¹Manasseh was twelve years old when he began to reign; and he reigned fifty-five years in Jerusalem.

¹ منسی دوازده ساله بود که پادشاه شد و مدّت پنجاه و پنج سال در اورشلیم سلطنت کرد.

²He did that which was evil in the sight of Yahweh, after the abominations of the nations whom Yahweh cast out before the children of Israel.

² او آنچه را که در نظر خداوند پلید بود انجام داد و از روش اقوامی که خداوند از سر راه مردم اسرائیل بیرون رانده بود، پیروی نمود.

³For he built again the high places which Hezekiah his father had broken down; and he reared up altars for the Baals, and made Asheroth, and worshiped all the army of the sky, and served them.

³ او پرستشگاههای بالای تپّه را که پدرش حزقیا ویران کرده بود، بازسازی کرد و برای بت بعل قربانگاهها برپا کرد و الهه‌های اشره را ساخت. او آفتاب و ماه و ستارگان آسمان را پرستش و خدمت کرد.

⁴He built altars in the house of Yahweh, of which Yahweh said, “My name shall be in Jerusalem forever.”

⁴ او در معبد بزرگ قربانگاهها ساخت، در جایی که خداوند فرموده بود: «نام من در اورشلیم تا ابد خواهد ماند.»

⁵He built altars for all the army of the sky in the two courts of the house of Yahweh.

⁵ او در حیاط معبد بزرگ برای آفتاب و ماه و ستارگان قربانگاهها ساخت.

⁶He also made his children to pass through the fire in the valley of the son of Hinnom; and he practiced sorcery, and used enchantments, and practiced sorcery, and dealt with those who had familiar spirits, and with wizards: he worked much evil in the sight of Yahweh, to provoke him to anger.

⁶ او پسران خود را در درّهٔ هنوم در آتش قربانی کرد. او جادوگری و فالگیری می‌کرد و با احضار کنندگان ارواح و افسونگران مشورت می‌نمود. او در نظر خداوند کارهای بسیار پلیدی کرد و خشم او را برانگیخت.

⁷He set the engraved image of the idol, which he had made, in God’s house, of which God said to David and to Solomon his son, “In this house, and in Jerusalem, which I have chosen out of all the tribes of Israel, will I put my name forever:

⁷ او مجسمهٔ کنده‌کاری شده‌ای را که ساخته بود، در معبد بزرگ قرار داد، جایی که خداوند به داوود و پسرش سلیمان گفته بود: «من در این معبد بزرگ و در اورشلیم شهری که از میان تمام شهرهای طایفه‌های اسرائیل برگزیده‌ام، نام خود را تا ابد خواهم ‌گذاشت.

⁸neither will I any more remove the foot of Israel from off the land which I have appointed for your fathers, if only they will observe to do all that I have commanded them, even all the law and the statutes and the ordinances given by Moses.”

⁸ و اگر مردم اسرائیل توجّه کنند و که از تمام فرامین، قوانین، احکام و دستوراتی که توسط موسی به ایشان داده‌ام، پیروی کنند، من دیگر هرگز ایشان را از سرزمینی که به نیاکانشان داده‌ام، بیرون نخواهم کرد.»

⁹Manasseh seduced Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, so that they did more evil than the nations whom Yahweh destroyed before the children of Israel did.

⁹ ولی منسی، یهودا و مردم اورشلیم را طوری گمراه کرد که ایشان بیشتر از اقوامی که خداوند از برابر ایشان بیرون رانده بود، پلیدی کردند.

¹⁰Yahweh spoke to Manasseh, and to his people; but they gave no heed.

¹⁰ خداوند با منسی و قوم او سخن گفت، امّا ایشان گوش ندادند،

¹¹Therefore Yahweh brought on them the captains of the army of the king of Assyria, who took Manasseh in chains, and bound him with fetters, and carried him to Babylon.

¹¹ پس خداوند فرماندهان ارتش امپراتور آشور را علیه ایشان برانگیخت، ایشان منسی را اسیر کردند و قلّاب در او فرو کردند و او را به زنجیر کشیدند و به بابل بردند.

¹²When he was in distress, he begged Yahweh his God, and humbled himself greatly before the God of his fathers.

¹² در مشقّت خود فروتن شد و از خداوند، خدای خود کمک خواست.

¹³He prayed to him; and he was entreated by him, and heard his supplication, and brought him again to Jerusalem into his kingdom. Then Manasseh knew that Yahweh was God.

¹³ خدا نیایش منسی را پذیرفت و به او پاسخ داد و اجازه داد تا به اورشلیم باز گردد و دوباره حکمرانی کند. این رویداد باعث شد که منسی بداند که خداوند، خداست.

