yella Baba-k ? Yerra-yasen : Ur iyi-tessinem, ur tessinem Baba. Lemmer i yi-tessinem, tili tesnem Baba.
20Jesus spoke these words in the treasury, as he taught in the temple. Yet no one arrested him, because his hour had not yet come.
20Sidna Ɛisa yenna-d annect-agi mi gesselmad deg wefrag n lǧameɛ iqedsen, zdat wemkan anda srusun lweɛdat. Ula d yiwen ur yesris afus-is fell-as axaṭer urɛad d-yewwiḍ wass-is.
21Jesus said therefore again to them, “I am going away, and you will seek me, and you will die in your sins. Where I go, you can’t come.”
21Sidna Ɛisa yerna yenna-yasen : Atan ad ṛuḥeɣ, aț-țqellbem fell-i lameɛna aț-țemtem di ddnub-nwen, ur tezmirem ara a d-tasem ɣer wanda ara ṛuḥeɣ.
22The Jews therefore said, “Will he kill himself, that he says, ‘Where I am going, you can’t come?’
22At Isṛail qqaṛen wway gar-asen : Ahat yebɣa ad ineɣ iman-is imi ɣ-d-yenna ur tezmirem ara a d-tasem ɣer wanda ara ṛuḥeɣ ?
23He said to them, “You are from beneath. I am from above. You are of this world. I am not of this world.
23Sidna Ɛisa yerra-yasen : Kunwi n lqaɛa nekk n igenwan ; kunwi n ddunit-agi nekk mačči-yines.
24 I said therefore to you that you will die in your sins; for unless you believe that I am he, you will die in your sins.”
24Daymi i wen-d-nniɣ aț-țemtem di ddnub-nwen. Atan m'ur tuminem ara belli nekk « d Win yellan, » aț-țemtem di ddnub-nwen.
25They said therefore to him, “Who are you?” Jesus said to them, “Just what I have been saying to you from the beginning.
25Nnan-as : Anwa-k keččini ? Sidna Ɛisa yerra-yasen : D win akken i wen-d-qqaṛeɣ si tazwara.
26 I have many things to speak and to judge concerning you. However he who sent me is true; and the things which I heard from him, these I say to the world.”
26?ef wayen i kkun-yeɛnan sɛiɣ aṭas ara d-iniɣ, aṭas ara ḥasbeɣ ; win i yi-d-iceggɛen d Bab n tideț, d ayen i sliɣ ɣuṛ-es i d-țɛawadeɣ di ddunit.
27They didn’t understand that he spoke to them about the Father.
27Imi ur fhimen ara belli ɣef Baba Ṛebbi i sen-d-iheddeṛ,
28Jesus therefore said to them, “When you have lifted up the Son of Man, then you will know that I am he, and I do nothing of myself, but as my Father taught me, I say these things.
28yenna-yasen daɣen : Asm'ara tessaɛlim Mmi-s n bunadem, imiren aț-țfiqem belli nekk « d Win yellan !» Aț-țɛeqlem belli ur xeddmeɣ acemma s yiman-iw, lameɛna qqaṛeɣ-ed ayen i yi-iselmed Baba Ṛebbi.
29 He who sent me is with me. The Father hasn’t left me alone, for I always do the things that are pleasing to him.”
29Win i yi-d-iceggɛen yella yid-i, ur yi-țțaǧa ara weḥd-i imi dayem xeddmeɣ lebɣi-s.
30As he spoke these things, many believed in him.
30Mi d-yenna imeslayen-agi, aṭas i gumnen yis.
31Jesus therefore said to those Jews who had believed him, “If you remain in my word, then you are truly my disciples.
31Sidna Ɛisa yenna i wat Isṛail i gumnen yis : Ma teṭṭfem s tideț deg awal-iw aț-țilim d inelmaden-iw n ṣṣeḥ.
32 You will know the truth, and the truth will make you free.”
32Aț-țissinem tideț, tideț ara kkun isuffɣen ɣer tlelli.
