¹Then what advantage does the Jew have? Or what is the profit of circumcision?

¹ਇਸਲਈ ਕੀ ਯਹੂਦੀਆਂ ਕੋਲ ਹੋਰਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਕੁਝ ਵਧੇਰੇ ਹੈ! ਕੀ ਸੁੰਨਤ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਮਹੱਤਵ ਹੈ?

²Much in every way! Because first of all, they were entrusted with the oracles of God.

²ਹਾਂ। ਯਹੂਦੀਆਂ ਕੋਲ ਹਰ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਖਾਸ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਹਨ। ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ; ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਯਹੂਦੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੌਂਪੇ ਗਏ ਹਨ।

³For what if some were without faith? Will their lack of faith nullify the faithfulness of God?

³ਇਹ ਸੱਚ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਕੁਝ ਯਹੂਦੀ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨਾਲ ਵਫ਼ਾਦਾਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਹਨ। ਪਰ ਕੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਅਨਾਸਥਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਤੋਂ ਉਸਦਾ ਵਚਨ ਤੁਡ਼ਵਾ ਸਕਦੀ ਹੈ?

⁴May it never be! Yes, let God be found true, but every man a liar. As it is written, “That you might be justified in your words, and might prevail when you come into judgment.” Psalm 51:4

⁴ਨਹੀਂ। ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾ ਸੱਚਾ ਰਹੇਗਾ ਭਾਵੇਂ ਸਾਰੇ ਝੂਠੇ ਹਨ। ਜਿਵੇਂ ਕਿ ਪੋਥੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਿਹਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ: “ਤੁਸੀਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਬੋਲਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਧਰਮੀ ਸਾਬਿਤ ਕੀਤੇ ਜਾਵੋਂਗੇ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਜਿੱਤੋਂਗੇ।”ਜ਼ਬੂਰ 51:4

⁵But if our unrighteousness commends the righteousness of God, what will we say? Is God unrighteous who inflicts wrath? I speak like men do.

⁵ਪਰ ਜੇਕਰ ਸਾਡੀ ਦੁਸ਼ਟਤਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੀ ਚੰਗਿਆਈ ਨੂੰ ਵਧੇਰੇ ਸਪਸ਼ਟ ਤੌਰ ਤੇ ਵਿਖਾਉਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਤਾਂ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਕੀ ਆਖਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ? ਤਾਂ ਕੀ ਅਸੀਂ ਆਖ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਜਦੋਂ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਸਜ਼ਾ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਨਿਆਂਹੀਣ ਹੈ? ਲੋਕ ਇੰਝ ਆਖ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਨ।

⁶May it never be! For then how will God judge the world?

⁶ਨਹੀਂ। ਜੇਕਰ ਉਹ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਦੰਡ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਨਿਰਣਾ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਕਰੇਗਾ?

⁷For if the truth of God through my lie abounded to his glory, why am I also still judged as a sinner?

⁷ਕੋਈ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਆਖ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ, “ਜਦੋਂ ਮੈਂ ਝੂਠ ਬੋਲਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੂੰ ਮਹਿਮਾ ਮਿਲਦੀ ਹੈ, ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਮੇਰਾ ਝੂਠ ਉਸਦੇ ਸੱਚ ਨੂੰ ਚਾਨਣੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਿਆਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਤਾਂ ਫ਼ਿਰ ਮੈਂ ਪਾਪੀ ਕਿਉਂ ਕਹਾਉਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ?”

⁸Why not (as we are slanderously reported, and as some affirm that we say), “Let us do evil, that good may come?” Those who say so are justly condemned.

⁸ਇਹ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਆਖਣਾ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ, “ਅਸੀਂ ਦੁਸ਼ਟਤਾ ਕਰੀਏ, ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਚੰਗਿਆਈਆਵੇ।” ਕੁਝ ਲੋਕ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਆਖਕੇ ਨਿੰਦਦੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਅਸੀਂ ਅਜਿਹੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹਾਂ। ਜੋ ਉਹ ਸਾਡੇ ਬਾਰੇ ਆਖ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ ਝੂਠ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਪਰੇਮਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੀ ਸਜ਼ਾ ਦੇ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ।

⁹What then? Are we better than they? No, in no way. For we previously warned both Jews and Greeks, that they are all under sin.

⁹ਤਾਂ ਫ਼ੇਰ ਕੀ? ਕੀ ਅਸੀਂ ਯਹੂਦੀ ਦੂਜਿਆਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਚੰਗੇ ਹਾਂ? ਨਹੀਂ? ਅਸੀਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਹੀ ਆਖਿਆ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਯਹੂਦੀ ਅਤੇ ਗੈਰ-ਯਹੂਦੀ ਇੱਕੋ ਹੀ ਹਨ। ਸਾਰੇ ਹੀ ਪਾਪ ਦੇ ਅਧੀਨ ਹਨ।

¹⁰As it is written, “There is no one righteous; no, not one.

