¹So all Israel were reckoned by genealogies; and behold, they are written in the book of the kings of Israel: and Judah was carried away captive to Babylon for their disobedience.

¹ اسامی همهٔ مردم اسرائیل مطابق خانوادهٔ ایشان در کتاب پادشاهان اسرائیل ثبت شده بود. مردم یهودا به‌خاطر مجازات گناهان خود به بابل به اسارت برده شده بودند.

²Now the first inhabitants who lived in their possessions in their cities were Israel, the priests, the Levites, and the Nethinim.

² نخستین کسانی‌که بازگشتند و در شهرها و املاک خود ساکن شدند، مردم عادی اسرائیل، کاهنان، لاویان و کارگران معبد بزرگ بودند.

³In Jerusalem lived of the children of Judah, and of the children of Benjamin, and of the children of Ephraim and Manasseh:

³ این است نام گروهی از مردم طایفه‌های یهودا، بنیامین و افرایم و منسی که به اورشلیم رفتند و در آنجا ساکن شدند.

⁴Uthai the son of Ammihud, the son of Omri, the son of Imri, the son of Bani, of the children of Perez the son of Judah.

⁴ عوتای، پسر عمیهود، پسر عُمری، پسر اِمری، پسر بانی، از نسل فارص، پسر یهودا.

⁵Of the Shilonites: Asaiah the firstborn, and his sons.

⁵ از خانوادهٔ شیلونیان: عسایا، پسر اول و پسرانش.

⁶Of the sons of Zerah: Jeuel, and their brothers, six hundred ninety.

⁶ از خانوادهٔ زارح: یوئیل و خویشاوندان او. تعداد ساکنان طایفهٔ یهودا در اورشلیم ششصد و نَود نفر بود.

⁷Of the sons of Benjamin: Sallu the son of Meshullam, the son of Hodaviah, the son of Hassenuah,

⁷ از طایفهٔ بنیامین: سَلو، پسر مشلام، نوه هودیا، نتیجهٔ هسنوآه،

⁸and Ibneiah the son of Jeroham, and Elah the son of Uzzi, the son of Michri, and Meshullam the son of Shephatiah, the son of Reuel, the son of Ibnijah;

⁸ یبنیا پسر یروحام، ایله پسر عزی، نوه مکری، مشلام پسر شفطیا، نوه رعوئیل، نتیجهٔ یبنیا.

⁹and their brothers, according to their generations, nine hundred fifty-six. All these men were heads of fathers’ households by their fathers’ houses.

⁹ تعداد این مردم طبق نسب نامهٔ ایشان نهصد و پنجاه و شش نفر و همگی رؤسای خانوادهٔ خود بودند.

¹⁰Of the priests: Jedaiah, and Jehoiarib, Jachin,

¹⁰ از کاهنان: یدعیا، یهویاریب، یاکین،

¹¹and Azariah the son of Hilkiah, the son of Meshullam, the son of Zadok, the son of Meraioth, the son of Ahitub, the ruler of God’s house;

¹¹ عزریا، پسر حلقیا، پسر مشلام، پسر صادوق، پسر مرایوت، پسر اخیطوب مسئول معبد بزرگ،

¹²and Adaiah the son of Jeroham, the son of Pashhur, the son of Malchijah, and Maasai the son of Adiel, the son of Jahzerah, the son of Meshullam, the son of Meshillemith, the son of Immer;

¹² عدایا، پسر یروحام، پسر فشحور، پسر ملکیا، معسای، پسر عدیئیل، پسر یحزیره، پسر مشلام، پسر مشلیمیت، پسر امیر و خویشاوندان ایشان.

¹³and their brothers, heads of their fathers’ houses, one thousand seven hundred sixty; very able men for the work of the service of God’s house.

¹³ تعداد کاهنان هزار و هفتصد و شصت نفر و همه رؤسای خانواده و اشخاص کاردانی بودند و در معبد بزرگ انجام وظیفه می‌کردند.

¹⁴Of the Levites: Shemaiah the son of Hasshub, the son of Azrikam, the son of Hashabiah, of the sons of Merari;

¹⁴ از لاویان: شمعیا، پسر حشوب، پسر عزریقام، پسر حشبیا از خانوادهٔ مراری.

