¹Now it happened in the thirtieth year, in the fourth month, in the fifth of the month, as I was among the captives by the river Chebar, that the heavens were opened, and I saw visions of God The Hebrew word rendered “God” is “Elohim.” .

¹ در روز پنجم ماه چهارم از سال سی‌ام، که پنج سال از تبعیدِ یهویاکین پادشاه می‌گذشت، من حزقیال کاهن، پسر بوزی با سایر تبعیدشدگان یهودی در کنار رود خابور در بابل زندگی می‌کردم. در همان روز ناگهان آسمان باز شد و خدا رؤیاهایی را به من نشان داد.

²In the fifth of the month, which was the fifth year of king Jehoiachin’s captivity,

² در آنجا، در کنار رود خابور، واقع در بابل، وقتی خداوند با من حرف زد نیروی او را در وجود خود احساس كردم.

³the word of Yahweh “Yahweh” is God’s proper Name, sometimes rendered “LORD” (all caps) in other translations. came expressly to Ezekiel the priest, the son of Buzi, in the land of the Chaldeans by the river Chebar; and the hand of Yahweh was there on him.

³ به بالا نگاه کردم و دیدم که توفانی از طرف شمال می‌آمد. پیشاپیش آن، ابر بزرگی حرکت می‌کرد و هاله‌ای از نور دور آن بود. در وسط آن یک شیء برنزی، روشن و تابان بود.

⁴I looked, and behold, a stormy wind came out of the north, a great cloud, with flashing lightning, and a brightness around it, and out of its midst as it were glowing metal, out of the midst of the fire.

⁴ در وسط ابر چهار موجود زنده را دیدم که به انسان شباهت داشتند،

⁵Out of its midst came the likeness of four living creatures. This was their appearance: they had the likeness of a man.

⁵ امّا هر کدام از آنها دارای چهار صورت و چهار بال بود.

⁶Everyone had four faces, and each one of them had four wings.

⁶ پاهایشان راست و کف پایشان به سُم گوساله شباهت داشت و مثل یک شیء برنزی، صیقلی و برّاق بود.

⁷Their feet were straight feet; and the sole of their feet was like the sole of a calf’s foot; and they sparkled like burnished brass.

⁷ در زیر بالهای خود دستهایی شبیه دست انسان داشتند.

⁸They had the hands of a man under their wings on their four sides; and the four of them had their faces and their wings thus:

⁸ نوک بالهای آن چهار جانور با یکدیگر تماس داشت و بدون اینکه بچرخند، مستقیماً پرواز می‌کردند.

⁹their wings were joined one to another; they didn’t turn when they went; each one went straight forward.

⁹ هریک از آنها چهار روی مختلف داشت: در جلو چهرهٔ انسان، در طرف راست شکل شیر، در طرف چپ شکل گاو و در عقب شکل عقاب.

¹⁰As for the likeness of their faces, they had the face of a man; and the four of them had the face of a lion on the right side; and the four of them had the face of an ox on the left side; the four of them also had the face of an eagle.

¹⁰ هر کدام دو جفت بال داشت. یک جفت آن باز بود و نوک آنها با دو بال جانور پهلویش تماس داشت. جفت دیگر بدنشان را می‌پوشاند.

¹¹Such were their faces. Their wings were spread out above. Two wings of each one touched another, and two covered their bodies.

¹¹ آنها مستقیماً حرکت می‌کردند و هر جایی که دلشان می‌خواست می‌رفتند، بدون اینکه بچرخند.

¹²Each one went straight forward: where the spirit was to go, they went; they didn’t turn when they went.

¹² در بین این موجودات چیزی چون مشعلی فروزان بود که دایماً در حال حرکت بود. آتش شعله‌ور می‌شد و از آن برق می‌جهید.

¹³As for the likeness of the living creatures, their appearance was like burning coals of fire, like the appearance of torches: the fire went up and down among the living creatures; and the fire was bright, and out of the fire went forth lightning.

¹³ این موجودات با سرعت برق جلو و عقب می‌رفتند.

¹⁴The living creatures ran and returned as the appearance of a flash of lightning.

¹⁴ در همان حالی که متوجّه آن چهار موجود زنده بودم، چهار چرخ بر زمین و پهلوی هریک از آن موجودات دیدم.

¹⁵Now as I saw the living creatures, behold, one wheel on the earth beside the living creatures, for each of the four faces of it.

¹⁵ چرخها همه یکسان و مثل زِبَرجد، برّاق بودند. در وسط هر چرخ یک چرخ دیگر قرار داشت.

