¹Then Job answered,

²“No doubt, but you are the people, and wisdom shall die with you.

³But I have understanding as well as you; I am not inferior to you. Yes, who doesn’t know such things as these?

³Abanan lâin cuan ajcuiß innaßleb. ¿Ma cubenak ta biß incuanquil lâin chêru lâex? ¿Ma cuan ta biß junak incßaß nanaßoc re li cßaßru yôquex chixyebal?

⁴I am like one who is a joke to his neighbor, I, who called on God, and he answered. The just, the blameless man is a joke.

⁴Junxil nak nintijoc chiru li Dios, aßan narabi lin tij. Usta lâin tîc inchßôl ut mâcßaß inmâc, eb li cuamîg niquineßxseße.

⁵In the thought of him who is at ease there is contempt for misfortune. It is ready for them whose foot slips.

⁶The tents of robbers prosper. Those who provoke God are secure, who carry their God in their hands.

⁶Eb laj êlkß junelic saheb saß xchßôl saß li rochocheb. Ut eb li nequeßxtzßektâna li Dios, mâcßaß nequeßxcßul. Ut nequeßxcßoxla nak chixjunil cuan saß rukßeb.

⁷“But ask the animals, now, and they shall teach you; the birds of the sky, and they shall tell you.

⁷Tzol âcuib riqßuineb li xul li cuanqueb saß qßuicheß. Ut qßueheb retal li xul li nequeßrupupic.

⁸Or speak to the earth, and it shall teach you. The fish of the sea shall declare to you.

⁸Ut qßue ajcuiß retal li cßaßak re ru li cuan saß ruchichßochß ut eb li car li cuanqueb saß li palau. Naru nacaqßueheb retal aßan ut naru nacatzol âcuib riqßuineb.

⁹Who doesn’t know that in all these, the hand of Yahweh has done this,

⁹¿Ma toj cuanqueb ta biß li incßaß nequeßxnau nak li Dios quiyîban re chixjunil aßin?

¹⁰in whose hand is the life of every living thing, and the breath of all mankind?

¹⁰Li Dios naqßuehoc re xyußameb chixjunileb li yoßyôqueb ut saß rukß aßan cuanqueb.

¹¹Doesn’t the ear try words, even as the palate tastes its food?

¹²With aged men is wisdom, in length of days understanding.

¹³“With God is wisdom and might. He has counsel and understanding.

¹⁴Behold, he breaks down, and it can’t be built again. He imprisons a man, and there can be no release.

¹⁴Li cßaßru naxpoß ru li Dios, mâ ani chic naru nayîban re. Cui li Dios naraj tixbânu raylal re junak cristian, tixbânu. Mâ ani naru tâcolok re chiru.

¹⁵Behold, he withholds the waters, and they dry up. Again, he sends them out, and they overturn the earth.

¹⁵Cui aßan târaj nak incßaß tixqßue li hab, incßaß ajcuiß tixqßue. Chakihak chixjunil. Ut cui aßan târaj nak tâbutßînk li ruchichßochß, tâbutßînk ajcuiß.

¹⁶With him is strength and wisdom. The deceived and the deceiver are his.

¹⁶Kßaxal numtajenak lix cuanquil li Dios ut aßan yal re saß xbên chixjunil. Saß rukß aßan cuanqueb li nequeßbalakßîc joß eb ajcuiß li nequeßbalakßin.

¹⁷He leads counselors away stripped. He makes judges fools.

¹⁷Li Dios na-isin re lix naßlebeb li nequeßqßuehoc naßleb. Ut naxpoß xnaßlebeb laj rakol âtin.

¹⁸He loosens the bond of kings. He binds their waist with a belt.

¹⁸Narisiheb saß xcuanquileb li rey ut aßan ajcuiß nabânun re nak teßcßamekß chi prêxil chi mâcßaß cuan reheb.

¹⁹He leads priests away stripped, and overthrows the mighty.

¹⁹Li Dios naxcubsi xcuanquileb laj tij joßqueb ajcuiß li cuanqueb saß xcuanquil.

²⁰He removes the speech of those who are trusted, and takes away the understanding of the elders.

²⁰Ut naxsach xnaßlebeb li nequeßqßuehoc naßleb. Joßcaneb ajcuiß li ac tîxeb. Incßaß chic jultic reheb.

²¹He pours contempt on princes, and loosens the belt of the strong.

²¹Li Dios naxbânu nak incßaß chic teßqßuehekß xlokßal li cuanqueb saß xcuanquil. Ut eb li cauheb rib mâcßaßak chic xmetzßêuheb.

²²He uncovers deep things out of darkness, and brings out to light the shadow of death.

²²Aßan naxqßue chi naßecß li cßaßru incßaß nanauman. Li cßaßru cuan chi mukmu aßan naxqßue chi cutanquil.

²³He increases the nations, and he destroys them. He enlarges the nations, and he leads them captive.

²³Jokße naraj, naxqßue xcuanquil junak tenamit. Ut nak naraj, naxsach ru. Naxchaßchaßi ruheb, ut naxchßutubeb cuißchic ruheb.

²⁴He takes away understanding from the chiefs of the people of the earth, and causes them to wander in a wilderness where there is no way.

²⁴Nak naraj, naxsach xnaßlebeb li nequeßcßamoc be saß junak tenamit. Ut naxqßueheb chi sachc. Chanchan nak yôqueb chixbeninquil ribeb yalak bar saß li chaki chßochß xban nak incßaß chic nequeßxtau cßaßru teßxbânu.Chanchan nak yôqueb chi bêc saß kßojyîn chi incßaß nequeßxnau bar yôqueb chi xic. Nequeßtacloc chanchaneb li calajenak.

²⁵They grope in the dark without light. He makes them stagger like a drunken man.
