¹It happened soon afterwards, that he went about through cities and villages, preaching and bringing the good news of the Kingdom of God. With him were the twelve,

¹ بعد از آن عیسی شهر به شهر و روستا به روستا می‌گشت و مژدهٔ پادشاهی خدا را اعلام می‌کرد.

²and certain women who had been healed of evil spirits and infirmities: Mary who was called Magdalene, from whom seven demons had gone out;

² دوازده حواری و عدّه‌ای از زنانی كه از ارواح پلید و ناخوشی‌ها رهایی یافته بودند با او همراه بودند. مریم معروف به مریم مجدلیه كه از او هفت دیو بیرون آمده بود،

³and Joanna, the wife of Chuzas, Herod’s steward; Susanna; and many others; who served them TR reads “him” instead of “them” from their possessions.

³ یونا همسر خوزا مباشر هیرودیس و سوسن و بسیاری كسان دیگر. این زنها از اموال خود به عیسی و شاگردانش كمک می‌کردند.

⁴When a great multitude came together, and people from every city were coming to him, he spoke by a parable.

⁴ وقتی مردم از شهرهای اطراف به دیدن عیسی آمدند و جمعیّت زیادی در اطراف او جمع شد، مَثَلی زده گفت:

⁵ “The farmer went out to sow his seed. As he sowed, some fell along the road, and it was trampled under foot, and the birds of the sky devoured it.

⁵ «برزگری برای بذر افشاندن بیرون رفت. وقتی بذر پاشید، مقداری از آن در گذرگاه افتاد و پایمال شد و پرندگان آنها را خوردند.

⁶ Other seed fell on the rock, and as soon as it grew, it withered away, because it had no moisture.

⁶ مقداری هم در زمین سنگلاخ افتاد و پس از آنكه رشد كرد به‌خاطر کمی رطوبت خشک شد.

⁷ Other fell amid the thorns, and the thorns grew with it, and choked it.

⁷ بعضی از بذرها داخل خارها افتاد و خارها با آنها رشد كرده آنها را خفه نمود.

⁸ Other fell into the good ground, and grew, and brought forth fruit one hundred times.” As he said these things, he called out, “He who has ears to hear, let him hear!”

⁸ بعضی از بذرها در خاک خوب افتادند و رشد كردند و صد برابر ثمر آوردند.» این را فرمود و با صدای بلند گفت: «اگر گوش شنوا دارید، بشنوید.»

⁹Then his disciples asked him, “What does this parable mean?”

⁹ شاگردان عیسی معنی این مَثَل را از او پرسیدند.

¹⁰He said, “To you it is given to know the mysteries of the Kingdom of God, but to the rest in parables; that ‘seeing they may not see, and hearing they may not understand.’ Isaiah 6:9

¹⁰ فرمود: «درک اسرار پادشاهی خدا به شما عطا شده است، امّا این مطالب برای دیگران در قالب مَثَل بیان می‌شود تا نگاه كنند امّا چیزی نبینند، بشنوند امّا چیزی نفهمند.

¹¹ Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God.

¹¹ «معنی و مفهوم این مَثَل از این قرار است: دانه، كلام خداست.

¹² Those along the road are those who hear, then the devil comes, and takes away the word from their heart, that they may not believe and be saved.

¹² دانه‌هایی كه در گذرگاه افتادند كسانی هستند كه آن را می‌شنوند و سپس ابلیس می‌آید و كلام را از دلهایشان می‌رباید مبادا ایمان بیاورند و نجات یابند.

¹³ Those on the rock are they who, when they hear, receive the word with joy; but these have no root, who believe for a while, then fall away in time of temptation.

¹³ دانه‌های كاشته شده در سنگلاخ به كسانی می‌ماند كه وقتی كلام را می‌شنوند با شادی می‌پذیرند امّا كلام در آنان ریشه نمی‌دواند. مدّتی ایمان دارند امّا در وقت آزمایشهای سخت از میدان بدر می‌روند.

¹⁴ That which fell among the thorns, these are those who have heard, and as they go on their way they are choked with cares, riches, and pleasures of life, and bring no fruit to maturity.

¹⁴ دانه‌هایی كه در میان خارها افتادند بر كسانی دلالت می‌کند كه كلام خدا را می‌شنوند امّا با گذشت زمان، نگرانی‌های دنیا و مال و ثروت و خوشی‌های زندگی، كلام را در آنها خفه می‌کند و هیچ‌گونه ثمری نمی‌آورند.

