Romans

9

1I tell the truth in Christ. I am not lying, my conscience testifying with me in the Holy Spirit,
1Kris ah thu taktak ka gen ahi, ka juau kei, kha Siangthou ah ka sia leh pha theihnain leng hontheihpiha,
2that I have great sorrow and unceasing pain in my heart.
2Ka lungtang ah haksakna thupitak leh lunggaihna dai theilou ka pai ahi.
3For I could wish that I myself were accursed from Christ for my brothers’ sake, my relatives according to the flesh,
3Ka unaute sa lama ka chi pihte sikin, kei pen Kris kianga kipan hihtuam khop hialin hamse thuakin om hial leng ka chi ngala.
4who are Israelites; whose is the adoption, the glory, the covenants, the giving of the law, the service, and the promises;
4Isreal mi ahi ngal ua; ta hihna bang, thupina bang, thukhun tengteng bang, dan piakna bang, Pathian nasepna bang, thuchiam tengteng bang, amaua ahi a;
5of whom are the fathers, and from whom is Christ as concerning the flesh, who is over all, God, blessed forever. Amen.
5Pipute leng amaua ahi ua, sa lam thu ah Kris leng amau laka kipan a hongpawt ahi a; amah thil tengteng tunga om, khantawn phat tuak Pathian ahi. Amen.
6But it is not as though the word of God has come to nothing. For they are not all Israel, that are of Israel.
6Himahleh, Pathian thu bangmahlou banga omta ahi keia. Isreal suante Isreal mi ahi vek kei uhi;
7Neither, because they are Abraham’s seed, are they all children. But, “In Isaac will your seed be called.”
7Abraham suante a hih jiak un a vek un a tate leng ahi kei uhi; Isaak ah na suante a kiminloh ding, chih ahi jaw hi.
8That is, it is not the children of the flesh who are children of God, but the children of the promise are counted as a seed.
8Huai tuh, sa tate Pathian tate ahi kei ua, thuchiam tate Abraham suana seh ahi jaw uh, chihna ahi.
9For this is a word of promise, “At the appointed time I will come, and Sarah will have a son.”
9Thuchiam pen tuh hiai ahi: Tu hun bangin ka hong dia, Sarain ta a nei ding chih.
10Not only so, but Rebecca also conceived by one, by our father Isaac.
10Huai phet ahi kei Rebekain leng i pu Isaak laka nau a pai laiin,
11For being not yet born, neither having done anything good or bad, that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works, but of him who calls,
11Naupangte a pian ma un, sia leh pha a hih ma un, thilhih jiak hilou in, a sampa deih jiak hi jawin, tel lam thu ah Pathian thu seh tuh a kip theihna dingin-a kiangah;
12it was said to her, “The elder will serve the younger.”
12A upa jawin a naupang jaw na a sem ding, Pathianin a chi ahi.
13Even as it is written, “Jacob I loved, but Esau I hated.”
13Jakob ka it a, Esau jaw ka hua, chih gelh bangin.
14What shall we say then? Is there unrighteousness with God? May it never be!
14Bang I genta ding ua leh? Pathian ah diktatlouhna a om ahia?
15For he said to Moses, “I will have mercy on whom I have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion.”
15Om lou hial. Aman, Ka hehpih peuhmah ka hehpih dia, zah ka ngaihna tung peuhmah ah zah ka ngai ding, chiin, Mosi kiangah a genta ngal a.
16So then it is not of him who wills, nor of him who runs, but of God who has mercy.
16Huaijiakin, a deihpa jiak ahi keia, a taipa jiak leng ahi sam keia, a hehpihpa Pathian jiak ahi jaw hi.
17For the Scripture says to Pharaoh, “For this very purpose I caused you to be raised up, that I might show in you my power, and that my name might be proclaimed in all the earth.”
17Laisiangthou in Pharo kiangah, Hiai jiak takin ka hontungding ahi, nanga ka thilhihtheihna ka taklat theihna ding leh, leitung tengtenga ka min a than theihna dingin, achi ngal a.
18So then, he has mercy on whom he desires, and he hardens whom he desires.
18Huchiin, Pathianin a ut peuhpeuh a hehpiha, a ut peuhpeuh leng a genhak sak ahi.
