1But say the things which fit sound doctrine,
1Kalbėk, kas sutinka su sveiku mokymu:
2that older men should be temperate, sensible, sober minded, sound in faith, in love, and in patience:
2kad pagyvenę vyrai būtų blaivūs, rimti, santūrūs, sveiki tikėjimu, meile, kantrybe.
3and that older women likewise be reverent in behavior, not slanderers nor enslaved to much wine, teachers of that which is good;
3Taip pat, kad pagyvenusios moterys elgtųsi garbingai, nebūtų apkalbinėtojos, besaikės vyno gėrėjos, mokytų gero,
4that they may train the young women to love their husbands, to love their children,
4skatintų jaunąsias mylėti savo vyrus ir vaikus,
5to be sober minded, chaste, workers at home, kind, being in subjection to their own husbands, that God’s word may not be blasphemed.
5būti santūrias, tyras, rūpestingas šeimininkes, geras, klusnias savo vyrams,kad nebūtų šmeižiamas Dievo žodis.
6Likewise, exhort the younger men to be sober minded;
6Taip pat jaunuosius ragink, kad būtų santūrūs.
7in all things showing yourself an example of good works; in your teaching showing integrity, seriousness, incorruptibility,
7Pats visais atžvilgiais rodyk gerų darbų pavyzdį: mokymo grynumą, garbingumą, nepažeidžiamumą,
8and soundness of speech that can’t be condemned; that he who opposes you may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say about us.
8sveiką ir nepriekaištingą kalbą, kad priešininkas liktų sugėdintas, neturėdamas apie tave pasakyti nieko blogo.
9Exhort servants to be in subjection to their own masters, and to be well-pleasing in all things; not contradicting;
9Ragink, kad vergai būtų klusnūs savo šeimininkams, stengtųsi visame kame jiems įtikti ir neprieštarautų,
10not stealing, but showing all good fidelity; that they may adorn the doctrine of God, our Savior, in all things.
10kad nevogtų, bet rodytų visokeriopą gerą ištikimybę, kad visu kuo puoštų Dievo, mūsų Gelbėtojo, mokymą.
11For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all men,
11Nes gelbstinti Dievo malonė pasirodė visiems žmonėms
12instructing us to the intent that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we would live soberly, righteously, and godly in this present world;
12ir moko mus, kad, atsisakę bedievystės ir pasaulio geidulių, santūriai, teisiai ir pamaldžiai gyventume šiame amžiuje,
13looking for the blessed hope and appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ;
13laukdami palaimintosios vilties ir mūsų didžiojo Dievo bei Gelbėtojo Jėzaus Kristaus šlovės pasirodymo.
14who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify for himself a people for his own possession, zealous for good works.
14Jis atidavė save už mus, kad išpirktų mus iš visų nedorybių ir nuskaistintų sau ypatingą tautą, uolią geriems darbams.
15Say these things and exhort and reprove with all authority. Let no man despise you.
15Taip kalbėk, ragink, drausk su visa valdžia. Niekas tenedrįsta tavęs niekinti!
