2 Kings

12

1In the seventh year of Jehu began Jehoash to reign; and he reigned forty years in Jerusalem: and his mother’s name was Zibiah of Beersheba.
1Nak yô xcuuk chihab roquic chokß rey laj Jehú aran Israel, laj Joás qui-oc chokß rey aran Judá. Caßcßâl chihab quicuan saß xcuanquil Jerusalén. Lix naß laj Joás, aßan lix Sibia, Beerseba xtenamit.
2Jehoash did that which was right in the eyes of Yahweh all his days in which Jehoiada the priest instructed him.
2Laj Joás quixbânu li us chiru li Kâcuaß xban nak laj Joiada laj tij junelic yô chixqßuebal xnaßleb.
3However the high places were not taken away; the people still sacrificed and burnt incense in the high places.
3Laj Joás us quixbânu, abanan incßaß quirisiheb li naßajej li najt xteram li nequeßlokßonîc cuiß li yîbanbil dios. Eb li tenamit toj yôqueb chixcßatbal lix mayej ut yôqueb chixcßatbal lix incienso saß xbêneb li artal li cuanqueb aran.
4Jehoash said to the priests, “All the money of the holy things that is brought into the house of Yahweh, in current money, the money of the persons for whom each man is rated, and all the money that it comes into any man’s heart to bring into the house of Yahweh,
4Saß jun li cutan laj Joás quixye reheb laj tij: —Têxoc ut têchßutub ru chixjunil li tumin li naqßueman saß lix templo li Kâcuaß, joß ajcuiß li joß qßuial li tento teßxtoj li junjûnk joß ajcuiß li na-ala saß xchßôleb xqßuebal.
5let the priests take it to them, every man from his acquaintance; and they shall repair the breaches of the house, wherever any breach shall be found.”
5Li junjûnk chi aj tij tâcßuluk re li tumin li naqßueman. Ut li tumin aßan tâcßanjelak re xyîbanquil chi us li templo bar yîbâc naraj.—
6But it was so, that in the three and twentieth year of king Jehoash the priests had not repaired the breaches of the house.
6Nak ac yô chic oxib xcaßcßâl chihab roquic laj Joás chokß rey, toj mâjiß ajcuiß queßxyîb chi us li templo eb laj tij.
7Then king Jehoash called for Jehoiada the priest, and for the other priests, and said to them, “Why don’t you repair the breaches of the house? Now therefore take no more money from your treasurers, but deliver it for the breaches of the house.”
7Joßcan nak laj Joás quixbok laj Joiada, lix yucuaßileb laj tij, ut quixbokeb ajcuiß li jun chßoleb chic aj tij. Quixpatzß reheb: —¿Cßaßut nak toj mâjiß nequeyîb li templo? Chalen anakcuan incßaß chic têcßul li tumin li nequeßxqßue li tenamit. Têkßaxtesi ban li tumin re nak tâyîbâk chi us li templo, chan.
8The priests consented that they should take no more money from the people, neither repair the breaches of the house.
8Eb laj tij queßxcßul xchßôl nak incßaß chic teßxcßul li tumin. Ut queßxcßul ajcuiß xchßôleb nak mâcuaßeb aßan li teßjolomînk re li cßanjel re xyîbanquil li templo.
9But Jehoiada the priest took a chest, and bored a hole in its lid, and set it beside the altar, on the right side as one comes into the house of Yahweh: and the priests who kept the threshold put therein all the money that was brought into the house of Yahweh.
9Ut laj Joiada lix bênil aj tij quixsicß jun li câx. Quixhop saß xbên lix tzßapbal re. Ut quixqßue li câx chixcßatk li artal saß li nim li nequeßoc cuiß saß lix templo li Kâcuaß. Ut eb laj tij li nequeßcßacßalen re li oquebâl re li templo queßxqßue chi saß li câx chixjunil li tumin li nequeßxqßue li tenamit.
10It was so, when they saw that there was much money in the chest, that the king’s scribe and the high priest came up, and they put up in bags and counted the money that was found in the house of Yahweh.
