1Remind them to be in subjection to rulers and to authorities, to be obedient, to be ready for every good work,

5Jis išgelbėjo mus ne dėl mūsų atliktų teisumo darbų, bet iš savo gailestingumo, Šventosios Dvasios atgimdančiu ir atnaujinančiu nuplovimu.
6whom he poured out on us richly, through Jesus Christ our Savior;
6Jis mums dosniai išliejo tos Dvasios per mūsų Gelbėtoją Jėzų Kristų,
7that, being justified by his grace, we might be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.
7kad, išteisinti Jo malone, viltimi taptume amžinojo gyvenimo paveldėtojais.
8This saying is faithful, and concerning these things I desire that you affirm confidently, so that those who have believed God may be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable to men;
8Tai patikimas žodis. Ir aš noriu, kad tu nuolatos pabrėžtum šiuos dalykus, kad patikėjusieji Dievu rūpintųsi paremti gerus darbus. Tai gera ir naudinga žmonėms.
9but shun foolish questionings, genealogies, strife, and disputes about the law; for they are unprofitable and vain.
9Venk kvailų ginčų, kilmės sąrašų, nesutarimų ir vaidų dėl įstatymo,visa tai nenaudinga ir tuščia.
10Avoid a factious man after a first and second warning;
10Atskalūno, vieną kitą kartą įspėjęs, šalinkis,
11knowing that such a one is perverted, and sins, being self-condemned.
11žinodamas, jog jis iškrypęs ir nuodėmiauja, savo paties nuosprendžiu pasmerktas.

14Tesimoko ir mūsiškiai remti gerus darbus būtiniems reikalams patenkinti, kad neliktų bevaisiai.
