¹David the king said to all the assembly, “Solomon my son, whom alone God has chosen, is yet young and tender, and the work is great; for the palace is not for man, but for Yahweh God.

¹ داوود پادشاه به تمام کسانی‌که آنجا بودند گفت: «پسر من، سلیمان که خدا تنها او را برگزید، جوان و بی‌تجربه است و کاری که باید انجام شود عظیم است، زیرا این معبد بزرگ برای انسان نیست بلکه برای خداوند است.

²Now I have prepared with all my might for the house of my God the gold for the things of gold, and the silver for the things of silver, and the brass for the things of brass, the iron for the things of iron, and wood for the things of wood; onyx stones, and stones to be set, stones for inlaid work, and of various colors, and all kinds of precious stones, and marble stones in abundance.

² پس من برای معبد بزرگ تا آنجا که توانایی داشتم، تدارک دیده‌ام. طلا برای وسایل طلایی، نقره برای ساختن وسایل نقره‌ای، برنز برای وسایل برنزی، آهن برای ساختن وسایل آهنی و چوب برای کارهای چوبی و مقدار زیادی عقیق و سنگهای زینتی، سنگ سرمه، سنگهای رنگی، انواع سنگهای گرانبها و مرمر فراوان.

³In addition, because I have set my affection on the house of my God, since I have a treasure of my own of gold and silver, I give it to the house of my God, over and above all that I have prepared for the holy house,

³ به علاوهٔ آنچه برای معبد بزرگ خدا تدارک دیده‌ام، من خزانه‌ای از طلا و نقره دارم که به‌خاطر عشقی که به معبد بزرگ دارم، آن را اهدا کرده‌ام

⁴even three thousand talents of gold, of the gold of Ophir, and seven thousand talents of refined silver, with which to overlay the walls of the houses;

⁴ من معادل صد و ده تن طلای خالص و معادل دویست و شصت تن نقره خالص برای دیوارهای معبد بزرگ

⁵of gold for the things of gold, and of silver for the things of silver, and for all kinds of work to be made by the hands of artisans. Who then offers willingly to consecrate himself this day to Yahweh?”

⁵ و برای ساختن اشیایی که صنعتگران خواهند ساخت داده‌ام. چه کسی چنین هدیهٔ سخاوتمندانه‌ای به خدا تقدیم می‌کند؟»

⁶Then the princes of the fathers’ households, and the princes of the tribes of Israel, and the captains of thousands and of hundreds, with the rulers over the king’s work, offered willingly;

⁶ آنگاه رؤسای طایفه‌ها و خاندانها و فرماندهان ارتش و سرپرستان دارایی پادشاه معادل صد و نَود تن طلا، سیصد و هشتاد تن نقره، ششصد و هفتاد و پنج تن برنز و سه هزار و هفتصد و پنجاه تن آهن برای کارهای معبد بزرگ هدیه دادند

⁷and they gave for the service of God’s house of gold five thousand talents and ten thousand darics, and of silver ten thousand talents, and of brass eighteen thousand talents, and of iron a hundred thousand talents.

⁷ هرکس سنگ گرانبهایی داشت، آن را به خزانهٔ معبد بزرگ که مسئولش یحیئیل جرشونی از طایفهٔ لاوی بود، داد.

⁸They with whom precious stones were found gave them to the treasure of the house of Yahweh, under the hand of Jehiel the Gershonite.

⁸ آنگاه مردم شادمانی کردند، زیرا ایشان داوطلبانه و با تمام دل به خداوند هدیه داده بودند. داوود پادشاه نیز بسیار شادمان شد.

⁹Then the people rejoiced, because they offered willingly, because with a perfect heart they offered willingly to Yahweh: and David the king also rejoiced with great joy.

⁹ داوود پادشاه در برابر جمعیّت خداوند را ستایش کرد. او گفت: «ای خداوند خدای جدّ ما یعقوب، تو باید جاودانه ستایش شوی،

¹⁰Therefore David blessed Yahweh before all the assembly; and David said, “You are blessed, Yahweh, the God of Israel our father, forever and ever.

¹⁰ ای خداوند، عظمت، قدرت، جلال، پیروزی و شکوه از آن توست و هر آنچه در زمین و آسمان است، از آن توست. پادشاهی از آن توست، تو بر فراز همه سر برافراشته‌ای.

¹¹Yours, Yahweh, is the greatness, the power, the glory, the victory, and the majesty! For all that is in the heavens and in the earth is yours. Yours is the kingdom, Yahweh, and you are exalted as head above all.

¹¹ ثروت و احترام از تو سر چشمه می‌گیرند و تو بر همه فرمانروایی. توانایی و قدرت در دست توست، و این در دست توست که بزرگی و به همه نیرو می‌بخشی.

¹²Both riches and honor come from you, and you rule over all; and in your hand is power and might; and it is in your hand to make great, and to give strength to all.

¹² اکنون ای خدای ما، تو را سپاس می‌گوییم و نام با شکوه تو را نیایش می‌کنیم.

¹³Now therefore, our God, we thank you, and praise your glorious name.

¹³ «امّا من کیستم و مردم من کیستند که قادرند این هدایا را داوطلبانه به تو تقدیم کنند؟ زیرا همه‌چیز از تو سرچشمه می‌گیرد و از مال تو به خودت داده‌ایم.

¹⁴But who am I, and what is my people, that we should be able to offer so willingly as this? For all things come from you, and of your own have we given you.

¹⁴ زیرا ما در برابر تو بیگانه و تبعیدی هستیم، همان‌گونه که اجداد ما بودند، روزهای ما در روی زمین چون سایه‌ای است بدون امید.

¹⁵For we are strangers before you, and foreigners, as all our fathers were. Our days on the earth are as a shadow, and there is no remaining.

