¹You shall not see your brother’s ox or his sheep go astray, and hide yourself from them: you shall surely bring them again to your brother.

¹ «اگر گاو یا گوسفند یکی از همسایگان اسرائیلی خود را ببینید که سرگردان است، بی‌اعتنا نباشید؛ بلکه آن را به صاحبش بازگردانید.

²If your brother isn’t near to you, or if you don’t know him, then you shall bring it home to your house, and it shall be with you until your brother seek after it, and you shall restore it to him.

² اگر صاحب آن در نزدیکی شما سکونت نداشته باشد و یا ندانید که صاحبش کیست، آن وقت آن را به خانهٔ خود ببرید و وقتی‌که صاحبش پیدا شد، آن را به او بازگردانید.

³So you shall do with his donkey; and so you shall do with his garment; and so you shall do with every lost thing of your brother’s, which he has lost, and you have found: you may not hide yourself.

³ همین کار را در مورد الاغ، لباس و یا هر چیز دیگری که همسایهٔ اسرائیلی شما گُم کرده باشد، انجام دهید.

⁴You shall not see your brother’s donkey or his ox fallen down by the way, and hide yourself from them: you shall surely help him to lift them up again.

⁴ «اگر الاغ یا گاو همسایهٔ اسرائیلی شما افتاده است، بی‌اعتنا نباشید، به او کمک کنید تا حیوان را بلند کند.

⁵A woman shall not wear men’s clothing, neither shall a man put on women’s clothing; for whoever does these things is an abomination to Yahweh your God.

⁵ «زن نباید لباس مردانه بپوشد و نه مرد لباس زنانه به تن کند؛ زیرا خداوند خدایتان از این کار نفرت دارد.

⁶If a bird’s nest chance to be before you in the way, in any tree or on the ground, with young ones or eggs, and the hen sitting on the young, or on the eggs, you shall not take the hen with the young:

⁶ «وقتی آشیانهٔ پرند‌ه‌ای را بالای درخت یا روی زمین می‌بینید که پرنده یا روی تخمها نشسته و یا در کنار جوجه‌هایش می‌باشد، مادر را همراه جوجه‌هایش نگیرید.

⁷you shall surely let the hen go, but the young you may take to yourself; that it may be well with you, and that you may prolong your days.

⁷ مادر را رها کنید که برود، تنها جوجه‌هایش را برای خود بگیرید. به این ترتیب زندگی طولانی و کامیابی خواهید داشت.

⁸When you build a new house, then you shall make a battlement for your roof, that you don’t bring blood on your house, if any man fall from there.

⁸ «هنگامی‌که خانهٔ نو می‌سازید، مطمئن باشید که در لبهٔ بام خانه نرده بگذارید تا اگر کسی از آنجا افتاد و مرد، شما مسئول نباشید.

⁹You shall not sow your vineyard with two kinds of seed, lest the whole fruit be forfeited, the seed which you have sown, and the increase of the vineyard.

⁹ «در تاکستان خود هیچ بذر دیگری نکارید، اگر چنین کنید، از هیچ‌یک از آنها نباید استفاده کنید.

¹⁰You shall not plow with an ox and a donkey together.

¹⁰ «برای شخم زدن، گاو و الاغ را در یک یوغ نبندید.

¹¹You shall not wear a mixed stuff, wool and linen together.

¹¹ «لباسی را که از مخلوط پشم و نخ بافته شده باشد، نپوشید.

¹²You shall make yourselves fringes or, tassles on the four borders of your cloak, with which you cover yourself.

¹² «در چهار گوشهٔ لباس خود منگوله بدوزید.

¹³If any man takes a wife, and goes in to her, and hates her,

¹³ «ممکن است مردی با دختری ازدواج کند و بعداً تصمیم بگیرد که او را نمی‌خواهد

¹⁴and accuses her of shameful things, and brings up an evil name on her, and says, “I took this woman, and when I came near to her, I didn’t find in her the tokens of virginity”;

¹⁴ و او را به دروغ متّهم کند که در زمان ازدواج باکره نبوده است.

¹⁵then shall the father of the young lady, and her mother, take and bring forth the tokens of the young lady’s virginity to the elders of the city in the gate;

¹⁵ «آنگاه پدر و مادر دختر باید مدرک بکارت دختر را نزد رهبران در دروازهٔ شهر بیاورند.

¹⁶and the young lady’s father shall tell the elders, “I gave my daughter to this man to wife, and he hates her;

¹⁶ آنگاه پدر دختر بگوید: 'من دخترم را به این مرد دادم تا همسر او باشد، امّا حالا او را نمی‌خواهد.

¹⁷and behold, he has accused her of shameful things, saying, ‘I didn’t find in your daughter the tokens of virginity;’ and yet these are the tokens of my daughter’s virginity.” They shall spread the cloth before the elders of the city.