¹⁵and Bakbakkar, Heresh, and Galal, and Mattaniah the son of Mica, the son of Zichri, the son of Asaph,

¹⁵ یقبقر، حارش، جِلال، متنیا، پسر میکا، نوهٔ زکری، نتیجهٔ آساف،

¹⁶and Obadiah the son of Shemaiah, the son of Galal, the son of Jeduthun, and Berechiah the son of Asa, the son of Elkanah, who lived in the villages of the Netophathites.

¹⁶ عوبدیا، پسر شمعیا، نوهٔ جِلال، نتیجهٔ یدوتون، برخیا، پسر آسا، نوهٔ القانه، ایشان در روستاهای نطوفاتیان سکونت داشتند.

¹⁷The porters: Shallum, and Akkub, and Talmon, and Ahiman, and their brothers (Shallum was the chief),

¹⁷ دروازه‌بانان عبارت بودند از: شلوم رئیس دروازه‌بانان، عقوب، طلمون، اخیمان و نزدیکانشان.

¹⁸who previously served in the king’s gate eastward: they were the porters for the camp of the children of Levi.

¹⁸ تا آن زمان اعضای خاندان ایشان از دروازهٔ شرقی پادشاه محافظت می‌کردند و قبل از آن از اردوگاههای لاویان نگهبانی می‌کردند.

¹⁹Shallum the son of Kore, the son of Ebiasaph, the son of Korah, and his brothers, of his father’s house, the Korahites, were over the work of the service, keepers of the thresholds of the tent: and their fathers had been over the camp of Yahweh, keepers of the entry.

¹⁹ شلوم، پسر قوری، نوهٔ ابیاساف، نتیجهٔ قورح و اعضای خانوادهٔ قورحیان مسئول نگهبانی دروازهٔ ورودی خیمهٔ مقدّس خداوند بودند، همان‌گونه که اجداد آنها مسئول نگهبانی اردوگاه خداوند بودند.

²⁰Phinehas the son of Eleazar was ruler over them in time past, and Yahweh was with him.

²⁰ فینحاس، پسر العازار قبلاً رئیس دروازه‌بانان بود و خداوند با او می‌بود.

²¹Zechariah the son of Meshelemiah was porter of the door of the Tent of Meeting.

²¹ زکریا، پسر مشلمیا دروازه‌بان دروازهٔ ورودی خیمهٔ مقدّس بود.

²²All these who were chosen to be porters in the thresholds were two hundred and twelve. These were reckoned by genealogy in their villages, whom David and Samuel the seer ordained in their office of trust.

²² تعداد نگهبانان درهای ورودی و دروازه‌ها دویست و دوازده نفر بودند. ایشان طبق روستاهایی که در آن زندگی می‌کردند، ثبت نام شده بودند. داوود پادشاه و سموئیل رائی اجداد ایشان را برای این مسئولیّت گمارده بودند.

²³So they and their children had the oversight of the gates of the house of Yahweh, even the house of the tent, by wards.

²³ ایشان و فرزندانشان به نگهبانی از دروازهٔ معبد بزرگ ادامه دادند.

²⁴On the four sides were the porters, toward the east, west, north, and south.

²⁴ دروازه‌بانان در چهار جهت شرق، غرب، شمال و جنوب قرار داشتند.

²⁵Their brothers, in their villages, were to come in every seven days from time to time to be with them:

²⁵ خویشاوندان آنها به نوبت، از روستاهای مربوطه می‌آمدند و برای هفت روز در آنجا به ایشان کمک می‌کردند.

²⁶for the four chief porters, who were Levites, were in an office of trust, and were over the rooms and over the treasuries in God’s house.

²⁶ ایشان چهار رئیس داشتند، همه لاوی بودند و مسئولیّت اتاقها و خزانه‌های معبد بزرگ خداوند را به دوش داشتند.

²⁷They lodged around God’s house, because that duty was on them; and to them pertained its opening morning by morning.

²⁷ به‌خاطر اهمیّت کار ایشان در نزدیکی معبد بزرگ زندگی می‌کردند تا از دروازه‌های آن نگهبانی و هر صبح آنها را باز کنند.

²⁸Certain of them were in charge of the vessels of service; for by count were these brought in and by count were these taken out.

