¹God, having in the past spoken to the fathers through the prophets at many times and in various ways,

¹ خدا در زمان قدیم، در اوقات بسیار و به راههای مختلف به وسیلهٔ انبیا با نیاکان ما تكلّم فرمود،

²has at the end of these days spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, through whom also he made the worlds.

² ولی در این روزهای آخر به وسیلهٔ پسر خود با ما سخن گفته است. خدا این پسر را وارث کلّ كاینات گردانیده و به وسیلهٔ او همهٔ عالم هستی را آفریده است.

³His Son is the radiance of his glory, the very image of his substance, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself made purification for our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;

³ آن پسر، فروغ جلال خدا و مظهر كامل وجود اوست و كاینات را با كلام پرقدرت خود نگاه می‌دارد و پس از آنکه آدمیان را از گناهانشان پاک گردانید، در عالم بالا در دست راست حضرت اعلی نشست.

⁴having become so much better than the angels, as he has inherited a more excellent name than they have.

⁴ همان‌طور كه مقام او از مقام فرشتگان بالاتر بود، نامی كه به او داده شد از نام آنها برتر می‌باشد،

⁵For to which of the angels did he say at any time, “You are my Son. Today have I become your father?” Psalm 2:7 and again, “I will be to him a Father, and he will be to me a Son?” 2 Samuel 7:14; 1 Chronicles 17:13

⁵ زیرا خدا هرگز به هیچ‌یک از فرشتگان نگفته است كه: «تو پسر من هستی، امروز پدر تو شده‌ام.» و یا: «من برای او پدر خواهم بود و او پسر من خواهد بود.»

⁶Again, when he brings in the firstborn into the world he says, “Let all the angels of God worship him.”

⁶ و باز وقتی نخستزاده را به جهان می‌فرستد می‌فرماید: «همهٔ فرشتگان خدا باید او را بپرستند.»

⁷Of the angels he says, “Who makes his angels winds, and his servants a flame of fire.” Psalm 104:4

⁷ امّا دربارهٔ فرشتگان می‌فرماید: «خدا فرشتگانش را به صورت باد، و خادمانش را مثل شعله‌های آتش می‌گرداند.»

⁸But of the Son he says, “Your throne, O God, is forever and ever. The scepter of uprightness is the scepter of your Kingdom.

⁸ امّا دربارهٔ پسر فرمود: «ای خدا، تخت سلطنت تو ابدی است، و با عدالت بر ملّت خود حكومت می‌کنی.

⁹You have loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, your God, has anointed you with the oil of gladness above your fellows.” Psalm 45:6-7

⁹ تو راستی را دوست داشته و از ناراستی نفرت داری. از این جهت خدا، یعنی خدای تو، تو را با روغن شادمانی بیشتر از رفقایت تدهین كرده است.»

¹⁰And, “You, Lord, in the beginning, laid the foundation of the earth. The heavens are the works of your hands.

¹⁰ و نیز: «تو ای خداوند، در ابتدا زمین را آفریدی و آسمانها كار دستهای توست.

¹¹They will perish, but you continue. They all will grow old like a garment does.

¹¹ آنها از میان خواهند رفت، امّا تو باقی خواهی ماند. همهٔ آنها مثل لباس كهنه خواهند شد.

¹²As a mantle, you will roll them up, and they will be changed; but you are the same. Your years will not fail.” Psalm 102:25-27

¹² تو آنها را مانند ردایی به هم خواهی پیچید. آری، چون آنها مثل هر لباسی تغییر خواهند كرد. امّا تو همانی و سالهای تو پایانی نخواهند داشت.»

¹³But which of the angels has he told at any time, “Sit at my right hand, until I make your enemies the footstool of your feet?” Psalm 110:1

¹³ خدا به کدام‌یک از فرشتگان خود هرگز گفته است: «به دست راست من بنشین، تا دشمنانت را زیر پای تو اندازم؟» پس فرشتگان چه هستند؟ همهٔ آنها ارواحی هستند كه خدا را خدمت می‌کنند و فرستاده می‌شوند تا وارثان نجات را یاری نمایند.

¹⁴Aren’t they all serving spirits, sent out to do service for the sake of those who will inherit salvation?

¹⁴ پس فرشتگان چه هستند؟ همهٔ آنها ارواحی هستند كه خدا را خدمت می‌کنند و فرستاده می‌شوند تا وارثان نجات را یاری نمایند.