33They answered him, “We are Abraham’s seed, and have never been in bondage to anyone. How do you say, ‘You will be made free?’
33Nnan-as : Nukni ț-țarwa n Sidna Ibṛahim. Di leɛmeṛ ur nelli d aklan n walebɛaḍ ; amek i tzemreḍ a d-tiniḍ : « Aț-țesɛum tilelli »?
34Jesus answered them, “Most certainly I tell you, everyone who commits sin is the bondservant of sin.
34Sidna Ɛisa yerra-yasen : S tideț qqaṛeɣ-awen : kra n win ixeddmen ddnub d akli n ddnub.
35 A bondservant doesn’t live in the house forever. A son remains forever.
35Aklan ur țwaḥsaben ara n at wexxam ma d mmi-s n wexxam yețwaḥseb dayem n at wexxam.
36 If therefore the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed.
36Ma yella d Mmi-s i wen-d-yefkan tilelli, aț-țilim s tideț di tlelli.
37 I know that you are Abraham’s seed, yet you seek to kill me, because my word finds no place in you.
37?riɣ belli kunwi ț-țarwa n Ibṛahim, lameɛna tețnadim a yi tenɣem axaṭer awal-iw ur ikeččem ara ulawen-nwen.
38 I say the things which I have seen with my Father; and you also do the things which you have seen with your father.”
38Nekk qqaṛeɣ-ed ayen ẓriɣ ɣer Baba, ma d kunwi txeddmem ayen i tlemdem s ɣuṛ Baba-twen !
39They answered him, “Our father is Abraham.” Jesus said to them, “If you were Abraham’s children, you would do the works of Abraham.
39At Isṛail rran-as : Baba-tneɣ nukkni, d Sidna Ibṛahim. Sidna Ɛisa yenna-yasen : Lemmer ț-țideț d arraw n Ibṛahim i tellam , tili txeddmem lecɣal i gxeddem Ibṛahim ;
40 But now you seek to kill me, a man who has told you the truth, which I heard from God. Abraham didn’t do this.
40kunwi tețqellibem a yi-tenɣem, acuɣeṛ ? Axaṭer qqaṛeɣ-awen-d tideț akken i ț-sliɣ ɣer Baba Ṛebbi. Ibṛahim di leɛmeṛ ur yexdim am kunwi !
41 You do the works of your father.” They said to him, “We were not born of sexual immorality. We have one Father, God.”
41Kunwi txeddmem akken i gxeddem Baba twen ! Nutni rran-as : Ur nelli ara d arraw n leḥṛam ; nesɛa yiwen n Baba-tneɣ kan : d Ṛebbi !
42Therefore Jesus said to them, “If God were your father, you would love me, for I came out and have come from God. For I haven’t come of myself, but he sent me.
42Sidna Ɛisa yenna-yasen : Lemmer ț-țideț d Ṛebbi i d Baba twen tili tḥemmlem-iyi axaṭer s ɣuṛ-es i d-kkiɣ, s ɣuṛ-es i d-usiɣ ɣuṛ-wen. Ur d-usiɣ ara s yiman-iw lameɛna d nețța i yi-d-iceggɛen.
43 Why don’t you understand my speech? Because you can’t hear my word.
43Acuɣeṛ ur tfehhmem ara ayen i wen-d-qqaṛeɣ ? Axaṭer ur tezmirem ara aț-țqeblem imeslayen-iw.
44 You are of your father, the devil, and you want to do the desires of your father. He was a murderer from the beginning, and doesn’t stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks on his own; for he is a liar, and its father.
44Baba-twen d Cciṭan yerna tebɣam aț-țxedmem lebɣi-s. Nețța d bu-tmegṛaḍ si tazwara, ur yeṭṭif ara di tideț axaṭer ulac deg-s tideț. M'ara yeskiddib, yețmeslay-ed seg ul-is imi d ameskaddab i gella ; d nețța i d bab n lekdeb.
45 But because I tell the truth, you don’t believe me.
45Lameɛna nekk qqaṛeɣ-d tideț, daymi ur iyi-tețțamnem ara.
