¹Now when the day of Pentecost had come, they were all with one accord in one place.

¹ وقتی روز پنتیكاست رسید، همهٔ ایمانداران با هم در یكجا جمع بودند.

²Suddenly there came from the sky a sound like the rushing of a mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.

² ناگهان صدایی شبیه وزش باد شدید از آسمان آمد و تمام خانه‌ای را كه در آن نشسته بودند، پر ساخت.

³Tongues like fire appeared and were distributed to them, and one sat on each of them.

³ در برابر چشم آنان زبانه‌هایی مانند زبانه‌های آتش ظاهر شد، كه از یكدیگر جدا گشته و بر هر یک از آنان قرار گرفت.

⁴They were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and began to speak with other languages, as the Spirit gave them the ability to speak.

⁴ همه از روح‌القدس پر گشتند و به طوری ‌كه روح به ایشان قدرت بیان بخشید، به زبانهای دیگر شروع به صحبت كردند.

⁵Now there were dwelling in Jerusalem Jews, devout men, from every nation under the sky.

⁵ در آن زمان یهودیان خداپرست از جمیع ملل زیر آسمان، در اورشلیم اقامت داشتند.

⁶When this sound was heard, the multitude came together, and were bewildered, because everyone heard them speaking in his own language.

⁶ وقتی آن صدا به گوش رسید، جمعیّت گرد آمدند و چون هرکس به زبان خود سخنان ایمانداران را شنید، همه غرق حیرت شدند

⁷They were all amazed and marveled, saying to one another, “Behold, aren’t all these who speak Galileans?

⁷ و در كمال تعجّب اظهار داشتند: «مگر همهٔ این کسانی‌که صحبت می‌کنند جلیلی نیستند؟

⁸How do we hear, everyone in our own native language?

⁸ پس چطور است كه هر یک از ما پیام آنان را به زبان خودمان می‌شنویم؟

⁹Parthians, Medes, Elamites, and people from Mesopotamia, Judea, Cappadocia, Pontus, Asia,

⁹ ما كه از پارتیان و مادیان و عیلامیان و اهالی بین‌النهرین و یهودیه و كپدوكیه و پنطس و استان آسیا

¹⁰Phrygia, Pamphylia, Egypt, the parts of Libya around Cyrene, visitors from Rome, both Jews and proselytes,

¹⁰ و فریجیه و پمفلیه و مصر و نواحی لیبی كه متّصل به قیروان است و زائران رومی،

¹¹Cretans and Arabians: we hear them speaking in our languages the mighty works of God!”

¹¹ هم یهودیان و هم آنانی كه دین یهود را پذیرفته‌‌اند، و اهالی كریت و عربستان هستیم، شرح كارهای بزرگ خدا را به زبان خودمان می‌شنویم.»

¹²They were all amazed, and were perplexed, saying one to another, “What does this mean?”

¹² همه حیران و سرگردان به یكدیگر می‌گفتند: «یعنی چه؟»

¹³Others, mocking, said, “They are filled with new wine.”

¹³ امّا بعضی مسخره‌كنان می‌گفتند: «اینها از شراب تازه مست شده‌اند.»

¹⁴But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and spoke out to them, “You men of Judea, and all you who dwell at Jerusalem, let this be known to you, and listen to my words.

¹⁴ امّا پطرس با آن یازده رسول برخاست و صدای خود را بلند كرد و خطاب به جماعت گفت: «ای یهودیان و ای ساكنان اورشلیم، توجّه كنید: بدانید و آگاه باشید كه

¹⁵For these aren’t drunken, as you suppose, seeing it is only the third hour of the day about 9:00 AM .

¹⁵ برخلاف تصوّر شما، این مردان مست نیستند؛ زیرا اکنون ساعت نُه صبح است.

¹⁶But this is what has been spoken through the prophet Joel:

¹⁶ بلكه این همان چیزی است كه یوئیل نبی گفت:

¹⁷‘It will be in the last days, says God, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh. Your sons and your daughters will prophesy. Your young men will see visions. Your old men will dream dreams.

¹⁷ 'خدا می‌فرماید در زمان آخر چنین خواهم كرد: از روح خود بر همهٔ مردم فرو خواهم ریخت و پسران و دختران شما نبوّت خواهند كرد و جوانان شما رؤیاها و پیران شما خوابها خواهند دید.

