¹This is what Isaiah the son of Amoz saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem.

¹ این است پیام خداوند به اشعیا فرزند آموص، دربارهٔ یهودا و اورشلیم:

²It shall happen in the latter days, that the mountain of Yahweh’s house shall be established on the top of the mountains, and shall be raised above the hills; and all nations shall flow to it.

² در روزهای آخر، کوهی که معبد بزرگ خداوند بر آن بنا شده، بلندترین کوه دنیا می‌شود و ملّتهای مختلف به آنجا می‌آیند،

³Many peoples shall go and say, “Come, let’s go up to the mountain of Yahweh, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths.” For out of Zion the law shall go forth, and the word of Yahweh from Jerusalem.

³ و اقوام بسیار خواهند گفت: «بیایید به کوه خداوند و معبد بزرگ خدای اسرائیل برویم، او آنچه را که می‌خواهد ما انجام دهیم به ما خواهد آموخت. ما در راهی که او برگزیده است گام برمی‌داریم. زیرا خداوند در صهیون با قوم خود سخن می‌گوید و تعالیم او از اورشلیم اعلام می‌شوند.»

⁴He will judge between the nations, and will decide concerning many peoples; and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks. Nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.

⁴ خداوند در بین اقوام جهان داوری می‌کند. اختلافات قدرتهای بزرگ را در دور و نزدیک جهان حل می‌کند. مردم از شمشیرهای خود گاوآهن و از نیزه‌های خود ارّه می‌سازند. قومی به روی قوم دیگر شمشیر نمی‌کشد و برای جنگ و خونریزی آماده نمی‌شود.

⁵ ای فرزندان یعقوب اکنون بیایید و در نوری که خداوند به ما می‌دهد گام برداریم.

⁶For you have forsaken your people, the house of Jacob, because they are filled from the east, with those who practice divination like the Philistines, and they clasp hands with the children of foreigners.

⁶ ای خدا، تو قوم خود -‌خاندان یعقوب- را ترک کرده‌ای. زمین از جادوگریهای شرقی و فلسطینی پر شده و مردم از رسوم بیگانگان پیروی می‌کنند.

⁷Their land is full of silver and gold, neither is there any end of their treasures. Their land also is full of horses, neither is there any end of their chariots.

⁷ سرزمین آنها از طلا و نقره پر است و خزائن آنها نهایت ندارد. سرزمین آنها پر از اسب و ارّابه‌هایشان بی‌شمار است.

⁸Their land also is full of idols. They worship the work of their own hands, that which their own fingers have made.

⁸ دیار آنها از بُتها پر شده است و ساخته‌های دست خود را می‌پرستند.

⁹Man is brought low, and mankind is humbled; therefore don’t forgive them.

⁹ مردم همه حقیر و شرمسار شده‌اند. خدایا آنها را نبخش.

¹⁰Enter into the rock, and hide in the dust, from before the terror of Yahweh, and from the glory of his majesty.

¹⁰ آنها برای فرار از خشم و قدرت و جلال خداوند، خود را در غارهای کوههای سنگی و یا در حفره‌هایی که در زمین کنده‌اند پنهان می‌کنند.

¹¹The lofty looks of man will be brought low, the haughtiness of men will be bowed down, and Yahweh alone will be exalted in that day.

¹¹ روزی خواهد آمد که غرور و تکبّر مردمان از بین می‌رود و فقط خداوند جلال می‌یابد.

¹²For there will be a day of Yahweh of Armies for all that is proud and haughty, and for all that is lifted up; and it shall be brought low:

¹² در آن روز خداوند متعال تمام زورمندان و مغروران و متکبّران را پست و حقیر خواهد ساخت.

¹³For all the cedars of Lebanon, that are high and lifted up, for all the oaks of Bashan,

¹³ او درختان سرو لبنان و کاجهای باشان را از بین خواهد برد.

¹⁴For all the high mountains, for all the hills that are lifted up,

¹⁴ او کوهها و تل‌های بلند،

¹⁵For every lofty tower, for every fortified wall,

¹⁵ و بُرج‌ها و حصارهای قلعه‌های رفیع را هموار خواهد ساخت.

¹⁶For all the ships of Tarshish, and for all pleasant imagery.

¹⁶ او حتّی بزرگترین و زیباترین کشتی‌ها را غرق می‌کند.

¹⁷The loftiness of man shall be bowed down, and the haughtiness of men shall be brought low; and Yahweh alone shall be exalted in that day.

¹⁷ غرور بشر پایان می‌یابد و تکبّرش از بین خواهد رفت و بُتها کاملاً محو خواهند شد. در آن روز تنها خداوند جلال خواهد یافت.

¹⁸ وقتی او برای لرزاندن زمین بیاید، مردم برای فرار از خشم و قدرت و جلال خدا، خود را در غارهای کوههای سنگی یا در حفره‌هایی که در زمین کنده‌اند پنهان خواهند کرد.

¹⁹Men shall go into the caves of the rocks, and into the holes of the earth, from before the terror of Yahweh, and from the glory of his majesty, when he arises to shake the earth mightily.

¹⁹ وقتی آن روز فرا رسد، آنها بُتهای طلایی و نقره‌ای را که خود ساخته بودند به جلوی موشهای کور و خفّاشها می‌ریزند.

²⁰In that day, men shall cast away their idols of silver, and their idols of gold, which have been made for themselves to worship, to the moles and to the bats;

²⁰ وقتی خداوند بیاید تا زمین را به لرزه درآورد، مردم برای فرار از خشم خداوند و قدرت و جلالش، خود را در حفره‌های زمین و یا در غارهای کوههای سنگی پنهان می‌کنند. دیگر به انسانهای فانی توکّل نکن. آنها چه ارزشی دارند؟

²¹To go into the caverns of the rocks, and into the clefts of the ragged rocks, from before the terror of Yahweh, and from the glory of his majesty, when he arises to shake the earth mightily.

²²Stop trusting in man, whose breath is in his nostrils; for of what account is he?