46 Which of you convicts me of sin? If I tell the truth, why do you not believe me?
46Anwa deg-wen ara yi-d-issuksen ula yiwet n lɣelṭa ? Ma nniɣ-ed tideț, iwacu ur iyi-tețțamnem ara ?
47 He who is of God hears the words of God. For this cause you don’t hear, because you are not of God.”
47Win yellan n Ṛebbi yesmeḥsis i wawal n Ṛebbi. Kunwi ur tellim ara n Ṛebbi, daymi ur tesmeḥsisem ara i wawal-is.
48Then the Jews answered him, “Don’t we say well that you are a Samaritan, and have a demon?”
48At Isṛail nnan-as : Nesɛa lḥeqq mi d-nenna kečč d asamari, yerna izdeɣ-ik uṛuḥani !
49Jesus answered, “I don’t have a demon, but I honor my Father, and you dishonor me.
49Sidna Ɛisa yerra-yasen : Ur iyi-izdiɣ ara uṛuḥani. Nekk țɛuzzuɣ Baba Ṛebbi, kunwi tḥeqṛem-iyi.
50 But I don’t seek my own glory. There is one who seeks and judges.
50Ur țqellibeɣ ara ccan i yiman-iw, yella win yețḥebbiṛen fell-i, d nețța ara yi-d-yefken lḥeqq.
51 Most certainly, I tell you, if a person keeps my word, he will never see death.”
51A wen-iniɣ tideț : win iḥerzen awal-iw ur yețmețțat ara maḍi.
52Then the Jews said to him, “Now we know that you have a demon. Abraham died, and the prophets; and you say, ‘If a man keeps my word, he will never taste of death.’
52At Isṛail nnan-as : Atan tura iban izdeɣ-ik uṛuḥani ! Sidna Ibṛahim yemmut, lenbiya mmuten, kečč teqqaṛeḍ : win iḥerzen awal-iw ur yețmețțat ara maḍi !
53Are you greater than our father, Abraham, who died? The prophets died. Who do you make yourself out to be?”
53Tugareḍ baba-tneɣ Ibṛahim neɣ lenbiya meṛṛa i gemmuten ? D acu i tḥesbeḍ iman-ik ?
54Jesus answered, “If I glorify myself, my glory is nothing. It is my Father who glorifies me, of whom you say that he is our God.
54Sidna Ɛisa yerra-yasen : Ma fkiɣ ccan i yiman-iw, ccan-iw ur yesɛi ara azal. Win i yi-d-yețțaken ccan d Baba, win akken i teqqaṛem « d Ṛebbi-nneɣ.»
55 You have not known him, but I know him. If I said, ‘I don’t know him,’ I would be like you, a liar. But I know him, and keep his word.
55Kunwi ur t-tessinem ara, nekkini ssneɣ-t. Ma nniɣ-ed ur t-ssineɣ ara ad uɣaleɣ d akeddab am kunwi. Lameɛna ssneɣ-t yerna xeddmeɣ lebɣi-s.
56 Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day. He saw it, and was glad.”
56Baba-twen Ibṛahim yefṛeḥ mi geẓra iteddu-d wass-iw, tura mi t-yeẓra yefṛeḥ aṭas.
57The Jews therefore said to him, “You are not yet fifty years old, and have you seen Abraham?”
57At Isṛail nnan-as : Amek, urɛad tesɛiḍ xemsin iseggasen teqqaṛeḍ walaɣ Ibṛahim ?
58Jesus said to them, “Most certainly, I tell you, before Abraham came into existence, I AM.
58Sidna Ɛisa yenna-yasen : Uqbel a d-ilal Ibṛahim, lliɣ !
59Therefore they took up stones to throw at him, but Jesus was hidden, and went out of the temple, having gone through their midst, and so passed by.
59?ef wannect-agi i d-ddmen wat Isṛail iblaḍen iwakken a t-ṛeǧmen. Sidna Ɛisa yekcem ger lɣaci, yeffeɣ seg wefrag n lǧameɛ iqedsen.