¹⁷ به او تهمت ناروا زده است و گفته در زمان ازدواج او باکره نبوده است. امّا این مدرک بکارت دختر من است، به این لکه‌های خون روی ملافه عروسی نگاه کنید.'

¹⁸The elders of that city shall take the man and chastise him;

¹⁸ آنگاه رهبران شهر باید مرد را بگیرند و تازیانه بزنند.

¹⁹and they shall fine him one hundred shekels of silver, and give them to the father of the young lady, because he has brought up an evil name on a virgin of Israel: and she shall be his wife; he may not put her away all his days.

¹⁹ و معادل یکصد تکه نقره جریمه‌اش کنند و این جریمه باید به پدر دختر پرداخت شود، زیرا او به یک دختر باکرهٔ اسرائیلی تهمت زده است. آن زن همسر او باقی بماند و تا زمانی که آن مرد زنده است، اجازه ندارد او را طلاق بدهد.

²⁰But if this thing be true, that the tokens of virginity were not found in the young lady;

²⁰ «امّا اگر اتّهامات مرد حقیقت داشته و مدرکی که بکارت آن زن را ثابت کند وجود نداشته باشد،

²¹then they shall bring out the young lady to the door of her father’s house, and the men of her city shall stone her to death with stones, because she has done folly in Israel, to play the prostitute in her father’s house: so you shall put away the evil from the midst of you.

²¹ آنگاه رهبران شهر باید زن را به درِ خانهٔ پدرش ببرند و مردان شهر باید او را سنگسار کنند تا بمیرد. او با داشتن روابط نامشروع، هنگامی‌که هنوز در خانهٔ پدر خود بوده، در میان قوم اسرائیل به کار شرم‌آوری دست زده است. به این ترتیب از این شرارت پاک می‌شوید.

²²If a man be found lying with a woman married to a husband, then they shall both of them die, the man who lay with the woman, and the woman: so you shall put away the evil from Israel.

²² «اگر مردی در حال زنا با یک زن شوهردار دیده شود، باید آن مرد و زن هر دو به قتل برسند. به این ترتیب اسرائیل از شرارت پاک می‌شود.

²³If there is a young lady who is a virgin pledged to be married to a husband, and a man find her in the city, and lie with her;

²³ «اگر مردی در شهر با دختر باکر‌ه‌ای که نامزد شده است زنا کند،

²⁴then you shall bring them both out to the gate of that city, and you shall stone them to death with stones; the lady, because she didn’t cry, being in the city; and the man, because he has humbled his neighbor’s wife: so you shall put away the evil from the midst of you.

²⁴ باید آنها را به خارج دروازه ببرید و سنگسار کنید تا بمیرند. دختر باید بمیرد، زیرا با وجودی که در شهر بود و صدایش شنیده می‌شد، برای کمک فریاد نکرد و مرد به‌خاطر زنا با نامزد مردی دیگر باید بمیرد. به این ترتیب از این شرارت پاک می‌شوید.

²⁵But if the man find the lady who is pledged to be married in the field, and the man force her, and lie with her; then the man only who lay with her shall die:

²⁵ «امّا اگر مردی در خارج شهر به ناموس دختری که نامزد شخص دیگری است تجاوز کند، آنگاه باید فقط آن مرد متجاوز کشته شود

²⁶but to the lady you shall do nothing; there is in the lady no sin worthy of death: for as when a man rises against his neighbor, and kills him, even so is this matter;

²⁶ و با آن دختر کاری نداشته باشید، زیرا او کاری نکرده است که مستحق مرگ باشد. کار این مرد مثل آن است که کسی به شخصی حمله کند و او را به قتل برساند.

²⁷for he found her in the field, the pledged to be married lady cried, and there was none to save her.

²⁷ چون مرد متجاوز او را در بیابان یافت گرچه دختر برای کمک فریاد کرد، کسی نبود که به او کمک کند.

²⁸If a man find a lady who is a virgin, who is not pledged to be married, and lay hold on her, and lie with her, and they be found;

²⁸ «اگر مردی به یک دختری که نامزد نباشد، تجاوز کند و در حال انجام این کار دستگیر شود،

²⁹then the man who lay with her shall give to the lady’s father fifty shekels of silver, and she shall be his wife, because he has humbled her; he may not put her away all his days.

²⁹ آن مرد متجاوز باید به پدر دختر پنجاه تکه نقره بپردازد و با آن دختر ازدواج کند چون او، آن دختر را بی‌‌حرمت ساخته است. هرگز اجازه ندارد که او را طلاق بدهد. «هیچ مردی نباید به حق پدر خود تجاوز کرده و با یکی از زنان وی همبستر شود.

³⁰A man shall not take his father’s wife, and shall not uncover his father’s skirt.

³⁰ «هیچ مردی نباید به حق پدر خود تجاوز کرده و با یکی از زنان وی همبستر شود.
