¹At the end of every seven years you shall make a release.

¹ «در پایان هر هفت سال، باید وامهای بدهکاران خود را ببخشید.

²This is the way of the release: every creditor shall release that which he has lent to his neighbor; he shall not exact it of his neighbor and his brother; because Yahweh’s release has been proclaimed.

² هرکسی که از همسایهٔ اسرائیلی خود طلبی دارد، باید آن را ببخشد. او نباید وام خود را طلب کند، زیرا خود خداوند این قرض را لغو کرده است.

³Of a foreigner you may exact it: but whatever of your is with your brother your hand shall release.

³ اگر یک نفر بیگانه از شما قرض گرفته باشد، می‌توانید قرض خود را پس بگیرید؛ امّا هرگاه کسی از قوم خودتان به شما مقروض باشد، نباید آن را مطالبه کنید.

⁴However there shall be no poor with you; (for Yahweh will surely bless you in the land which Yahweh your God gives you for an inheritance to possess it;)

⁴ «پس در بین شما هیچ‌کسی نباید به چیزی محتاج باشد، چرا که خداوند خدایتان شما را در سرزمینی که به شما داده است، برکت خواهد داد و حتّی یک نفر از مردم شما فقیر نخواهد بود.

⁵if only you diligently listen to the voice of Yahweh your God, to observe to do all this commandment which I command you this day.

⁵ اگر از او اطاعت کنید و دستورهایی را که امروز داده‌ام به دقّت انجام دهید،

⁶For Yahweh your God will bless you, as he promised you: and you shall lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow; and you shall rule over many nations, but they shall not rule over you.

⁶ خداوند شما را طبق وعده‌اش برکت خواهد داد. شما به ملّتهای زیادی وام خواهید داد ولی مجبور نخواهید شد که از کسی قرض کنید. شما بر ملّتهای زیادی حکومت خواهید کرد امّا آنها بر شما حکومت نخواهند کرد.

⁷If a poor man, one of your brothers, is with you within any of your gates in your land which Yahweh your God gives you, you shall not harden your heart, nor shut your hand from your poor brother;

⁷ «اگر در سرزمینی که خداوند خدایتان به شما می‌دهد، در یکی از شهرهایش، اسرائیلی نیازمندی باشد، خودخواه نباشید و از کمک کردن به او کوتاهی نکنید.

⁸but you shall surely open your hand to him, and shall surely lend him sufficient for his need, which he lacks.

⁸ بلکه سخاوتمند باشید و به اندازهٔ نیازش به او وام بدهید.

⁹Beware that there not be a base thought in your heart, saying, “The seventh year, the year of release, is at hand”; and your eye be evil against your poor brother, and you give him nothing; and he cry to Yahweh against you, and it be sin to you.

⁹ از وام دادن به او به‌خاطر نزدیکی سالی که وامها بخشیده می‌شود خودداری نکنید. اجازه ندهید چنین فکر پلیدی به ذهن شما راه یابد. اگر شما از دادن وام خودداری کنید، او علیه شما به درگاه خداوند ناله می‌کند و شما گناهکار شناخته خواهید شد.

¹⁰You shall surely give him, and your heart shall not be grieved when you give to him; because that for this thing Yahweh your God will bless you in all your work, and in all that you put your hand to.

¹⁰ با سخاوت و بدون خودخواهی به او وام دهید و خداوند شما را در هر کاری برکت خواهد داد.

¹¹For the poor will never cease out of the land: therefore I command you, saying, You shall surely open your hand to your brother, to your needy, and to your poor, in your land.

¹¹ همیشه افراد تنگدست و نیازمند اسرائیلی خواهند بود، پس من به شما فرمان می‌دهم با آنها سخاوتمند باشید.

¹²If your brother, a Hebrew man, or a Hebrew woman, is sold to you, and serves you six years; then in the seventh year you shall let him go free from you.

¹² «هرگاه یک برادر یا خواهر اسرائیلی را بخرید، پس از شش سال خدمت، در سال هفتم باید او را آزاد کنید.

¹³When you let him go free from you, you shall not let him go empty:

¹³ هنگامی‌که او را آزاد می‌کنید، او را دست خالی نفرستید.

¹⁴you shall furnish him liberally out of your flock, and out of your threshing floor, and out of your winepress; as Yahweh your God has blessed you, you shall give to him.

¹⁴ با سخاوت از برکاتی مانند گوسفند، غلاّت و شراب، که خداوند به شما داده است به او بدهید.

¹⁵You shall remember that you were a bondservant in the land of Egypt, and Yahweh your God redeemed you: therefore I command you this thing today.

¹⁵ به یاد بیاورید که شما در مصر برده بودید و خداوند خدایتان شما را آزاد کرد و به همین دلیل است که به شما این فرمانها را می‌دهم.

¹⁶It shall be, if he tells you, “I will not go out from you”; because he loves you and your house, because he is well with you;

¹⁶ «امّا اگر او به شما بگوید که من نمی‌خواهم شما را ترک کنم، زیرا او شما و خانوادهٔ شما را دوست دارد،

¹⁷then you shall take an awl, and thrust it through his ear to the door, and he shall be your servant forever. Also to your female servant you shall do likewise.

¹⁷ آنگاه او را به دَم در ببرید و گوش او را با درفشی سوراخ کنید و بعد از آن او برای همیشه بردهٔ شما می‌باشد. با کنیزان خود نیز چنین رفتار کنید.

¹⁸It shall not seem hard to you, when you let him go free from you; for to the double of the hire of a hireling has he served you six years: and Yahweh your God will bless you in all that you do.

¹⁸ هنگامی‌که برد‌ه‌ای را آزاد می‌کنید، ناراحت نباشید؛ زیرا مدّت شش سال برای شما با نصف دستمزد یک کارگر استخدامی کار کرده است. این کار را انجام دهید و خداوند خدایتان شما را در همهٔ امور برکت خواهد داد.

¹⁹All the firstborn males that are born of your herd and of your flock you shall sanctify to Yahweh your God: you shall do no work with the firstborn of your herd, nor shear the firstborn of your flock.

¹⁹ «همهٔ نخستزاده‌گان نر گاو و گوسفند را وقف خداوند کنید. از این گاوها کار نکشید و پشم این گوسفندان را نچینید.

²⁰You shall eat it before Yahweh your God year by year in the place which Yahweh shall choose, you and your household.

²⁰ شما می‌توانید گوشت آنها را هر ساله با خانوادهٔ خود در حضور خداوند خدایتان در مکانی که خداوند برای پرستش خود برگزیده، بخورید.

²¹If it has any blemish, is lame or blind, or has any defect whatever, you shall not sacrifice it to Yahweh your God.

²¹ امّا اگر این حیوانات معیوب باشند، اگر کور و لنگ باشند یا هر عیب جدّی دیگری داشته باشند، شما نباید آنها را برای خداوند خدایتان قربانی کنید.

²²You shall eat it within your gates: the unclean and the clean shall eat it alike, as the gazelle, and as the hart.

²² همهٔ شما می‌توانید این حیوانات را در خانه‌های خود بخورید، چه پاک یا ناپاک باشید. همان‌طور که گوشت آهو یا غزال، را می‌خورید. امّا خون آنها را نباید بخورید بلکه آن را مثل آب بر زمین بریزید.

²³Only you shall not eat its blood; you shall pour it out on the ground as water.

²³ امّا خون آنها را نباید بخورید بلکه آن را مثل آب بر زمین بریزید.