¹⁰ਜਿਵੇਂ ਕਿ ਪੋਥੀਆਂ ਕਹਿੰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ: “ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਾਪ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ। ਇੱਕ ਵੀ ਨਹੀਂ।

¹¹There is no one who understands. There is no one who seeks after God.

¹¹ਇਥੇ ਕੋਈ ਨਹੀਂ ਜੋ ਸਮਝਦਾ ਹੈ। ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਜੋ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੂੰ ਖੋਜਦਾ ਹੈ।

¹²They have all turned aside. They have together become unprofitable. There is no one who does good, no, not, so much as one.” Psalms 14:1-3; 53:1-3; Ecclesiastes 7:20

¹²ਸਭ ਲੋਕ ਭਟਕ ਗਏ ਹਨ, ਸਾਰੇ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਨਿਕੰਮੇ ਹੋ ਗਏ ਹਨ। ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਨੇਕ ਨਹੀਂ, ਇੱਕ ਵੀ ਨਹੀਂ।” ਜ਼ਬੂਰ 14 : 1-3

¹³“Their throat is an open tomb. With their tongues they have used deceit.” Psalm 5:9 “The poison of vipers is under their lips”; Psalm 140:3

¹⁴“whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness.” Psalm 10:7

¹⁴“ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਮੂੰਹ ਫ਼ਿਟਕਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਕੁਡ਼ਤ੍ਤਣ ਨਾਲ ਭਰੇ ਹਨ।” ਜ਼ਬੂਰ 10 : 7

¹⁵“ਉਹ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾ ਮਾਰਨ ਲਈ ਤਿਆਰ ਹਨ;

¹⁶ਜਿਥੇ ਵੀ ਉਹ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਤਬਾਹੀ ਤੇ ਉਦਾਸੀ ਵਰਤਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ।

¹⁷The way of peace, they haven’t known.” Isaiah 59:7-8

¹⁷ਲੋਕ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਦਾ ਮਾਰਗ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਦੇ।” ਯਸਾਯਾਹ 59:7-8

¹⁸“There is no fear of God before their eyes.” Psalm 36:1

¹⁸“ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਅਖਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦਾ ਡਰ ਭੈ ਨਹੀਂ।” ਜ਼ਬੂਰ 36:1

¹⁹Now we know that whatever things the law says, it speaks to those who are under the law, that every mouth may be closed, and all the world may be brought under the judgment of God.

¹⁹ਹੁਣ ਅਸੀਂ ਜਾਣਦੇ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਜੋ ਸ਼ਰ੍ਹਾ ਆਖਦੀ ਹੈ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲਈ ਹਨ ਜੋ ਸ਼ਰ੍ਹਾ ਦੇ ਅਧੀਨ ਹਨ। ਅਤੇ ਇਹ, ਉਹ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਆਖਦੀ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਹਰ ਇੱਕ ਦਾ ਮੂੰਹ ਬੰਦ ਹੋ ਸਕੇ ਅਤੇ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਨਿਆਂ ਹੇਠ ਆ ਜਾਵੇ।

²⁰Because by the works of the law, no flesh will be justified in his sight. For through the law comes the knowledge of sin.

²⁰ਸ਼ਰ੍ਹਾ ਦੀ ਲੋਡ਼ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਅੱਗੇ ਧਰਮੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ। ਸ਼ਰ੍ਹਾ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਸਾਡੇ ਪਾਪਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦਰਸ਼ਾ ਸਕਦੀ ਹੈ।

²¹But now apart from the law, a righteousness of God has been revealed, being testified by the law and the prophets;

²¹ਪਰ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਕੋਲ ਬਿਨਾ ਸ਼ਰ੍ਹਾ ਦੇ ਵੀ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਧਰਮੀ ਬਨਾਉਣ ਦਾ ਢੰਗ ਹੈ। ਅਤੇ ਹੁਣ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਉਹ ਨਵਾਂ ਮਾਰਗ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਵਿਖਾਇਆ ਹੈ। ਸ਼ਰ੍ਹਾ ਅਤੇ ਨਬੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਨਵੇਂ ਰਾਹ ਬਾਰੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਵੀ ਹੈ।

²²even the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ to all and on all those who believe. For there is no distinction,

²²ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਯਿਸੂ ਮਸੀਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਧਰਮੀ ਬਣਾਵੇਗਾ। ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਭ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਲਈ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਯਿਸੂ ਮਸੀਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਿਹਚਾ ਰਖਦੇ ਹਨ। ਸਭ ਲੋਕ ਬਰਾਬਰ ਹਨ।

²³for all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God;