¹⁵ That in the good ground, these are such as in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, hold it tightly, and bring forth fruit with patience.

¹⁵ امّا دانه‌هایی كه در خاک خوب افتادند بر كسانی دلالت دارد كه كلام خدا را با قلبی صاف و پاک می‌شنوند و آن را نگه می‌دارند و با پشتكار، ثمرات فراوان به بار می‌آورند.

¹⁶ “No one, when he has lit a lamp, covers it with a container, or puts it under a bed; but puts it on a stand, that those who enter in may see the light.

¹⁶ «هیچ‌کس چراغ را روشن نمی‌کند تا آن را زیر سرپوش بگذارد یا زیر تخت بگذارد. برعکس، آن را روی چراغپایه می‌گذارد تا هرکه وارد شود، نور آن را ببیند.

¹⁷ For nothing is hidden, that will not be revealed; nor anything secret, that will not be known and come to light.

¹⁷ «زیرا هرچه پنهان باشد آشكار می‌شود و هرچه زیر سرپوش باشد نمایان می‌گردد و پرده از رویش برداشته می‌شود.

¹⁸ Be careful therefore how you hear. For whoever has, to him will be given; and whoever doesn’t have, from him will be taken away even that which he thinks he has.”

¹⁸ «پس مواظب باشید كه چطور می‌شنوید زیرا به کسی‌که دارد بیشتر داده خواهد شد، امّا آن‌کس كه ندارد حتّی آنچه را كه به گمان خود دارد از دست خواهد داد.»

¹⁹His mother and brothers came to him, and they could not come near him for the crowd.

¹⁹ مادر و برادران عیسی به سراغ او آمدند، امّا به سبب زیادی جمعیّت نتوانستند به او برسند.

²⁰It was told him by some saying, “Your mother and your brothers stand outside, desiring to see you.”

²⁰ به او گفتند: «مادر و برادرانت بیرون ایستاده‌اند و می‌خواهند تو را ببینند.»

²¹But he answered them, “My mother and my brothers are these who hear the word of God, and do it.”

²¹ عیسی پاسخ داد: «مادر من و برادران من آنانی هستند كه كلام خدا را می‌شنوند و آن را بجا می‌آورند.»

²²Now it happened on one of those days, that he entered into a boat, himself and his disciples, and he said to them, “Let’s go over to the other side of the lake.” So they launched out.

²² در یكی از آن روزها عیسی با شاگردان خود سوار قایق شد و به آنان فرمود: «به طرف دیگر دریا برویم.» آنها به راه افتادند

²³But as they sailed, he fell asleep. A wind storm came down on the lake, and they were taking on dangerous amounts of water.

²³ و وقتی قایق در حركت بود عیسی به خواب رفت. در این وقت توفان سختی در دریا پدید آمد. آب، قایق را پر می‌ساخت و آنان در خطر بزرگی افتاده بودند.

²⁴They came to him, and awoke him, saying, “Master, master, we are dying!” He awoke, and rebuked the wind and the raging of the water, and they ceased, and it was calm. See Psalm 107:29

²⁴ پیش او رفتند و بیدارش كرده گفتند: «ای استاد، ای استاد، چیزی نمانده كه ما از بین برویم.» او از خواب برخاست و با تندی به باد و آبهای توفانی فرمان سكوت داد. توفان فرو نشست و همه‌جا آرام شد.

²⁵He said to them, “Where is your faith?” Being afraid they marveled, saying one to another, “Who is this, then, that he commands even the winds and the water, and they obey him?”

²⁵ از آنان پرسید: «ایمانتان كجاست؟» آنان با حالت ترس و تعجّب به یكدیگر می‌گفتند: «این مرد كیست كه به باد و آب فرمان می‌دهد و آنها از او اطاعت می‌کنند؟»

²⁶They arrived at the country of the Gadarenes, which is opposite Galilee.

²⁶ به این ترتیب در سرزمین جدریان كه مقابل استان جلیل است به خشكی رسیدند.

²⁷When Jesus stepped ashore, a certain man out of the city who had demons for a long time met him. He wore no clothes, and didn’t live in a house, but in the tombs.

²⁷ همین‌که عیسی قدم به ساحل گذاشت با مردی از اهالی آن شهر روبه‌رو شد كه گرفتار دیوها بود. مدّتی دراز نه لباسی پوشیده بود و نه در خانه زندگی كرده بود بلكه در میان گورستان به سر می‌برد.

²⁸When he saw Jesus, he cried out, and fell down before him, and with a loud voice said, “What do I have to do with you, Jesus, you Son of the Most High God? I beg you, don’t torment me!”

