¹For this cause I, Paul, am the prisoner of Christ Jesus on behalf of you Gentiles,

¹ به این سبب است كه من پولس، زندانی مسیح عیسی به‌خاطر شما غیر یهودیان، به درگاه خدا برایتان دعا می‌کنم.

²if it is so that you have heard of the administration of that grace of God which was given me toward you;

² حتماً خبر دارید كه خدا فیض خود را به من عنایت كرده و از من خواسته است كه آن را برای شما بكار برم.

³how that by revelation the mystery was made known to me, as I wrote before in few words,

³ از راه الهام بود كه این نقشهٔ اسرارآمیز خدا بر من آشكار گردید. (من قبلاً به طور مختصر دربارهٔ آن نوشته‌ام

⁴by which, when you read, you can perceive my understanding in the mystery of Christ;

⁴ و اگر آنچه را كه نوشته‌ام بخوانید، خواهید فهمید كه من تا چه اندازه به راز مسیح پی‌برده‌ام.)

⁵which in other generations was not made known to the children of men, as it has now been revealed to his holy apostles and prophets in the Spirit;

⁵ این راز به طوری که اكنون به وسیلهٔ روح‌القدس برای رسولان و انبیای مقدّس خدا آشكار شده است، در قرنهای گذشته برای بشر روشن نبود

⁶that the Gentiles are fellow heirs, and fellow members of the body, and fellow partakers of his promise in Christ Jesus through the Good News,

⁶ و آن حقیقت پوشیده این است كه غیر یهودیان از راه انجیل با یهودیان هم‌ارث و با هم اعضای یک بدن و در وعده‌ای كه خدا در مسیح عیسی به ما داده است، شریک و سهیم هستند.

⁷of which I was made a servant, according to the gift of that grace of God which was given me according to the working of his power.

⁷ من طبق عطیهٔ فیض خدا و در اثر فعالیّت قدرت او، خدمتگزار انجیل شدم.

⁸To me, the very least of all saints, was this grace given, to preach to the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ,

⁸ آری، من اگرچه در بین مقدّسین از همه كمترم، امّا این فیض به من عطا شد تا بتوانم بشارتِ ثروتِ بی‌قیاسِ مسیح را به ملل غیر یهود برسانم

⁹and to make all men see what is the administration TR reads “fellowship” instead of “administration” of the mystery which for ages has been hidden in God, who created all things through Jesus Christ;

⁹ و به همه نشان دهم كه چگونه نقشهٔ خدا به مورد اجرا گذارده می‌شود. خدا كه آفرینندهٔ همه‌چیز است، این راز خود را طی زمانهای گذشته پوشیده نگاه داشت،

¹⁰to the intent that now through the assembly the manifold wisdom of God might be made known to the principalities and the powers in the heavenly places,

¹⁰ تا اینکه در حال حاضر، خدا جنبه‌های گوناگون حکمت خود را به وسیلهٔ كلیسا به قدرتها و حكمرانان عالم آسمانی بشناساند.

¹¹according to the eternal purpose which he purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord;

¹¹ این نقشه طبق آن هدف ازلی بود كه خدا آن را در شخص خداوند ما، مسیح عیسی، عملی ساخته است.

¹²in whom we have boldness and access in confidence through our faith in him.

¹² ما به وسیلهٔ اتّحاد خود با او و همچنین از راه ایمان می‌توانیم با اطمینان كامل به حضور خدا بیاییم.

¹³Therefore I ask that you may not lose heart at my troubles for you, which are your glory.

¹³ پس من از شما تقاضا می‌کنم از رنجهایی كه به‌خاطر شما می‌کشم، مأیوس نباشید، زیرا اینها باید مایهٔ افتخار شما باشد.

¹⁴For this cause, I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,

¹⁴ بنابراین، من در برابر پدری زانو می‌زنم كه

¹⁵from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named,

¹⁵ هر خانواده در آسمان و زمین نام خود را از او گرفته است

¹⁶that he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, that you may be strengthened with power through his Spirit in the inward man;

¹⁶ و دعا می‌کنم كه از گنجهای جلال خود به شما ببخشد تا به وسیلهٔ روح او در درون خود قوی و نیرومند شوید،

¹⁷that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; to the end that you, being rooted and grounded in love,

¹⁷ و خدا عطا فرماید كه مسیح از راه ایمان شما در قلبهایتان ساكن شود و دعا می‌کنم كه شما در محبّت ریشه دوانیده و برپایهٔ محبّت بنا شوید

¹⁸may be strengthened to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth,

¹⁸ تا با همهٔ مقدّسین قدرت داشته باشید به پهنا و درازا و بلندی و عمق محبّت مسیح پی ببرید

¹⁹and to know Christ’s love which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.

¹⁹ و آن محبّت را دریابید (اگرچه بالاتر از فهم بشر است) تا از پُری كامل خدا کاملاً پر شوید.

²⁰Now to him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us,

²⁰ جلال بر خدایی باد كه قادر است به وسیلهٔ آن قدرتی كه در ما كار می‌کند، خیلی بیشتر از آنچه ما بخواهیم و حتّی تصوّر كنیم عمل كند. بر او نسلاً بعد نسل تا به ابد در كلیسا و در مسیح عیسی جلال باد، آمین.

²¹to him be the glory in the assembly and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever. Amen.
