¹Zedekiah was twenty-one years old when he began to reign; and he reigned eleven years in Jerusalem: and his mother’s name was Hamutal the daughter of Jeremiah of Libnah.

¹ وقتی صدقیا بیست و یک ساله بود پادشاه یهودا شد و مدّت یازده سال در اورشلیم حکومت کرد. نام مادرش حمیطل دختر ارمیا از اهالی شهر لبنه بود.

²He did that which was evil in the sight of Yahweh, according to all that Jehoiakim had done.

² صدقیای پادشاه مانند یهویاقیم پادشاه، علیه خداوند مرتکب گناه شده بود.

³For through the anger of Yahweh it happened in Jerusalem and Judah, until he had cast them out from his presence. Zedekiah rebelled against the king of Babylon.

³ خداوند چنان نسبت به مردم اورشلیم و یهودا خشمگین شد که آنها را از نظر خود دور کرد. صدقیا علیه نبوکدنصر پادشاه بابل شورید،

⁴It happened in the ninth year of his reign, in the tenth month, in the tenth day of the month, that Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came, he and all his army, against Jerusalem, and encamped against it; and they built forts against it round about.

⁴ پس نبوکدنصر هم با تمام سپاه خود آمد و در روز دهم از ماه دهم در نهمین سال سلطنت صدقیا به اورشلیم حمله کرد. آنها اطراف شهر اردو زدند و شهر را محاصره کردند

⁵So the city was besieged to the eleventh year of king Zedekiah.

⁵ و آن را تا یازدهمین سال سلطنت صدقیا در محاصره نگاه داشتند.

⁶In the fourth month, in the ninth day of the month, the famine was severe in the city, so that there was no bread for the people of the land.

⁶ در نهمین روز ماه چهارم همان سال، زمانی که به‌خاطر قحطی دیگر چیزی باقی نمانده بود که مردم بخورند،

⁷Then a breach was made in the city, and all the men of war fled, and went forth out of the city by night by the way of the gate between the two walls, which was by the king’s garden; (now the Chaldeans were against the city all around;) and they went toward the Arabah.

⁷ دیوارهای شهر درهم شکسته شد. گرچه بابلی‌ها شهر را در محاصره داشتند، تمام سربازان موفّق شدند شبانه فرار کنند. آنها شهر را از راه باغهای سلطنتی ترک کردند و از دروازهٔ آب که دو دیوار را به هم مربوط می‌کرد، گذشتند و به سوی دشت اردن فرار کردند

⁸But the army of the Chaldeans pursued after the king, and overtook Zedekiah in the plains of Jericho; and all his army was scattered from him.

⁸ امّا ارتش بابل، به دنبال آنها به تعقیب صدقیای پادشاه رفت. و او را در دشتهای نزدیک اریحا دستگیر کرد و تمام سربازانش او را ترک کردند.

⁹Then they took the king, and carried him up to the king of Babylon to Riblah in the land of Hamath; and he gave judgment on him.

⁹ صدقیا را به حضور نبوکدنصر که در آن زمان در شهر ربله، در سرزمین حمات بود، بردند و در آنجا نبوکدنصر حکم مجازات او را صادر کرد.

¹⁰The king of Babylon killed the sons of Zedekiah before his eyes: he killed also all the princes of Judah in Riblah.

¹⁰ در ربله جلوی چشمان صدقیا، پسران او را کشتند و تمام بزرگان یهودا را اعدام کردند.

¹¹He put out the eyes of Zedekiah; and the king of Babylon bound him in fetters, and carried him to Babylon, and put him in prison until the day of his death.

¹¹ بعد از اینکه صدقیا را کور کرد او را به زنجیر بست و به بابل برد. صدقیا تا روز مرگش در بابل زندانی بود.

¹²Now in the fifth month, in the tenth day of the month, which was the nineteenth year of king Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon, came Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard, who stood before the king of Babylon, into Jerusalem:

¹² در روز دهم از ماه پنجم در نوزدهمین سال سلطنت نبوکدنصر پادشاه، نبوزرادان مشاور و فرماندهٔ ارتش او وارد اورشلیم شد.

¹³and he burned the house of Yahweh, and the king’s house; and all the houses of Jerusalem, even every great house, burned he with fire.

