1But on the first day of the week, at early dawn, they and some others came to the tomb, bringing the spices which they had prepared.

در روز اول هفته (یكشنبه) صبح خیلی زود سر قبر آمدند و حنوطی را كه تهیّه كرده بودند، با خود آوردند.
2They found the stone rolled away from the tomb.
2
آنها دیدند كه سنگ از در مقبره به كنار غلطانیده شده
3They entered in, and didn’t find the Lord Jesus’ body.
3
و وقتی به داخل رفتند، از جسد عیسی اثری نبود.
4It happened, while they were greatly perplexed about this, behold, two men stood by them in dazzling clothing.
4
حیران در آنجا ایستاده بودند كه ناگهان دو مرد با لباسهای نورانی در كنار آنان قرار گرفتند.
5Becoming terrified, they bowed their faces down to the earth. They said to them, “Why do you seek the living among the dead?
5
زنها وحشت كردند و درحالیکه سرهای خود را به زیر انداخته بودند ایستادند. آن دو مرد گفتند: «چرا زنده را در میان مردگان میجویید؟
6He isn’t here, but is risen. Remember what he told you when he was still in Galilee,
6
او اینجا نیست بلكه زنده شده است. آنچه را كه در موقع اقامت خود در جلیل به شما گفت، بهیاد بیاورید
7saying that the Son of Man must be delivered up into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again?”
7
كه چطور پسر انسان میبایست به دست خطاكاران تسلیم گردد و مصلوب شود و در روز سوم قیام كند.»
8They remembered his words,

آن وقت زنها سخنان او را بهخاطر آوردند
9returned from the tomb, and told all these things to the eleven, and to all the rest.
9
و وقتی از سر قبر برگشتند تمام موضوع را به یازده حواری و دیگران گزارش دادند.
10Now they were Mary Magdalene, Joanna, and Mary the mother of James. The other women with them told these things to the apostles.

آن زنها عبارت بودند از مریم مجدلیه، یونا و مریم مادر یعقوب. زنهای دیگر هم كه با آنان بودند، جریان را به رسولان گفتند.
11These words seemed to them to be nonsense, and they didn’t believe them.
11
امّا موضوع به نظر آنان مُهمَل و بیمعنی آمد و سخنان آنان را باور نمیكردند
12But Peter got up and ran to the tomb. Stooping and looking in, he saw the strips of linen lying by themselves, and he departed to his home, wondering what had happened.
12
امّا پطرس برخاست و به سوی قبر دوید و خم شده نگاه كرد، ولی چیزی جز كفن ندید. سپس درحالیکه از این اتّفاق در حیرت بود، به خانه برگشت.
13Behold, two of them were going that very day to a village named Emmaus, which was sixty stadia 60 stadia = about 11 kilometers or about 7 miles. from Jerusalem.

همان روز دو نفر از آنان به سوی دهكدهای به نام عَمواس كه تقریباً در دوازده کیلومتری اورشلیم واقع شده است میرفتند.
14They talked with each other about all of these things which had happened.
14
آن دو دربارهٔ همه این اتّفاقات گفتوگو میكردند.
15It happened, while they talked and questioned together, that Jesus himself came near, and went with them.
15
همینطور كه سرگرم صحبت و مباحثه بودند، خود عیسی سر رسید و با آنان همراه شد.
16But their eyes were kept from recognizing him.
16
امّا چیزی جلوی چشمان آنها را گرفت، به طوری که او را نشناختند.
17He said to them, “What are you talking about as you walk, and are sad?”
17
عیسی از آنان پرسید: «موضوع بحث شما در بین راه چیست؟» آنها در جای خود ایستادند. غم و اندوه از چهرههای ایشان پیدا بود.
18One of them, named Cleopas, answered him, “Are you the only stranger in Jerusalem who doesn’t know the things which have happened there in these days?”

