¹Again, in the ninth year, in the tenth month, in the tenth day of the month, the word of Yahweh came to me, saying,

¹ در روز دهمِ ماه دهم از سال نهمِ تبعید ما، کلام خداوند به من فرمود:

²Son of man, write the name of the day, even of this same day: the king of Babylon drew close to Jerusalem this same day.

² «ای انسان فانی، تاریخ امروز را یادداشت کن، همین روز را، زیرا پادشاه بابل امروز اورشلیم را محاصره کرده است.

³Utter a parable to the rebellious house, and tell them, Thus says the Lord Yahweh, Set on the caldron, set it on, and also pour water into it:

³ برای قوم سرکش مَثَلی تعریف کن و به ایشان بگو خداوند متعال چنین می‌فرماید: «دیگ را بر آتش نهید و از آب پر کنید.

⁴gather its pieces into it, even every good piece, the thigh, and the shoulder; fill it with the choice bones.

⁴ بهترین قسمت‌های گوشت را در آن بگذارید، شانه‌ها و رانها، آن را از بهترین گوشتهای استخوان‌دار پُر کنید.

⁵Take the choice of the flock, and also a pile of wood for the bones under the caldron; make it boil well; yes, let its bones be boiled in its midst.

⁵ گوشت بهترین گوسفند را استفاده کنید؛ زیر دیگ، هیزم جمع کنید، آب را به جوش آورید، گوشت و استخوان را بجوشانید.»

⁶Therefore thus says the Lord Yahweh: Woe to the bloody city, to the caldron whose rust is therein, and whose rust is not gone out of it! take out of it piece after piece; No lot is fallen on it.

⁶ بنابراین خداوند متعال چنین می‌فرماید: «وای بر شهر خونین، دیگی که زنگش در اندرون است که زنگش از آن بیرون نرفته است. آن را تکه‌تکه خالی کنید، استثناء قایل نشوید.

⁷For her blood is in the midst of her; she set it on the bare rock; she didn’t pour it on the ground, to cover it with dust.

⁷ چون خونی که ریخته، درون اوست. او آن را در روی صخرهٔ عریان نهاد. او آن را روی زمین نریخت تا با خاک بپوشاند.

⁸That it may cause wrath to come up to take vengeance, I have set her blood on the bare rock, that it should not be covered.

⁸ برای اینکه خشم خود را برانگیزم و انتقام بگیرم، خونی را که او ریخته در روی صخره‌ای عریان نهادم تا پوشیده نگردد.»

⁹Therefore thus says the Lord Yahweh: Woe to the bloody city! I also will make the pile great.

⁹ بنابراین خداوند متعال چنین می‌فرماید: «وای بر شهر خون‌آلود، من تودهٔ هیزم را بزرگ خواهم کرد.

¹⁰Heap on the wood, make the fire hot, boil well the flesh, and make thick the broth, and let the bones be burned.

¹⁰ بر هیزم بیافزایید، آتش را برافروزید، گوشت را خوب بجوشانید، ادویه‌جات را در آن مخلوط کنید، استخوانها را بسوزانید.

¹¹Then set it empty on its coals, that it may be hot, and its brass may burn, and that its filthiness may be molten in it, that its rust may be consumed.

¹¹ آن دیگ برنزی خالی را روی آتش بگذارید تا گداخته گردد و مس آن بدرخشد تا آلودگی در آن ذوب شود و زنگ آن زدوده شود.

¹²She has wearied herself with toil; yet her great rust doesn’t go forth out of her; her rust doesn’t go forth by fire.

¹² بیهوده خود را فرسوده کردم، زیرا زنگار ضخیم آن با آتش بیرون نخواهد شد.

¹³In your filthiness is lewdness: because I have cleansed you and you weren’t cleansed, you shall not be cleansed from your filthiness any more, until I have caused my wrath toward you to rest.

¹³ ای اورشلیم، هرزگی کردارت، تو را آلوده ساخته است. سعی کردم که تو را پاک کنم، امّا آلوده ماندی. دیگر تا زمانی که قدرت خشم مرا تجربه نکنی، دوباره پاک نخواهی شد.

¹⁴I, Yahweh, have spoken it: it shall happen, and I will do it: I will not go back, neither will I spare, neither will I repent; according to your ways, and according to your doings, shall they judge you, says the Lord Yahweh.

¹⁴ من، خداوند چنین گفته‌ام، زمان آن رسیده که عمل کنم. من گناهان تو را ندیده نخواهم گرفت و دلسوزی و رحم نخواهم کرد. تو به‌خاطر کردارت مجازات خواهی شد.»

