1Then after a period of fourteen years I went up again to Jerusalem with Barnabas, taking Titus also with me.
1Mokon chic nak ac xnume' câlaju chihab, côin cui'chic Jerusalén cuochben laj Bernabé. Ut kac'am laj Tito chikix.
2I went up by revelation, and I laid before them the Good News which I preach among the Gentiles, but privately before those who were respected, for fear that I might be running, or had run, in vain.
2Côin xban nak li Dios quixc'utbesi chicuu nak tento tinxic Jerusalén. Ut que'xch'utub rib li neque'c'amoc be chiruheb laj pâbanel. Ut quinserak'i reheb li resilal li evangelio li yôquin chixjulticanquil reheb li mâcua'eb aj judío. Quinch'olob xyâlal chiruheb re nak inc'a' tâcanâk chi mâc'a' rajbal chiruheb li c'a'ru yôquin chixbânunquil jo' ajcui' li ac xinbânu.
3But not even Titus, who was with me, being a Greek, was compelled to be circumcised.
3Laj Tito mâcua' aj judío. Abanan eb laj c'amol be inc'a' que'xmin ru chixc'ulbal li circuncisión.
4This was because of the false brothers secretly brought in, who stole in to spy out our liberty which we have in Christ Jesus, that they might bring us into bondage;
4Abanan cuan ajcui' junjûnk que'raj raj xminbal ru xc'ulbal li circuncisión. Eb a'an neque'xye rib nak aj pâbaneleb. Que'oc sa' kayânk chi mukmu re xq'uebal retal li usilal cuanco cui' sa' xc'aba' li Jesucristo ma yôco chixpâbanquil li najter chak'rab malaj inc'a'. Eb a'an que'raj raj cui'chic kaq'uebal rubel xcuanquil li najter chak'rab.
5to whom we gave no place in the way of subjection, not for an hour, that the truth of the Good News might continue with you.
5Abanan lâo mâ jok'e kabânu li c'a'ru que'xye ke xban nak lâo inc'a' quikaj nak te'xpo' ru li evangelio, li tz'akal yâl li ac xerabi.
6But from those who were reputed to be important (whatever they were, it makes no difference to me; God doesn’t show partiality to man)—they, I say, who were respected imparted nothing to me,
6Ut eb li nînkeb xcuanquil sa' xyânkeb laj pâbanel mâc'a' que'xye chirix li c'a'ru yôquin chixbânunquil. Mâc'a' nacuaj re usta nînkeb xcuanquil. Chiru li Dios juntak'êto.
7but to the contrary, when they saw that I had been entrusted with the Good News for the uncircumcision, even as Peter with the Good News for the circumcision
7Mâc'a' que'xye li nînkeb xcuanquil. Que'xq'ue ban retal nak tenebanbil sa' inbên xban li Dios xyebal resil li evangelio reheb li mâcua'eb aj judío jo' nak quitenebâc sa' xbên laj Pedro xban li Dios xyebal resil li evangelio reheb laj judío.
8(for he who appointed Peter to the apostleship of the circumcision appointed me also to the Gentiles);
8Li Dios quixsic' cuu chok' apóstol re tinc'anjelak sa' xyânkeb li mâcua'eb aj judío jo' nak quixsic' ru laj Pedro re tâc'anjelak sa' xyânkeb laj judío.
9and when they perceived the grace that was given to me, James and Cephas and John, they who were reputed to be pillars, gave to me and Barnabas the right hand of fellowship, that we should go to the Gentiles, and they to the circumcision.
9Laj Jacobo, laj Pedro ut laj Juan, a'aneb aj c'amol be sa' xyânkeb laj pâbanel. Nak que'xq'ue retal nak sic'bil cuu xban li Dios, que'xq'ue li ruk'eb cue ut re laj Bernabé. A'an retalil nak kacomon kib chi c'anjelac chiru li Dios. Ut xkac'ûb ru nak lâin ut laj Bernabé toc'anjelak sa' xyânkeb li mâcua'eb aj judío ut eb a'an te'c'anjelak sa' xyânkeb laj judío.
10They only asked us to remember the poor—which very thing I was also zealous to do.
10Ca'aj cui' li que'xtz'âma chiku nak che'julticok' ke eb li neba' li cuanqueb Jerusalén, ut a'an li ninq'ue inch'ôl chixbânunquil.
11But when Peter came to Antioch, I resisted him to his face, because he stood condemned.
11Nak quicuulac laj Pedro Antioquía, lâin quink'us xban nak inc'a' us li yô chixbânunquil.
12For before some people came from James, he ate with the Gentiles. But when they came, he drew back and separated himself, fearing those who were of the circumcision.
