10

1It happened after this, that the king of the children of Ammon died, and Hanun his son reigned in his place.
1Huan, hichi ahi a, huai nung in Amon suante kumpipa a si a, a tapa Hanun in a mun ah vai a hawm hi.
2David said, “I will show kindness to Hanun the son of Nahash, as his father showed kindness to me.” So David sent by his servants to comfort him concerning his father. David’s servants came into the land of the children of Ammon.
2Huan, David in, A pan a honna hehpih bang in ken leng Nahas tapa Hanun ka hehpih sam ding, a chi a. Huchi in David in a pa tungtang thu a lungmuan ding in amah mite a sawl a. Huan, David mite Amon suante gam a va tung uh.
3But the princes of the children of Ammon said to Hanun their lord, “Do you think that David honors your father, in that he has sent comforters to you? Hasn’t David sent his servants to you to search the city, and to spy it out, and to overthrow it?”
3Himahleh Amon suante makaite'n a pu uh Hanun kiang ah, David in na pa a zah ziak a na kiang a lungmuanmi hon sawl hi in na um ahia? David in a mite khuate hong hihse ding a entel ding leh enkhe ding a na kiang a honsawl ahi ka hia? a chi ua.
4So Hanun took David’s servants, and shaved off the one half of their beards, and cut off their garments in the middle, even to their buttocks, and sent them away.
4Huchi in, Hanun in David mite a man a, a khamul langkhat uh a metsak a, huan, a puansilhte uh a laitak ah a taw uh phazou lel in a tansak a, a paisakta hi.
5When they told it to David, he sent to meet them; for the men were greatly ashamed. The king said, “Wait at Jericho until your beards have grown, and then return.”
5Huan, David a hilh ua, a dawn ding mi a sawl a; amau lah a zum mahmah ngal ua. Huan, kumpipa'n, Na khamul uh a sel sau ma in Jeriko ah om tadih unla, huai nung chiang in hong pai le uchin, a chi a.
6When the children of Ammon saw that they were become odious to David, the children of Ammon sent and hired the Syrians of Beth Rehob, and the Syrians of Zobah, twenty thousand footmen, and the king of Maacah with one thousand men, and the men of Tob twelve thousand men.
6Huan, Amon suante'n David huatlam a na hihta uh chih a theih un Amon suante'n Beth-rehob a mi Suriate leh Zoba a mi Suriate, sepaih singnih leh, kumpipa Maak a mi sangkhat toh, Tob mite singkhat leh sangnih toh a thukhak a, a guai hi.
7When David heard of it, he sent Joab, and all the army of the mighty men.

8The children of Ammon came out, and put the battle in array at the entrance of the gate: and the Syrians of Zobah and of Rehob, and the men of Tob and Maacah, were by themselves in the field.
8Huan, Amon suante a hong kuan ua, kho lutna kongkhak lam ah panmun a bawl ua; huan, Zoba a mi leh Rehob a mi Suriate leh Tob leh Maakte bel a tuam in pawn ah a om uh.
9Now when Joab saw that the battle was set against him before and behind, he chose of all the choice men of Israel, and put them in array against the Syrians:

10The rest of the people he committed into the hand of Abishai his brother; and he put them in array against the children of Ammon.
10Huan, mi dang tengteng a unaupa Abisai khut ah a koih vek a, Amon suante sual ding in panmun a bawl hi.
11He said, “If the Syrians are too strong for me, then you shall help me; but if the children of Ammon are too strong for you, then I will come and help you.
11Suria mite ka zoh sinkei leh, nang non huh ding, huan, Amon suante na zoh sinkei leh ka hong huh ding.
12Be courageous, and let us be strong for our people, and for the cities of our God; and Yahweh do that which seems good to him.”
12Hang tak in om unla, I mite leh I Pathian khua hum in I ki pasalsak ding uh; huan, TOUPA'N hoih a sak bangbang in hih hen, a chi a.
13So Joab and the people who were with him drew near to the battle against the Syrians: and they fled before him.

14When the children of Ammon saw that the Syrians had fled, they likewise fled before Abishai, and entered into the city. Then Joab returned from the children of Ammon, and came to Jerusalem.

18The Syrians fled before Israel; and David killed of the Syrians seven hundred charioteers, and forty thousand horsemen, and struck Shobach the captain of their army, so that he died there.
18Huan, Suria mite'n David dou ding in panmun a na bawl ua, a na sual ua.
