¹Now when all this was finished, all Israel who were present went out to the cities of Judah, and broke in pieces the pillars, and cut down the Asherim, and broke down the high places and the altars out of all Judah and Benjamin, in Ephraim also and Manasseh, until they had destroyed them all. Then all the children of Israel returned, every man to his possession, into their own cities.

¹ پس از پایان مراسم، تمام مردم اسرائیل که در آنجا حضور داشتند به تمام شهرهای یهودا رفتند و بُتها را شکستند. الههٔ اشره را نابود کردند و همهٔ پرستشگاههای بالای تپّه‌ها و قربانگاههایی را که در یهودا، بنیامین، افرایم و منسی بودند، ویران کردند. بعد همگی به شهر و خانه‌های خود بازگشتند.

²Hezekiah appointed the divisions of the priests and the Levites after their divisions, every man according to his service, both the priests and the Levites, for burnt offerings and for peace offerings, to minister, and to give thanks, and to praise in the gates of the camp of Yahweh.

² حزقیای پادشاه، وظایف کاهنان و لاویان را سازمان داد و وظایف هرکس را مشخص کرد. وظایف شامل تقدیم هدایای سوختنی و سلامتی و خدمت در دروازه‌های اردوی خداوند و شکرگزاری و ستایش بود.

³He appointed also the king’s portion of his substance for the burnt offerings, for the morning and evening burnt offerings, and the burnt offerings for the Sabbaths, and for the new moons, and for the set feasts, as it is written in the law of Yahweh.

³ پادشاه از گلّه و رمهٔ خود، برای قربانی سوختنی در صبح و عصر و روزهای سبت و جشن ماه نو و تمام مراسم دیگر که طبق قانون خداوند بود، حیواناتی هدیه کرد.

⁴Moreover he commanded the people who lived in Jerusalem to give the portion of the priests and the Levites, that they might give themselves to the law of Yahweh.

⁴ پادشاه به مردم اورشلیم فرمان داد تا سهم کاهنان و لاویان را پرداخت کنند تا ایشان بتوانند خود را وقف اجرای قوانین خداوند کنند.

⁵As soon as the commandment came abroad, the children of Israel gave in abundance the first fruits of grain, new wine, and oil, and honey, and of all the increase of the field; and the tithe of all things brought they in abundantly.

⁵ بلافاصله بعد از صدور این فرمان، مردم اسرائیل سخاوتمندانه، هدایایی از نوبر غلاّت، شراب، روغن زیتون، عسل و دیگر محصولات کشاورزی و همچنین ده در صد آنچه را که داشتند، آوردند.

⁶The children of Israel and Judah, who lived in the cities of Judah, they also brought in the tithe of cattle and sheep, and the tithe of dedicated things which were consecrated to Yahweh their God, and laid them by heaps.

⁶ مردم اسرائیل و یهودا که در شهرها زندگی می‌کردند، همچنین ده درصد از رمه و گوسفندان و مقدار فراوانی هدایای دیگر را به خداوند، خدای خود تقدیم کردند.

⁷In the third month they began to lay the foundation of the heaps, and finished them in the seventh month.

⁷ از ماه سوم مردم شروع به هدیه آوردن کردند و تا چهار ماه هدایا به روی هم انباشته می‌شدند.

⁸When Hezekiah and the princes came and saw the heaps, they blessed Yahweh, and his people Israel.

⁸ هنگامی‌که حزقیا و افسران او دیدند که مردم چقدر هدیه آورده‌اند، خداوند را ستایش کردند و از مردم سپاسگزاری نمودند.

⁹Then Hezekiah questioned the priests and the Levites concerning the heaps.

⁹ حزقیا از کاهنان و لاویان در مورد هدایا پرسید.

¹⁰Azariah the chief priest, of the house of Zadok, answered him and said, “Since people began to bring the offerings into the house of Yahweh, we have eaten and had enough, and have left plenty: for Yahweh has blessed his people; and that which is left is this great store.”

¹⁰ عزریا، کاهن اعظم که از خانوادهٔ صادوق بود پاسخ داد: «از زمانی که مردم آغاز به آوردن هدایا‌ها به معبد بزرگ کرده‌اند، ما به اندازهٔ کافی برای خوردن داشته‌ایم و مقدار زیادی نیز ذخیره کرده‌ایم، زیرا خداوند مردم را برکت داده است و به همین دلیل است که مقدار فراوانی باقیمانده است.»

¹¹Then Hezekiah commanded them to prepare rooms in the house of Yahweh; and they prepared them.