¹³ او معبد بزرگ، کاخ سلطنتی، و خانه‌های بزرگان اورشلیم را آتش زد

¹⁴All the army of the Chaldeans, who were with the captain of the guard, broke down all the walls of Jerusalem all around.

¹⁴ و سربازانش دیوارهای شهر را خراب کردند.

¹⁵Then Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard carried away captive of the poorest of the people, and the residue of the people who were left in the city, and those who fell away, who fell to the king of Babylon, and the residue of the multitude.

¹⁵ بعد از آن، نبوزرادان همهٔ مردانی را که در شهر مانده بودند، به همراه بقیّهٔ صنعتگران و همچنین کسانی‌که خودشان را به بابلی‌ها تسلیم کرده بودند، همه را به اسارت به بابل برد.

¹⁶But Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard left of the poorest of the land to be vineyard keepers and farmers.

¹⁶ امّا در یهودا، او بعضی از فقیرترین مردمان را که مالک هیچ ملکی نبودند، نگاه داشت و به کار کردن در تاکستانها و مزارع مجبور کرد.

¹⁷The Chaldeans broke the pillars of brass that were in the house of Yahweh, and the bases and the bronze sea that were in the house of Yahweh in pieces, and carried all the of their brass to Babylon.

¹⁷ بابلی‌ها، ستونهای برنزی و پایه‌های آن را که در معبد بزرگ بود قطعه‌قطعه کردند و به همراه حوضچهٔ بزرگ و تمام برنزهایی که در معبد بزرگ بود، همه را به بابل بردند.

¹⁸They also took away the pots, the shovels, the snuffers, the basins, the spoons, and all the vessels of brass with which they ministered.

¹⁸ آنها همچنین بیلها و خاک‌اندازهایی که برای تمیز کردن قربانگاه استفاده می‌شد، چراغها، کاسه‌هایی که برای نگاه داشتن خون قربانی‌ها به کار می‌رفت، و کاسه‌های مخصوص سوزاندن بُخور و تمام وسایل برنزی دیگری که در معبد بزرگ از آنها استفاده می‌شد، همه را به بابل بردند.

¹⁹The captain of the guard took away the cups, the fire pans, the basins, the pots, the lampstands, the spoons, and the bowls; that which was of gold, in gold, and that which was of silver, in silver.

¹⁹ آنها همچنین هر چیزی را که از طلا و نقره درست شده بود، مانند: منقلها، کاسه‌ها برای نگاهداری خون قربانی‌ها، ظروف مخصوص برای جمع کردن خاکستر، مشعلدانها، کاسه‌هایی که برای سوزاندن بُخور به کار می‌رفت، جامهایی که برای ریختن شرابهای تقدیم شده استفاده می‌شد، همه را با خود بردند.

²⁰They took the two pillars, the one sea, and the twelve bronze bulls that were under the bases, which king Solomon had made for the house of Yahweh. The brass of all these vessels was without weight.

²⁰ تمام اشیای برنزی که سلیمان پادشاه برای معبد بزرگ ساخته بود مانند: دو ستون و حوضچهٔ برنزی و مجسمهٔ‌های دوازده گاوی که حوضچه بر روی آنها قرار داشت را نیز با خود بردند. آنها آن‌قدر سنگین بودند که نمی‌توانستند آنها را وزن کنند.

²¹As for the pillars, the height of the one pillar was eighteen cubits; and a line of twelve cubits encircled it; and its thickness was four fingers. It was hollow.

²¹ دو ستون کاملاً مثل هم بودند، ارتفاع آنها در حدود هشت متر و محیط آنها در حدود پنج و نیم متر بود. داخلشان خالی و ضخامت فلز جدار خارجی آن هفت سانتیمتر بود. در بالای هریک از ستونها تاجی قرار داشت، به ارتفاع دو متر و نیم. تمام اطراف ستونها کنده‌کاری و با شاخه‌های انارهای برنزی مزّین شده بود.

²²A capital of brass was on it; and the height of the one capital was five cubits, with network and pomegranates on the capital all around, all of brass: and the second pillar also had like these, and pomegranates.