¹⁵Also the word of Yahweh came to me, saying,

¹⁵ کلام خداوند بر من آمد و فرمود:

¹⁶Son of man, behold, I will take away from you the desire of your eyes with a stroke: yet you shall neither mourn nor weep, neither shall your tears run down.

¹⁶ «ای انسان فانی، می‌خواهم که با یک ضربه شادی چشمان تو را بگیرم، امّا تو نباید سوگوار شوی و یا گریه کنی و اشک بریزی.

¹⁷Sigh, but not aloud, make no mourning for the dead; bind your headdress on you, and put your shoes on your feet, and don’t cover your lips, and don’t eat men’s bread.

¹⁷ آه بکش، امّا نه بلند. برای مرده سوگواری نکن. دستار به سرت کن و کفش بپوش، لب بالایی خود را مپوشان یا خوراک سوگواران را نخور.»

¹⁸So I spoke to the people in the morning; and at even my wife died; and I did in the morning as I was commanded.

¹⁸ پس در صبح با مردم سخن گفتم و در غروب همسرم درگذشت و در روز بعد آنچه را به من فرمان داده بود، انجام دادم.

¹⁹The people said to me, Won’t you tell us what these things are to us, that you do so?

¹⁹ آنگاه مردم پرسیدند: «آیا به ما نخواهی گفت این کارها چه معنی دارد و چرا چنین رفتار می‌کنی؟»

²⁰Then I said to them, The word of Yahweh came to me, saying,

²⁰ پس به ایشان گفتم: «کلام خداوند به من فرمود

²¹Speak to the house of Israel, Thus says the Lord Yahweh: Behold, I will profane my sanctuary, the pride of your power, the desire of your eyes, and that which your soul pities; and your sons and your daughters whom you have left behind shall fall by the sword.

²¹ به قوم بگو من جایگاه مقدّس خود را که افتخار قدرت شما، شادی چشمان و خواستهٔ دل شماست، آلوده خواهم ساخت و پسران و دخترانتان را که بجا گذاشته‌اید با شمشیر کشته خواهند شد.

²²You shall do as I have done: you shall not cover your lips, nor eat the bread of men.

²² شما چون من خواهید کرد، لب بالایی خود را نخواهید پوشاند و نان سوگواران را نخواهید خورد.

²³Your tires shall be on your heads, and your shoes on your feet: you shall not mourn nor weep; but you shall pine away in your iniquities, and moan one toward another.

²³ دستار به سر و کفش به پا خواهید بود. دیگر سوگواری و گریه نخواهید کرد، بلکه در گناه خود خواهید پوسید و برای یکدیگر ناله خواهید کرد.

²⁴Thus Ezekiel shall be a sign to you; according to all that he has done, you will do. When this comes, then you will know that I am the Lord Yahweh.

²⁴ پس حزقیال نشانه‌ای برای شما خواهد بود. کاری را که او کرد شما مانند او انجام خواهید داد. هنگامی‌که چنین روی دهد خواهید دانست که من، خداوند متعال هستم.»

²⁵You, son of man, shall it not be in the day when I take from them their strength, the joy of their glory, the desire of their eyes, and that whereupon they set their heart, their sons and their daughters,

²⁵ خداوند فرمود: «ای انسان فانی، معبد بزرگ قوی را که باعث افتخار و سرور ایشان بود و از تماشا و بازدید کردن آن لذّت می‌بردند از ایشان خواهم گرفت و همچنین پسران و دختران ایشان را نیز خواهم گرفت.

²⁶that in that day he who escapes shall come to you, to cause you to hear it with your ears?

²⁶ در آن روز کسی‌که گریخته باشد، زودتر می‌آید و خبرها را به تو گزارش خواهد داد. در آن روز، برای کسی‌که گریخته است، دهان تو باز خواهد شد و سخن تو دیگر خاموش نخواهد شد تا تو برای ایشان نشانه‌ای باشی و خواهند دانست که من خداوند هستم.»

²⁷In that day your mouth will be opened to him who has escaped, and you shall speak, and be no more mute: so you will be a sign to them; and they shall know that I am Yahweh.

²⁷ در آن روز، برای کسی‌که گریخته است، دهان تو باز خواهد شد و سخن تو دیگر خاموش نخواهد شد تا تو برای ایشان نشانه‌ای باشی و خواهند دانست که من خداوند هستم.»