19You will say then to me, “Why does he still find fault? For who withstands his will?”
19Nou, ka kiangah, Bangdia hondem ahia? A deihlam kuan ahia kalh? Non chi ding uh a hih tuak.
20But indeed, O man, who are you to reply against God? Will the thing formed ask him who formed it, “Why did you make me like this?”
20Ahi, himahleh, mihing aw, Pathian nial vialpa kua na hia leh? Thilsiamin, a siampa kiangah, Bang achia hichi banga honsiam? A chi dia hia?
21Or hasn’t the potter a right over the clay, from the same lump to make one part a vessel for honor, and another for dishonor?
21Bellei tang khat apan bel khat kilawm taka, bel khat zatna niama zat ding a bawl din belvelpan bellei tungah thu a neikeia hia?
22What if God, willing to show his wrath, and to make his power known, endured with much patience vessels of wrath made for destruction,
22Hehna bel mangthang dia kilawmte tunga, Pathianin a hehna leh a thilhihtheihna latsak uta, a thuakzoh teitei leh, bang a poi dia, huchia,
23and that he might make known the riches of his glory on vessels of mercy, which he prepared beforehand for glory,
23Hehpihna bel, thupi dinga a nabawl kholhte tunga, a hehpihna hauhdan a latsak theihna dingin.
24us, whom he also called, not from the Jews only, but also from the Gentiles?
24Huaite tuh eite i hi-huai hehpihna belte Judate laka kipan kia hilou a, Jentelte laka kipana leng sapte.
25As he says also in Hosea, “I will call them ‘my people,’ which were not my people; and her ‘beloved,’ who was not beloved.”
25Hosia laibu ah, Ka mite hi ngei lou, ka mite, ka chi dia; huan, it ngei louhnu leng Itnu, ka chi ding.
26“It will be that in the place where it was said to them, ‘You are not my people,’ There they will be called ‘children of the living God.’”
26Huan hichi a honghi dia, a kiang ua, Ka mite na hi kei uh, chihna mun ah ngei Pathian hing tate sakin a om ding uh. chih gelh bangin.
27Isaiah cries concerning Israel, “If the number of the children of Israel are as the sand of the sea, it is the remnant who will be saved;
27Isai in leng Isreal mite thu kikou pihin, Isreal mite jaw tuipi puiaunel zahin tam mahle uh, a gawt bang kia hotdamin a om ding uh.
28for He will finish the work and cut it short in righteousness, because the LORD will make a short work upon the earth.”
28Toupan kintaka hihzou vekin leitungah a gawt ding thu a tangtun dek ngala, a chi.
29As Isaiah has said before, “Unless the Lord of Armies had left us a seed, we would have become like Sodom, and would have been made like Gomorrah.”
29Isai mahin, Mipite Toupan chi suah ding honna hawi saklou hileh Sodom khua bangin i naomta ding ua, Gomorra khua banga bawlin i naomta ding, chia a agen kholh bangin.
30What shall we say then? That the Gentiles, who didn’t follow after righteousness, attained to righteousness, even the righteousness which is of faith;
30Bang i genta dia leh? Jentel, diktatna delh louten, diktatna a naphata uh ahi, -ginna jiaka diktatna tuh.
31but Israel, following after a law of righteousness, didn’t arrive at the law of righteousness.
31Isreal, diktatna dan delhten, diktatna dan pen a pha zouta kei uh.
32Why? Because they didn’t seek it by faith, but as it were by works of the law. They stumbled over the stumbling stone;
32Bang hang ahia? Ginnain a delh kei ua, thilhiha muh theih bangin a delh jiak uh ahi. Pukna suangah a pukta ngal ua.Ngaiin, Zion ah kisuihna suang leh pukna suangpi ka koiha, kuapeuhmah amah gingta tuh a zahlak kei ding, chih gelh bangin.
33even as it is written, “Behold, I lay in Zion a stumbling stone and a rock of offense; and no one who believes in him will be disappointed.”
33Ngaiin, Zion ah kisuihna suang leh pukna suangpi ka koiha, kuapeuhmah amah gingta tuh a zahlak kei ding, chih gelh bangin.