10Nak ac cuan nabal li tumin saß li câx li cuan saß li templo, naxic laj tzßîb li nacßanjelac chiru li rey rochben li xbênil aj tij. Nequeßrajla li tumin ut nequeßxxoc.
11They gave the money that was weighed out into the hands of those who did the work, who had the oversight of the house of Yahweh: and they paid it out to the carpenters and the builders, who worked on the house of Yahweh,
11Nak ac xeßxtzßîba retalil li tumin, nequeßxkßaxtesi reheb li nequeßjolomin re li cßanjel saß lix templo li Kâcuaß. Ut aßan eb chic li nequeßtojoc reheb laj cablanel ut eb laj pechß,
12and to the masons and the stone cutters, and for buying timber and cut stone to repair the breaches of the house of Yahweh, and for all that was laid out for the house to repair it.
12joßqueb ajcuiß laj tzßac ut eb li nequeßjoroc pec. Ut nequeßxqßue ajcuiß xtzßak li cheß ut li pec li tâcßanjelak re xyîbanquil li templo.
13But there were not made for the house of Yahweh cups of silver, snuffers, basins, trumpets, any vessels of gold, or vessels of silver, of the money that was brought into the house of Yahweh;
13Abanan li tumin aßan incßaß queßrocsi re xyîbanquil li secß plata, chi moco li ucßal, chi moco li trompeta. Incßaß quicßanjelac re xyîbanquil li chßîchß li nacßanjelac re xyîbanquil li lámparas, chi moco quicßanjelac re li cßaßak chic re ru yîbanbil riqßuin oro ut plata li tâcßanjelak saß lix templo li Kâcuaß.
14for they gave that to those who did the work, and repaired therewith the house of Yahweh.
14Quikßaxtesîc ban reheb li nequeßjolomin re li cßanjel re nak chiru li tumin aßan teßxyîb lix templo li Kâcuaß.
15Moreover they didn’t demand an accounting from the men into whose hand they delivered the money to give to those who did the work; for they dealt faithfully.
15Incßaß tento nak nequeßxbir rix li tumin li joß qßuial nequeßxsach xban nak eb li cuînk aßan queßcßanjelac saß xyâlal ut tîqueb xchßôl.
16The money for the trespass offerings, and the money for the sin offerings, was not brought into the house of Yahweh: it was the priests’.
16Ut li tumin li nequeßxqßue re xpatzßbal xcuybal xmâqueb, aßan incßaß nequeßxqßue saß li câx xban nak li tumin aßan nacßanjelac chiruheb laj tij.
17Then Hazael king of Syria went up, and fought against Gath, and took it; and Hazael set his face to go up to Jerusalem.
17Saß eb li cutan aßan laj Hazael lix reyeb laj Siria cô saß li tenamit Gat chi pletic ut quirêchani li tenamit. Ut quixye ajcuiß nak tâxic chi pletic aran Jerusalén.
18Jehoash king of Judah took all the holy things that Jehoshaphat and Jehoram and Ahaziah, his fathers, kings of Judah, had dedicated, and his own holy things, and all the gold that was found in the treasures of the house of Yahweh, and of the king’s house, and sent it to Hazael king of Syria: and he went away from Jerusalem.
18Ut laj Joás lix reyeb laj Judá, quixchßutub chixjunil li mayej li ac kßaxtesinbil chi cßanjelac saß li templo xbaneb laj Josafat, laj Joram, ut laj Ocozías lix xeßtônil yucuaß, li queßcuan chok xreyeb laj Judá junxil. Ut laj Joás quixcßam li oro li cßûlanbil saß li templo ut saß li palacio. Quixcßam ajcuiß li quixxoc aßan. Ut quixqßue chixjunil re laj Hazael. Joßcan nak laj Hazael incßaß chic quipletic riqßuineb laj Jerusalén.
19Now the rest of the acts of Joash, and all that he did, aren’t they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?

21For Jozacar the son of Shimeath, and Jehozabad the son of Shomer, his servants, struck him, and he died; and they buried him with his fathers in the city of David: and Amaziah his son reigned in his place.
