2 Chronicles

10

1Rehoboam went to Shechem; for all Israel had come to Shechem to make him king.
1Huan, Rehoboam bel Sekem khua ah a hoh a; Israel te tengteng Sekem khua ah kumpipa dia bawl dingin ahoh khintangal ua.
2It happened, when Jeroboam the son of Nebat heard of it, (for he was in Egypt, where he had fled from the presence of king Solomon), that Jeroboam returned out of Egypt.
2huan, hichi ahi a, Nebat tapa Jeroboam in huaithu ana zak in (kumpipa Solomon kiang akipan a taimang na Aigupta gama omlai ahingal a) Aigupta gam akipan Jeroboam ahong pai nawn a
3They sent and called him; and Jeroboam and all Israel came, and they spoke to Rehoboam, saying,
3Mi asawl ua, avasam ua; huchiin Jeroboam leh Israelte tengteng ahong pai ua. Rehoboam kiangah,
4“Your father made our yoke grievous: now therefore make you the grievous service of your father, and his heavy yoke which he put on us, lighter, and we will serve you.”
4Na pan ka hakkol uh agik sak mahmah seka; huaijiakin napan honzat gim na leh a hakkol giktak ka tung ua a koih hon suk jang sak inla, huchiin na naa ka sem diing uh, chiin a gen ua.
5He said to them, “Come again to me after three days.” The people departed.
5Huan, aman akiang uah Nithum khit chiang in hong pai non jaw un, a chi a. Huchiin mipite kihem khia uhi.
6King Rehoboam took counsel with the old men, who had stood before Solomon his father while he yet lived, saying, “What counsel do you give me to return answer to this people?”
6Huan, kumpipa Rehoboam in, Hiai mipite dawnna diing thupha bang ahia non hilh diing uh? chiin, apa Solomon damlai a akianga omsek upate a dong a.
7They spoke to him, saying, “If you are kind to this people, and please them, and speak good words to them, then they will be your servants forever.”
7Huan, amau akiangah, Hiai mipite na hehpiha na kipahsaka, a kiang ua thu hoih tata nagen leh khantawnin na mite ahi diing uh, chiin agen uhi.
8But he forsook the counsel of the old men which they had given him, and took counsel with the young men who had grown up with him, who stood before him.
8Himahleh, hoihsakpih apom kei a, amah khanvualpih tangvalte akiang a omsekte a dong zosop hi.
9He said to them, “What counsel do you give, that we may return answer to this people, who have spoken to me, saying, ‘Make the yoke that your father put on us lighter?’”
9Akiang uah, Hiai mipite ka kiang a, Napan ka tung ua hakkol akoih hon hih zangsak in chia gen mite ka dawn dan diing hoih bang ahia non hilh diing uh? a chi a
10The young men who had grown up with him spoke to him, saying, “Thus you shall tell the people who spoke to you, saying, ‘Your father made our yoke heavy, but make it lighter on us;’ thus you shall say to them, ‘My little finger is thicker than my father’s waist.
10Huan, a khanvualpih tangvalten a kiangah hiai mipite napan a hakkol uh ahih gik thei mahmah a, nang jaw hon hih zangsak jaw in na kiangah chimite kiangah hichiin chi inla, hichiin akiang uah gen in, kapa kawng sang in akhut zung a gol jaw
11Now whereas my father burdened you with a heavy yoke, I will add to your yoke. My father chastised you with whips, but I will chastise you with scorpions.’”
11Kapan hakkol diktak a honna posak a ken ahihleh na hakkol uh behlap lai sin kaka: kapan khetna in nou ahon sawi jel a, ken ahihleh aikam a hon sawi sin kaka chiin agen ua.
12So Jeroboam and all the people came to Rehoboam the third day, as the king asked, saying, “Come to me again the third day.”
12Huchiin Jeroboam leh mipite tengteng kumpipan nithum khit chiang in hong non un, chia ahilh bang in anithum ni in Rehoboam kiangah ava hoh ua
13The king answered them roughly; and king Rehoboam forsook the counsel of the old men,
13Kumpipan amau gum takin a dawng a, kumpipa Rehoboamin upate phatsak apom kei a;
14and spoke to them after the counsel of the young men, saying, “My father made your yoke heavy, but I will add to it. My father chastised you with whips, but I will chastise you with scorpions.”
14Tangvalte phatsak pih bangin, kapan na hakkol uh anahihgik a, ken huai behlap diing kahi; kapan khetnain nou a honna sawi a, ken jaw aikama nou hon sawi ding kahi, a chi a.
15So the king didn’t listen to the people; for it was brought about of God, that Yahweh might establish his word, which he spoke by Ahijah the Shilonite to Jeroboam the son of Nebat.
15Huchiin kumpipan mite thugen a apom ta kei a huai bel Pathian jiak ahi, TOUPAN Silo mi Ahija zang a, Nibat tapa Jeroboam kiangah a tnhu gen sa akipsak theih na diing in
16When all Israel saw that the king didn’t listen to them, the people answered the king, saying, “What portion have we in David? Neither have we inheritance in the son of Jesse! Every man to your tents, Israel! Now see to your own house, David.” So all Israel departed to their tents.
16Huan, kumpipan athu uh a pom kei uh chih Israelte tengteng in atheih un mipiten, David ah tantuan bang ahia I neih uh? Jesai tapa ah gouluah ding inei sam kei uh: Israel mite aw, na puan in lam chiat uah pai un: David, nainnkuansung ngaihtuah mai in, chiin kumpipa a dong uhi. huchiin Israelte tengteng apuan in lam uah apai ta uh
17But as for the children of Israel who lived in the cities of Judah, Rehoboam reigned over them.
17Israel suan, Juda gam khua a omte bel atung uah Rehoboam alal a
18Then king Rehoboam sent Hadoram, who was over the men subject to forced labor; and the children of Israel stoned him to death with stones. King Rehoboam made speed to get himself up to his chariot, to flee to Jerusalem.
18Huchiin kumpipa Rehoboamin nasem dia achih teitei te heutu Hadoram asawl a; amah huai Israelte tengteng suang in ana deng ua, asita hi. huan kumpipa Rehoboam Jerusalem khua a tai tum in a kangtalai ah atuang pah a.Huchiin Israelte David inkote tungah ahong hel ta ua, tutan in.
19So Israel rebelled against the house of David to this day.
19Huchiin Israelte David inkote tungah ahong hel ta ua, tutan in.