²⁸ به محض اینکه عیسی را دید فریاد كرد و به پاهای او افتاد و با صدای بلند گفت: «ای عیسی، پسر خدای متعال از من چه می‌خواهی؟ از تو التماس می‌کنم، مرا عذاب نده»

²⁹For Jesus was commanding the unclean spirit to come out of the man. For the unclean spirit had often seized the man. He was kept under guard, and bound with chains and fetters. Breaking the bands apart, he was driven by the demon into the desert.

²⁹ زیرا عیسی به روح پلید فرمان داده بود كه از آن مرد بیرون بیاید. آن دیو بارها بر او حمله‌ور شده بود و مردم او را گرفته با زنجیرها و کنده‌ها محكم نگاه داشته بودند، امّا هربار زنجیرها را پاره می‌کرد و آن دیو او را به بیابانها می‌کشانید.

³⁰Jesus asked him, “What is your name?” He said, “Legion,” for many demons had entered into him.

³⁰ عیسی از او پرسید: «اسم تو چیست؟» جواب داد: «سپاه» و این به آن سبب بود كه دیوهای بسیاری او را به تصرّف خود درآورده بودند.

³¹They begged him that he would not command them to go into the abyss.

³¹ دیوها از عیسی تقاضا کردند كه آنها را به چاه بی‌انتها نفرستد.

³²Now there was there a herd of many pigs feeding on the mountain, and they begged him that he would allow them to enter into those. He allowed them.

³² در آن نزدیكی، گلّهٔ بزرگ خوکی بود كه در بالای تپّه می‌چریدند و دیوها از او در خواست كردند كه اجازه دهد به داخل خوكها بروند. عیسی به آنها اجازه داد.

³³The demons came out from the man, and entered into the pigs, and the herd rushed down the steep bank into the lake, and were drowned.

³³ دیوها از آن مرد بیرون آمدند و به داخل خوكها رفتند و آن گلّه از سراشیبی تپّه به دریا جست و غرق شد.

³⁴When those who fed them saw what had happened, they fled, and told it in the city and in the country.

³⁴ خوک‌بانان آنچه را كه واقع شد دیدند و پا به فرار گذاشتند و این خبر را به شهر و اطراف آن رسانیدند.

³⁵People went out to see what had happened. They came to Jesus, and found the man from whom the demons had gone out, sitting at Jesus’ feet, clothed and in his right mind; and they were afraid.

³⁵ مردم برای تماشا از شهر بیرون آمدند. وقتی پیش عیسی رسیدند مردی را كه دیوها از او بیرون رفته بودند، لباس پوشیده و سر عقل آمده پیش پای عیسی نشسته دیدند و هراسان شدند.

³⁶Those who saw it told them how he who had been possessed by demons was healed.

³⁶ شاهدان واقعه برای آنان شرح دادند كه آن مرد چگونه شفا یافت.

³⁷All the people of the surrounding country of the Gadarenes asked him to depart from them, for they were very much afraid. He entered into the boat, and returned.

³⁷ بعد تمام مردم ناحیهٔ جدریان از عیسی خواهش كردند كه از آنجا برود زیرا بسیار هراسان بودند. بنابراین عیسی سوار قایق شد و به طرف دیگر دریا بازگشت.

³⁸But the man from whom the demons had gone out begged him that he might go with him, but Jesus sent him away, saying,

³⁸ مردی كه دیوها از او بیرون آمده بودند اجازه خواست كه با او برود امّا عیسی به او اجازه نداد و گفت:

³⁹ “Return to your house, and declare what great things God has done for you.” He went his way, proclaiming throughout the whole city what great things Jesus had done for him.

³⁹ «به خانه‌ات برگرد و آنچه را كه خدا برای تو انجام داده است بیان كن.» آن مرد به شهر رفت و آنچه را كه عیسی برای او انجام داده بود، همه‌جا پخش كرد.

⁴⁰It happened, when Jesus returned, that the multitude welcomed him, for they were all waiting for him.

⁴⁰ هنگامی‌که عیسی به طرف دیگر دریا بازگشت مردم به گرمی از او استقبال كردند زیرا همه در انتظار او بودند.

⁴¹Behold, there came a man named Jairus, and he was a ruler of the synagogue. He fell down at Jesus’ feet, and begged him to come into his house,

⁴¹ در این وقت مردی كه اسمش یائروس بود و سرپرستی كنیسه را به عهده داشت نزد عیسی آمد. خود را پیش پاهای عیسی انداخت و از او تقاضا كرد كه به خانه‌اش برود،

⁴²for he had an only daughter, about twelve years of age, and she was dying. But as he went, the multitudes pressed against him.