12Nak toj mâji' neque'cuulac li taklanbileb xban laj Jacobo, laj Pedro nacua'ac riq'uineb li mâcua'eb aj judío. Aban nak que'cuulac eb a'an, quirisi rib sa' xyânkeb li mâcua'eb aj judío xban nak quixxucuaheb ru laj judío li neque'yehoc re nak tento xc'ulbal li circuncisión.
13And the rest of the Jews joined him in his hypocrisy; so that even Barnabas was carried away with their hypocrisy.
13Eb laj pâbanel aj judío que'oc chixbânunquil li ca' pac'alil na'leb li quixbânu laj Pedro toj retal nak qui-oc ajcui' chixbânunquil laj Bernabé xban nak jo'can quic'ame' cui' xbe xbaneb.
14But when I saw that they didn’t walk uprightly according to the truth of the Good News, I said to Peter before them all, “If you, being a Jew, live as the Gentiles do, and not as the Jews do, why do you compel the Gentiles to live as the Jews do?
14Nak quinq'ue retal nak inc'a' yôqueb chixbânunquil jo' naraj li evangelio, chiruheb chixjunileb laj pâbanel quinye re laj Pedro: Yâl nak lâat aj judío chalen chak sa' lâ yo'lajic, abanan ac junxil xacanab xbânunquil li c'aynakeb chixbânunquil laj judío. ¿C'a'ut nak nacamineb ru li mâcua'eb laj judío chixbânunquil jo' neque'xbânu laj judío? chanquin re.
15“We, being Jews by nature, and not Gentile sinners,
15Lâo aj judío chalen chak sa' kayo'lajic ut mâcua'o xcomoneb li mâcua'eb aj judío, li neque'xye “aj mâc” reheb.
16yet knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law but through faith in Jesus Christ, even we believed in Christ Jesus, that we might be justified by faith in Christ, and not by the works of the law, because no flesh will be justified by the works of the law.
16Abanan nakanau nak mâ ani tâtîcobresîk xch'ôl chiru li Dios riq'uin xbânunquil li c'a'ru naxye li chak'rab. Riq'uin ban xpâbanquil li Jesucristo. Lâo xkapâb li Kâcua' Jesucristo re tâtîcobresîk kach'ôl chiru li Dios riq'uin xpâbanquil li Cristo ut mâcua' riq'uin xbânunquil li naxye li chak'rab cocole'. Riq'uin xbânunquil li naxye li chak'rab, mâ ani tâtîcobresîk xch'ôl chiru li Dios.
17But if, while we sought to be justified in Christ, we ourselves also were found sinners, is Christ a servant of sin? Certainly not!
17Cui yôco chixsic'bal xtîcobresinquil kach'ôl chiru li Dios sa' xc'aba' li Cristo, ut nak lâo chic tota'lîk chi cuan kamâc, ¿ma a'an ta bi' naraj naxye nak a' li Cristo yô chi q'uehoc ke chi mâcobc? Mâ jok'e bi'an.
18For if I build up again those things which I destroyed, I prove myself a law-breaker.
18Cui lâin tin-oc cui'chic xpâbanquil nak tâtîcobresîk inch'ôl chiru li Dios riq'uin xbânunquil li naxye li chak'rab, a'an naraj naxye nak chi yâl lâin aj mâc xban nak ac junxil xincanab xpâbanquil li na'leb a'an.
19For I, through the law, died to the law, that I might live to God.
19Chanchan nak li najter chak'rab xq'uehoc cue chi câmc xban nak a'an xc'utuc re chicuu nak lâin aj mâc. Anakcuan camenakin chic chiru lix cuanquil li chak'rab re nak yo'yôkin rubel xcuanquil li Dios.
20I have been crucified with Christ, and it is no longer I that live, but Christ living in me. That life which I now live in the flesh, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself up for me.
20Li Jesucristo quicam chiru li cruz ut chanchan nak quinq'uehe' ajcui' lâin cuochben. Mâcua' chic lâin li yo'yôquin. A' chic li Cristo cuan cuiq'uin. Ut ac' chic lin yu'am xban nak xinpâb li Jesucristo li Ralal li Dios li quirahoc cue ut quixk'axtesi rib chi câmc sa' inc'aba'.Jo'can nak inc'a' nintz'ektâna xcuanquil li rusilal li Dios. Cui ta sa' xc'aba' li chak'rab natîcobresîc kach'ôl, mâc'a' raj rajbal nak quicam li Cristo.
21I don’t make void the grace of God. For if righteousness is through the law, then Christ died for nothing!”
21Jo'can nak inc'a' nintz'ektâna xcuanquil li rusilal li Dios. Cui ta sa' xc'aba' li chak'rab natîcobresîc kach'ôl, mâc'a' raj rajbal nak quicam li Cristo.
