¹These were the divisions of the sons of Aaron. The sons of Aaron: Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar.

¹ گروه نسل هارون از این قرار بود: ناداب، ابیهو، العازار و ایتامار.

²But Nadab and Abihu died before their father, and had no children: therefore Eleazar and Ithamar executed the priest’s office.

² امّا ناداب و ابیهو قبل از پدر خود مُردند و پسری نداشتند، پس العازار و ایتامار کاهن شدند.

³David with Zadok of the sons of Eleazar, and Ahimelech of the sons of Ithamar, divided them according to their ordering in their service.

³ با کمک صادوق، از نسل العازار، و اخیملک از نسل ایتامار، داوود نسل هارون را بر حسب وظایفشان گروه‌بندی کرد.

⁴There were more chief men found of the sons of Eleazar than of the sons of Ithamar; and they were divided like this: of the sons of Eleazar there were sixteen, heads of fathers’ houses; and of the sons of Ithamar, according to their fathers’ houses, eight.

⁴ نسل العازار به شانزده گروه و نسل ایتامار به هشت گروه تقسیم شدند، چون در نسل العازار تعداد مردان زیادتر بود.

⁵Thus were they divided impartially by drawing lots; for there were princes of the sanctuary, and princes of God, both of the sons of Eleazar, and of the sons of Ithamar.

⁵ چون در نسل العازار و هم در نسل ایتامار مقامات معبد بزرگ و رهبران روحانی وجود داشتند، کارهای ایشان را به قید قرعه تعیین کردند.

⁶Shemaiah the son of Nethanel the scribe, who was of the Levites, wrote them in the presence of the king, and the princes, and Zadok the priest, and Ahimelech the son of Abiathar, and the heads of the fathers’ households of the priests and of the Levites; one fathers’ house being taken for Eleazar, and one taken for Ithamar.

⁶ شمعیا، پسر نتنئیل که از نسل لاوی بود، منشی بود و نامها و وظایف آنها را در حضور پادشاه، مأموران او، صادوق کاهن، اخیملک پسر ابیاتار، رؤسای خانواده‌های کاهنان و لاویان -‌یک دسته از فرقه العازار و یک دسته از فرقه ایتامار‌- می‌نوشت.

⁷Now the first lot came forth to Jehoiarib, the second to Jedaiah,

⁷ بیست و چهار خانواده به ترتیب زیر برحسب قرعه به وظایف خود گماشته شدند: 1) یهویاریب؛ 2) یعدیا؛ 3) حاریم؛ 4) سعوریم؛ 5) ملکیه؛ 6) میامین؛ 7) هقوص؛ 8) ابیا؛ 9) یشوع؛ 10) شکنیا؛ 11) الیاشیب؛ 12) یاقیم؛ 13) حُفه؛ 14) یشبآب؛ 15) بلجه؛ 16) اِمیر؛ 17) حیزیر؛ 18) هِفصیص؛ 19) فتحیا؛ 20) یَحزَقیئیل؛ 21) یاکین؛ 22) جامول؛ 23) دلایا؛ 24) معزیا.

⁸the third to Harim, the fourth to Seorim,

⁸ این مردان مطابق وظایف خود در معبد بزرگ که توسط جدشان، هارون تعیین شده بود و با پیروی از فرمان خداوند خدای اسرائیل ثبت نام شدند.

⁹the fifth to Malchijah, the sixth to Mijamin,

⁹ بقیّهٔ نسل لاوی عبارت بودند از: نسل عمرام: شوبائیل؛ نسل شوبائیل: یحدیا؛

¹⁰the seventh to Hakkoz, the eighth to Abijah,

¹⁰ نسل رحبیا: یشیا اول بود؛

¹¹the ninth to Jeshua, the tenth to Shecaniah,

¹¹ نسل یهصار: شلوموت؛ نسل شلوموت: یَحَت؛

¹²the eleventh to Eliashib, the twelfth to Jakim,

¹² نسل حبرون: اولی یریا، دوّمی امریا، سومی یحزیئیل و چهارمی یقمعام،

¹³the thirteenth to Huppah, the fourteenth to Jeshebeab,

¹³ نسل عُزیئیل: میکا؛ نسل میکا: شمیر؛

¹⁴the fifteenth to Bilgah, the sixteenth to Immer,

¹⁴ نسل یشیا، برادر میکا: زکریا؛

¹⁵the seventeenth to Hezir, the eighteenth to Happizzez,

¹⁵ نسل مراری: محلی و موشی؛ پسر یعزیا: بَنو؛

¹⁶the nineteenth to Pethahiah, the twentieth to Jehezkel,

¹⁶ نسل مراری از پسران یعزیا: بنو، شوهم، زکور و عبری؛

¹⁷the twenty-first to Jachin, the twenty-second to Gamul,

¹⁷ نسل محلی: العازار او پسری نداشت؛

¹⁸the twenty-third to Delaiah, the twenty-fourth to Maaziah.

¹⁸ نسل قیس: از جمله پسرانش، یرحمئیل؛

¹⁹This was their ordering in their service, to come into the house of Yahweh according to the ordinance given to them by Aaron their father, as Yahweh, the God of Israel, had commanded him.

¹⁹ نسل موشی: محلی، عادر و یریموت؛ اینها لاویان و خانواده‌شان بودند. مانند نسل هارون آنها هم به حکم قرعه در حضور داوود، صادوق، اخیملک و رؤسای خانواده‌های کاهنان و لاویان، بدون تبعیض تعیین شدند.

²⁶The sons of Merari: Mahli and Mushi; the sons of Jaaziah: Beno.

²⁷The sons of Merari: of Jaaziah, Beno, and Shoham, and Zaccur, and Ibri.

²⁸Of Mahli: Eleazar, who had no sons.

²⁹Of Kish; the sons of Kish: Jerahmeel.

³⁰The sons of Mushi: Mahli, and Eder, and Jerimoth. These were the sons of the Levites after their fathers’ houses.

³¹These likewise cast lots even as their brothers the sons of Aaron in the presence of David the king, and Zadok, and Ahimelech, and the heads of the fathers’ households of the priests and of the Levites; the fathers’ households of the chief even as those of his younger brother.