¹⁸Yes, and on my servants and on my handmaidens in those days, I will pour out my Spirit, and they will prophesy.

¹⁸ آری، حتّی بر غلامان و كنیزان خود در آن روزها از روح خود فرو خواهم ریخت و ایشان نبوّت خواهند كرد.

¹⁹I will show wonders in the sky above, and signs on the earth beneath; blood, and fire, and billows of smoke.

¹⁹ و در آسمان شگفتی‌ها و بر روی زمین نشانه‌هایی ظاهر خواهم نمود، یعنی خون، آتش و دود غلیظ.

²⁰The sun will be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and glorious day of the Lord comes.

²⁰ پیش از آمدن آن روز بزرگ و پر شكوه خداوند، خورشید تاریک خواهد شد و ماه رنگ خون خواهد گرفت

²¹It will be, that whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved.’ Joel 2:28-32

²¹ و چنان خواهد شد كه هرکه نام خداوند را بخواند نجات خواهد یافت.'

²²“Men of Israel, hear these words! Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved by God to you by mighty works and wonders and signs which God did by him in the midst of you, even as you yourselves know,

²² «ای مردان اسرائیلی به این سخنان گوش دهید. عیسای ناصری مردی بود، كه مأموریتش از جانب خدا به وسیلهٔ معجزات و شگفتی‌ها و نشانه‌هایی كه خدا توسط او در میان شما انجام داد، به ثبوت رسید، همان طوری که خود شما خوب می‌دانید.

²³him, being delivered up by the determined counsel and foreknowledge of God, you have taken by the hand of lawless men, crucified and killed;

²³ شما این مرد را، كه بر طبق نقشه و پیشدانی خدا به دست شما تسلیم شد، به وسیلهٔ كفار به صلیب میخكوب كردید و كشتید.

²⁴whom God raised up, having freed him from the agony of death, because it was not possible that he should be held by it.

²⁴ امّا خدا او را زنده كرد و از عذاب مرگ رهایی داد. زیرا محال بود، مرگ بتواند او را در چنگ خود نگه دارد.

²⁵For David says concerning him, ‘I saw the Lord always before my face, For he is on my right hand, that I should not be moved.

²⁵ داوود دربارهٔ او می‌فرماید: 'خداوند را همیشه پیش روی خود می‌دیدم زیرا او در دست راست من است تا لغزش نخورم.

²⁶Therefore my heart was glad, and my tongue rejoiced. Moreover my flesh also will dwell in hope;

²⁶ به این سبب دلم مسرور گردید و زبانم از شادمانی فریاد می‌کرد و بدن فانی من در امید ساكن خواهد شد،

²⁷because you will not leave my soul in Hades or, Hell , neither will you allow your Holy One to see decay.

²⁷ از آن‌رو كه جانم را در دنیای مردگان ترک نخواهی كرد و نمی‌گذاری كه بندهٔ امین تو فساد را ببیند.

²⁸You made known to me the ways of life. You will make me full of gladness with your presence.’ Psalm 16:8-11

²⁸ تو راههای حیات را به من شناسانیده‌ای و با حضور خود مرا از شادمانی پر خواهی كرد.'

²⁹“Brothers, I may tell you freely of the patriarch David, that he both died and was buried, and his tomb is with us to this day.

²⁹ «ای دوستان دربارهٔ جدّ ما داوود صریحاً باید بگویم كه او نه فقط مرد و به خاک سپرده شد، بلكه آرامگاه او نیز تا به امروز در میان ما باقی است.

³⁰Therefore, being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him that of the fruit of his body, according to the flesh, he would raise up the Christ to sit on his throne,

³⁰ و چون او نبی بود و می‌دانست كه خدا برای او سوگند یاد كرده است، كه از نسل او یک ‌نفر را بر تخت سلطنت بنشاند،

³¹he foreseeing this spoke about the resurrection of the Christ, that neither was his soul left in Hades or, Hell , nor did his flesh see decay.

³¹ از قبل، رستاخیز مسیح را پیش‌بینی نموده دربارهٔ آن گفت: 'او در دنیای مردگان ترک نشد و جسد او هرگز فاسد نگردید.'

³²This Jesus God raised up, to which we all are witnesses.

