¹Now on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene went early, while it was still dark, to the tomb, and saw the stone taken away from the tomb.

¹ بامداد روز اول هفته وقتی هوا هنوز تاریک بود. مریم مجدلیه بر سر قبر آمد و دید كه سنگ از جلوی قبر برداشته شده است.

²Therefore she ran and came to Simon Peter, and to the other disciple whom Jesus loved, and said to them, “They have taken away the Lord out of the tomb, and we don’t know where they have laid him!”

² او دوان‌دوان پیش شمعون پطرس و آن شاگردی كه عیسی او را دوست می‌داشت رفت و به آنها گفت: «خداوند را از قبر برده‌اند و نمی‌دانیم او را كجا گذاشته‌اند.»

³Therefore Peter and the other disciple went out, and they went toward the tomb.

³ پس پطرس و آن شاگرد دیگر به راه افتادند و به طرف قبر رفتند.

⁴They both ran together. The other disciple outran Peter, and came to the tomb first.

⁴ هر دو با هم می‌دویدند، ولی آن شاگرد دیگر از پطرس جلو افتاد و اول به سر قبر رسید.

⁵Stooping and looking in, he saw the linen cloths lying, yet he didn’t enter in.

⁵ او خم شد و به داخل قبر نگاه كرده، كفن را دید كه در آنجا قرار داشت. ولی به داخل قبر نرفت.

⁶Then Simon Peter came, following him, and entered into the tomb. He saw the linen cloths lying,

⁶ بعد شمعون پطرس هم رسید و به داخل قبر رفت. او هم كفن را دید كه در آنجا قرار داشت

⁷and the cloth that had been on his head, not lying with the linen cloths, but rolled up in a place by itself.

⁷ و آن دستمالی كه روی سر او بود در كنار كفن نبود بلكه پیچیده شده و دور از آن در گوشه‌ای گذاشته شده بود.

⁸So then the other disciple who came first to the tomb also entered in, and he saw and believed.

⁸ بعد، آن شاگردی هم كه ابتدا به قبر رسید به داخل رفت، آن را دید و ایمان آورد.

⁹For as yet they didn’t know the Scripture, that he must rise from the dead.

⁹ زیرا تا آن وقت آنها كلام خدا را نفهمیده بودند كه او باید بعد از مرگ دوباره زنده شود.

¹⁰So the disciples went away again to their own homes.

¹⁰ پس آن دو شاگرد به منزل خود برگشتند.

¹¹But Mary was standing outside at the tomb weeping. So, as she wept, she stooped and looked into the tomb,

¹¹ امّا مریم در خارج قبر ایستاده بود و گریه می‌کرد. همان‌طور كه او اشک می‌ریخت خم شد و به داخل قبر نگاه كرد

¹²and she saw two angels in white sitting, one at the head, and one at the feet, where the body of Jesus had lain.

¹² و دو فرشتهٔ سفید پوش را دید كه در جایی‌که بدن عیسی را گذاشته بود، یکی نزدیک سر و دیگری نزدیک پا نشسته بودند.

¹³They told her, “Woman, why are you weeping?” She said to them, “Because they have taken away my Lord, and I don’t know where they have laid him.”

¹³ آنها به او گفتند: «ای زن، چرا گریه می‌کنی؟» او پاسخ داد: «خداوند مرا برده‌اند و نمی‌دانم او را كجا گذاشته‌اند.»

¹⁴When she had said this, she turned around and saw Jesus standing, and didn’t know that it was Jesus.

¹⁴ وقتی این را گفت به عقب برگشت و عیسی را دید كه در آنجا ایستاده است ولی او را نشناخت.

¹⁵Jesus said to her, “Woman, why are you weeping? Who are you looking for?” She, supposing him to be the gardener, said to him, “Sir, if you have carried him away, tell me where you have laid him, and I will take him away.”

¹⁵ عیسی به او گفت: «ای زن، چرا گریه می‌کنی؟ به دنبال چه کسی می‌گردی؟» مریم به گمان اینكه او باغبان است به او گفت: «ای آقا، اگر تو او را برده‌ای به من بگو او را كجا گذاشته‌ای تا من او را ببرم.»

¹⁶Jesus said to her, “Mary.” She turned and said to him, “Rabboni Rabboni is a transliteration of the Hebrew word for “great teacher.” !” which is to say, “Teacher or, Master !”

¹⁶ عیسی گفت: «ای مریم.» مریم برگشت و به زبان عبری گفت: «ربونی.» (یعنی ای استاد.)