¹⁵ ای خداوند خدای ما! آنچه ما با فراوانی برای ساختن معبدی به نام مقدّس تو تدارک دیده‌ایم از دست تو آمده و همهٔ از آن توست.

¹⁶Yahweh our God, all this store that we have prepared to build you a house for your holy name comes from your hand, and is all your own.

¹⁶ ای خدای من، من می‌دانم که تو دل را آزمایش می‌کنی و از راستان شادمان می‌گردی، در راستی قلبم، من آزادانه همهٔ این چیزها را کرده‌ام، اکنون می‌بینم مردم تو هم که در اینجا هستند، با میل و شادی به تو هدایا تقدیم می‌کنند.

¹⁷I know also, my God, that you try the heart, and have pleasure in uprightness. As for me, in the uprightness of my heart I have willingly offered all these things. Now have I seen with joy your people, that are present here, offer willingly to you.

¹⁷ ای خداوند خدای اجداد ما ابراهیم، اسحاق و یعقوب، چنین هدف و اندیشه‌هایی را تا ابد در دلهای قوم خود نگه‌دار و دلهایشان را به سوی خود رهنمایی فرما

¹⁸Yahweh, the God of Abraham, of Isaac, and of Israel, our fathers, keep this forever in the imagination of the thoughts of the heart of your people, and prepare their heart for you;

¹⁸ و به پسرم، سلیمان قلبی پر از اشتیاق ده تا فرمانها، دستورات و قوانین تو را بجا آورد تا معبد بزرگی را که من برای آن تدارک دیده بودم بسازد.»

¹⁹and give to Solomon my son a perfect heart, to keep your commandments, your testimonies, and your statutes, and to do all these things, and to build the palace, for which I have made provision.”

¹⁹ آنگاه داوود به مردم گفت: «خداوند خدایتان را ستایش کنید.» و همهٔ مردم خداوند خدای نیاکانشان را ستایش کردند و در برابر خداوند و پادشاه به خاک افتادند و نیایش کردند.

²⁰David said to all the assembly, “Now bless Yahweh your God!” All the assembly blessed Yahweh, the God of their fathers, and bowed down their heads and prostrated themselves before Yahweh and the king.

²⁰ روز بعد برای خداوند قربانی کردند و هدایای سوختنی تقدیم نمودند. هزار گاو، هزار قوچ و هزار برّه با هدایای نوشیدنی و برای تمام اسرائیل با فراوانی قربانی کردند.

²¹They sacrificed sacrifices to Yahweh, and offered burnt offerings to Yahweh, on the next day after that day, even one thousand bulls, one thousand rams, and one thousand lambs, with their drink offerings, and sacrifices in abundance for all Israel,

²¹ ایشان در آن روز با شادی فراوان در حضور خداوند خوردند و نوشیدند. آنگاه مردم سلیمان، پسر داوود را برای دومین بار به عنوان پادشاه خود اعلام کردند و او را به عنوان فرمانروا و صادوق را به عنوان کاهن مسح نمودند.

²²and ate and drink before Yahweh on that day with great gladness. They made Solomon the son of David king the second time, and anointed him to Yahweh to be prince, and Zadok to be priest.

²² آنگاه سلیمان به جای پدرش داوود بر تخت خداوند نشست و کامیاب شد و همهٔ اسرائیل از او اطاعت کردند.

²³Then Solomon sat on the throne of Yahweh as king instead of David his father, and prospered; and all Israel obeyed him.

²³ تمام رهبران و مردان دلاور و همچنین پسران داوود پادشاه وفاداری خود را به سلیمان پادشاه اعلام داشتند.

²⁴All the princes, the mighty men, and also all of the sons of king David submitted themselves to Solomon the king.

²⁴ خداوند سلیمان را در نظر اسرائیل بزرگ کرد و به او چنان شکوه شاهانه‌ای داد که به هیچ پادشاهی قبل از او داده نشده بود.

²⁵Yahweh magnified Solomon exceedingly in the sight of all Israel, and bestowed on him such royal majesty as had not been on any king before him in Israel.

²⁵ داوود، پسر یَسی بر تمام اسرائیل سلطنت کرد، مدّت سلطنت او بر اسرائیل چهل سال بود او هفت سال در حبرون و سی و سه سال در اورشلیم پادشاهی کرد.

²⁶Now David the son of Jesse reigned over all Israel.

²⁶ آنگاه او در پیری، با عمری دراز، با ثروت و احترام درگذشت و سلیمان پسرش جانشین او شد. کارهای داوود پادشاه از آغاز تا پایان، در اسناد سموئیلِ رائی، ناتانِ نبی و جادِ رائی با تمام رویدادها، چگونگی سلطنت او و توانایی‌ها و وقایعی که برای او و اسرائیل و تمام سرزمینهای اطراف رخ داد، نوشته شده‌اند.

²⁷The time that he reigned over Israel was forty years; he reigned seven years in Hebron, and he reigned thirty-three years in Jerusalem.

²⁷ کارهای داوود پادشاه از آغاز تا پایان، در اسناد سموئیلِ رائی، ناتانِ نبی و جادِ رائی با تمام رویدادها، چگونگی سلطنت او و توانایی‌ها و وقایعی که برای او و اسرائیل و تمام سرزمینهای اطراف رخ داد، نوشته شده‌اند.

²⁸He died in a good old age, full of days, riches, and honor: and Solomon his son reigned in his place.

²⁹Now the acts of David the king, first and last, behold, they are written in the history of Samuel the seer, and in the history of Nathan the prophet, and in the history of Gad the seer,

³⁰with all his reign and his might, and the times that went over him, and over Israel, and over all the kingdoms of the countries.