یكی از آن دو كه نامش كلیوپاس بود جواب داد: «گویا در میان مسافران ساكن اورشلیم تنها تو از وقایع چند روز اخیر بیخبری!»
19He said to them, “What things?” They said to him, “The things concerning Jesus, the Nazarene, who was a prophet mighty in deed and word before God and all the people;

عیسی پرسید: «موضوع چیست؟» جواب دادند: «عیسای ناصری مردی بود كه در گفتار و كردار در پیشگاه خدا و پیش همهٔ مردم نبیای توانا بود،
20and how the chief priests and our rulers delivered him up to be condemned to death, and crucified him.
20
امّا سران كاهنان و حكمرانان ما او را تسلیم كردند تا محكوم به اعدام شود و او را به صلیب میخكوب كردند.
21But we were hoping that it was he who would redeem Israel. Yes, and besides all this, it is now the third day since these things happened.
21
امید ما این بود كه او آن كسی باشد كه میبایست اسرائیل را رهایی دهد. از آن گذشته الآن سه روز است كه این كار انجام شده است.
22Also, certain women of our company amazed us, having arrived early at the tomb;
22
علاوه براین، چند نفر زن از گروه ما، ما را مات و متحیّر كردهاند. ایشان سحرگاه امروز به سر قبر رفتند،
23and when they didn’t find his body, they came saying that they had also seen a vision of angels, who said that he was alive.
23
امّا موفّق به پیداكردن جنازه نشدند. آنها برگشتهاند و میگویند در رؤیا فرشتگانی را دیدند كه به آنان گفتهاند او زنده است.
24Some of us went to the tomb, and found it just like the women had said, but they didn’t see him.”
24
پس عدّهای از گروه ما سر قبر رفتند و اوضاع را همانطور كه زنها گفته بودند مشاهده كردند، امّا او را ندیدند.»
25He said to them, “Foolish men, and slow of heart to believe in all that the prophets have spoken!
25
سپس عیسی به آنان فرمود: «شما چقدر دیر فهم و در قبول كردن گفتههای انبیا كُند ذهن هستید.
26 Didn’t the Christ have to suffer these things and to enter into his glory?”
26
آیا نمیباید كه مسیح قبل از ورود به جلال خود همینطور رنج ببیند؟»
27Beginning from Moses and from all the prophets, he explained to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning himself.
27
آن وقت از تورات موسی و نوشتههای انبیا شروع كرد و در هر قسمت از کتابمقدّس آیاتی را كه دربارهٔ خودش بود برای آنان بیان فرمود.
28They drew near to the village, where they were going, and he acted like he would go further.
28
در این هنگام نزدیک دهكدهای كه به طرف آن میرفتند رسیدند و گویا او میخواست به راه خود ادامه دهد.
29They urged him, saying, “Stay with us, for it is almost evening, and the day is almost over.” He went in to stay with them.
29
امّا به او اصرار كردند: «پیش ما بمان چون غروب نزدیک است و روز تقریباً به پایان رسیده.» بنابراین عیسی وارد خانه شد تا پیش ایشان بماند.
30It happened, that when he had sat down at the table with them, he took the bread and gave thanks. Breaking it, he gave to them.

وقتی با آنان سر سفره نشست نان را برداشت و پس از دعای سپاسگزاری آن را پاره كرد و به ایشان داد.
31Their eyes were opened, and they recognized him, and he vanished out of their sight.
31
در این وقت چشمان ایشان باز شد و او را شناختند، ولی فوراً از نظر آنها ناپدید شد.
32They said one to another, “Weren’t our hearts burning within us, while he spoke to us along the way, and while he opened the Scriptures to us?”
32
آنها به یكدیگر گفتند: «دیدی وقتی در راه با ما صحبت میكرد و کتابمقدّس را تفسیر میکرد، چطور دلها در سینههای ما میتپید!»
33They rose up that very hour, returned to Jerusalem, and found the eleven gathered together, and those who were with them,

