²⁴Tuomet Jėzus savo mokiniams pasakė: “Jei kas nori eiti paskui mane, teišsižada pats savęs, teima savo kryžių ir teseka manimi.

²⁵ For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, and whoever will lose his life for my sake will find it.

²⁵Nes, kas nori išgelbėti savo gyvybę, tas ją praras; o kas praras savo gyvybę dėl manęs, tas ją atras.

²⁶ For what will it profit a man, if he gains the whole world, and forfeits his life? Or what will a man give in exchange for his life?

²⁶Kokia gi žmogui nauda, jeigu jis laimėtų visą pasaulį, o pakenktų savo sielai? Arba kuo žmogus galėtų išsipirkti savo sielą?

²⁷ For the Son of Man will come in the glory of his Father with his angels, and then he will render to everyone according to his deeds.

²⁷Nes Žmogaus Sūnus ateis savo Tėvo šlovėje su savo angelais, ir tuomet Jis atlygins kiekvienam pagal jo darbus.

²⁸Iš tiesų sakau jums: kai kurie iš čia stovinčių neragaus mirties, kol pamatys Žmogaus Sūnų, ateinantį savo karalystėje”.
