¹Moses and the elders of Israel commanded the people, saying, “Keep all the commandment which I command you this day.

¹ آنگاه موسی و رهبران اسرائیل به مردم چنین دستور دادند و گفتند: «تمام فرمانهایی را که امروز صادر می‌کنم، بجا آورید.

²It shall be on the day when you shall pass over the Jordan to the land which Yahweh your God gives you, that you shall set yourself up great stones, and plaster them with plaster:

² در روزی که از رود اردن عبور می‌کنید تا وارد سرزمینی که خداوند به شما داده است، بشوید. شما باید سنگهای بزرگ برپا کنید و روی آنها را گچ بگیرید.

³and you shall write on them all the words of this law, when you have passed over; that you may go in to the land which Yahweh your God gives you, a land flowing with milk and honey, as Yahweh, the God of your fathers, has promised you.

³ وقتی وارد سرزمینی که خداوند به شما داده است، می‌شوید سرزمینی که غنی و حاصلخیز است، سرزمینی که خداوند خدای اجدادتان به شما وعده داده بود، روی آن سنگها تمام این تعالیم و قوانین را بنویسید.

⁴It shall be, when you have passed over the Jordan, that you shall set up these stones, which I command you this day, in Mount Ebal, and you shall plaster them with plaster.

⁴ هنگامی‌که از رود اردن گذشتید همان‌طور که امروز فرمان می‌دهم این سنگها را در کوه عیبال برپا کنید و روی آنها را گچ بگیرید.

⁵There you shall build an altar to Yahweh your God, an altar of stones: you shall lift up no iron on them.

⁵ در آنجا قربانگاهی برای خداوند خدایتان از سنگ، بدون استفاده از ابزار فلزی بسازید.

⁶You shall build the altar of Yahweh your God of uncut stones; and you shall offer burnt offerings thereon to Yahweh your God:

⁶ زیرا هر قربانگاهی که برای خداوند خدایتان می‌سازید، باید از سنگ نتراشیده باشد. در آنجا شما باید برای خداوند خدایتان قربانی‌های سوختنی تقدیم کنید.

⁷and you shall sacrifice peace offerings, and shall eat there; and you shall rejoice before Yahweh your God.

⁷ همچنین قربانی‌های سلامتی تقدیم کنید و در آنجا در حضور خداوند بخورید و شادمانی کنید.

⁸You shall write on the stones all the words of this law very plainly.”

⁸ احکام خدا را با خط واضح بر آن سنگها بنویسید.»

⁹Moses and the priests the Levites spoke to all Israel, saying, “Keep silence, and listen, Israel: this day you have become the people of Yahweh your God.

⁹ بعد موسی و کاهنان به مردم گفتند: «ای قوم اسرائیل، توجّه کنید و بشنوید! امروز شما قوم خداوند خدایتان شدید.

¹⁰You shall therefore obey the voice of Yahweh your God, and do his commandments and his statutes, which I command you this day.”

¹⁰ پس از خداوند خدایتان اطاعت کنید و احکام و قوانین او را که امروز به شما می‌دهم بجا آورید.»

¹¹Moses commanded the people the same day, saying,

¹¹ در همان روز موسی به قوم اسرائیل دستور داد و گفت:

¹²“These shall stand on Mount Gerizim to bless the people, when you have passed over the Jordan: Simeon, and Levi, and Judah, and Issachar, and Joseph, and Benjamin.

¹² «وقتی از رود اردن عبور کردید، طایفه‌های شمعون، لاوی، یهودا، یساکار، یوسف و بنیامین بالای کوه جرزیم بایستند و برکات را اعلام کنند.

¹³These shall stand on Mount Ebal for the curse: Reuben, Gad, and Asher, and Zebulun, Dan, and Naphtali.

¹³ طایفه‌های رئوبین، جاد، اشیر، زبولون، دان و نفتالی بر کوه عیبال بایستند و لعنتها را بیان کنند.

