¹Paul, called to be an apostle of Jesus Christ through the will of God, and our brother Sosthenes,

¹ از طرف پولس كه به ارادهٔ خدا دعوت شد تا رسول مسیح عیسی باشد و از طرف برادر ما سوستانیس

²to the assembly of God which is at Corinth; those who are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all who call on the name of our Lord Jesus Christ in every place, both theirs and ours:

² به كلیسای خدا كه در شهر قرنتس است، یعنی به همهٔ آنانی كه در اتّحاد با عیسی مسیح مقدّس خوانده شده‌اند و به مقام مقدّس دعوت شده‌اند و به همهٔ کسانی‌که در همه‌جا نام عیسی مسیح را كه خداوند آنان و خداوند ماست به زبان می‌آورند.

³Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

³ پدر ما خدا و عیسی خداوند فیض و آرامش به شما عطا فرماید.

⁴I always thank my God concerning you, for the grace of God which was given you in Christ Jesus;

⁴ همیشه خدا را به‌خاطر آن فیضی كه او در عیسی مسیح به شما عطا فرموده است شكر می‌کنم،

⁵that in everything you were enriched in him, in all speech and all knowledge;

⁵ زیرا در اتّحاد با مسیح از هر لحاظ از جمله در كمال سخنوری و معلومات غنی شده‌اید.

⁶even as the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you:

⁶ شهادت ما دربارهٔ مسیح در بین شما به نتیجه رسیده است.

⁷so that you come behind in no gift; waiting for the revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ;

⁷ و شما درحالی‌که انتظار ظهور خداوند ما عیسی مسیح را می‌کشید، از هیچ‌یک از عطایای روح‌القدس بی‌نصیب نیستید.

⁸who will also confirm you until the end, blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.

⁸ او شما را تا به آخر استوار خواهد داشت تا در روز خداوند ما عیسی مسیح بدون عیب و نقص حاضر شوید.

⁹God is faithful, through whom you were called into the fellowship of his Son, Jesus Christ, our Lord.

⁹ خدا شما را دعوت كرده است تا در حیات پسر او، خداوند ما عیسی مسیح شریک و سهیم شوید و او همیشه به قول خود وفادار است.

¹⁰Now I beg you, brothers, The word for “brothers” here and where context allows may also be correctly translated “brothers and sisters” or “siblings.” through the name of our Lord, Jesus Christ, that you all speak the same thing and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfected together in the same mind and in the same judgment.

¹⁰ ای دوستان من، به نام خداوند ما عیسی مسیح از شما درخواست می‌کنم كه همهٔ شما در آنچه كه می‌گویید توافق داشته باشید و دیگر بین شما اختلاف و نفاقی نباشد بلكه با یک فكر و یک هدف کاملاً متّحد باشید.

¹¹For it has been reported to me concerning you, my brothers, by those who are from Chloe’s household, that there are contentions among you.

¹¹ زیرا ای دوستان من، اعضای خانوادهٔ «خلوئی» به من خبر داده‌اند كه در میان شما نزاعهایی وجود دارد.

¹²Now I mean this, that each one of you says, “I follow Paul,” “I follow Apollos,” “I follow Cephas,” and, “I follow Christ.”

¹² منظورم این است كه یكی می‌گوید: «من طرفدار پولس هستم.» و دیگری می‌گوید: «من طرفدار اپلس هستم.» آن یكی خود را پیرو پطرس می‌داند و دیگری خود را پیرو مسیح!

¹³Is Christ divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Or were you baptized into the name of Paul?

¹³ آیا مسیح به دسته‌ها تقسیم شده است؟ آیا پولس برای شما مصلوب گردید؟ آیا به نام پولس تعمید گرفتید؟!

¹⁴I thank God that I baptized none of you, except Crispus and Gaius,

¹⁴ خدا را شكر كه هیچ‌یک از شما را جز كرسپوس و غایوس تعمید ندادم.

¹⁵so that no one should say that I had baptized you into my own name.

¹⁵ بنابراین هیچ‌کس نمی‌تواند ادّعا كند كه من او را به نام خود تعمید داده‌ام.

¹⁶(I also baptized the household of Stephanas; besides them, I don’t know whether I baptized any other.)

¹⁶ آری من همچنین خانوادهٔ استیفان را نیز تعمید دادم، ولی جز ایشان دیگر كسی را به‌خاطر ندارم كه تعمید داده باشم.