²⁸ بعضی از ایشان مسئول ظروف مربوط به مراسم معبد بزرگ بودند و هنگامی‌که آنها را برمی‌داشتند و بازمی‌گرداندند آنها را می‌شمردند.

²⁹Some of them also were appointed over the furniture, and over all the vessels of the sanctuary, and over the fine flour, and the wine, and the oil, and the frankincense, and the spices.

²⁹ دیگران مسئول وسایل مقدّس دیگر، آرد، شراب، روغن زیتون، بخور و عطریّات بودند.

³⁰Some of the sons of the priests prepared the confection of the spices.

³⁰ مسئولیّت مخلوط کردن و ساختن عطریّات با کاهنان بود.

³¹Mattithiah, one of the Levites, who was the firstborn of Shallum the Korahite, had the office of trust over the things that were baked in pans.

³¹ یکی از لاویان به نام متتیا، فرزند نخست شلوم از خاندان قورحی مسئول پختن نان اهدایی بود.

³²Some of their brothers, of the sons of the Kohathites, were over the show bread, to prepare it every Sabbath.

³² بعضی از افراد خاندان قهات مسئول پختن نان مقدّس برای روز سبت بودند.

³³These are the singers, heads of fathers’ households of the Levites, who lived in the rooms and were free from other service; for they were employed in their work day and night.

³³ بعضی از خانواده‌های لاوی مسئول موسیقی در معبد بزرگ بودند. رهبران این خانواده‌ها در ساختمان معبد بزرگ زندگی می‌کردند. چون کار آنها شبانه‌روزی بود، مسئولیّت دیگری نداشتند.

³⁴These were heads of fathers’ households of the Levites, throughout their generations, chief men: these lived at Jerusalem.

³⁴ افراد نامبرده طبق شجره‌نامه، همه از رهبران خانواده‌های لاوی بودند که در اورشلیم زندگی می‌کردند.

³⁵In Gibeon there lived the father of Gibeon, Jeiel, whose wife’s name was Maacah:

³⁵ یعی‌ئیل، بانی جبعون، در جبعون سکونت داشت. نام زنش معکه

³⁶and his firstborn son Abdon, and Zur, and Kish, and Baal, and Ner, and Nadab,

³⁶ و نام پسر اولش عبدون بود. بعد از او صور، قیس، بعل، نیر، ناداب،

³⁷and Gedor, and Ahio, and Zechariah, and Mikloth.

³⁷ جدور، اخیو، زکریا و مقلوت بودند.

³⁸Mikloth became the father of Shimeam. They also lived with their brothers in Jerusalem, over against their brothers.

³⁸ مقلوت پدر شماه بود که با خویشاوندان خود در اورشلیم زندگی می‌کرد.

³⁹Ner became the father of Kish; and Kish became the father of Saul; and Saul became the father of Jonathan, and Malchishua, and Abinadab, and Eshbaal.

³⁹ نیر پدر قیس، قیس پدر شائول و شائول پدر یوناتان، ملکیشوع، ابیناداب و اشبعل بود.

⁴⁰The son of Jonathan was Merib Baal; and Merib Baal became the father of Micah.

⁴⁰ مریب بعل پسر یوناتان و میکا پسر مریب بعل بود.

⁴¹The sons of Micah: Pithon, and Melech, and Tahrea, and Ahaz.

⁴¹ فیتون، مالک، تحریع و آحاز پسران میکا بودند.

⁴²Ahaz became the father of Jarah; and Jarah became the father of Alemeth, and Azmaveth, and Zimri; and Zimri became the father of Moza;

⁴² آحاز پدر یعره، یعره پدر علمت، عمری و زمری و زمری پدر موصا،

⁴³and Moza became the father of Binea; and Rephaiah his son, Eleasah his son, Azel his son.

⁴³ موصا پدر بنعا بود. رفایا پسر بنعا، العاسه نوه و آصیل نتیجه‌اش بود. آصیل شش پسر به ‌نامهای عزریقام، بُکرو، اسماعیل، شعریا، عوبدیا و حانان داشت.

⁴⁴Azel had six sons, whose names are these: Azrikam, Bocheru, and Ishmael, and Sheariah, and Obadiah, and Hanan: these were the sons of Azel.

⁴⁴ آصیل شش پسر به ‌نامهای عزریقام، بُکرو، اسماعیل، شعریا، عوبدیا و حانان داشت.