¹⁶The appearance of the wheels and their work was like a beryl: and the four of them had one likeness; and their appearance and their work was as it were a wheel within a wheel.

¹⁶ به این ترتیب به هر طرف که می‌خواستند، می‌توانستند حرکت کنند بدون اینکه دور بزنند.

¹⁷When they went, they went in their four directions: they didn’t turn when they went.

¹⁷ حلقهٔ دور چرخها بلند و مهیب و پُر از چشم بود.

¹⁸As for their rims, they were high and dreadful; and the four of them had their rims full of eyes all around.

¹⁸ هنگامی‌که موجودات زنده حرکت می‌کردند چرخها در کنارشان حرکت می‌کردند و هنگامی‌که موجودات زنده از روی زمین برمی‌خاستند، چرخها نیز برمی‌خاستند.

¹⁹When the living creatures went, the wheels went beside them; and when the living creatures were lifted up from the earth, the wheels were lifted up.

¹⁹ هر کجا که روح می‌رفت، ایشان می‌رفتند و چرخها همراه ایشان بلند می‌شدند، زیرا روح آن موجودات زنده در چرخها بود.

²⁰Wherever the spirit was to go, they went; there was the spirit to go: and the wheels were lifted up beside them; for the spirit of the living creature was in the wheels.

²⁰ پس هرگاه موجودات حرکت می‌کردند یا می‌ایستادند یا به هوا برمی‌خاستند، چرخها نیز دقیقاً همان کار را می‌کردند.

²¹When those went, these went; and when those stood, these stood; and when those were lifted up from the earth, the wheels were lifted up beside them: for the spirit of the living creature was in the wheels.

²¹ بالای سر موجودات زنده چیزی مانند گنبد درخشندهٔ بلورین بود.

²²Over the head of the living creature there was the likeness of an expanse, like the awesome crystal to look on, stretched forth over their heads above.

²² زیر گنبد، دو بال هر جانور طوری گسترده بود که به بالهای جانور پهلویش می‌رسید و دو بال دیگر بدن آنها را می‌پوشاند.

²³Under the expanse were their wings straight, the one toward the other: each one had two which covered on this side, and every one had two which covered on that side, their bodies.

²³ من صدای بالهای آنها را هنگامی‌که پرواز می‌کردند، شنیدم که مانند صدای آبهای خروشان بود، مانند غریو سپاهی عظیم، مانند صدای خدای قادر مطلق. هنگامی‌که پرواز نمی‌کردند بالهایشان را جمع می‌کردند.

²⁴When they went, I heard the noise of their wings like the noise of great waters, like the voice of the Almighty, a noise of tumult like the noise of an army: when they stood, they let down their wings.

²⁴ امّا صدایی از فراز گنبدی که بالای سرشان بود، می‌آمد.

²⁵There was a voice above the expanse that was over their heads: when they stood, they let down their wings.

²⁵ بر گنبد بالای سرشان چیزی مانند تختی به رنگ یاقوت کبود دیده می‌شد. بر روی آن تخت موجودی نشسته بود که به انسان شباهت داشت.

²⁶Above the expanse that was over their heads was the likeness of a throne, as the appearance of a sapphire or, lapis lazuli stone; and on the likeness of the throne was a likeness as the appearance of a man on it above.

²⁶ از کمر به بالا مثل برنز آتشین و شعله‌ور می‌درخشید. از کمر به پایین مانند شعلهٔ آتش می‌تابید و اطراف او با نور درخشنده‌ای روشن بود. درخشندگی پیرامون او مانند رنگین کمان در روز بارانی بود. این منظره، نور پرجلال حضور خداوند را نشان می‌داد. هنگامی‌که این را دیدم، با صورت به زمین افتادم و صدای کسی را شنیدم که سخن می‌گفت.

²⁷I saw as it were glowing metal, as the appearance of fire within it all around, from the appearance of his waist and upward; and from the appearance of his waist and downward I saw as it were the appearance of fire, and there was brightness around him.

²⁷ درخشندگی پیرامون او مانند رنگین کمان در روز بارانی بود. این منظره، نور پرجلال حضور خداوند را نشان می‌داد. هنگامی‌که این را دیدم، با صورت به زمین افتادم و صدای کسی را شنیدم که سخن می‌گفت.

²⁸As the appearance of the rainbow that is in the cloud in the day of rain, so was the appearance of the brightness all around. This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of Yahweh. When I saw it, I fell on my face, and I heard a voice of one that spoke.