³² خدا همین عیسی را پس از مرگ زنده كرد و همهٔ ما بر آن گواه هستیم.

³³Being therefore exalted by the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, he has poured out this, which you now see and hear.

³³ حال كه عیسی به دست راست خدا بالا برده شده است، روح‌القدس موعود را از پدر یافته و به ما افاضه كرده است، شما این چیزها را می‌بینید و می‌شنوید.

³⁴For David didn’t ascend into the heavens, but he says himself, ‘The Lord said to my Lord, “Sit by my right hand,

³⁴ زیرا داوود به عالم بالا صعود نكرد امّا خود او می‌گوید: 'خداوند به خداوند من گفت: به دست راست من بنشین

³⁵until I make your enemies a footstool for your feet.”’ Psalm 110:1

³⁵ تا دشمنانت را زیر پای تو اندازم.'

³⁶“Let all the house of Israel therefore know certainly that God has made him both Lord and Christ, this Jesus whom you crucified.”

³⁶ «پس ای جمیع قوم اسرائیل، یقین بدانید كه خدا این عیسی را كه شما مصلوب كردید، خداوند و مسیح كرده است.»

³⁷Now when they heard this, they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Brothers, what shall we do?”

³⁷ وقتی آنها این را شنیدند دلهایشان جریحه‌دار شد و از پطرس و سایر رسولان پرسیدند: «ای برادران، تكلیف ما چیست؟»

³⁸Peter said to them, “Repent, and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

³⁸ پطرس به ایشان گفت: «توبه كنید و هر یک از ما برای آمرزش گناهانتان به نام عیسی مسیح غسل تعمید بگیرید كه روح‌القدس یعنی عطیهٔ خدا را خواهید یافت،

³⁹For the promise is to you, and to your children, and to all who are far off, even as many as the Lord our God will call to himself.”

³⁹ زیرا این وعده برای شما و فرزندان شما و برای كسانی است كه دور هستند، یعنی هرکه خداوند، خدای ما او را بخواند.»

⁴⁰With many other words he testified, and exhorted them, saying, “Save yourselves from this crooked generation!”

⁴⁰ پطرس با سخنان بسیار دیگر شهادت می‌داد و آنان را ترغیب می‌کرد و می‌گفت: «خود را از این اشخاص نادرست برهانید.»

⁴¹Then those who gladly received his word were baptized. There were added that day about three thousand souls.

⁴¹ پس کسانی‌که پیام او را پذیرفتند تعمید یافتند و در همان روز در حدود سه هزار نفر به ایشان پیوستند.

⁴²They continued steadfastly in the apostles’ teaching and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and prayer.

⁴² آنان همیشه وقت خود را با شنیدن تعالیم رسولان و مشاركت ایماندارن و پاره كردن نان و دعا می‌گذرانیدند.

⁴³Fear came on every soul, and many wonders and signs were done through the apostles.

⁴³ در اثر عجایب و نشانه‌های بسیاری كه توسط رسولان به عمل می‌آمد، خوف الهی برهمه چیره شده بود.

⁴⁴All who believed were together, and had all things in common.

⁴⁴ تمام ایمانداران با هم متّحد و در همه‌چیز شریک بودند.

⁴⁵They sold their possessions and goods, and distributed them to all, according as anyone had need.

⁴⁵ مال و دارایی خود را می‌فروختند و نسبت به احتیاج هرکس بین خود تقسیم می‌کردند.

⁴⁶Day by day, continuing steadfastly with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread at home, they took their food with gladness and singleness of heart,

⁴⁶ آنان هر روز در معبد بزرگ دور هم جمع می‌شدند و در خانه‌های خود نان را پاره می‌کردند و با دلخوشی و صمیمیّت با هم غذا می‌خوردند. خدا را حمد می‌کردند و مورد احترام همهٔ مردم بودند و خداوند هر روز كسانی را كه نجات می‌یافتند، به جمع ایشان می‌افزود.

⁴⁷praising God, and having favor with all the people. The Lord added to the assembly day by day those who were being saved.

⁴⁷ خدا را حمد می‌کردند و مورد احترام همهٔ مردم بودند و خداوند هر روز كسانی را كه نجات می‌یافتند، به جمع ایشان می‌افزود.