¹⁴Now after this he built an outer wall to the city of David, on the west side of Gihon, in the valley, even to the entrance at the fish gate; and he encircled Ophel with it, and raised it up to a very great height: and he put valiant captains in all the fortified cities of Judah.

¹⁴ سپس او دیوار خارجی شهر داوود را از درّه‌ای که در غرب جیحون، تا دروازهٔ ماهی و ناحیه‌ای از شهر را که تپّهٔ عوفل نامیده می‌شد، بازسازی کرد و به ارتفاع آنها افزود. او همچنین فرماندهان ارتشی در شهرهای مستحکم یهودا گماشت.

¹⁵He took away the foreign gods, and the idol out of the house of Yahweh, and all the altars that he had built in the mountain of the house of Yahweh, and in Jerusalem, and cast them out of the city.

¹⁵ او خدایان بیگانه را همراه با مجسمه‌ای که خودش در معبد بزرگ گذاشته بود بیرون آورد و قربانگاه بت‌پرستان در روی تپّهٔ نزدیک معبد بزرگ و در مکانهای دیگر اورشلیم، همه را از شهر بیرون برد و دور ریخت.

¹⁶He built up the altar of Yahweh, and offered thereon sacrifices of peace offerings and of thanksgiving, and commanded Judah to serve Yahweh, the God of Israel.

¹⁶ او همچنین قربانگاه خداوند را بازسازی کرد و در روی آن قربانی‌های سلامتی و شکرگزاری قربانی کرد. او به همهٔ مردم یهودا فرمان داد تا خداوند، خدای اسرائیل را پرستش کنند.

¹⁷Nevertheless the people sacrificed still in the high places, but only to Yahweh their God.

¹⁷ با وجودی که مردم هنوز در پرستشگاههای بالای تپّه‌ها قربانی می‌کردند، ولی قربانی آنها فقط برای خداوند بود.

¹⁸Now the rest of the acts of Manasseh, and his prayer to his God, and the words of the seers who spoke to him in the name of Yahweh, the God of Israel, behold, they are written among the acts of the kings of Israel.

¹⁸ کارهای دیگر منسی همراه با دعای او به خدای خود و پیام انبیایی که به نام خداوند، خدای اسرائیل با او سخن گفتند، همه در کتاب تاریخ پادشاهان اسرائیل نوشته شده‌اند.

¹⁹His prayer also, and how God was entreated of him, and all his sin and his trespass, and the places in which he built high places, and set up the Asherim and the engraved images, before he humbled himself: behold, they are written in the history of Hozai.

¹⁹ دعای پادشاه و پاسخ خدا به او، فهرست گناهان او قبل از اینکه توبه کند، کارهای پلید او، پرستشگاههایی که در بالای تپّه‌ها ساخت و الهه‌های اشره و دیگر بُتهایی که پرستش کرد، همه در کتاب تاریخ انبیا نوشته شده‌اند.

²⁰So Manasseh slept with his fathers, and they buried him in his own house: and Amon his son reigned in his place.

²⁰ منسی هم مانند نیاکان خود در گذشت و او را در کاخ خود به خاک سپردند و پسرش، آمون جانشین او شد.

²¹Amon was twenty-two years old when he began to reign; and he reigned two years in Jerusalem.

²¹ آمون در سن بیست و دو سالگی به سلطنت رسید و مدّت دو سال در اورشلیم پادشاهی کرد.

²²He did that which was evil in the sight of Yahweh, as did Manasseh his father; and Amon sacrificed to all the engraved images which Manasseh his father had made, and served them.

²² او هم مانند پدرش منسی، کارهایی را که در نظر خداوند پلید بود، انجام داد. او برای تمام بُتهایی که پدرش منسی ساخته بود، قربانی کرد و آنها را پرستش نمود.

²³He didn’t humble himself before Yahweh, as Manasseh his father had humbled himself; but this same Amon trespassed more and more.

²³ او مانند پدرش منسی در برابر خداوند فروتن نشد، بلکه آمون بیشتر و بیشتر به گناهان خود افزود.

²⁴His servants conspired against him, and put him to death in his own house.

²⁴ خدمتکارانش علیه او توطئه چیدند و او را در کاخ سلطنتی کشتند. مردم یهودا قاتلان آمون را کشتند و پسرش، یوشیا را به جای او پادشاه ساختند.

²⁵But the people of the land killed all those who had conspired against king Amon; and the people of the land made Josiah his son king in his place.

²⁵ مردم یهودا قاتلان آمون را کشتند و پسرش، یوشیا را به جای او پادشاه ساختند.