¹⁴The Levites shall answer, and tell all the men of Israel with a loud voice,

¹⁴ آنگاه لاویان با آواز بلند، به تمام قوم اسرائیل اعلام کنند و بگویند:

¹⁵‘Cursed is the man who makes an engraved or molten image, an abomination to Yahweh, the work of the hands of the craftsman, and sets it up in secret.’ All the people shall answer and say, ‘Amen.’

¹⁵ «لعنت بر آن کسی‌که بُتی از سنگ، چوب و یا فلز بسازد و مخفیانه آن را پرستش کند. خداوند از بت‌پرستی نفرت دارد. همهٔ مردم بگویند: 'آمین!'

¹⁶‘Cursed is he who sets light by his father or his mother.’ All the people shall say, ‘Amen.’

¹⁶ «لعنت بر آن کسی‌که به والدین خود بی‌احترامی‌ کند. همهٔ مردم بگویند: 'آمین!'

¹⁷‘Cursed is he who removes his neighbor’s landmark.’ All the people shall say, ‘Amen.’

¹⁷ «لعنت بر آن کسی‌که حدود بین زمین خود و همسایه‌اش را تغییر بدهد. همهٔ مردم بگویند: 'آمین!'

¹⁸‘Cursed is he who makes the blind to wander out of the way.’ All the people shall say, ‘Amen.’

¹⁸ «لعنت بر آن کسی‌که شخص نابینایی را از راه منحرف سازد. همهٔ مردم بگویند: 'آمین!'

¹⁹‘Cursed is he who the foreigner, fatherless, and widow of justice.’ All the people shall say, ‘Amen.’

¹⁹ «لعنت بر آن کسی‌که در مورد بیگانگان، یتیمان و بیوه زنان بی‌عدالتی کند. همهٔ مردم بگویند: 'آمین!'

²⁰‘Cursed is he who lies with his father’s wife, because he has uncovered his father’s skirt.’ All the people shall say, ‘Amen.’

²⁰ «لعنت بر آن کسی‌که با زن پدر خود همبستر شود، زیرا به پدر خود بی‌حرمتی کرده است. همهٔ مردم بگویند: 'آمین!'

²¹‘Cursed is he who lies with any kind of animal.’ All the people shall say, ‘Amen.’

²¹ «لعنت بر آن کسی‌که با حیوانی رابطهٔ جنسی داشته باشد. همهٔ مردم بگویند: 'آمین!'

²²‘Cursed is he who lies with his sister, the daughter of his father, or the daughter of his mother.’ All the people shall say, ‘Amen.’

²² «لعنت بر آن کسی‌که با خواهر خود، چه تنی و چه ناتنی، همبستر شود. همهٔ مردم بگویند: 'آمین!'

²³‘Cursed is he who lies with his mother-in-law.’ All the people shall say, ‘Amen.’

²³ «لعنت بر آن کسی‌که با مادر زن خود همبستر شود. همهٔ مردم بگویند: 'آمین!'

²⁴‘Cursed is he who strikes his neighbor in secret.’ All the people shall say, ‘Amen.’

²⁴ «لعنت بر آن کسی‌که مخفیانه مرتکب قتل شود. همهٔ مردم بگویند: 'آمین!'

²⁵‘Cursed is he who takes a bribe to kill an innocent person.’ All the people shall say, ‘Amen.’

²⁵ «لعنت بر آن کسی‌که رشوه بگیرد تا خون بی‌گناهی را بریزد. همهٔ مردم بگویند: 'آمین!' «لعنت بر آن کسی‌که از احکام و قوانین خداوند اطاعت نکند. همهٔ مردم بگویند: 'آمین!'

²⁶‘Cursed is he who doesn’t confirm the words of this law to do them.’ All the people shall say, ‘Amen.’”

²⁶ «لعنت بر آن کسی‌که از احکام و قوانین خداوند اطاعت نکند. همهٔ مردم بگویند: 'آمین!'
