16

1The word of Yahweh came to Jehu the son of Hanani against Baasha, saying,
1Li Kâcuaß quiâtinac riqßuin li profeta Jehú, li ralal laj Hanani ut quixye re nak tixye re li rey Baasa nak incßaß us yô.
2“Because I exalted you out of the dust, and made you prince over my people Israel, and you have walked in the way of Jeroboam, and have made my people Israel to sin, to provoke me to anger with their sins;
2Laj Jehú quixye re laj Baasa: —Joßcaßin quixye âcue li Kâcuaß. “Lâat mâcßaß âcuanquil nak xatcuan. Lâin xinqßue âcuanquil nak xatinxakab chi taklânc saß xbêneb laj Israel, lin tenamit. Abanan lâat xabânu li mâusilal joß quixbânu laj Jeroboam. Xacßameb xbe laj Israel chi mâcobc. Xban li mâc xabânu, xachikß injoskßil.
3behold, I will utterly sweep away Baasha and his house; and I will make your house like the house of Jeroboam the son of Nebat.
3Joßcan nak lâin tinsach âcuu ut tinsach ruheb lâ cualal âcßajol joß nak xinsach ru laj Jeroboam, li ralal laj Nabat, joß eb ajcuiß li ralal xcßajol.
4The dogs will eat Baasha’s descendants who die in the city; and he who dies of his in the field the birds of the sky will eat.”
4Eb lâ cualal âcßajol li teßcâmk saß tenamit teßtißekß xbaneb li tzßiß. Ut eb li teßcâmk saß cßalebâl teßtißekß xbaneb li soßsol,” chan li Kâcuaß.—
5Now the rest of the acts of Baasha, and what he did, and his might, aren’t they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?
5Chixjunil li quixbânu li rey Baasa ut chanru nak quicuan saß xcuanquil, tzßîbanbil retalil saß li hu Crónicas, li tzßîbanbil cuiß li quilajeßxbânu lix reyeb laj Israel.
6Baasha slept with his fathers, and was buried in Tirzah; and Elah his son reigned in his place.
6Laj Baasa quicam ut quimukeß Tirsa. Ut aß chic laj Ela, li ralal, qui-oc saß xcuanquil chokß rêkaj.
7Moreover by the prophet Jehu the son of Hanani came the word of Yahweh against Baasha, and against his house, both because of all the evil that he did in the sight of Yahweh, to provoke him to anger with the work of his hands, in being like the house of Jeroboam, and because he struck him.
7Li profeta Jehú, li ralal laj Hanani, quixye li cßaßru quiyeheß re xban li Kâcuaß chirix laj Baasa ut chirixeb ajcuiß li ralal xcßajol xban li mâusilal li quixbânu chiru li Kâcuaß. Laj Baasa quixbânu joß quixbânu laj Jeroboam ut quixchikß xjoskßil li Dios xban li mâc quixbânu ut xban ajcuiß nak quixsach ruheb li ralal xcßajol laj Jeroboam.
8In the twenty-sixth year of Asa king of Judah, Elah the son of Baasha began to reign over Israel in Tirzah for two years.
8Nak yô cuakib xcaßcßâl chihab roquic chokß xreyeb laj Judá laj Asa, laj Ela, li ralal laj Baasa, qui-oc chokß xreyeb laj Israel. Cuib chihab quicuan saß xcuanquil aran Tirsa.
9His servant Zimri, captain of half his chariots, conspired against him. Now he was in Tirzah, drinking himself drunk in the house of Arza, who was over the household in Tirzah:
9Laj Zimri, li nacßanjelac chiru laj Ela, quixcßûb ru chanru nak tixcamsi. Laj Zimri, aßan li nataklan saß xbêneb yi jach lix carruaje laj Ela. Saß jun li cutan laj Ela cuan saß rochoch laj Arsa, li na-iloc re lix jun cablal. Qui-ucßac ut quicala.
10and Zimri went in and struck him, and killed him, in the twenty-seventh year of Asa king of Judah, and reigned in his place.
10Laj Zimri qui-oc cuan cuiß laj Ela ut quixcamsi. Chirix aßan laj Zimri qui-oc chokß xreyeb laj Judá chokß rêkaj laj Ela. Aßin quicßulman nak yô cuukub xcaßcßâl chihab roquic chokß xreyeb laj Judá laj Asa.
11It happened, when he began to reign, as soon as he sat on his throne, that he struck all the house of Baasha: he didn’t leave him a single one who urinates on a wall, neither of his relatives, nor of his friends.
11Nak laj Zimri qui-oc saß xcuanquil quixcamsiheb chixjunileb li ralal xcßajol laj Baasa. Chixjunileb li cuînk, joß rechßalal, joß ramîg, queßcamsîc.
