¹He said to the disciples, “It is impossible that no occasions of stumbling should come, but woe to him through whom they come!

¹ عیسی به شاگردان خود فرمود: «از روبه‌رو شدن با وسوسه‌ها گریزی نیست امّا وای به حال آن‌کسی كه سبب وسوسه می‌شود.

² It would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck, and he were thrown into the sea, rather than that he should cause one of these little ones to stumble.

² برای او بهتر است كه با سنگ آسیابی به دور گردن خود به دریا انداخته شود تا یكی از این كوچكان را منحرف كند.

³ Be careful. If your brother sins against you, rebuke him. If he repents, forgive him.

³ مواظب باشید! اگر برادرت به تو بدی كند او را متنبّه ساز و اگر توبه كند، او را ببخش.

⁴ If he sins against you seven times in the day, and seven times returns, saying, ‘I repent,’ you shall forgive him.”

⁴ حتّی اگر روزی هفت بار به تو بدی كند و هفت بار پیش تو بیاید و بگوید: 'توبه كردم' باید او را ببخشی.»

⁵The apostles said to the Lord, “Increase our faith.”

⁵ رسولان به عیسی خداوند عرض كردند: «ایمان ما را زیاد كن.»

⁶The Lord said, “If you had faith like a grain of mustard seed, you would tell this sycamore tree, ‘Be uprooted, and be planted in the sea,’ and it would obey you.

⁶ خداوند پاسخ داد: «اگر شما به اندازهٔ دانه خَردَلی ایمان می‌داشتید می‌توانستید به این درخت توت بگویید: 'از ریشه در بیا و در دریا كاشته شو' و از شما اطاعت می‌کرد.

⁷ But who is there among you, having a servant plowing or keeping sheep, that will say, when he comes in from the field, ‘Come immediately and sit down at the table,’

⁷ «فرض كنید یكی از شما غلامی دارد كه شخم می‌زند یا از گوسفندان پاسداری می‌کند. وقتی از مزرعه برگردد آیا او به آن غلام خواهد گفت: 'فوراً بیا و بنشین؟'

⁸ and will not rather tell him, ‘Prepare my supper, clothe yourself properly, and serve me, while I eat and drink. Afterward you shall eat and drink’?

⁸ آیا به عوض آن نخواهد گفت: 'شام مرا حاضر كن، كمرت را ببند و تا من می‌‌‌‌‌‌خورم و می‌نوشم خدمت كن، بعد می‌توانی غذای خودت را بخوری؟'

⁹ Does he thank that servant because he did the things that were commanded? I think not.

⁹ و آیا او از آن غلام به‌خاطر آنكه دستوراتش را اجرا كرده است ممنون خواهد بود؟

¹⁰ Even so you also, when you have done all the things that are commanded you, say, ‘We are unworthy servants. We have done our duty.’”

¹⁰ در مورد شما هم همین‌طور است، هرگاه تمام دستورهایی كه به شما داده شده بجا آورید بگویید: 'ما غلامانی بیش نیستیم، فقط وظیفهٔ خود را انجام داده‌ایم.'»

¹¹It happened as he was on his way to Jerusalem, that he was passing along the borders of Samaria and Galilee.

¹¹ عیسی در سفر خود به سوی اورشلیم از مرز بین سامره و جلیل می‌گذشت.

¹²As he entered into a certain village, ten men who were lepers met him, who stood at a distance.

¹² هنگامی‌که می‌‌خواست به دهکده‌ای وارد شود با ده نفر جذامی روبه‌رو شد. آنان دور ایستادند

¹³They lifted up their voices, saying, “Jesus, Master, have mercy on us!”

¹³ و فریاد زدند: «ای عیسی، ای استاد، به ما رحم كن.»

¹⁴When he saw them, he said to them, “Go and show yourselves to the priests.” It happened that as they went, they were cleansed.

¹⁴ وقتی عیسی آنان را دید فرمود: «بروید و خود را به كاهنان نشان بدهید.» و همچنان‌که می‌رفتند پاک گشتند.

¹⁵One of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, glorifying God with a loud voice.

¹⁵ یكی از ایشان وقتی دید شفا یافته است درحالی‌که خدا را با صدای بلند حمد می‌گفت بازگشت.

¹⁶He fell on his face at Jesus’ feet, giving him thanks; and he was a Samaritan.

¹⁶ خود را پیش پاهای عیسی انداخت و از او سپاسگزاری كرد. این شخص یک سامری بود.

¹⁷Jesus answered, “Weren’t the ten cleansed? But where are the nine?

¹⁷ عیسی در این خصوص فرمود: «مگر هر ده نفر پاک نشدند؟ پس آن نُه نفر دیگر كجا هستند؟

¹⁸ Were there none found who returned to give glory to God, except this stranger?”

¹⁸ آیا غیراز این بیگانه كسی نبود كه برگردد و خدا را حمد گوید؟»

¹⁹Then he said to him, “Get up, and go your way. Your faith has healed you.”