⁴² زیرا دختر یگانه‌اش كه تقریباً دوازده ساله بود در آستانهٔ مرگ قرار داشت. وقتی عیسی در راه بود مردم از هر طرف به او فشار می‌آوردند.

⁴³A woman who had a flow of blood for twelve years, who had spent all her living on physicians, and could not be healed by any,

⁴³ در میان مردم زنی بود كه مدّت دوازده سال مبتلا به خونریزی بود و با اینكه تمام دارایی خود را به پزشکان داده بود هیچ‌کس نتوانسته بود او را درمان نماید.

⁴⁴came behind him, and touched the fringe or, tassel of his cloak, and immediately the flow of her blood stopped.

⁴⁴ این زن از پشت سر آمد و قبای عیسی را لمس كرد و فوراً خونریزی او بند آمد.

⁴⁵Jesus said, “Who touched me?” When all denied it, Peter and those with him said, “Master, the multitudes press and jostle you, and you say, ‘Who touched me?’ ”

⁴⁵ عیسی پرسید: «چه كسی به من دست زد؟» همگی انكار كردند و پطرس گفت: «ای استاد، مردم تو را احاطه کرده‌اند و به تو فشار می‌آورند.»

⁴⁶But Jesus said, “Someone did touch me, for I perceived that power has gone out of me.”

⁴⁶ امّا عیسی فرمود: «كسی به من دست زد، چون احساس كردم نیرویی از من صادر شد.»

⁴⁷When the woman saw that she was not hidden, she came trembling, and falling down before him declared to him in the presence of all the people the reason why she had touched him, and how she was healed immediately.

⁴⁷ آن زن كه فهمید شناخته شده است با ترس و لرز آمد و پیش پاهای او افتاد و در برابر همهٔ مردم شرح داد كه چرا او را لمس كرده و چگونه فوراً شفا یافته است.

⁴⁸He said to her, “Daughter, cheer up. Your faith has made you well. Go in peace.”

⁴⁸ عیسی به او فرمود: «دخترم، ایمانت تو را شفا داده است، بسلامت برو»

⁴⁹While he still spoke, one from the ruler of the synagogue’s house came, saying to him, “Your daughter is dead. Don’t trouble the Teacher.”

⁴⁹ هنوز گرم صحبت بودند كه مردی با این پیغام از خانهٔ سرپرست كنیسه آمد: «دخترت مُرد. بیش از این استاد را زحمت نده.»

⁵⁰But Jesus hearing it, answered him, “Don’t be afraid. Only believe, and she will be healed.”

⁵⁰ وقتی عیسی این را شنید، به یائروس فرمود: «نترس فقط ایمان داشته باش، او خوب خواهد شد.»

⁵¹When he came to the house, he didn’t allow anyone to enter in, except Peter, John, James, the father of the child, and her mother.

⁵¹ هنگام ورود به خانه اجازه نداد كسی جز پطرس و یوحنا و یعقوب و پدر و مادر آن دختر با او وارد شود.

⁵²All were weeping and mourning her, but he said, “Don’t weep. She isn’t dead, but sleeping.”

⁵² همه برای آن دختر اشک می‌ریختند و عزاداری می‌کردند. عیسی فرمود: «دیگر گریه نكنید، او نمرده، خواب است.»

⁵³They were ridiculing him, knowing that she was dead.

⁵³ آنان فقط به او نیشخند می‌زدند، چون خوب می‌دانستند كه او مُرده است.

⁵⁴But he put them all outside, and taking her by the hand, he called, saying, “Child, arise!”

⁵⁴ امّا عیسی دست دختر را گرفت و او را صدا زد و گفت: «ای دخترک، برخیز.»

⁵⁵Her spirit returned, and she rose up immediately. He commanded that something be given to her to eat.

⁵⁵ روح او بازگشت و فوراً برخاست. عیسی به ایشان فرمود كه به او خوراک بدهند. والدین او بسیار تعجّب كردند، امّا عیسی با تأكید از آنان خواست كه ماجرا را به كسی نگویند.

⁵⁶Her parents were amazed, but he commanded them to tell no one what had been done.

⁵⁶ والدین او بسیار تعجّب كردند، امّا عیسی با تأكید از آنان خواست كه ماجرا را به كسی نگویند.