12Thus Zimri destroyed all the house of Baasha, according to the word of Yahweh, which he spoke against Baasha by Jehu the prophet,
12Quicßulman joß quixye li Dios re li profeta Jehú chirix laj Baasa. Laj Zimri quixcamsi chixjunileb li ralal xcßajol laj Baasa.
13for all the sins of Baasha, and the sins of Elah his son, which they sinned, and with which they made Israel to sin, to provoke Yahweh, the God of Israel, to anger with their vanities.
13Queßcamsîc laj Baasa ut laj Ela li ralal xban li mâc queßxbânu ut xban ajcuiß nak queßxcßam xbeheb laj Israel chi mâcobc nak queßxlokßoni li jalanil dios li mâcßaß nequeßoc cuiß ut queßxchikß xjoskßil li Dios.
14Now the rest of the acts of Elah, and all that he did, aren’t they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?
14Chixjunil li quixbânu li rey Ela tzßîbanbil retalil saß li hu Crónicas, li tzßîbanbil cuiß li quilajeßxbânu lix reyeb laj Israel.
15In the twenty-seventh year of Asa king of Judah, Zimri reigned seven days in Tirzah. Now the people were encamped against Gibbethon, which belonged to the Philistines.
15Nak yô cuukub xcaßcßâl chihab roquic chokß xreyeb laj Judá laj Asa, laj Zimri qui-oc saß xcuanquil. Cuukub cutan quicuan chokß rey aran Tirsa. Eb lix soldados laj Israel cuanqueb Gibetón, saß lix tenamiteb laj filisteo.
16The people who were encamped heard say, Zimri has conspired, and has also struck the king: therefore all Israel made Omri, the captain of the army, king over Israel that day in the camp.
16Eb li soldados aj Israel queßrabi resil nak laj Zimri quixcamsi li rey Ela. Saß junpât queßxxakab laj Omri chokß xreyeb laj Israel saß li naßajej li cuanqueb cuiß. Laj Omri, aßan li quitaklan saß xbêneb li soldados nak toj mâjiß na-oc chokß rey.
17Omri went up from Gibbethon, and all Israel with him, and they besieged Tirzah.
17Chirix aßan laj Omri rochbeneb chixjunileb laj Israel queßel saß li tenamit Gibetón ut queßcôeb chi pletic saß li tenamit Tirsa.
18It happened, when Zimri saw that the city was taken, that he went into the castle of the king’s house, and burnt the king’s house over him with fire, and died,
18Laj Zimri quixqßue retal nak queßoc chi pletic saß li tenamit. Joßcan nak cô saß li palacio ut quixloch xxamlel. Ut aran quicßat laj Zimri saß li palacio.
19for his sins which he sinned in doing that which was evil in the sight of Yahweh, in walking in the way of Jeroboam, and in his sin which he did, to make Israel to sin.
19Quicam xban li mâc quixbânu. Quixbânu li mâusilal chiru li Kâcuaß, joß quixbânu laj Jeroboam. Quixchikß xjoskßil li Dios xban nak quixcßam xbeheb laj Israel chi mâcobc chiru li Kâcuaß.
20Now the rest of the acts of Zimri, and his treason that he committed, aren’t they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?
20Chixjunil li quixbânu li rey Zimri tzßîbanbil retalil saß li hu Crónicas, li tzßîbanbil cuiß li quilajeßxbânu lix reyeb laj Israel. Tzßîbanbil ajcuiß retalil chanru nak quixcamsi li rey Ela.
21Then were the people of Israel divided into two parts: half of the people followed Tibni the son of Ginath, to make him king; and half followed Omri.
21Ut eb li ralal xcßajol laj Israel queßxjach ribeb. Yi jach queßajoc re nak laj Tibni li ralal laj Ginat tâoc chokß rey ut queßoquen chirix. Ut li yi jach chic queßoquen chirix laj Omri.
22But the people who followed Omri prevailed against the people who followed Tibni the son of Ginath: so Tibni died, and Omri reigned.
22Eb li yôqueb chi oquênc chirix laj Omri queßnumta saß xbêneb li jun jachal chic. Laj Tibni quicam ut laj Omri qui-oc chokß rey.
23In the thirty-first year of Asa king of Judah, Omri began to reign over Israel for twelve years. He reigned six years in Tirzah.
23Nak yô junlaju xcaßcßâl chihab roquic chokß xreyeb laj Judá laj Asa, laj Omri qui-oc chokß xreyeb laj Israel. Cablaju chihab quicuan chokß rey. Li xbên cuakib chihab quicuan saß li tenamit Tirsa.
24He bought the hill Samaria of Shemer for two talents of silver; and he built on the hill, and called the name of the city which he built, after the name of Shemer, the owner of the hill, Samaria.
24Laj Omri quixlokß riqßuin laj Semer li tzûl li cuan Samaria. Quixlokß chi jun ciento riqßuin ôb roxcßâl libras li plata. Ut saß li naßajej aßan quixyîb jun li tenamit chi châbil. Samaria quixqßue chokß xcßabaß li tenamit aßan. Quixqßue li xcßabaß aßan xban nak aj Semer xcßabaß laj êchal re li naßajej junxil.
