¹It happened when Jerusalem was taken, (in the ninth year of Zedekiah king of Judah, in the tenth month, came Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon and all his army against Jerusalem, and besieged it;

¹ در ماه دهم از نهمین سال سلطنت صدقیا پادشاه یهودا، نبوکدنصر پادشاه بابل با تمام سپاه خود به اورشلیم حمله کرد.

²in the eleventh year of Zedekiah, in the fourth month, the ninth day of the month, a breach was made in the city),

² در روز نهم از ماه چهارم، در یازدهمین سال سلطنت صدقیا دیوار شهر شکسته شد.

³that all the princes of the king of Babylon came in, and sat in the middle gate, Nergal Sharezer, Samgarnebo, Sarsechim, Rabsaris, Nergal Sharezer, Rabmag, with all the rest of the princes of the king of Babylon.

³ (وقتی اورشلیم به تصرّف بابلی‌ها درآمد، افسران پادشاه بابل از جمله نِرگال شرآصر و سمگرنبو و سرسکیم و یک نِرگال شرآصر دیگر در جلوی دروازهٔ میانی مستقر شدند.)

⁴It happened that, when Zedekiah the king of Judah and all the men of war saw them, then they fled, and went forth out of the city by night, by the way of the king’s garden, through the gate between the two walls; and he went out toward the Arabah.

⁴ وقتی صدقیای پادشاه و سربازانش این وضع را دیدند، سعی کردند شبانه از شهر فرار کنند. آنها از راه باغچه‌های کاخ بیرون رفتند، و از راه دروازه‌ای که دو دیوار را به هم می‌پیوست، گذشتند و به طرف دشت اردن فرار کردند.

⁵But the army of the Chaldeans pursued after them, and overtook Zedekiah in the plains of Jericho: and when they had taken him, they brought him up to Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon to Riblah in the land of Hamath; and he gave judgment on him.

⁵ امّا ارتش بابل به دنبال آنها رفت و صدقیا را در دشتهای نزدیک اریحا دستگیر نمود. بعد او را به حضور نبوکدنصر که در شهر ربله واقع در سرزمین حمات بود، بردند و نبوکدنصر در آنجا حکم مجازات او را صادر کرد.

⁶Then the king of Babylon killed the sons of Zedekiah in Riblah before his eyes: also the king of Babylon killed all the nobles of Judah.

⁶ در ربله او دستور داد پسران صدقیا را در برابر چشمان پدرشان بکشند. او همچنین دستور داد تمام درباریان یهودا کشته شوند.

⁷Moreover he put out Zedekiah’s eyes, and bound him in fetters, to carry him to Babylon.

⁷ و آنها چشمان صدقیا را کور نمودند و او را به زنجیر کشیده، به بابل بردند.

⁸The Chaldeans burned the king’s house, and the houses of the people, with fire, and broke down the walls of Jerusalem.

⁸ در همین حال، بابلی‌ها کاخ سلطنتی‌ و خانه‌های مردم را به آتش کشیدند و دیوارهای شهر را خراب کردند.

⁹Then Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard carried away captive into Babylon the residue of the people who remained in the city, the deserters also who fell away to him, and the residue of the people who remained.

⁹ در آخر، نبوزرادان فرماندهٔ سپاه بابل، مردمی را که در شهر باقی مانده بودند به همراه کسانی‌که به او پیوسته بودند، به عنوان اسیر به بابل بُرد.

¹⁰But Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard left of the poor of the people, who had nothing, in the land of Judah, and gave them vineyards and fields at the same time.

¹⁰ فقط فقیرانی که مالک هیچ چیزی نبودند، در یهودا باقی ماندند و او تاکستانها و مزارع را به آنها داد.

¹¹Now Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon commanded Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard concerning Jeremiah, saying,

¹¹ امّا نبوکدنصر به نبوزرادان فرماندهٔ سپاهش، چنین دستور داد:

¹²Take him, and look well to him, and do him no harm; but do to him even as he shall tell you.

¹² «برو ارمیا را پیدا کن و از او به خوبی مواظبت کن. به او آسیبی مرسان بلکه آنچه می‌خواهد برایش انجام بده.»

¹³So Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard sent, and Nebushazban, Rabsaris, and Nergal Sharezer, Rabmag, and all the chief officers of the king of Babylon;

¹³ پس نبوزرادان به اتّفاق سرداران سپاه یعنی نبوشزبان و نِرگال شرآصر و سایر افسران پادشاه بابل

¹⁴they sent, and took Jeremiah out of the court of the guard, and committed him to Gedaliah the son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, that he should carry him home: so he lived among the people.

¹⁴ مرا از محوطهٔ کاخ بیرون آوردند. آنها مرا تحت توجّه جدلیا پسر اخیقام و نوهٔ شافان قرار دادند تا من در امنیّت و سلامتی به خانهٔ خودم بازگردم. پس من در آنجا در میان مردم ساکن شدم.

¹⁵Now the word of Yahweh came to Jeremiah, while he was shut up in the court of the guard, saying,

¹⁵ زمانی که من هنوز در محوطهٔ کاخ زندانی بودم، خداوند به من گفت

¹⁶Go, and speak to Ebedmelech the Ethiopian, saying, Thus says Yahweh of Armies, the God of Israel: Behold, I will bring my words on this city for evil, and not for good; and they shall be accomplished before you in that day.

¹⁶ تا به عبدمَلک حبشی بگویم که خداوند متعال، خدای اسرائیل گفته است: «همان‌طور که گفته بودم عمل خواهم کرد، من بر این شهر نه رفاه و نه برکت، بلکه ویرانی خواهم فرستاد و وقتی این واقع شود تو در آنجا خواهی بود تا آن را ببینی.

¹⁷But I will deliver you in that day, says Yahweh; and you shall not be given into the hand of the men of whom you are afraid.

¹⁷ امّا من، خداوند حافظ تو خواهم بود و تو تسلیم کسانی‌که از آنها می‌ترسی نخواهی شد. من تو را امن و امان نگاه خواهم داشت و تو کشته نخواهی شد. تو جانت را نجات خواهی داد، چون تو به من اعتماد داشتی. من خداوند چنین گفته‌ام.»

¹⁸For I will surely save you, and you shall not fall by the sword, but your life shall be for a prey to you; because you have put your trust in me, says Yahweh.

¹⁸ من تو را امن و امان نگاه خواهم داشت و تو کشته نخواهی شد. تو جانت را نجات خواهی داد، چون تو به من اعتماد داشتی. من خداوند چنین گفته‌ام.»