²³ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਹਰੇਕ ਨੇ ਪਾਪ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਸਭ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੀ ਮਹਿਮਾ ਲਈ ਕਾਫ਼ੀ ਚੰਗੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਹਨ।

²⁴being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus;

²⁴ਸੋ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਨਾਲ ਉਸ ਨਿਸਤਰੇ ਕਾਰਣ ਜੋ ਮਸੀਹ ਯਿਸੂ ਤੋਂ ਹੈ ਲੋਕ ਮੁਖਤ ਧਰਮੀ ਬਣਾਏ ਗਏ ਹਨ।

²⁵whom God set forth to be an atoning sacrifice or, a propitiation , through faith in his blood, for a demonstration of his righteousness through the passing over of prior sins, in God’s forbearance;

²⁵ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੂੰ ਸੇਵਾ ਮਾਰਗ ਦੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਲਹੂ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਾਪ ਨੂੰ ਮੁਆਫ਼ੀ ਦਿੱਤੀ। ਉਸਨੇ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਇਹ ਵਿਖਾਉਣ ਲਾਈ ਕੀਤਾ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾ ਉਹੀ ਕਾਰਜ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਨਿਆਂਈ ਹੈ। ਅਤੀਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨਿਆਂਈ ਸੀ। ਉਦੋਂ ਉਹ ਦਿਯਾਲੂ ਸੀ, ਅਤੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਾਪਾਂ ਲਈ ਸਜ਼ਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਗਈ।

²⁶to demonstrate his righteousness at this present time; that he might himself be just, and the justifier of him who has faith in Jesus.

²⁶ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੂੰ ਵਰਤਮਾਨ ਕਾਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਹ ਵਿਖਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਭੇਂਟ ਕੀਤਾ, ਕਿ ਉਹ ਧਰਮੀ ਹੈ। ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਧਰਮੀ ਮੁਨਸਫ਼ ਵਾਂਗ ਦਰਸ਼ਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਵਾਂਗ ਵੀ ਜੋ ਯਿਸੂ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਿਹਚਾ ਰੱਖਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ, ਧਰਮੀ ਬਣਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

²⁷Where then is the boasting? It is excluded. By what kind of law? Of works? No, but by a law of faith.

²⁷ਤਾਂ ਕੀ ਸਾਡੇ ਕੋਲ ਆਪਣੇ-ਆਪ ਬਾਰੇ ਸ਼ੇਖੀ ਮਾਰਨ ਦੀ ਕੋਈ ਵਜਹ ਹੈ? ਨਹੀਂ। ਇਹ ਕੀ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਸ੍ਵੈ-ਪ੍ਰਸੰਸਾ ਨੂੰ ਰੋਕਦਾ ਹੈ? ਇਹ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਦਾ ਰਸਤਾ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਰੋਕਦਾ ਹੈ ਨਾ ਕਿ ਸ਼ਰ੍ਹਾ ਦਾ ਪਿਛਾ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਰਸਤਾ?

²⁸We maintain therefore that a man is justified by faith apart from the works of the law.

²⁸ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਅਸੀਂ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਨਿਹਚੇ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਧਰਮੀ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਨਾ ਕਿ ਸ਼ਰ੍ਹਾ ਨੂੰ ਮੰਨਣ ਨਾਲ ਜੋ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਉਹ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।

²⁹Or is God the God of Jews only? Isn’t he the God of Gentiles also? Yes, of Gentiles also,

²⁹ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਕੇਵਲ ਯਹੂਦੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਹੀ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨਹੀਂ, ਉਹ ਗੈਰ-ਯਹੂਦੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਵੀ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਹੈ। ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਇੱਕ ਹੈ।

³⁰since indeed there is one God who will justify the circumcised by faith, and the uncircumcised through faith.

³⁰ਉਹ ਯਹੂਦੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਆਸਥਾ ਰਹੀਂ ਧਰਮੀ ਬਣਾਵੇਗਾ। ਉਹ ਗੈਰ-ਯਹੂਦੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਆਸਥਾ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਧਰਮੀ ਬਣਾਵੇਗਾ।

³¹Do we then nullify the law through faith? May it never be! No, we establish the law.

³¹ਕੀ ਅਸੀਂ ਨਿਹਚਾ ਦੇ ਮਾਰਗ ਨੂੰ ਮੰਨਕੇ ਸ਼ਰ੍ਹਾ ਨੂੰ ਨਸ਼ਟ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਾਂ? ਨਹੀਂ। ਆਸਥਾ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਉਵੇਂ ਹੀ ਬਣਾਉਂਦੀ ਹੈ। ਜਿਸ ਢੰਗ ਨਾਲ ਸ਼ਰ੍ਹਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਅਸੀਂ ਹੋਈਏ।
