Joshua

14

1These are the inheritances which the children of Israel took in the land of Canaan, which Eleazar the priest, Joshua the son of Nun, and the heads of the fathers’ houses of the tribes of the children of Israel, distributed to them,
1Hiaite ahi Israel suanten Kanan gama a lak uh, simpu Eleazar te, Nun tapa Josua te, Israel suante nam inkuan intekpenten a gouluah ding ua a nahawm uh,
2by the lot of their inheritance, as Yahweh commanded by Moses, for the nine tribes, and for the half-tribe.
2Nam kuate leh nam kimkhatte tuam dinga TOUPAN Mosi zanga thu a napiak bangin.
3For Moses had given the inheritance of the two tribes and the half-tribe beyond the Jordan; but to the Levites he gave no inheritance among them.
3Mosiin nam nih leh nam kimkhatte Jordan galah a gouluah ding uh a napeta ngala; Levi chite bel a lak uah gouluah ding a pe tei kei hi.
4For the children of Joseph were two tribes, Manasseh and Ephraim: and they gave no portion to the Levites in the land, except cities to dwell in, with their suburbs for their livestock and for their property.
4Joseph suante nam nih ahi ua, Manassi leh Ephraim: Levi chite huai gamah tantuam a pe kei uh, a omna ding uh khopite leh a daikim gan tatna ding mun leh a in u leh a lou uh bawlna ding loungal.
5The children of Israel did as Yahweh commanded Moses, and they divided the land.
5TOUPAN Mosi thu a piak bangin Israel suanten a hih ua, gam a hawm uh.
6Then the children of Judah drew near to Joshua in Gilgal. Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite said to him, “You know the thing that Yahweh spoke to Moses the man of God concerning me and concerning you in Kadesh Barnea.
6Huchiin Juda suante Gilgal khua ah Josua kiangah a vahoh ua: Keiniz mi Jephuni tapa Kalebin a kiangah, Kadesbarnea muna Pathian mi Mosi kianga TOUPAN ka tungtang leh na tungtang thua a thugen na thei hi.
7I was forty years old when Moses the servant of Yahweh sent me from Kadesh Barnea to spy out the land. I brought him word again as it was in my heart.
7TOUPA sikha Mosiin Kades-barnea mun akipana gamvaenkhe dinga a honsawl lain kum sawmlia upa ka nahitaa; huan, ka lungsima om bang tak a kiangah ka tun nawna.
8Nevertheless, my brothers who went up with me made the heart of the people melt; but I wholly followed Yahweh my God.
8Ahihhangin ka unau ka kianga pai teiten mipite lungtang a tuisuaksak ua; ken bel TOUPA ka Pathian ka pom kip a.
9Moses swore on that day, saying, ‘Surely the land where you walked shall be an inheritance to you and to your children forever, because you have wholly followed Yahweh my God.’
9Huchiin Mosiin huai niin, TOUPA ka Pathian na pom kip jiakin na khein a nasiksa gam khantawnin nang leh na suante gouluah ding ahi ngeingei ding, chiin a kichiama.
10“Now, behold, Yahweh has kept me alive, as he spoke, these forty-five years, from the time that Yahweh spoke this word to Moses, while Israel walked in the wilderness. Now, behold, I am eighty-five years old, today.
10Huchiin ngaiin, TOUPAN Mosi kianga huai thute a gen nung Israelte gamdaia a vakvak sung un TOUPAN a gensa bangin kum sawmli leh Kum nga tak a hondamsaka; huchiin ngaiin, tuin kum sawmgiat leh kum nga ka hita hi.
11As yet I am as strong today as I was in the day that Moses sent me: as my strength was then, even so is my strength now for war, to go out and to come in.
11Huchipipiin leng Mosi honsawl lai mahbangin ka hat lailaia, nidanglaia kidouna dia leh nasepsilbawlna dia thagui ka neih mahbangin tuin leng ka nei lailai hi.
12Now therefore give me this hill country, of which Yahweh spoke in that day; for you heard in that day how the Anakim were there, and great and fortified cities. It may be that Yahweh will be with me, and I shall drive them out, as Yahweh spoke.”
12Huchiin hiai tang, TOUPAN huai nia a gensa pen honpe tanla; huchia Anakimte a om ua, a khopite a thupiin, kulha umsuak ahi chih huai niin na jaa; TOUPAN a honom pihin, amaute ka delhkhe thei kha mai deh, TOUPAN a nagensa bangin, a chi a.
13Joshua blessed him; and he gave Hebron to Caleb the son of Jephunneh for an inheritance.
13Huchiin Josuain a vualjawla; huan, Jephuni tapa Kaleb tuh a gouluah dingin Hebron khua a peta hi.
14Therefore Hebron became the inheritance of Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite to this day; because he wholly followed Yahweh, the God of Israel.
14Huchiin Hebron khua tu tanin Keniz mi, Jephuni tapa Kaleb gouluah a honghita hi; TOUPA, Israelte Pathian a pom kip jiakin.Huan, Hebron kho min pen amain Kiriatharba ahi a. Huchiin gam tuh galmuangin a om phot hi.
15Now the name of Hebron before was Kiriath Arba, after the greatest man among the Anakim. The land had rest from war.
15Huan, Hebron kho min pen amain Kiriatharba ahi a. Huchiin gam tuh galmuangin a om phot hi.