¹⁷For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the Good News—not in wisdom of words, so that the cross of Christ wouldn’t be made void.

¹⁷ به هر حال مسیح مرا نفرستاد كه تعمید دهم، بلكه تا بشارت دهم و او نمی‌خواست كه من با فصاحت كلام سخن بگویم، مبادا قدرت صلیب او بی‌اثر شود.

¹⁸For the word of the cross is foolishness to those who are dying, but to us who are saved it is the power of God.

¹⁸ پیام صلیب برای آنانی كه در راه هلاكت هستند، پوچ و بی‌معنی است ولی برای ما كه در راه نجات هستیم، قدرت خداست.

¹⁹For it is written, “I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, I will bring the discernment of the discerning to nothing.” Isaiah 29:14

¹⁹ چنانکه کتاب‌مقدّس می‌فرماید: «حكمت حكیمان را باطل و فهم دانشوران را زایل خواهم كرد.»

²⁰Where is the wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the lawyer of this world? Hasn’t God made foolish the wisdom of this world?

²⁰ پس كجاست حكیم؟ كجاست دانشور؟ و یا كجاست بحث‌كنندهٔ این جهان؟ خدا نشان داده است، كه حكمت این جهان پوچ و بی‌معنی است.

²¹For seeing that in the wisdom of God, the world through its wisdom didn’t know God, it was God’s good pleasure through the foolishness of the preaching to save those who believe.

²¹ خدا در حكمت خویش چنین مقرّر فرمود كه جهانیان نتوانند با حكمت خود او را بشناسند بلكه صلاح دانست كه به وسیلهٔ همین پیام پوچ و بی‌معنی ما، ایمانداران را نجات بخشد.

²²For Jews ask for signs, Greeks seek after wisdom,

²² یهودیان خواستار معجزات هستند و یونانیان دانش و حكمت را دنبال می‌کنند،

²³but we preach Christ crucified; a stumbling block to Jews, and foolishness to Greeks,

²³ امّا ما مسیح مصلوب شده را اعلام می‌کنیم، اگر چه این موضوع برای یهودیان سبب لغزش و رنجش و برای یونانیان پوچ و بی‌معنی است،

²⁴but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ is the power of God and the wisdom of God.

²⁴ امّا برای کسانی‌که خدا آنها را دعوت كرده است خواه یهود، خواه یونانی مسیح قدرت خدا و حكمت اوست،

²⁵Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men.

²⁵ زیرا آنچه در مورد خدا جهالت محسوب می‌شود از حكمت آدمیان حكیمانه‌تر و ضعف خدا از قدرت انسان قویتر است.

²⁶For you see your calling, brothers, that not many are wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, and not many noble;

²⁶ ای دوستان من، به‌خاطر داشته باشید، در آن هنگام كه خدا شما را دعوت كرد چه نوع اشخاصی بودید. از روی معیارهای این جهان اكثر شما افرادی حكیم، با نفوذ، و یا نجیب‌زاده نبودید.

²⁷but God chose the foolish things of the world that he might put to shame those who are wise. God chose the weak things of the world, that he might put to shame the things that are strong;

²⁷ بلكه خدا عمداً آنچه را كه جهانیان پوچ و بی‌معنی می‌شمارند برگزید تا حكیمان را خجل سازد و آنچه را كه جهانیان ضعیف می‌پندارند انتخاب كرد تا نیرومندان را شرمنده سازد.

²⁸and God chose the lowly things of the world, and the things that are despised, and the things that are not, that he might bring to nothing the things that are:

²⁸ خدا آنچه را كه دنیا خوار و خفیف و حتّی نیستی می‌شمارد برگزید تا جهان هستی‌ها را براندازد،

²⁹that no flesh should boast before God.

²⁹ تا هیچ انسانی در حضور او دلیلی برای فخر كردن نداشته باشد.

³⁰But of him, you are in Christ Jesus, who was made to us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification, and redemption:

³⁰ خدا شما را با مسیح عیسی متّحد ساخت و مسیح را برای ما حكمت، نیكی مطلق، پاكی و آزادی گردانیده است. بنابراین چنانکه كلام‌ خدا می‌فرماید: «هرکه بخواهد فخر كند، باید به خداوند فخر نماید.»

³¹that, according as it is written, “He who boasts, let him boast in the Lord.” Jeremiah 9:24

³¹ بنابراین چنانکه كلام‌ خدا می‌فرماید: «هرکه بخواهد فخر كند، باید به خداوند فخر نماید.»
