¹Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus through the will of God, to the saints who are at Ephesus, and the faithful in Christ Jesus:

¹ از طرف پولس كه به ارادهٔ خدا، رسول مسیح عیسی است به مقدّسین در شهر افسس كه در اتّحاد خود با مسیح عیسی وفادارند.

²Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

² فیض و آرامش پدر ما خدا و عیسی مسیح خداوند با شما باد.

³Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ;

³ خدا و پدر خداوند ما عیسی مسیح را سپاس گوییم، زیرا او ما را در اتّحاد با مسیح از همهٔ بركات روحانی در قلمرو آسمانی بهره‌مند ساخته است.

⁴even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we would be holy and without blemish before him in love;

⁴ خدا ما را قبل از آفرینش دنیا در مسیح برگزید تا در پیشگاه او مقدّس و بی‌عیب باشیم. به سبب محبّت خود

⁵having predestined us for adoption as children through Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his desire,

⁵ و بر حسب صلاحدید ارادهٔ خویش، برای ما مقدّر فرمود كه به وسیلهٔ عیسی مسیح فرزندان او شویم.

⁶to the praise of the glory of his grace, by which he freely bestowed favor on us in the Beloved,

⁶ تا خدا را برای فیض پر شكوه او كه به رایگان در پسر عزیز خود به ما بخشیده است، سپاس گوییم.

⁷in whom we have our redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace,

⁷ از راه اتّحاد با مسیح و به وسیلهٔ خون اوست كه ما رهایی یافته، و گناهان ما بخشیده شد و چقدر عظیم است آن فیضی كه خدا

⁸which he made to abound toward us in all wisdom and prudence,

⁸ به فراوانی به ما بخشیده است.

⁹making known to us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he purposed in him

⁹ خدا آنچه را كه منظور نظرش بود، به عمل آورد و نقشهٔ نهان خود را كه قبلاً در شخص مسیح تحقّق یافته بود، با دانش و بینش بر ما آشكار ساخته است

¹⁰to an administration of the fullness of the times, to sum up all things in Christ, the things in the heavens, and the things on the earth, in him;

¹⁰ كه در وقت معیّن نقشهٔ او عملی شود و كلّیهٔ كاینات یعنی همهٔ چیزهایی كه در آسمان و زمین هستند، تحت فرمان مسیح با هم جمع شوند.

¹¹in whom also we were assigned an inheritance, having been foreordained according to the purpose of him who works all things after the counsel of his will;

¹¹ خدایی كه همه‌چیز را بر طبق اراده و نقشهٔ خود انجام می‌دهد، ما را انتخاب كرد تا از آنِ او بشویم. زیرا ما را از ازل بر طبق ارادهٔ خویش برگزیده بود.

¹²to the end that we should be to the praise of his glory, we who had before hoped in Christ:

¹² پس ما كه اولین افرادی بودیم كه به مسیح امیدوار شدیم، باید بزرگی خدا را بستاییم.

¹³in whom you also, having heard the word of the truth, the Good News of your salvation—in whom, having also believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise,

¹³ شما نیز وقتی پیام حقیقت یعنی مژدهٔ نجات خود را شنیدید و به او ایمان آوردید، با او متّحد شدید و خدا با اعطای روح‌القدس، كه قبلاً وعده داده بود مهر مالكیّت خود را بر شما نهاده است.

¹⁴who is a pledge of our inheritance, to the redemption of God’s own possession, to the praise of his glory.

¹⁴ روح خدا ضامن آن است كه ما آنچه را او به قوم خود وعده داده است، خواهیم یافت و به ما اطمینان می‌دهد كه خدا به متعلّقان خود آزادی كامل خواهد بخشید، پس جلال و شكوه خدا را بستاییم.

¹⁵For this cause I also, having heard of the faith in the Lord Jesus which is among you, and the love which you have toward all the saints,

¹⁵ به این سبب، اكنون كه از ایمان شما به عیسی خداوند و محبّت شما نسبت به همهٔ مقدّسین باخبر شده‌ام،

¹⁶don’t cease to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers,

¹⁶ از سپاسگزاری به درگاه خدا به‌خاطر شما باز نمی‌ایستم و شما را در دعاهایم به‌یاد می‌آورم.

¹⁷that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him;

¹⁷ من دعا می‌کنم، آن خدایی كه عیسی مسیح خداوند، او را به ما شناسانید -‌آن پدر پُر جلال- روح حكمت و الهام به شما عطا فرماید تا او را کاملاً بشناسید.

¹⁸having the eyes of your hearts TR reads “understanding” instead of “hearts” enlightened, that you may know what is the hope of his calling, and what are the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,

¹⁸ و از او می‌خواهم كه چشمان دل شما را روشن سازد تا به چگونگی امیدی كه خدا شما را به آن دعوت كرده است و به ثروتمندی و شكوه بهره‌ای كه خدا به مقدّسین خود وعده داده است

¹⁹and what is the exceeding greatness of his power toward us who believe, according to that working of the strength of his might

¹⁹ و به عظمت بی‌قیاس قدرت او، كه در ما ایمانداران در كار است، پی ببرید.

²⁰which he worked in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and made him to sit at his right hand in the heavenly places,

²⁰ این همان قدرت عظیمی است كه خدا بكار برد، وقتی مسیح را پس از مرگ زنده گردانید و در دست راست خود، در جایهای آسمانی قرار داد

²¹far above all rule, and authority, and power, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age, but also in that which is to come.

²¹ و او را بالاتر از هر سلطه، اقتدار، قدرت، پادشاهی و هر مقام دیگر كه بتوان ذكر كرد، نه تنها در این دنیا بلكه در دنیای آینده نیز، قرار داد.

²²He put all things in subjection under his feet, and gave him to be head over all things for the assembly,

²² خدا همه‌چیز را زیر پای مسیح نهاد و به‌خاطر كلیسا، او را بالاتر از هر چیز قرار داد. كلیسایی كه بدن اوست و تمام وجود او را دربر می‌گیرد و در عین حال تمام كاینات را با حضور خود پُر می‌سازد.

²³which is his body, the fullness of him who fills all in all.