²² بر روی هر ستون صد انار کنده‌کاری شده بود و نود و شش عدد از آنها از پایین قابل رؤیت بود.

²³There were ninety-six pomegranates on the sides; all the pomegranates were one hundred on the network all around.

²³ علاوه بر آن، نبوزرادان فرمانده سپاه، سریا کاهن اعظم، صَفَنیا معاون او و سه نفر دیگر از بزرگان معبد بزرگ را به اسارت گرفت.

²⁴The captain of the guard took Seraiah the chief priest, and Zephaniah the second priest, and the three keepers of the threshold:

²⁴ در داخل شهر او افسری که فرماندهی سربازان را به عهده داشت به همراه هفت نفر دیگر از مشاوران شخصی پادشاه، معاون فرمانده -‌که مسئول بایگانی ارتش بود- و شصت نفر از بزرگان یهودا، همه را به اسارت برد.

²⁵and out of the city he took an officer who was set over the men of war; and seven men of those who saw the king’s face, who were found in the city; and the scribe of the captain of the army, who mustered the people of the land; and sixty men of the people of the land, who were found in the midst of the city.

²⁵ نبوزرادان همهٔ آنها را به حضور نبوکدنصر پادشاه برد که در آن زمان در ربله،

²⁶Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard took them, and brought them to the king of Babylon to Riblah.

²⁶ واقع در محلهٔ حمات بود. پادشاه دستور داد همهٔ آنها کشته شوند. به این ترتیب، مردم یهودا از سرزمین خودشان تبعید شدند.

²⁷The king of Babylon struck them, and put them to death at Riblah in the land of Hamath. So Judah was carried away captive out of his land.

²⁷ این است تعداد مردمی که نبوکدنصر به اسارت برد: در سال هفتم سلطنت خود سه هزار و بیست و سه نفر از یهودا؛

²⁸This is the people whom Nebuchadnezzar carried away captive: in the seventh year three thousand twenty-three Jews;

²⁸ در سال هجدهم پادشاهی نبوکدنصر، هشتصد و سی و دو نفر از اورشلیم به اسیری برد؛

²⁹in the eighteenth year of Nebuchadnezzar he carried away captive from Jerusalem eight hundred thirty-two persons;

²⁹ در سال بیست و سوم سلطنت نبوکدنصر، نبوزرادان، فرماندهٔ نگهبانان هفتصد و چهل و پنج نفر از یهودا را به اسیری برد. بنابراین در مجموع چهار هزار و ششصد نفر تبعید شدند.

³⁰in the three and twentieth year of Nebuchadnezzar Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard carried away captive of the Jews seven hundred forty-five persons: all the persons were four thousand and six hundred.

³⁰ در روز بیست و پنجم ماه دوازدهم سی و هفتمین سال اسارت یهویاکین، پادشاه یهودا، یعنی در نخستین سال سلطنت اویل مردوک در بابل، یهویاکین مورد لطف او قرار گرفت و او را از زندان آزاد کرد.

³¹It happened in the seven and thirtieth year of the captivity of Jehoiachin king of Judah, in the twelfth month, in the five and twentieth day of the month, that Evilmerodach king of Babylon, in the first year of his reign, lifted up the head of Jehoiachin king of Judah, and brought him forth out of prison;

³¹ اویل مردوک با او دوستانه رفتار نمود و از تمام پادشاهانی که در بابل در تبعید به سر می‌بردند، به یهویاکین افتخار بیشتر بخشید.

³²and he spoke kindly to him, and set his throne above the throne of the kings who were with him in Babylon,

³² پس یهویاکین لباس زندانی خود را کنار گذاشت و او در تمامی عمرش همواره با پادشاه بر سر یک سفره غذا می‌خورد. یهویاکین تا هنگامی‌که زنده بود، هر روز از پادشاه بابل مقرّری دریافت می‌کرد.

³³and changed his prison garments. Jehoiachin ate bread before him continually all the days of his life:

³³ یهویاکین تا هنگامی‌که زنده بود، هر روز از پادشاه بابل مقرّری دریافت می‌کرد.

³⁴and for his allowance, there was a continual allowance given him by the king of Babylon, every day a portion until the day of his death, all the days of his life.