آنها بیدرنگ حركت كردند و به اورشلیم بازگشتند. در آنجا دیدند كه آن یازده حواری به اتّفاق دیگران دور هم جمع شده
34saying, “The Lord is risen indeed, and has appeared to Simon!”
34
میگفتند: «آری، در واقع خداوند زنده شده است. شمعون او را دیده است.»
35They related the things that happened along the way, and how he was recognized by them in the breaking of the bread.
35
آن دو نفر نیز وقایع سفر خود را شرح دادند و گفتند كه چطور او را در موقع پارهكردن نان شناختند.
36As they said these things, Jesus himself stood among them, and said to them, “Peace be to you.”
36
درحالیکه شاگردان دربارهٔ این چیزها گفتوگو میکردند عیسی در بین ایشان ایستاده به آنها گفت: «صلح و سلامتی بر شما باد»
37But they were terrified and filled with fear, and supposed that they had seen a spirit.
37
آنها با ترس و وحشت، تصوّر كردند كه شَبَحی میبینند.
38He said to them, “Why are you troubled? Why do doubts arise in your hearts?
38
او فرمود: «چرا اینطور آشفتهحال هستید؟ چرا شک و شبهه به دلهای شما رخنه میكند؟
39 See my hands and my feet, that it is truly me. Touch me and see, for a spirit doesn’t have flesh and bones, as you see that I have.”
39
به دستها و پاهای من نگاه كنید، خودم هستم، به من دست بزنید و ببینید، شبح مانند من گوشت و استخوان ندارد.»
40When he had said this, he showed them his hands and his feet.
40
این را گفت و دستها و پاهای خود را به ایشان نشان داد.
41While they still didn’t believe for joy, and wondered, he said to them, “Do you have anything here to eat?”
41
از فرط شادی و تعجّب نتوانستند این چیزها را باور كنند. آنگاه عیسی از آنان پرسید: «آیا در اینجا خوراكی دارید؟»
42They gave him a piece of a broiled fish and some honeycomb.
42
یک تکه ماهی بریان پیش او آوردند.
43He took them, and ate in front of them.
43
آن را برداشت و پیش چشم آنان خورد.
44He said to them, “This is what I told you, while I was still with you, that all things which are written in the law of Moses, the prophets, and the psalms, concerning me must be fulfilled.”
44
و به ایشان فرمود: «وقتی هنوز با شما بودم و میگفتم كه هرچه در تورات موسی و نوشتههای انبیا و زبور دربارهٔ من نوشته شده، باید به انجام برسد، مقصودم همین چیزها بود.»
45Then he opened their minds, that they might understand the Scriptures.

بعد اذهان ایشان را باز كرد تا کتابمقدّس را بفهمند
46He said to them, “Thus it is written, and thus it was necessary for the Christ to suffer and to rise from the dead the third day,
46
و فرمود: «این است آنچه نوشته شده كه مسیح باید عذاب مرگ را ببیند و در روز سوم دوباره زنده شود
47 and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name to all the nations, beginning at Jerusalem.
47
و به نام او توبه و آمرزش گناهان به همهٔ ملّتها اعلام گردد و شروع آن از اورشلیم باشد.
48 You are witnesses of these things.
48
شما بر همهٔ اینها گواه هستید.
49 Behold, I send forth the promise of my Father on you. But wait in the city of Jerusalem until you are clothed with power from on high.”
49
خود من عطیهٔ موعود پدرم را بر شما میفرستم. پس تا زمانیکه قدرت خدا از عالم بالا بر شما نازل شود، در این شهر بمانید.»
50He led them out as far as Bethany, and he lifted up his hands, and blessed them.
50
بعد آنان را تا نزدیكی بیتعنیا برد و با دستهای برافراشته برای ایشان دعای خیر نمود.
51It happened, while he blessed them, that he withdrew from them, and was carried up into heaven.
51
درحالیکه آنان را بركت میداد از آنان جدا و به آسمان برده شد
52They worshiped him, and returned to Jerusalem with great joy,
52
و ایشان او را پرستش كردند و سپس با شادی عظیم به اورشلیم برگشتند
و تمام اوقات خود را در معبد بزرگ صرف حمد و سپاس خدا كردند.
53and were continually in the temple, praising and blessing God. Amen.
