¹Therefore seeing we have this ministry, even as we obtained mercy, we don’t faint.

¹ چون خدا از لطف خود این مأموریت را به ما داده است مأیوس نمی‌گردیم.

²But we have renounced the hidden things of shame, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by the manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man’s conscience in the sight of God.

² ما به هیچ‌یک از روشهای پنهانی و ننگین متوسّل نمی‌شویم و هرگز با فریبكاری رفتار نمی‌کنیم و پیام خدا را تحریف نمی‌نماییم، بلكه با بیان روشن حقیقت می‌كوشیم كه در حضور خدا مورد پسند وجدان همهٔ مردم باشیم.

³Even if our Good News is veiled, it is veiled in those who perish;

³ زیرا اگر انجیلی كه اعلام می‌کنیم پوشیده باشد، فقط برای كسانی پوشیده است كه در راه هلاكت هستند.

⁴in whom the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving, that the light of the Good News of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should not dawn on them.

⁴ «خدای این جهان» افكار آنها را كور كرده است تا نور انجیل پرشكوه مسیح را كه صورت خدای نادیده است نبینند.

⁵For we don’t preach ourselves, but Christ Jesus as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for Jesus’ sake;

⁵ ما نمی‌خواهیم خودمان مورد توجّه قرار بگیریم بلكه اعلام می‌کنیم كه عیسی مسیح، خداوند است و ما به‌خاطر او خادمان شما هستیم.

⁶seeing it is God who said, “Light will shine out of darkness,” Genesis 1:3 who has shone in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

⁶ زیرا همان خدایی كه فرمود: «روشنایی از میان تاریكی بدرخشد،» در قلبهای ما نیز درخشیده است تا آن نور معرفت جلال خدا كه در چهرهٔ مسیح مشاهده می‌شود بر ما بدرخشد.

⁷But we have this treasure in clay vessels, that the exceeding greatness of the power may be of God, and not from ourselves.

⁷ با وجود این، ما چنین گنجی در کوزه‌های سفالین داریم تا معلوم گردد كه آن قدرت بزرگ از ما نیست، بلكه از آن خداست.

⁸We are pressed on every side, yet not crushed; perplexed, yet not to despair;

⁸ از هر طرف تحت فشاریم، ولی خُرد نمی‌شویم. گاهی دچار شک و تردید می‌شویم، امّا تسلیم نا‌امیدی نمی‌گردیم.

⁹pursued, yet not forsaken; struck down, yet not destroyed;

⁹ آزار می‌بینیم، امّا هیچ‌وقت تنها نیستیم. زمین می‌خوریم ولی نابود نمی‌شویم.

¹⁰always carrying in the body the putting to death of the Lord Jesus, that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body.

¹⁰ بدنهای فانی ما دایماً داغ مرگ عیسی را با خود دارند تا زندگی عیسی در بدنهای ما نیز ظاهر شود.

¹¹For we who live are always delivered to death for Jesus’ sake, that the life also of Jesus may be revealed in our mortal flesh.

¹¹ آری، در تمام دورهٔ زندگی خود همیشه به‌خاطر عیسی به مرگ تسلیم می‌شویم تا زندگی عیسی در جسم فانی ما ظاهر شود.

¹²So then death works in us, but life in you.

¹² پس درحالی‌که اثرات مرگ در بین ما دیده می‌شود، اثرات حیات در بین شما مشهود است.

¹³But having the same spirit of faith, according to that which is written, “I believed, and therefore I spoke.” Psalm 116:10 We also believe, and therefore also we speak;

¹³ کتاب‌مقدّس می‌فرماید: «چون ایمان داشتم، سخن گفتم.» ما نیز در همان روح سخن می‌گوییم، چون ایمان داریم.

¹⁴knowing that he who raised the Lord Jesus will raise us also with Jesus, and will present us with you.

¹⁴ زیرا می‌دانیم خدا كه عیسی خداوند را پس از مرگ زنده گردانید، ما را نیز با عیسی زنده خواهد ساخت و با شما به حضور خود خواهد آورد.

¹⁵For all things are for your sakes, that the grace, being multiplied through the many, may cause the thanksgiving to abound to the glory of God.

¹⁵ این‌همه به‌خاطر شماست تا به هر اندازه‌ای كه فیض خدا شامل افراد بیشتری شود، شكر و سپاس برای جلال او نیز افزایش یابد.

¹⁶Therefore we don’t faint, but though our outward man is decaying, yet our inward man is renewed day by day.

¹⁶ بنابراین، امید خود را از دست نمی‌‌دهیم. اگرچه وجود ظاهری ما رفته رفته از بین می‌رود، وجود باطنی ما روزبه‌روز تازه‌تر می‌گردد.

¹⁷For our light affliction, which is for the moment, works for us more and more exceedingly an eternal weight of glory;

¹⁷ و این رنج و زحمت ناچیز و زودگذر، جلال عظیم و بی‌پایانی را كه غیرقابل مقایسه است برای ما فراهم می‌کند و در ضمن، ما به چیزهای نادیدنی چشم دوخته‌ایم نه به چیزهای دیدنی، زیرا آنچه به چشم می‌آید موقّتی است، ولی چیزهای نادیدنی تا ابد پایدارند.

¹⁸while we don’t look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporal, but the things which are not seen are eternal.

¹⁸ و در ضمن، ما به چیزهای نادیدنی چشم دوخته‌ایم نه به چیزهای دیدنی، زیرا آنچه به چشم می‌آید موقّتی است، ولی چیزهای نادیدنی تا ابد پایدارند.