¹⁷Jesus said to her, “Don’t hold me, for I haven’t yet ascended to my Father; but go to my brothers, and tell them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’”

¹⁷ عیسی به او گفت: «به من دست نزن! زیرا هنوز به نزد پدر بالا نرفته‌ام امّا پیش برادران من برو و به آنان بگو كه اكنون پیش پدر خود و پدر شما و خدای خود و خدای شما بالا می‌روم.»

¹⁸Mary Magdalene came and told the disciples that she had seen the Lord, and that he had said these things to her.

¹⁸ مریم مجدلیه پیش شاگردان رفت و به آنها گفت: «من خداوند را دیده‌ام.» و سپس پیغام او را به آنان رسانید.

¹⁹When therefore it was evening, on that day, the first day of the week, and when the doors were locked where the disciples were assembled, for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood in the midst, and said to them, “Peace be to you.”

¹⁹ در غروب روز یكشنبه وقتی شاگردان از ترس یهودیان در پشت درهای بسته، دور هم جمع شده بودند، عیسی آمده در میان آنان ایستاد و گفت: «سلام بر شما باد!»

²⁰When he had said this, he showed them his hands and his side. The disciples therefore were glad when they saw the Lord.

²⁰ و بعد دستها و پهلوی خود را به آنان نشان داد. وقتی شاگردان، خداوند را دیدند، بسیار شاد شدند.

²¹Jesus therefore said to them again, “Peace be to you. As the Father has sent me, even so I send you.”

²¹ عیسی باز هم گفت: «سلام بر شما باد! همان‌طور كه پدر مرا فرستاد من نیز شما را می‌فرستم.»

²²When he had said this, he breathed on them, and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit!

²² بعد از گفتن این سخن، عیسی بر آنان دمید و گفت: «روح‌القدس را بیابید،

²³ If you forgive anyone’s sins, they have been forgiven them. If you retain anyone’s sins, they have been retained.”

²³ گناهان کسانی را كه ببخشید، بخشیده می‌شود و آنانی را كه نبخشید، بخشیده نخواهد شد.»

²⁴But Thomas, one of the twelve, called Didymus, wasn’t with them when Jesus came.

²⁴ یکی از دوازده شاگرد یعنی توما كه به معنی دوقلو است، موقعی که عیسی آمد با آنها نبود.

²⁵The other disciples therefore said to him, “We have seen the Lord!” But he said to them, “Unless I see in his hands the print of the nails, and put my hand into his side, I will not believe.”

²⁵ پس وقتی‌که سایر شاگردان به او گفتند: «ما خداوند را دیده‌ایم.» او گفت: «من تا جای میخها را در دستش نبینم و تا انگشت خود را در جای میخها و دستم را در پهلویش نگذارم باور نخواهم كرد.»

²⁶After eight days again his disciples were inside, and Thomas was with them. Jesus came, the doors being locked, and stood in the midst, and said, “Peace be to you.”

²⁶ بعد از هشت روز، وقتی شاگردان بار دیگر با هم بودند و توما هم با آنان بود، با وجود اینكه درها بسته بود، عیسی به درون آمد و در میان آنان ایستاد و گفت: «سلام بر شما باد.»

²⁷Then he said to Thomas, “Reach here your finger, and see my hands. Reach here your hand, and put it into my side. Don’t be unbelieving, but believing.”

²⁷ و بعد به توما گفت: «انگشت خود را به اینجا بیاور، دستهای مرا ببین، دست خود را بر پهلوی من بگذار و دیگر بی‌ایمان نباش بلكه ایمان داشته باش.»

²⁸Thomas answered him, “My Lord and my God!”

²⁸ توما گفت: «ای خداوند من و ای خدای من.»

²⁹Jesus said to him, “Because you have seen me, TR adds “ Thomas,” you have believed. Blessed are those who have not seen, and have believed.”

²⁹ عیسی گفت: «آیا تو به‌خاطر اینكه مرا دیده‌ای ایمان آوردی؟ خوشا به حال کسانی‌که مرا ندیده‌اند و ایمان می‌آورند.»

³⁰Therefore Jesus did many other signs in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book;

³⁰ عیسی معجزات بسیار دیگری در حضور شاگردان خود انجام داد كه در این كتاب نوشته نشد. ولی این‌قدر نوشته شد تا شما ایمان بیاورید كه عیسی، مسیح و پسر خداست و تا ایمان آورده به وسیلهٔ نام او صاحب حیات جاودان شوید.

³¹but these are written, that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in his name.

³¹ ولی این‌قدر نوشته شد تا شما ایمان بیاورید كه عیسی، مسیح و پسر خداست و تا ایمان آورده به وسیلهٔ نام او صاحب حیات جاودان شوید.