¹⁹ به آن مرد فرمود: «بلند شو و برو، ایمانت تو را شفا داده است.»

²⁰Being asked by the Pharisees when the Kingdom of God would come, he answered them, “The Kingdom of God doesn’t come with observation;

²⁰ فریسیان از او سؤال كردند كه پادشاهی خدا كی خواهد آمد. عیسی در جواب فرمود: «پادشاهی خدا طوری نمی‌آید كه بتوان آن را مشاهده كرد

²¹ neither will they say, ‘Look, here!’ or, ‘Look, there!’ for behold, the Kingdom of God is within you.”

²¹ و كسی نخواهد گفت كه، آن در اینجا یا در آنجاست، چون در حقیقت پادشاهی خدا در میان خود شماست.»

²²He said to the disciples, “The days will come, when you will desire to see one of the days of the Son of Man, and you will not see it.

²² به شاگردان فرمود: «زمانی خواهد آمد كه شما آرزوی دیدن یكی از روزهای پسر انسان را خواهید داشت امّا آن را نخواهید دید.

²³ They will tell you, ‘Look, here!’ or ‘Look, there!’ Don’t go away, nor follow after them,

²³ به شما خواهند گفت كه به اینجا یا آنجا نگاه كنید. شما به دنبال آنان نروید،

²⁴ for as the lightning, when it flashes out of the one part under the sky, shines to the other part under the sky; so will the Son of Man be in his day.

²⁴ زیرا پسر انسان در روز خود مانند برق كه از این سر آسمان تا آن سر آسمان می‌درخشد خواهد بود.

²⁵ But first, he must suffer many things and be rejected by this generation.

²⁵ امّا لازم است كه او اول متحمّل رنجهای بسیار گردد و از طرف مردم این روزگار رد شود.

²⁶ As it happened in the days of Noah, even so will it be also in the days of the Son of Man.

²⁶ زمان پسر انسان مانند روزگار نوح خواهد بود.

²⁷ They ate, they drank, they married, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ship, and the flood came, and destroyed them all.

²⁷ مردم تا روزی كه نوح وارد كشتی شد و سیل آمده همه را نابود كرد می‌خوردند و می‌نوشیدند، زن می‌گرفتند و شوهر می‌کردند.

²⁸ Likewise, even as it happened in the days of Lot: they ate, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they built;

²⁸ همچنین مانند زمان لوط خواهد بود كه مردم می‌خوردند و می‌نوشیدند و به خرید و فروش و كشت و كار و خانه‌سازی مشغول بودند.

²⁹ but in the day that Lot went out from Sodom, it rained fire and sulfur from the sky, and destroyed them all.

²⁹ امّا در روزی كه لوط از سدوم بیرون آمد آتش و گوگرد از آسمان بارید و همه را از بین برد.

³⁰ It will be the same way in the day that the Son of Man is revealed.

³⁰ روزی كه پسر انسان ظهور كند مانند آن روزگار خواهد بود.

³¹ In that day, he who will be on the housetop, and his goods in the house, let him not go down to take them away. Let him who is in the field likewise not turn back.

³¹ «در آن روز مردی كه در پشت بام است و دارایی‌اش در خانه می‌باشد نباید برای بردن آنها پایین بیاید. همچنین کسی‌که در مزرعه است نباید برای بردن آنها پایین بیاید. همچنین کسی‌که در مزرعه است نباید برگردد.

³² Remember Lot’s wife!

³² زن لوط را به‌یاد داشته باشید!

³³ Whoever seeks to save his life loses it, but whoever loses his life preserves it.

³³ هرکه برای نجات جان خود بكوشد آن را از دست می‌دهد و هرکه جان خود را فدا سازد آن را نجات خواهد داد.

³⁴ I tell you, in that night there will be two people in one bed. The one will be taken, and the other will be left.

³⁴ بدانید كه در آن شب از دو نفر كه در یک بستر هستند یكی را می‌برند و دیگری را می‌گذارند.

³⁵ There will be two grinding grain together. One will be taken, and the other will be left.”

³⁵ از دو زن كه با هم دستاس می‌کنند یكی را می‌برند و دیگری را می‌گذارند. [

³⁶ Some Greek manuscripts add: “Two will be in the field: the one taken, and the other left.”

³⁶ از دو مردی كه در مزرعه باشند یكی برداشته می‌شود دیگری در جای خود می‌ماند.]» وقتی شاگردان این را شنیدند پرسیدند «كجا ای خداوند؟» او فرمود: «هر جا لاشه‌ای باشد لاشخورها جمع می‌شوند.»

³⁷They, answering, asked him, “Where, Lord?” He said to them, “Where the body is, there will the vultures also be gathered together.”

³⁷ وقتی شاگردان این را شنیدند پرسیدند «كجا ای خداوند؟» او فرمود: «هر جا لاشه‌ای باشد لاشخورها جمع می‌شوند.»
