¹Stand firm therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and don’t be entangled again with a yoke of bondage.

¹ آری ما آزادیم، زیرا مسیح ما را آزاد کرد. پس در این آزادی استوار باشید و نگذارید كه بار دیگر یوغ بندگی به گردن شما گذاشته شود.

²Behold, I, Paul, tell you that if you receive circumcision, Christ will profit you nothing.

² ملاحظه كنید كه من، پولس، با تأكید به شما می‌گویم اگر مختون شوید دیگر مسیح برای شما هیچ فایده‌ای ندارد!

³Yes, I testify again to every man who receives circumcision, that he is a debtor to do the whole law.

³ بار دیگر تأكید می‌کنم: اگر كسی مختون شود، مجبور است از تمام احكام شریعت اطاعت نماید!

⁴You are alienated from Christ, you who desire to be justified by the law. You have fallen away from grace.

⁴ و شما كه می‌کوشید به وسیلهٔ اجرای شریعت کاملاً نیک شمرده شوید، بدانید كه ارتباط خود را با مسیح قطع كرده و از فیض خدا محرومید.

⁵For we, through the Spirit, by faith wait for the hope of righteousness.

⁵ ما به وسیلهٔ روح‌القدس در انتظار انجام امید خود یعنی نیكی مطلق كه از راه ایمان حاصل می‌شود به سر می‌بریم.

⁶For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision amounts to anything, nor uncircumcision, but faith working through love.

⁶ برای کسی‌که با مسیح عیسی متّحد است، داشتن یا نداشتن ختنه چیز مهمی نیست. آنچه اهمیّت دارد ایمان است كه با محبّت عمل می‌کند.

⁷You were running well! Who interfered with you that you should not obey the truth?

⁷ شما خوب پیش می‌رفتید! چه كسی شما را منحرف ساخت تا حقیقت را دنبال نكنید؟

⁸This persuasion is not from him who calls you.

⁸ این نوع تحریک از جانب آن کسی‌که شما را خوانده است، نمی‌تواند باشد!

⁹A little yeast grows through the whole lump.

⁹ «فقط خمیرمایهٔ كمی لازم است تا خمیر زیادی ور بیاید.»

¹⁰I have confidence toward you in the Lord that you will think no other way. But he who troubles you will bear his judgment, whoever he is.

¹⁰ من در اتّحاد با خداوند، اطمینان دارم كه شما عقیدهٔ دیگری نخواهید داشت و آنکه مزاحم شماست، هرکه باشد به كیفر کارهای خود خواهد رسید.

¹¹But I, brothers, if I still preach circumcision, why am I still persecuted? Then the stumbling block of the cross has been removed.

¹¹ و امّا من، ای دوستان من، اگر -‌به قول بعضی‌ها- هنوز لزوم ختنه را اعلام می‌کنم، پس چرا باز هم جفا می‌بینم؟ اگر چنین كاری را می‌کردم دیگر كسی از پیام صلیب ناراحت نمی‌شد!

¹²I wish that those who disturb you would cut themselves off.

¹² ای‌كاش آنانی كه شما را با تعلیم ختنه مضطرب می‌سازند، ختنهٔ خود را كاملتر كرده، خویشتن را از مردی بیندازند.

¹³For you, brothers, were called for freedom. Only don’t use your freedom for gain to the flesh, but through love be servants to one another.

¹³ ای دوستان من، شما به آزادی خوانده شده‌اید ولی نگذارید كه این آزادی به بی‌بند و باری برای ارضای امیال جسمانی شما تبدیل گردد، بلكه با محبّت یكدیگر را خدمت كنید.

¹⁴For the whole law is fulfilled in one word, in this: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” Leviticus 19:18

¹⁴ زیرا تمامی شریعت در یک حكم خلاصه می‌شود: «همسایه‌ات را مانند جان خودت دوست بدار.»

¹⁵But if you bite and devour one another, be careful that you don’t consume one another.

¹⁵ امّا اگر با چنگ و دندان به جان هم بیفتید، حتماً یكدیگر را نابود خواهید ساخت.

¹⁶But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you won’t fulfill the lust of the flesh.

¹⁶ مقصود من این است: اگر تحت فرمان روح‌القدس به سر ببرید به هیچ‌وجه خواهش‌های نفس را ارضا نخواهید كرد.

¹⁷For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, that you may not do the things that you desire.

¹⁷ زیرا تمایلات نفسانی برخلاف روح‌القدس و آرزوهای روح‌القدس برخلاف طبیعت نفسانی است و این دو مخالف یكدیگرند. به طوری که شما نمی‌توانید آنچه را دلتان می‌خواهد انجام دهید.

¹⁸But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.

¹⁸ امّا اگر روح خدا شما را هدایت كند، شما در قید شریعت نیستید.

¹⁹Now the works of the flesh are obvious, which are: adultery, sexual immorality, uncleanness, lustfulness,

¹⁹ کارهای طبیعت نفسانی آشكارند: زنا، ناپاكی، هرزگی،

²⁰idolatry, sorcery, hatred, strife, jealousies, outbursts of anger, rivalries, divisions, heresies,

²⁰ بت‌پرستی، افسونگری، دشمنی، ستیزه‌جویی، رَشک، خشم، خودخواهی، اختلافات، دسته‌بندی، حسادت، مستی، عیاشی و امثال اینها.

²¹envyings, murders, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these; of which I forewarn you, even as I also forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit the Kingdom of God.

²¹ اكنون مانند گذشته به شما می‌گویم: کسانی‌که این چنین کارها را بجا آورند، در پادشاهی خدا نصیبی نخواهند داشت.

²²But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, or, faithfulness

²² امّا ثمره‌ای كه روح‌القدس به بار می‌آورد: محبّت، خوشی، آرامش، بردباری، مهربانی، خیرخواهی، وفاداری،

²³gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law.

²³ فروتنی و خویشتنداری است كه هیچ قانونی كه برخلاف چنین كارها باشد، وجود ندارد.

²⁴Those who belong to Christ have crucified the flesh with its passions and lusts.

²⁴ و آنانی كه متعلّق به مسیح عیسی هستند، طبیعت نفسانی را با هوسها و امیال آن مصلوب کرده‌اند.

²⁵If we live by the Spirit, let’s also walk by the Spirit.

²⁵ اگر روح خدا منشاء زندگی ماست، او هم باید هادی زندگی ما باشد. خودپسند نباشیم و یكدیگر را نرنجانیم و بر یكدیگر حسادت نورزیم.

²⁶Let’s not become conceited, provoking one another, and envying one another.

²⁶ خودپسند نباشیم و یكدیگر را نرنجانیم و بر یكدیگر حسادت نورزیم.