25Omri did that which was evil in the sight of Yahweh, and dealt wickedly above all who were before him.
25Laj Omri quixbânu li mâusilal chiru li Kâcuaß. Kßaxal cuißchic yibru quixbânu chiru li queßxbânu eb li rey li quilajeßcuan.
26For he walked in all the way of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, and in his sins with which he made Israel to sin, to provoke Yahweh, the God of Israel, to anger with their vanities.
26Quixbânu li mâusilal joß quixbânu laj Jeroboam. Quixchikß xjoskßil li Kâcuaß xban li mâc quixbânu ut xban ajcuiß nak quixcßam xbeheb laj Israel chi mâcobc chiru li Kâcuaß nak queßxlokßoni li jalanil dios.
27Now the rest of the acts of Omri which he did, and his might that he showed, aren’t they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?
27Chixjunil li quixbânu li rey Omri, joß ajcuiß li quixbânu riqßuin xcacuilal xchßôl, tzßîbanbil retalil saß li hu Crónicas, li tzßîbanbil cuiß li quilajeßxbânu lix reyeb laj Israel.
28So Omri slept with his fathers, and was buried in Samaria; and Ahab his son reigned in his place.
28Li rey Omri quicam ut quimukeß saß li tenamit Samaria. Ut aß chic laj Acab li ralal qui-oc saß xcuanquil chokß rêkaj.
29In the thirty-eighth year of Asa king of Judah began Ahab the son of Omri to reign over Israel: and Ahab the son of Omri reigned over Israel in Samaria twenty-two years.
29Ac yô cuakxaklaju xcaßcßâl chihab roquic chokß rey laj Asa saß li naßajej Judá nak laj Acab li ralal laj Omri qui-oc chokß rey aran Israel.
30Ahab the son of Omri did that which was evil in the sight of Yahweh above all that were before him.
30Cuib xcaßcßâl chihab quicuan saß xcuanquil saß li tenamit Samaria. Quimâcob chiru li Kâcuaß ut kßaxal cuißchic numtajenak li mâusilal li quixbânu chiru li queßxbânu li queßcuan chokß rey nak toj mâjiß na-oc saß xcuanquil aßan.
31It happened, as if it had been a light thing for him to walk in the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, that he took as wife Jezebel the daughter of Ethbaal king of the Sidonians, and went and served Baal, and worshiped him.
31Incßaß quicßoxlac chixbânunquil li mâc li quixbânu laj Jeroboam li ralal laj Nabat. Ut kßaxal cuißchic yibru quixbânu nak quixcßam chok rixakil lix Jezabel lix rabin laj Et-baal lix reyeb laj Sidón. Ut laj Acab quixlokßoni li jalanil dios Baal.
32He reared up an altar for Baal in the house of Baal, which he had built in Samaria.
32Quixqßue chi yîbâc jun li artal ut jun li templo aran Samaria re teßxlokßoni cuiß laj Baal.
33Ahab made the Asherah; and Ahab did yet more to provoke Yahweh, the God of Israel, to anger than all the kings of Israel who were before him.
33Ut quixqßue ajcuiß chi yîbâc jun li jalam ûch Asera xcßabaß. Ut kßaxal cuißchic quixtaksi xjoskßil li Dios xban nak kßaxal cuißchic yibru quixbânu chiru li queßxbânu li rey li queßcuan junxil aran Israel nak toj mâjiß na-oc laj Acab saß xcuanquil.Chiruheb li cutan aßan jun li cuînk Bet-el xtenamit, aj Hiel xcßabaß, quixyîb cuißchic li tenamit Jericó. Ut nak quixqßue lix cimiento, quicam laj Abiram li xbên ralal. Ut nak queßxqßue saß xnaßajeb lix puertil li tzßac, quicam laj Segub li îtzßinbej. Joßcaßin nak quitzßakloc ru li quixye laj Josué li ralal laj Nun nak quixye li cßaßru quiyeheß re xban li Kâcuaß.
34In his days Hiel the Bethelite built Jericho: he laid its foundation with the loss of Abiram his firstborn, and set up its gates with the loss of his youngest son Segub, according to the word of Yahweh, which he spoke by Joshua the son of Nun.
34Chiruheb li cutan aßan jun li cuînk Bet-el xtenamit, aj Hiel xcßabaß, quixyîb cuißchic li tenamit Jericó. Ut nak quixqßue lix cimiento, quicam laj Abiram li xbên ralal. Ut nak queßxqßue saß xnaßajeb lix puertil li tzßac, quicam laj Segub li îtzßinbej. Joßcaßin nak quitzßakloc ru li quixye laj Josué li ralal laj Nun nak quixye li cßaßru quiyeheß re xban li Kâcuaß.