¹¹ آنگاه حزقیا به ایشان فرمان داد تا در معبد بزرگ انبارهایی تهیّه کنند و ایشان آنها را آماده کردند

¹²They brought in the offerings and the tithes and the dedicated things faithfully: and over them Conaniah the Levite was ruler, and Shimei his brother was second.

¹² و همهٔ هدایا و ده در صدها را وفادارانه در آنجا نگهداری و حفظ کردند و ایشان یکی از لاویان به نام کننیای را مسئول آنها و برادرش، شمعی را به عنوان دستیار وی گماشتند.

¹³Jehiel, and Azaziah, and Nahath, and Asahel, and Jerimoth, and Jozabad, and Eliel, and Ismachiah, and Mahath, and Benaiah, were overseers under the hand of Conaniah and Shimei his brother, by the appointment of Hezekiah the king, and Azariah the ruler of God’s house.

¹³ ده نفر از لاویان تعیین شدند تا زیرنظر ایشان خدمت کنند که نامهای ایشان عبارت بودند از: یحیئیل، عزریا، نحت، عسائیل، یریموت، یوزاباد، ایلیئیل، یسمخیا، محت و بنایاهو. همهٔ این کارها تحت‌نظر حزقیای پادشاه و عزریا، کاهن اعظم انجام گرفت.

¹⁴Kore the son of Imnah the Levite, the porter at the east gate, was over the freewill offerings of God, to distribute the offerings of Yahweh, and the most holy things.

¹⁴ قوری پسر یمنهٔ لاوی فرمانده نگهبانان دروازهٔ شرقی معبد بزرگ، مسئول دریافت و تقسیم هدایایی که برای خداوند می‌آوردند، بود.

¹⁵Under him were Eden, and Miniamin, and Jeshua, and Shemaiah, Amariah, and Shecaniah, in the cities of the priests, in their office of trust, to give to their brothers by divisions, as well to the great as to the small:

¹⁵ در شهرهای دیگری که کاهنان زندگی می‌کردند، عِیدَن، منیامین، یشوع، شمعیا، امَریا و شکنیا دستیار او بودند، که با صداقت در توزیع آذوقه میان لاویان طبق وظایف ایشان سهم می‌دادند.

¹⁶besides those who were reckoned by genealogy of males, from three years old and upward, even everyone who entered into the house of Yahweh, as the duty of every day required, for their service in their offices according to their divisions;

¹⁶ همچنین برای تمام پسران سه ساله و بالاتر که نام آنها در شجره‌‌نامه بود برحسب گروه و وظایفی که در معبد بزرگ انجام می‌دادند، سهمی تعلّق می‌گرفت.

¹⁷and those who were reckoned by genealogy of the priests by their fathers’ houses, and the Levites from twenty years old and upward, in their offices by their divisions;

¹⁷ نامهای کاهنان بر حسب خاندان و نام لاویان بیست ساله و بالاتر بر حسب وظایف و گروههای ایشان ثبت شده بود.

¹⁸and those who were reckoned by genealogy of all their little ones, their wives, and their sons, and their daughters, through all the congregation: for in their office of trust they sanctified themselves in holiness.

¹⁸ کاهنان با همسران و کودکان، پسران و دختران ایشان ثبت نام شده بودند، زیرا ایشان وفادارانه خود را مقدّس نگاه می‌داشتند

¹⁹Also for the sons of Aaron the priests, who were in the fields of the suburbs of their cities, in every city, there were men who were mentioned by name, to give portions to all the males among the priests, and to all who were reckoned by genealogy among the Levites.

¹⁹ برای بازماندگان هارون، کاهنانی که در کشتزارهای اشتراکی در شهرهای خود بودند، کسانی برگزیده شدند تا سهم کاهنان و لاویانی را که ثبت نام شده بودند، به ایشان بدهند.

²⁰Hezekiah did so throughout all Judah; and he worked that which was good and right and faithful before Yahweh his God.

²⁰ حزقیای پادشاه در سراسر یهودا چنین کرد، او آنچه در برابر خداوند، خدای خود نیکو، راست و وفادارانه بود، انجام داد. او در پیروی از خدا هر کاری که برای خدمت معبد بزرگ و مطابق با فرامین و قوانین خدا بود، با تمامی دل انجام می‌داد و کامیاب می‌شد.

²¹In every work that he began in the service of God’s house, and in the law, and in the commandments, to seek his God, he did it with all his heart, and prospered.

²¹ او در پیروی از خدا هر کاری که برای خدمت معبد بزرگ و مطابق با فرامین و قوانین خدا بود، با تمامی دل انجام می‌داد و کامیاب می‌شد.
